I'm curious
From what I've read only people with Hard SPL unlocked TP2s can upgrade to the official WM 6.5.
What will happen for CDMA users who cannot yet unlock their TP2's?
Will HTC provide an update tool which will work regardless or will we still be waiting for the Hard SPL unlocker in order to update.
I'm thinking the ROM update will include a tool as it wouldn't make sense to offer a ROM update without a way to actually update.
Am I wrong?

wow. no only cooked roms need to have your phone to be unlocked. stock roms from the carriers do not need for your phone to be unlocked.

Which is what I thought but I read a few places that T-Mobile users had to have theirs unlocked to update it to one on HTC's website.. ok well nevermind then!
The T-Mobile TP2 and the Unbranded TP2 are different devices. The official ROM on HTC's website is intended for Unbranded devices. T-Mobile users (such as myself) have to wait for T-Mobile to release a ROM for their own devices

All,
I bought and US UNLOCKED HTC Diamond.
When I try to download the ROM from HTC US it displays "Sorry... download is not suitable for your device".
I can't download the ROM from any country. According to HTC support my phone is from US however they do not inform how to find out where I can download an "unlocked" ROM.
Is there any non-carrier branded US version official ROM I can download?
I installed and modified version and my wifi stoped working, it does not make sense, anyway I want to install the original one just in case.
Thanks a lot
no firmware for htc diamond us unlock
same here... I have the diamond gsm us version...htc us doesn't have touch diamond unlock in their site...so I think there is no support....I don't know if it worth to flash custom rom or stay with the official rom...any suggestion?
They don't allow to download in India as well!!!
What a stupid update if no1 can download it!!!
hi
Do a search on the diamond forum it has a thread with a collection os S/N for firmware for all over, us, india, ek, etc. or just take a look at the xda-wiki it has a stock pile of all offical htc rom for all phones kept on hand for chefs and for others who are unable to download it.
also make sure u got hardspl on ur phone as usual: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Diamond_Upgrades
I also have a US 3g version of the diamond that was unlocked. I contacted HTC about support for roms/fixes and they said that the product is sold by Brightpoint in the US. Baiscally I was told SOL. HTC said it would only release a rom/updates for the US version of the diamond if Brightpoint requested it. I asked them for contact info for Brightpoint, but they said they didn't have it! ANyway, there are loads of great roms here on xda to choose from. Just make sure you read and follow all the sticky threads related to flashing. Let me know if I can help out with anything.
Hello,
I bought a new fantastic TouchPro2 Orange-branded.
I would like to install the lastest official no-brand ITALIAN ROM WM6.1 from the HTC website.
But I cannot download it because my serial number is associated to the Orange phones.
Can you help me to find this ROM or give me a valid serial number (so that I can use it again as soon as HTC will release the official WM6.5 ROM)?
Thank you in advance to all.
P.S. If someone is interested to my unlocked Orange-branded ROM 1.19.61.3 (51489) WWE no problem for me to share it !

Sorry for ignorance: if is the official HTC Rom, why do I need to installa HARD SPL?
your phone is set to only allow Orange ROMs - I think it's the CID
if you install HardSpl it allows you to flash ROMs not intended for your device and they also don't need to be signed
if you SIM-unlock your device using this forum you'll have the option to change the CID of your device - this will allow you to use any signed ROM even without HardSpl
but as I'm new to all this please wait till someone more experienced verifies this post
I think the previous Orange ROM was better than the official HTC ROM, anyway it was in english so this one is OK for me.
I'm looking forward to the official release of the WM6.5 HTC ROM !

unbranding HTC fuze and load new SA rom
I have a HTC Fuze At&T phone which I sim unlocked to use on Vodacom/MTN network. The phone software is really crappy and I was hoping that I can get a rom update on this site so that I can flash the SA version and hopefully get the GPS and browser to function.
I successfully did that for my Experia but cant find simular info for the HTC fuze or Touch pro as it is called in SA.
Any help will be great.
thanks

You should be able to flash back to your stock ROM. Is your phone an unlocked version from HTC or is it a branded version from a carrier? Also if you have hardspl your phone then you can flash any ROM you want..
what phone version do you have? On your phone, what kind of rom is it? Stock rom or cooked rom?

I don't know how to check my phone version. The ROM I got on now you mean? I'm pretty sure it was a cooked ROM. I got it from that page which shows countries and WM 6.5 versions. I can't find it anymore though. But I just chose the closest one from there.
Dont worry just flash the rom you like to try!

How do I check if it's GSM or CDMA? And if I install the official ROM and remove HardSPL, (for warranty and services purposes) would it still be fine? And yes, sorry if I'm being nubby...
Have a look here to find if you have a CDMA or GSM Rhodium:

IS there a sim card slot? no? then it is cdma. if there is a sim card slot it is gsm
@ the above: Not true, CDMA TP2's are WORLDWIDE which means they have a SIM-slot aswell.
To the OP: If you want to know what kind of device you have, it's pretty simple. Do you put a sim-card in your cellphone? If yes, which operator/carrier? Where are you located?

According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saudi_Telecom_Company
"...Saudi Telecom provides a variety of mobile communication products and services. They offer prepaid call plans, monthly subscription plans, roaming, MMS, WAP (over both GSM and GPRS), Residential Fixed Line services, Broadband Internet plans, 3.5G services to both pre-paid and subscription customers..."
Hope this helps

Yes its GSM (which is the only service provided in saudi arabia and most middle eastern countries)
And yes you can flash to any rom if your device is HardSPL, just make sure its a GSM rom and not a CDMA one.
If you say you got the rom from the page with countries and 6.5 versions, those are official rom releases ( http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Rhodium/Shipped_Roms ) not cooked roms.

YES! That's the link! I see, but at the time when I flashed my ROM with one of those, it wasn't the official release for my phone because I went to the HTC site and they didn't have it for Middle East yet. Now that they do, I wanna get that official one instead and then remove HardSPL for warranty and stuff just in case.
go ahead and download the official HTC rom for your device and flash it.
As for restoring the original SPL head over to the hardSPL thread and the steps to restore are at the end of the second post.
Best of luck

Thank you sooo much but another question though. The first step on removing HardSPL is flashing the stock ROM. Does that mean I have to flash my phone with its original ROM? Or is it fine with the one that I'm gonna put; which is the official 6.5 from HTC?
I need windows 6.5 for Canada Telus HTC Touch Pro 2. Have they released a version for Canada? If so, where could I find it?
I've been trying to upgrade my OS and when I attempt to download the update it gives me an error saying "this download is not suitable for this device" I believe it is because the download is for european phones.
In addition to this question, has anyone had any success unlocking the Touch Pro 2 from Telus to Rogers?
A quick response would be muchly appreciated.
Thank you!!!
ROMs are carrier specific, for the most part. If it isn't on the HTC website, only Telus would be releasing a new ROM. Most carriers have stopped development since the phone has been discontinued. Not likely you'll see a new OEM ROM if one hasn't come out already.
that sucks!! I don't understand why the rest of the world is compatible with this upgrade but canadian clients arn't? doesn't make much sense to me. but thank you for the reply

Complain to your carrier. The stock ROMs are locked to the carrier they are released to by design. If Telus doesn't have an update for it on their website, then there isn't one available. As far as unlocking it to use on another cellular network, you would have to obtain an unlock code from your carrier. This would SIM unlock your device, allowing you to use any GSM carrier with your phone.
So is this leaked ? Yes ! Has anyone actually done it?
I wrote something about it... on here
The ROM contain a final unbranded RTM build of “NoDo” ready to be flashed to devices. The latest leak is a HTC 7 Pro ROM for European devices. WPCentral sends news that Windows Phone enthusiasts at XDA-developers posted a ROM image the HTC 7 Pro on Wednesday. The ROM upgrades the device to the final version of “NoDo” ahead of Microsoft’s release. The site has also previously supplied ROMs for the HTC 7 Mozart, HTC HD7 and HTC 7 Trophy. All leaked ROMs are unbranded European versions, which do not include carrier customizations. Owners wishing to flash the leak updates will need to use a “Gold Card” method to bypass a “VENDER ID” error. Some users have reported success by flashing original carrier ROMs and then simply switching out the raw update file. The process is not ideal for the average user but those wishing to pursue unofficial methods can find the links above. Download link (this yet has not been tested)
thats almost the right way to promote your site, now you only need a real url
and yes we did it, all we need now is some developer/side-load unlock
Yes
Hi markomarkogame
Yes, I have done it. I have flashed the Orange UK 1.30 ROM to my Orange UK HTC 7 Mozart. It flashed without the need for anything complicated such as a gold card.
I haven't done much with the phone yet but it does seem slightly smoother in terms of the animations. Also it has copy and paste and differentiated marketplace search.
Cheers

I would check the HTC-HD7 forums, but from what I gathered it does. Any unbranded HTC phone should be able to run this update. Of course, you could just unbrand your phone now and wait. According to microsoft unbranded phones should receive the update soon...
