Yes I have push gmail by using acrivesync and it worked for me about the last 3 weeks but today it says:
A network or server error is currently preventing your device from synchronizing with your exchange server. If this condition persists, please contact your system administrator.
Support code: 0x85010005
Last synchronized: Today 06:44am
I have almost the same problem ... before I change my phone, it worked fin on my iphone, and on my diamond for test, but now, nothing since 3 days ...
After a few tests, If I uncheck mail the synchro works fine, it should be a problem on google side ... ****
It was working earlier this morning....phew...I thought it was just me having the issue.
Hopefully Gmail will fix the issue.
I deleted my sync and re-established. no longer getting error.
try it out....see if that works for you.
I did it almost 10 times, got 2 or 3 mails, and then nothing else ...
it is fine now, i was getting no email updates previously, but now works fine
I don't, currently, sync my mail. But I do have other problems syncing with Gmail, for contacts and appointments.
1) It never actually synchronizes the first time I press sync (i have mine set to manual) I have to press it a second time for the data to actually sync.
2) Even if I make NO changes to any contact it always has a list of 20+ contacts it is updating (what is it updating??)
3) I stopped using HTC Favorites tab because all contacts in this list get screwed up everytime I sync with google, mainly loosing their photos and rearrangin how I have names displayed (reverts only these few back to standard last name first)
4) DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use Tmo My Faves if you plan on using google sync. If you do every time you sync through google Tmo will go through and change your my faves contacts back to how they feel they should be displayed, including getting rid of custom ringtones for that contact and their photo. And you will get a txt message for every change tmo did.
5) Evey couple of weeks it tells me a change on the server requires every contact, and or appointment, to be erased and re-synced! Terrifying the first time it happens, not knowing if you are gonna loose anything.
These are almost too much trouble to keep using google sync... and yet I persist with it, hoping these stupid bugs will be worked out.
I have since dropped my faves, since I have the good customer unlimited plan. And have stopped using the HTC favorites tab. Even so, I still get problems with some of the contacts that used to be favorites.
WIll try again to use push ...
It seems like Google is still working some stuff out. I had the same issue and another as well.
Apparently the HTC favorites thing stores some data in proprietary places in your contacts and so that causes problems.
Also, for me unticking "Tasks" for syncing has solved the problem before.
Gmail Emails are not instant, I switched to Live because of this!
Hi All, new here...I have a HTC TP2 with Winmo 6.5 installed. Here's my situation, a couple days ago I used to received emails from my gmail account, now all of a sudden I can just send and not recieved any emails from gmail. My yahoo and hotmail accounts are running fine. Anyone have any ideas why my gmail is not receiving??? I spoke to one of the TMobile reps and it seems all they can do is HARD RESET the device. Any help? thanks in advance
I use Seven for my push e-mail, google, yahoo, exchange all work flawlessly. Have you made any changes to your device around the time it stopped working?
no i haven't changed anything on my phone which is kinda weird, I really don't want to hard reset the phone since restoring things is taking a toll on me. I would like for it to be a last resort but on the other hand I might just end up doing it since Im flirting with the idea of flashing to one of the custom roms here in xda. any ideas?
just my two cents... yesterday I discovered that all of a sudden my Gmail account had disappeared from the account selector (leaving only Outlook), I could still see the emails but couldn't reach account settings or nothing
Somehow it returned, but with most settings in blank.. imap and smtp server, SSL options, all were in blank.. no idea why or how this happened, but filled all blanks up again and now Gmail's working fine...
Trouble w/ Gmail after WinMo 6.5 Sprint upgrade
Just upgraded my Sprint TP2 to WinMo 6.5 today. Why this update took so long to come to Sprint customers is beyond me, but overall, I'm pretty pleased with the update, save one problem that has made me "strategically relocate" my phone with sudden velocity...twice.
I've been trying to set up Gmail since this evening, with zero success. I had my Gmail account set up on the device before the upgrade/update, but now...
I've tried every known method to enter the settings, but whenever the device tries to connect to the Google servers, it tells me I need to check my user name & password, even though I've entered both correctly.
I've even logged into my Gmail account on my laptop, changed the password just to make sure I've entered the correct one, & the device still kicks back to the user name/password screen saying the settings are wrong...I KNOW THAT THEY'RE NOT!!!
I've seen several posts from users experiencing trouble with Gmail on 6.5, but these have all seemed to stem from Wi-Fi vs. other types of connections.
I've also installed Google Sync & my Gmail has DL'd to my device, but I prefer to get my e-mail through the normal account setup.
Sorry so lengthy & thanks in advance for any advice anyone may be able to provide.
not sure if it is googles problem or our phones but i spoke to a couple of people with iphones and gmail accounts and it seems that they arent having any problems receiving their gmails. Did windows take a dump sometime this week?

Not sure if this will help, but... when username is requested, you have to type the complete idem, i.e., [email protected]er ... some time ago I had same problem as yours and solved it after realizing that I was including my username alone, without the @myserviceprovider.com part

Thanx, sirgal. Actually, I had tried both ways - one with just the username and one with my entire e-mail address, both to no avail.
However, I say "had tried" because, lo & behold, today just as I'm about to contact HTC tech support to see if 6.5 was causing Gmail probs, I decided to try creating the account ONE MORE TIME. Murphy's Law prevailed and, for reasons unbeknownst to me...IT WORKED.
I did everything the exact same way as I tried yesterday, but this time success. I'm taking a strictly "don't ask, don't tell" approach as to why it worked today.
Thanks again for the suggestion!
I'm having a similar problem hopefully someone can help with. I've setup my gmail account and had it working fine until without any cause I can determine, the accout disappears except for still showing up on the TouchFlo e-mail "tab." When this first happened, I started from scratch and setup "Gmail2" which also worked for a while. The reason I had to name it Gmail2 is that when I tried to use Gmail as I had originally done it tells me that this name is already in use. It just did this to me again and sure enough, I had to name the account Gmail3 this time around. I don't understand why they are "disappearing" nor why the name is still in use and the previous 2 versions still show up on the TouchFlo e-mail tab and nowhere else.
Odd question, or at least I think it is as this is the closest thread to the actual problem I'm having that I've found here or the HTC forums. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

I have the exact same happened to me multiple times in the past. The only solution I found is to restore from a previous backup. Fortunately I backup at least once per week so it wasn't too disastrous but still annoying.
Unfortunately, I haven't ever done a backup (honestly never thought of it for a phone) so that isn't going to help. What I'm hoping for is if someone else has seen this and how to delete the ghost accounts. Thank you wearefree for the help.
I've setup my gmail account on my desire HD. Sometimes it worked well, I can receive notification just when I received a mail, but sometimes it will be several minutes later, and for now, it didn't show up at all.
I've checked all settings, it's correct. And if I changed some settings at sync&Account options, it'll show push message several minutes later; but after a while, it won't work again.
I never faced these problems when I use Iphone. So could you give me some advice on this issue?
BTW, when I received a message from i.e. whatsapp messenger, the push mail notification will show up at the same time.
My GMail push works flawlessly. Instant notification as soon as I get something. No idea what's wrong with your account/settings though, sorry. The only thing you could mess up is turning synchronization off for the whole device or even only for your GMail account by accident, but you said you checked that...maybe double-check it again, that would be my only idea right now
Always remember you need data connection for gmail to work.

Thanks to all, maybe network problem.
I finally got my notification 30 minutes later. It's work status seemed not stable. And today I got my mail notification much sooner, I mean less than a minute.
Maybe it's network problem, I'm not sure because it's all OK when I used Iphone.

i get exactly the same problem...
i do notice that notifications work perfectly when i am on my wifi..however under cellular data (3G or H) sometimes the notifications can take their time..sometimes it comes immediately..and i know because i set up a notification widget at my work pc and that works flawlessly,
so what i end up doing is to set exchange for gmail!..
and that works perfect..well almost 99% of the time..
for this to work..you set up exchange put your username and no domain..
and server for gmail is m.google.com
set the update for push..and thats it..
now gmail on cellular network gets push correctly...
it sucks cuz i rather use the gmail client...but it will do for me...
so ..am guessing that if it works on wifi ..it might be an issue with the cellular network..i am with vodafone..
I'm with Optus and I get new mail notifications on my phone near instantly over 3G.

I noticed this too when I started using my phone
exchange server seems to be real push, gmail app takes a while to update for me but i like the gmail app more than the standard mail app, maybe theres a better one out there.
Just recently my phone is getting hung up when trying to download my e-mail. It can't log on, then it won't disconnect. I've tried a hard reset and still no luck. I'm connecting to a g-mail account. I've been running the same ROM for over a yr and haven't had any issues until just this week. Any one else out there have an issue with this?
Looks like this is a Google problem. They're researching it. Read about it here.
The word is if you disable automatic send/receive and manual download instead, it should work.
However, I'm in the process of trying this now, and it's doing the same thing.
thanks, I just set-up a yahoo account and it's working good. Guess I'll push my e-mail that way until they get it figured out.

"Word" isn't entirely correct... my phone still hangs at login stage even after a hard reboot. Switching to POP access from IMAP looks more promising.
Neither worked for me, so if it works for you, you're one step ahead.
A fix for another problem seems to have fixed the problem for those who started experiencing the hanging since May 19th.
Google is still in the process of confirming whether this fix is officially *the* fix for mobile Gmail.
I can confirm on my phone that Gmail (at least manual send/receive) is now working again. I just switched back to automatic send/receive to see if that works as well.
Hi do not know if these were witnessed feel that your phone so me and my other friends was what happened to us

It would be my guess we all experienced the same thing... someone at gmail goofed. Wasn't limited to any one device or carrier. They seem to have fixed it now, mine's been working fine since the day after my last post.
Searching the internet I found something on a topic also called the sleep of death occurred only for the HTC Touch Pro 2 which had the Windows Mobile 6.5 version will leave the link in case you want to see.

This may have been addressed, but a search didn't reveal anything exactly like this. Please bear in mind that I'm an Android newbie!
I bought the Incredible 2 last Thursday. No rooting, nothing weird, still mostly stock. This morning it's running very slow, screen transitions jerky, etc. and even text based email takes minutes to open. I messed around in settings, and notice that Mail (com.htc.android.mail) is using 48% of my battery, more than twice what the screen is using! I force close, and the phone speeds right up, lag is gone, screen transitions smooth but, minutes later, Mail comes back on line and the phone goes to crap.
I've used more that 1/2 my battery in two hours. I notice that the uptime is 1 hr 58 minutes, and the awake time is 1 hr 44 minutes, so I assume that the mail app is also preventing the phone from sleeping.
Any advise will be greatly appreciated!!
This may sound obvious, but did you try resetting your phone? Turn fastboot off (settings > applications > click fastboot so it is unchecked) then kill mail, and before it has a chance to restart hold the power button, then shut down. The restart option might work, but for things like this I prefer a good old fashioned power down, power up. Anyways, power your phone back on by pushing the power button for two seconds or so. Then see how it goes. This is an error that I have not heard about, but a reset is a universal problem solver. If it doesn't work, tell us what kind of email accounts you have set up (pop, imap, exchange) and how many, and also the settings for checking the mail.
Hopefully the restart will fix it though.
Sent from my Incredible 2 with Xda app
Thanks! My limited Android knowledge told me to try a restart, but I actually didn't know how on the Incredible 2!!
Anyway, the problem went away for a couple hours, then came back!
I use a POP server for my work email, and gmail for personal. I really don't understand this, as nothing has changed since yesterday, but the phone has slowed to a crawl!
Try a third party email app. I don't know of any offhand as I only use gmail on my phone. My gmail account checks my imap account on another host so it's all together, and I can distinguish which account is which on the emails through gmail tags.
Umm I think this will require a factory reset, because you can't uninstall stock mail nor freeze it without root
Sent from my ADR6350 using XDA App
You can temp root, and freeze the stock mail app if that is the way you decide to go. Instructions found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068544. But that sounds more like something faulty with the software, because like I said, I have never heard of that happening before. I would take it back to Verizon, complain incessantly, and point out that you could have fixed it yourself if the phone had an unlocked bootloader
Do you have them set to check mail constantly, push, or are they on a delay? Can you use imap for work instead of pop? I have four accounts set up on mine, including an exchange, and three imap accounts. The fact that it just started happening leads me to believe something broke in the system, though. A factory reset and re-flash may indeed fix the problem. Also, do you have good 3g coverage most of the day? Check your time without signal under battery status in settings. Click on cell standby and it should give it to you. Or are you using wifi most of the day?
Sorry for the rambling questions, just writing stuff out as I think of it. Trying to narrow down what the problem could be.
Thanks, again.
I'm using the mail settings that the school requires, so can't change them. Currently set only to update when the app is opened.
I generally get good cellular reception at work, and I have wifi as well. I've been trying it with or without wifi today, with no changes. I'll try a reset and see if that helps.
I just mentioned trying another app because I don't see these problems and I do not have the stock mail app configured in any way.

I've had the Inc 1 and now the two. I've always turned off the (auto sync) this would require yyou to open your mail and manually refresh or of you use the sync all widget it works that was as well. Seems to save a ton of battery only drawback being you have to manually check it. Ie. No mail notifications. Just a thought maybe you want to give it a shot.
Thanks, everyone. Using a combination of all your advise, the problem is resolved. I factory reset the phone, then installed only my gmail account. This worked fine all of yesterday, so I finally got off my butt and learned how to use gmail to read and send my work email last night. That seems to be working well. I'm still getting email notifications, but gmail is only using 3% of my battery, as opposed to the 48% that Android mail was using.
Still don't know what caused the trouble, but I'm very pleased with the solution.
Thanks again!!
Email battery problem also on Nexus S
I have also the problem that the standard email is consuming the biggest part of the battery - mostly over 50%. I use an exchange account and a pop email, but both not synchronized automatically (manual sync interval), and I do not use them so often - max. one sync a day...
Anyone an idea how to improve this?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

K-9 Mail
I had also the problem (as mentioned above) with the standard android email programm and a so related short battery life. Since I deleted all email configurations there and installed K-9 mail client instead, battery life improved a lot. Before I could use my phone about 2 days, now it lasts for around 5-6 days...
