Enable roaming icon on AT&T Tilt 2 - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I upgraded from my unbranded TyTN II to the AT&T Tilt 2 (would have gone with the unbranded Touch pro 2, but the 3G radio doesn't work on AT&T ), but is there a way, most likely in the registry to re-enable the roaming icon? I have an AT&T Tilt for my work phone and it doesn't show when I'm roaming on a partner network, but my TyTN II did. I would like to re-enable this icon in my Tilt 2 so I know when to limit my minutes and data usage. I do live and work in an area where you go a few miles in one direction and your on a partner network and not AT&T's network, so this is somewhat important for me to know when I'm on which. Thanks in advance

T-Mobile UK MDA III and GSM Signal

All,
I have a question about the GSM signal on my T-Mobile UK MDA III. For the last 5 years I have been travelling to work using the underground train where I get no T-Mobile signal. Now with my previous phone (Siemens S55) as soon as I get out of the station I immediately get a signal and log onto the network but since I have moved over to my MDA III it takes about 5 minutes to log on to the network. I have set the preferred network to only be T-Mobile but it still takes a very long time to log back onto T-Mobile. Does anyone know why this is?
Now if I switch the phone off i.e. turn flight mode on before I start my underground journey and turn flight mode off when I get out the station the MDA III logs immediately on to the T-Mobile.
I recently installed a trial version of Wisbar that has an enhancement to increase the accuracy of the signal strength using the RIL method and I noticed the MDA III was logging on quicker

I don’t want to use this software to increase the accuracy so does anyone know of another method?
Thanks

3G on 8525 running DOPOD official

Is there any trick to make 3G work on the dopod official rom on the AT&T network? I'm in southern california and can not get my phone to connect at 3G at all, even in the center of an area that's covered in dark blue (indicating 3g service availability) on AT&T's 3g coverage map page. I've tried forcing the band to UMTS and I just get no service. Is there some registry tweak or hack I need to do to make it work? I'm on the AT&T $19.95 unlimited media max plan. I get EDGE pretty much everywhere I go but no 3G. HELP
I was running the official Dopod release on my 8525 and UMTS/HSDPA was working fine for me, just as it has with all the other unofficial WM6 releases.
Did it ever work before? or are you just going off Cingulars Coverage Maps?
Try checking you connection settings

New phone
To be honest I just got this phone last week and I really havent had a chance to fully try it out, I'm coming from an 8125. I am pretty much going based on coverage maps which AT&T say they cover almost all of southern orange county. I work all over orange county and have yet to see any 3g service? As long as there is nothing special to change or configure on the phone I geuss maybe I'm just not in the right service area. Is there any other troubleshooting I can try? Some sort of debug mode? I did reset and reconfigure all my connection settings per the above reply, same issue.
Thanks
Did you look in the Wiki? Try this....

Enable/Disable GSM/UMTS Band Selection
Cingular kindly disables anything useful about the network on the 8525. To enable the Band Selection Tab on your Phone settings page, set the following:
[\HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\]
"ShowUMTSBandPage"=dword:00000001
Get your phone to display an H when HSDPA is being used
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\RIL and set EnableHSDPAIcon to 1

Cingular 8525 / WM6 / UMTS not working

All:
I just got a Cingular 8525 and immediately upgraded it to WM6 (it had WM5 on it for about an hour). I am in a 3g covered area but I do not think I am getting a 3g connection on the phone. I have the big upper case U in a box, and then I have the signal indicator with an E over it. This makes me believe that I am connected to Cingular's edge network. Also, if I am on the phone and I try to run a sync with activesync the phone tells me that I have a voice call in progress. Any suggestions? AT&T support was clueless.

The U indicator is UMTS - that is 3G. However, most of the newer ROMs replace it with a 3G icon. What ROM did you use? Anyway, also, you may try the reg tweak to enable the BAND tab in the Settings > Phone menu. You can find that tweak in the wiki.

I have the same thing with my rogers phone, what I'm guessing is the phone is designed to pick whatever signal is strongest, (which is usually Edge) and not often-rescan for UTMS/3G.
If you google and download Band Switcher, you can force UTMS/3G at your leisure.
I wasnt aware the USA had 3G yet? I was always told that Edge was the best they had out there from a few mobile operators in the UK.
What Radio stack are you using?
Cingular, now known as "The New AT&T (AT&T)" has 3G up and running in some of it's markets.
No one seems to be answering this question.

We have quite a bit of UMTS and HSDPA coverage here in Massachusetts on Cingular/AT&T.

Time settings, AT&T network

Anyone know how to set the energy ROM on an AT&T Tilt 2 to sync with the AT&T network time? phone is like 4 minutes behind all of a sudden.

[Q] 3g gps not working htc tilt 2 with t-mobile

hello All,
I got a AT&T HTC touch pro 2 (tilt 2) from my friend who had got it unlocked from AT&T as he got upgraded to a new phone. I am using a t-mobile prepaid on the touch pro 2. I have got couple of issues with it.
1. The UI responds very slowly.
2. The data connection icon displays E. When I called up the t-mobile customer care they response varies a lot. One says i need to unlock the device from AT&T and others says i will be able to use only Edge as its not a device provided by t-mobile.
3. The GPS doesnt seem to work. When ever i used Bing. It says that its not able to connect.
I have a request is there any customisable rom that would help in over coming these issues.
Regards,
Mahesh
Same here, but other way round
I have a T-Mobile TouchPro 2 I've been using an AT&T SIM in, and I can tell you exactly what's up- The ROM is probably trying to refresh stuff in the background and it's not working because it's expecting an AT&T SIM. Try another ROM. As far as 3G, not gonna happen. T-Mobile's 3G runs on different bands than the AT&T 3G. The T-Mobile SIM wouldn't even start up the phone if it wasn't unlocked. And I think the GPS settings might be wrong, try fiddling around with the COM ports in Settings, but make sure you make a note of what they were before. I'd recommend a custom ROM, not to solve the problems you speak of necessarily, but it runs a lot faster, and won't have all the AT&T bloatware that's kinda useless to you. Oh, and if you don't have Connection Manager setting everything up for you in your ROM, make sure you set your APN.
