A Hard-SPL question - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

What is exactly the difference between a Signed and Unsigned Hard-SPL?
And what do both mean for the warranty?

Newbie question

What is CID unlocking? If I were to buy an unlocked/unbranded phone do I still need to do this inorder to install a custom rom?

Hard-SPL from 1.40 to 1.37

When I started to play with unsigned roms, I flashed Olinex 1.40 HSPL. My device ROM's from factory was 1.37.
I am encountering some problem with blurry screens and that's the reason for which I want to flash Olinex 1.37 HSPL. I tried to flash 1.37 HSPL over 1.40HSPL with no success, because the version indicated at soft-reset is still 1.40. What is the right procedure?

hardspl ???

how i know is have unsigned hardspl?
i have this
HardSPL 1.40 is signed or unsigned
this appears to be olinex unsigned 1.40
searching would of answered your question but sackbauer is absolutely correct in response.

Problem with new rom for Israel

Hi to all , I found a new release of 2.03 rom for Israel , but they said that the rom can be flashed only if you bought the phone from them and when flashing it checks the IMEI number .
I tried to flash it and it gave me an error, so I went back to the old rom .
Is there someone who can help with getting out this IMEI check from the rom?
The link for this rom: http://rapidshare.com/files/201931770/RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE-ME_2.03.456.2_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.51.25.26_1.09.25.23_Ship.exe
it doesn't check the IMEI but the CID (carrier ID) of the device.
You can do 2 things:
You can superCID it (giving it an master CID) so you can flash all OFFICIAL(only official) diamond ROMs.
This can be done with the olinex unlocker.
Or
You can flash the Hard SPL, which allows you to flash any diamond ROM to your device.
There is a sticky presenting several Hard-SPL versions.
Good luck and have fun.
I have Olinex SPL 1.40
do I need something else?
you'd need an unsigned H-SPL to flash the official ROM (is the version you are using signed or unsigned?)
Unsigned Hard SPL Diamond OliNex
in the bootloader it shows the following:
Security Unlocked
DIAM100 MFG 64M
SPL-1.40.OliNex
MicroP-Diam (LED) v11
PSOC-Diam STAGE_PVT v0x30
Now it shouldn't be any problem to flash the WWE-ME ROM.
Try flashing it from internal storage (diamimg.nbh method)
Good luck,
EqX
I tried to flash it with the RUU and it gave me an error ,
do you think that if I'll flash it from the internal storage it would be ok?
P.S.
I tried to flash with RUU after I flashed the Unsigned Hard-SPL.
The ruu doesn't play nice..
unzip the exe
the big signed.nbh file is your image.
Then follow the instructions on:

Thanks , it worked.
You're welcome.

how to know whether touch diamond is cid, securty locked or unlocked?

hello,
i have a htc touch diamond from vodafone german, it was sim unlocked when i had it. now i wanna to upgrade to wm6.5.
questions
1- can i upgrade to a custom wm6.5 rom becasue it was simlockfree when i had it. hence i think there was no simlock therefore i can upgrade to a custom rom.
2-how can i know whether touch diamond has a cid , securty locked?
thx for answering
Go in bootloader mode (SOFT RESET + VOL UP)
If in SPL there's the word "Olinex", your cid is unlocked

Actually your bootloader will say OliNex and the version.
If it doesn't, don't flash any roms as it means your device is not Hard SLP which is what protects your phone from getting destroyed.
Mine say's security unlocked in RED on the top of bootloader screen and spl-1.40.OliNex

You should update your Hard SPL to 1.93 found in my signature.
as i said the touch diamond was simlockfree when i bought it. also every touch diamond is securty locked? doesnt matter if it is simlockfree or not. i mean the bought touch diamonds hava always securty locked. in order to flash to a custom rom it needs to be remove the security, cid.
i did not use the olinex because it was simlockfree. how can i see whether it is cid locked or not.
thx

No you don't need to have your device "Security Unlocked" as the purpose of this is to use other devices radios. No phones are bought retail with Sucurity restrictions unlocked. Don't worry as this is Not necessary!
What is necessary is to put 1.93 Hard SPL on your device to flash a rom.
