Microsoft Recite - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Does anyone know where you can still download this from anywhere?
The download link has disappeared and I thought this would be a good application for the Touch HD
http://recite.microsoft.com/Pages/download.aspx
The new page mentions the service stopping on 31 December but not sure how that would be enforced.

Deepfish - Microsoft's New Web Browser

Go check out there site and view the demo. It is pretty slick I've already got it on my Dash and I like it. It's a bit slower but for what it does I can deal with it.
Also its a limited private beta so go download it while its still available.

"Thanks you for your interest in Deepfish; At this time the tech preview has reached the limit of initially available installations. We will send you a notification if we make additional spots available at a later date."
Is the download SP specific? If not anyway we can get it?

Stole the link from over at Howard Forums. Thanks to juiceppc.
However, please note it requires a 16 digit activation code. Bugger.
16 zeros get you a bit further but it doesnt load pages. They really don't want us to test it do they.

in the blog of the deepfish page someone is annoyed, that this is proxy rendering. does that mean, that you browse through a microsoft proxy? that would explain, why javascript, flash, secured pages and so on are not supported.
or do i understand that wrong?
I assumed that it was rendering on the device because before you go to a page you see it downloading an amount of data which looks like it downloading the html and all the images.
But, I havn't done any packet sniffing to see if it does in fact download through an MS proxy. So it might...And if it does it must also download where all the links are so you can navigate them with the cursor. And also stuff about where any form controls are. And "Bandwidth optimized rendering for faster content delivery." which suggests it is.
At the moment in my mind its 50:50 might be rendered on a server, might be on the device. Or could be a bit of both, like html downloaded direct and images via a server. Lets packet sniff and see...I'll be pretty dissapointed if it turns out to all go through MS.
I think this software is actually downloading the pages from a MS server. If you don't have the right code it won't let you pull information from the server.
I think things are pre-rendered on the server and then sent to the device in a special file format.
This is just my guess but I think that is how they are doing it.

everything is rendered at Microsoft as told on their site:
"Deepfish is a lightweight client application that leverages a powerful server side technology for delivery of content such as web pages to a Windows Mobile device."
really wish someone can share the code with me..

Microsoft Skybox?

Has anyone heard anything more on Skybox beta??
The last thing I've read about it was at:
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/02/06/microsofts-skybox-site-live-branded-my-phone/
And it's now called My Phone.
The article links to http://www.getskybox.com/, but I'm not able to access the website...

Visual Studio 2010 was realised on May 12th so I am guessing its the same thing
This might not be available to Express Editions

Correction:
April 12, 2010 was the official launch of visual studio 2010 worldwide.
And this MSDN Library is really updated from Microsoft @ May 2010, and it is not a joke.
I'm impressed you know. Specially because there is no MSDN Library for Visual Studio 2010.
You use the integrated Help Manager to install the necessary topics you wish to have information about, and can update these as well.
It's available for everybody, also Expression editions, under Help > Manage Help Settings
Here you can click "Install from Online", and pick for example, Windows Phone 7 as one of the things you want to install documentation for.
So effectively what you provide is your local downloaded version, likely full of unnecessary crap most people don't care about, hosted on a remote terrible slow mirror (is that even legal?), and how can we trust you haven't included malware in your package?
Really, it's pointless to try and distribute something Microsoft distributes themselves, specially when the result is a larger and more obscure package on a slower mirror. Instead you should be providing the information and help to others can install the documentation parts into the Help Library themselves.
And yes, it's called the Help Library now, not MSDN Library.
P.S. The Help Library for Visual C# and Windows Phone are combined around 260 MB. I pity those who downloaded 6,5 GB of useless data

[Q] chrome xda-developers.com malware

I tried to log on to xda this morning using chrome and received a Malware warning.
"www.xda-developers.com contains malware. Your computer might catch a virus if you visit this site."
Its not recived on the home page or the forums but only any page located above http://www.xda-developers.com/android/
my browser has no problem with
http://www.xda-developers.com/windows-mobile
Whats going on?
there was an attack on the site I think, at least I got redirected to a malware site once when I clicked page2 on the android news section, but afaik it's all gone now
check this link, should explain all: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=854561
me 2
Firefox 4.0 beta 7 also gives me a warning.
The main site, http://www.xda-developers.com/ is ok to view, but http://www.xda-developers.com/android/the-weekly-qa-week-16/ gets blocked right away.
WTF?
The site admins are aware, and steps are being taken to get the warnings removed, now the infection is gone.

Microsoft Research Touch Studio

I've recently come across the Touch Studio app and I'm loving everything about it so far. The only thing I haven't been able to find is an English forum with ideas and example codes, yes I know most of the code in Touch Studio is still fairly simple and self-explanatory but it would be nice to see what others are managing with it.
I have come across a Swiss site that has a few nice codes and some other awesome stuff. It would be awesome if we could start something like that here. I've now stopped playing in my spare time (sorry devs) and messing around with Touch Studio. This is just another thing that seperates WP7 from the rest, hope MS keeps up the good work.
For those who have never seen Touch Studio before you can find more info here:
http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/projects/touchstudio/
So is it a good place for someone who hasn't done any code or programming a good place to start? Can you use what you write for the phone it is on or does it still have to go to marketplace before it can be used and you have to download what you wrote from the marketplace to use it yourself? Answered. Do you have to get a dev permit(or whatever it is called) from MS to use the program at all? Answered.
Sorry just listened to podcast 48 on Social Times and the stuff you write is only on the phone, not sharable currently. So just the first question for anyone that have used it.
I have coded a few apps for personal use on my phone, and I would suggest microsoft visual studio for coding apps for WP7. There are great tutorials on the microsoft app hub website for first-time coders. I cant post links, but search microsoft app hub and have a look around that website. Very helpful
Yeah, as you noted the apps you write are only useable on your phone. But the latest version has an option for you to share the code.
I'm not sure how easy it would be for someone with zero experience. I did some very basic programming in Visual Basic 4 ages ago so I have the basic understanding of the simplest commands (e.g. IF THEN WHILE etc.). I don't think it is that hard to understand and should only take an hour or so to fully grasp the concept. There are some excellent tutorials online as well.
(Why) is TouchStudio no longer downloadable?

Folks, I have been wanting to try out developing some codes ever since I became aware of Touch Studio (a week or so back). Any idea why Touch Studio is NOT downloadable of late? It appears in Zune and you can read the description but no download facility is available. If the information helps - am using HTC Mozart, T-Mobile, based in Germany. Many thanks!
I was able to download it and run it. Using Samsung focus mango beta 7712
@Jason: Thanks Jason; I'll await the official Mango update (no clue when in Germany / T-Mobile); may be it will work out fine automatically thereafter. I got a comment from TouchStudioApp on Facebook: "we are sorry for the inconvenience; please stay tuned for the next update". Have asked them whether it's Mango or the next TouchStudio app they are talking about.
Yeah, I guess they took it offline till Mango, hope they have something exciting in store with the new APIs and such that Mango will bring.
well, i would love to see someone uploading the xap
edit: downloaded touchdevelop
Just recieved an update for TouchStudio it is now called TouchDevelop. Now it is at v2.0. The whole interface has been redesigned, you can now download and post scripts within the app and they have also revamped various other things. Slightly confusing at the moment but will have a look tonight to work the whole thing out.
