is there screen lock software for xdaiis

is there any software to lock screen for blue angel? thanks
Yes there is...
I just found an excellent program called "ScreenLock". It turns the screen off and locks all the buttons. The only way to unlock the screen is to press button 1 and button 4 together (on the XDAIIs this is the Calender and messenging buttons) or do a soft reset. This program is perfect for listening to music and also save battery life too.
The cab file is attached below. Drag it to your device and run it from there.
Hope this helps.

Cheers for this!
xdadom - top app, thanks

Yep, leapt straight in to my "must have" list.
Fantastic little tool!
The best thing I found to do was assign it a button like the "Record" button which I never used! You can then lock the screen with one touch.
Great when playing MP3s and beats paying loads of dosh for an iPod!

There's also MortSaver

Plenty of regular updates from the author, and highly configurable.

Thanks XDADOM, works on XDA1 as well.
On my QTEK 9090:
START --> Settings --> System (folder) --> Button lock
No need of 3rd party software.

button lock doesn't work if you want to keep on playing music.
problems with screenlock
Installed screenlock on my blue angel (SX66). When I launch it from the program panel, the screen goes black and then a moment later it flashes, the black then flashes. This continues until I manage to get a screen press in during the momentary flash at which time the screen then remains on and active. Not sure what is happening, anyone else see this or am I trying to use it incorrectly.
Thanks
David
is there anyway to change the unlock key(use other key except calender and message?) how?
I think they're the only keys that you can use. I expect that they are coded into the software itself.
on my imate
START --> Settings --> System (folder) --> Button lock
never the less, good aplication
tnx

i think you might installed it the storage card. i have same experience as you when i first time install it, you should install it to the default directory.
psShutXP
Try psShutXP, excellent freeware with lot of functionality
Do you guys use media player for playing mp3s? Cause it's pretty damn easy to configure a button to toggle the screen off. And you can still keep your buttons free for song functions like previous, next or volume up/down.
Cheers
screen lock
can anyone tell me if this is necessary on the new updated rom on xda 2s o2?

'holding' screen during mp3 playback

One thing I miss about my sony clie is the ability to 'lock' the screen during playback. Is there a similar solution for the blue angel?
You can turn the screen off with most music-player applications during playback, but I am not aware of any utility that will enable you to keep the screen on, but non-responsive to input, if that's what you mean.

Someone kindly posted the .cab for an application called screenLock that turns the screen off, locks all the buttons but still allows you to play MP3's etc (it's also perfect when you have bluetooth on for avoiding connection probs!). If you do a search you should find it.
Search for ScreenLock.cab
...or I'll post it here!
I couldn't live without this program!!! It turns the screen off and locks all the buttons. The only way to unlock the screen is to press button 1 and button 4 together (on the XDAIIs this is the Calender and messaging buttons) or do a soft reset.

Orbit turns on in pocket when alarm goes off or text arrives

Hi,
I am new to my XDA Orbit and am liking it very much. One annoyance (which is probably due to my ignorance) is that when I receive a text or an alarm goes off, my Orbit the device turns on / comes out of powersave mode and hence the screen is active whilst it is in my pocket (could be dangerous).
Is this the correct behaviour? Surely not, as input can be made from contact with your pocket? Is there a setting to change this behaviour? What does everyone else do?
Thanks in advance for any advice
Gary
Dosn't the XDA version have the screen lock like the mda?
It's a little padlock icon at the bottom of the today screen which says device unlocked, you tap it and the screen is locked from in pocket pressing, all buttons are locked too except the power button. when the device is switched on manually or by an event the screen is only active after using a 2 tap pattern, unlikely to happen by accident.
I must admit, I thought this was part of WM5 and not T-Mobile specific, strange it's not there on the xda.
It is possible to lock the screen before you turn the orbit off but it is a bit of a pain in the arse to have to remember to do that every time you turn off the device.
I was hoping for a program that would allow alarms and text message notifications without the screen becoming active.....
True, or you could re-train yourself to only do the screen lock and have the device auto-off in 3 mins or so, and it would be exactly the same.
Personally I find the screen wake up useful.
I can't say I've tried, but what happens if you go to Start - settings- Sounds & Notifications - Notifications
and go through all the text message received etc and untick "Display message on screen"??

this battery status plug-in works on mda compact iii and it has a setting to lock the device on wake up so all you need to do is switch it off to lock it.

So it does!! I didn't notice. This is an excelent piece of software to have anyway, so this is just a double bonus, unless you are unhappy with the 2 screen taps required to de-activate the lock.
Hitting the lock icon requires the stylus whereas the power button does not - much easier and intuitive.
Will have a look into the alerts settings
Thanks for your help
Can't say I've had any difficulty hitting the lock (and definately not the unlock buttons) with my thumb, one handed, but see above for auto locking option, you 100% don't need to get the stylus to unlock.
i auto lock when the screen goes off and unlock with my thumb one handed, easy and intuitive

GPS keeping it on

Does any one know how to keep the GPS working when the screen auto powers off with the O2 Orbit as I am using memory map and when the screen powers off I lose the tracking, until I power the device back on. I had a O2 mini XDA and this worked well with an external Bluetooth GPS receiver so is there a registry setting I can change in the Orbit to keep the GPS on ?
As I'm about to go trundling for a few days (UK, New Forest), and use the same program, I'm expecting that by simply telling the Orbit not to turn off after X minutes (Start - Settings - System - Power - Advanced Tab), and letting the backlight dim to the current setting (three mins), GPS will remain active and screen will auto dim. When I want to have a look re where I am, tap the screen, up pops the map, and Bob's your uncle or something.
Thanks I will test that, tomorrow as that seems sensible. doh!
What about if you want to put the device in your pocket though?
If you do as you suggest, then the screen and buttons will stay active and if you put the phone in your pocket, you will get all sorts of input that you don't want.
Is there perhaps someway to lock the screen but still to have the device on?
Hi
just got back from a weeks Treking in the lakes using my Orbit with MM.
No issues with Auto Power of when MM was running my orbit did not auto power of. (It does when MM is not running)
I have a PDAIR Flip leather case and had no issues of miss pressed buttons when it was in my pocket.
Hi Folks - I'm using VJdevicelock. There's an option to turn of the display and lock the device. Meanwhile my Orbit keeps tracking my current route with ozi or mysporttraining gps without the danger of starting other programs accidentally in my pocket.

[Q] Stop my screen from rotating...

Okay... I'm sick of it now. Sure, it was a cool little thing, my first phone with a G-sensor so it knows when I turn it and rotates the screen. But now I'm just sick of it. It rotates if I tilt it a little too far when browsing the web. If I'm reclining and I grab my phone it thinks I'm holding it sideways and rotates when I'm looking at my emails. It rotates the lock screen when I pull it from my hip holster and then I have to wait for it to rotate back.
It's just becoming annoying. Can I just turn the rotating via the G-Sensor off? I still want it to rotate when I open the keyboard, but that should be the only time it does it.
Using Total Commander go to the following directory in the registry:
HKCU\software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\ModuleName
Now simply delete the programs you do not want to auto-rotate. Opening the keyboard will still enable landscape as usual.
