This is my port of Cyanogen's latest Eclair build, v5.07-stable.
It is basically mssmison's 5.07-test3 build updated, I used the same process he did to port this one.
Included Apps:
-Connectbot
-Astro
-RogueTools
-LinPack
-HomeSwitcher
Notes:
-No major problems found so far (besides Eclair-specific problems like the Camera not working).
-Speed is comparable to other Eclair builds, maybe even a bit zippier at times.
-It should be fully compatible with any themes/mods made for Cyanogenmod v5.07-stable. (Although my attempt at flashing this theme sent my phone into an "android.power wakeup" loop, so be cautious!)
--Darkstar theme isn't working either, thx for trying @thebulletfromhell!
-It is set to 120DPI by default, so if running anything other than 320x240, you'll have to use RogueTools to adjust it. I am currently running it at 320x240x120dpi and haven't experienced many problems, except the top and bottom of the Dialer are cutoff, button's still reachable though. (If someone wants to help me fix this, please do, I just don't know where to start)
-Wifi support for the Kaiser is built in, should work out of the box!
-Starting with v1.2, Userinit.conf is added to the root of your SD, by default it has 16MB of Compcache, but this can be adjusted by editing the file.
Download! [Last updated on 5/29/10]
Changelog:
v1.3
-Removed userinit.conf, now everything is run directly from /system/bin/userinit.sh
-32MB Compcache by default
-Removed overclocking from the get-go. You can set it manually via RogueTools.
-Userinit.sh now renice's com.android.phone to try and improve ringing delay.
v1.2.1
-Removed redundant wlan.ko
-Replaced wlan.ko with kallt_kaffe's
-Reverted a change to userinit.sh that was causing awful performance
v1.2
-Removed Dropbox, Speedtest, Twicca, Shazam, 3Banana Notes, and LiveWallpapers
-Added Camera back (Fixes FC when trying to crop a wallpaper)
-Fixed Facebook Sync
-Userinit.conf is added to the root of SD card on first boot. This allows you to control Compcache, swap, and many other settings.

Woah, it's weird being in a different forum.
What is updated in this new version (1.1)? I'm still running the first one you posted in the Vogue forums (on a Vogue) and it's working great.
Cool!
Gonna try this one out.
Thanks a lot!

The updated version has wifi working for Kaiser, and some compcache tweaks done to /system/bin/userinit.conf. The first version I think I disabled compcache entirely, and it really showed once you got the build fully loaded.
any screens? how to install themes on Kaiser? Little guide please...
just downloaded going to give it a try
all live wallpapers dont work and show force close (exclude polar clock)
but its cool and fast (default it set at 450MHz and i set it to 500MHz)
Bench at 500MHz: MFLOPS:2.141
Times: 2.53s
Norm Res: 3.36
Precision: 2.224...
Maybe you add-in many of not neccessary app..
and one very good thing.. i have i think 320x428 and 120DPi in RogueTools. and its less blurry than thats sets in myn
Congrats for good rom.
exist CM with sense 2.1 on kaiser?
Compared to super eclair it has a few advantages:
-language dutch is included and fully working
-more options: look at call settings.
-market is fully working (for now), but no paid apps (super eclair market broke after using a time, not all apps can be found).
But less free ram.
Not really worth upgrading for me (I have 2 kaisers).
i've installed this build on my kaiser and it works great.
tested the wifi, the market, both work great. bluetooth turns on but i haven't had the chance to send or receive any files or to connect it to my wireless headsets.
did not test the data yet.
installed helix launcher and i think it moves a little bit faster than the regular home screen.
thank for the upload

Here's a guide to installing to NAND. The build is not themed at all, so you can check out the official Cyanogen thread for screenshots, they should look identical (besides a smaller res).

Yeah I just noticed the Live Wallpapers crash, didn't try this out before. Not sure if it's possible to fix it, I don't remember them working on any other Eclair builds.
Also, I noticed that /system is running low on space, so I will definitely try to trim some fat by removing pre-installed apps.

Not that I know of. But there is a QVGA Android phone with Sense coming out sometime this summer, and I'm sure someone will attempt to port it.
From the vogue thread...
Great build, I'm running it right now, and it thus far seems to be fast and stable! (bumped up the o/c to 500)
Two pieces of feedback...
If you can get facebook sync to work with the most current facebook app (the one with the "inbox" button rather than the "take photo" button it would be amazing. As of now, the only way to get facebook sync to work is to run the Moto Droid apk, which is the previous version.)
Anyway to get full market from the getgo? I have marketenabler working, but it isn't always consistent.
That being said, amazing build. Good work.

@GeJohnO: Looks like this is a known issue with the original Cyanogen
A few known issues;
* Facebook from market breaks sync for Market users (see forum for alternative apk) - only on Dream, Sapphire is OK. Blame Facebook.

I'll look into including whatever alternate APK in the next build.
Also I found that taking out the Camera app causes Gallery to FC when trying to crop a wallpaper, so I'll fix that as well.
I just got a text message from the 24th of this months with super ecalir lite, I don't know if this version hzs those issues too?

The darkstar theme hasn't been released for 5.0.7 stable. The most current release is for test5. This may be why it's not working for you
I tried mssmison's test 3 out, and it was problematic. A lot of stuff would end up resetting the phone, back to the start up animation. Haven't tried this one yet, but my experience with Eclairs have been bad so far.
Wish there was a way to run Android on both NAND and SD cards. That way, I can test them out on the SD card, without destroying my NAND installation.
Running this port since yesterday and I must say I'm really impressed. Fast, responsive and also it seems not to drain battery as fast as other builds.
Any chance of getting Corporate Calendar in the next version (currently Exchange sync works only for Mail and Contacts in this build).
Version 1.2 posted! Changelog in the OP.
I tried adding the modded Market, but it kept FC'ing whenever an app would go to install. Looking at the thread, it seems like a known issue, without a fix that I could find

Suggestions for 1.3
- Remove /system/etc/wifi/wlan.ko (not needed)
- Replace wlan.ko /system/lib/modules/wlan.ko with the attached version (I believe it works better for Polaris users)
I was about to suggest increasing the wlan scan interval but I noticed that you hade allready done that.
I've had problems with builds that have sensors.msm7k.so all by itself so I added the sapphire sensors before I installed v1.1 as a precaution but I'll try without doing that once I reinstall with v1.2 and I'll let you know how it goes.
I managed to get Incubus's Superhero 2.1 work on our Diamonds.
Special thanks to bheremans
This build runs only on an EXT2-partition.
You may prepare your device accordingly. If you don't know how to do this then visit my homepage or my first NOSQUASH-thread (see my signature) for informations on how to prepare your internal memory / sdcard.
What's working: Calls / WiFi
Not tested: GPS / MMS / Audio etc. -> tell us your experiences
Known issues:
First boot needs time: Let your device boot-up and don't disturb it for minimum 10-15 minutes. After that you may setup WiFi.
Notice: I had to reboot my device after setting up WiFi to get phone / calls and my carrier to work.
Further issues:
Seems like this first release consumes too much RAM and reboots Home Screen.

Thanks go to Balsat for his latest builds and also Incubus for his Superhero ROM

nahhhh this is for updates
Did you get the keyboard size fixed ? I ran it some time but when you open a lot of applications the home screen reloaded when going back to the homescreen. If I'm not mistaken this is becasue not enough ram in our diamonds..
Hi bheremans.
I just made a quick port w/o testing it so that others might try it, too (after I've uploaded it). I even didn't get my phone or wifi to work. So just let's look how far we will get this running together. Perhaps some other guys may help us out. But I need to look into some things and update files later. I am at work now and could only boot it up w/o testing. So far, this runs very smooth
Here are the problems I had when testing
- Home screen reloads when going back to home : memory problem
- Keyboard, dialer and other htc widgets are messed up : resolution problem, maybe this can be resolved with other dpi or resolution settings in startup or user.conf file
- cannot add google account
- camera (knwon problem, kernel related)
- mail / contact / phone / browser icon are on homescreen 4, homescreen 3 is the default screen : you can drag them to screen 3
- cannot use mail shortcut icon on homescreen (application not installed) , but you can open mail via programs menu
- sending sms messages fails
Still a lot to fix but I like this rom
I like it, too. Just to let you know. I have succesfully ported Super Eclair Lite from Incubus! Will release tomorrow!

looks good, but there are a lot to fix.
but i'm happy, that i've managed to start an ext2 android after a lot of trying with the first neopeek androd (donut. thanks a lot. i'm waiting for the next, a better ext2 porting to really have the feeling... Neopeek, thanks for the instructions
You can try the light rosie.apk in the forum, maybe the ram usage is lower
Nice Work Hope it will run good someday
Guys help!I try to run Superhero on my Diamond and it just won't work!It boots allright, but after it shows the android splash screen and the hero lockscreen appears,it just gets stuck there and, after some minutes (3 or 4) it reboots into WinMo...What now?
OHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I LOVE YOU NEOPEEK :
It's the version I dreamed of...i will test now and report
I tried to port this rom myself before without success, maybe because of less time :
thank you
ok, my experience :
- Wlan was ok directly on startup. Browsing is fast
- Keyboard is to small
- Homescreen loads very slow
- Back Button doesnt really work (because of ram usage ? )
- Android Market is missing
- Fast...but not really fast if you tried a Donut version
Maybe Super eclair lite will be faster...-> no HTC sense
Thanks for your work!
CyanogenMod 6.1 Barebones "Gingerbones" Release 5.25 01/20/2011 + 4.55 Re-release!
I am releasing my Barebones CM6.1 froyo release! It was based off scooters CM6.1 I took it and stripped it as much as I could while retaining most of the functions in the phone. It has ADW for the launcher and on my phone overclocked to 572 mhz with JIT enabled I get a nice 3.943 Mflop/s on it. I can easilly say it is the fastest build for the kaiser ever as of this posting
Features are : Camera, Contacts, Market, Messaging, Phone, Settings, Super user app, Callibrate and spare parts. If you guys want me to I can make an even more stripped version but I feel this one is stripped pretty far.
(Note: Linpack score was obtained with my own copy of the 4.55 build which has linpack odex'd, attached is a rar with screenshots of proof of score and overclock)
NOTE: RLS 5 needs the account and sync settings apk to sync with google. It is attached on the bottom as an android update.
Download here - Current builds
RLS 5.25 - If all issues are fixed then this is my final build until CM 7 arrives for us. It fixes FC issues with a few apps. Also has Xbin fix and market update from Daedric. Also below is an update to bring your 5.1 install to 5.25. Due to the low adoption rate of the Deodex build I am neglecting to include it since the 5.25 update will work on the 5.1 deodex build.
Odex

5.1 to 5.25 Update
http://www.mediafire.com/?b65n42rj6ixho96
RLS 4.55 Odex - Built with Scoot RLS 4c fixed calender sync issues? (Someone tell me if I fixed them or not) and also changed boot animation to fat free froyo as the old one got boring. Same as Build 4 minus the boot loop bug caused by certain configurations. Added auto odex script and updated modules.

RLS 4.55 DeOdex - Same only de-odex'd without the odex script.

Optional -
Google apps android update - Contains calander, email, browser and google voice
Put in andboot folder on SD and in boot menu choose to run the update rather than install android.
Note: This is by now an out-dated update, install and update google apps before using.

HTC IME- Added per request
Same instructions as above just unrar the tar file first.

Archived Builds
5.1 fixes a storage bug in 5.0.
RLS 5.1 Odex - Based on nightly CM 6.1 source a couple days before 6.1 stable. Changed theme to have gingerbread animations, languages cut down, re-added CM wallpapers. Changed some files to smaller sizes. Re added VPN support. Added auto odex script to downloads. Made with fewer languages but includes the vast majority of the ones that were voted on. More features, smaller sizes was the aim of this build.
http://www.mediafire.com/?209cxuh4ikvptwv
RLS 5.1 De-Odex
http://www.mediafire.com/?kzc3l33vh11dq4e
RLS 4 - Removed due to bugs, waiting for Scoot RLS 5 to come out for RLS 4 instead. RLS 4 was a very minor incremental update. Not worth implementing the fix for the crash that was happening for something so minor, use RLS 3 instead. It is stable with all the speed.
RLS 3 Deodex'd - Added many languages, changed vendor.apk and changed a few font files to slightly smaller versions and added sounds from clemsyns release. Also added calibrate and spare parts back in due to their small size and importance to some users. Removed openvpn, busybox and RLSSI as these functions are rarely used.
http://www.mediafire.com/?5ioe4z80db9e7dm
RLS 3 Odex'd - Same as above only odex'd which is smaller and faster but not as customizable with themes
http://www.mediafire.com/?py137bd6yg7qymi
RLS 2.1 - Added provision.apk back in to resolve some screen and call received bugs. Will remove again when issue is fixed with CM6.1
http://www.mediafire.com/?dgtq5qxsxnnjxxx
RLS 2 -Removed due to serious bug
RLS 1

Feel free to let me know of any bugs or requests you guys have!
Thanks go out to DZO,Scooter,L1quid,Thoughtless Kyle and all the other android devs who make our kaiser live longer

bump as this thread was nowhere to be seen when I just uploaded it. Sorry if anyone complains about tripple post.
heads up in your next rls you dont need provision.apk in there either
also why 2 keyboards they are huge as far as filesize
Because when I removed the HTC one I had continuous errors so I figured it was best left not to mention i've seen a lot of things that need the other keyboard. I will remove provision in the next RLS, since I saw it was questionable if it was needed or not from what I saw.

basicly is your device can activate over the air from android its nice but ours cant, thats why we have you activate in windows mobile first
its weird they would need the htc keyboard since that isnt a part of cyanogen or AOSP, i havent had an issue without it in my light build

Removing the HTC keyboard is fine, i do for the version i install on my phone. Also, if you remove provision on CyanogenMod you will lose the lock screen on wake and lots of other things so i'd recommend leaving it in.

It's weird!! You get all sorts of issues if you compile the build without provision, even down to the shutdown menu losing options. Takes a lot of fiddling to compile from source that's for sure!

whats weird is in the fresh froyo builds i have removed the provisioning.apk everytime without an issue
After all that, I seemed to remember changing some code around because it annoyed me in RLS 2 so although i have to compile the build with provision included, the apk can be removed in RLS3. (Test it first though incase i messed something up!)
Just added RLS 2, removed several files and took off about 5 MB total space.
which kernel version do you suggest? what about battery consumption?
I would suggest to use the .32 kernel as that is what I have tested it with so far. As for battery consumption the build shouldn't affect it too much as that code resides in the kernel. But it should be a little better on battery given that the cpu isn't doing much.
Well I looked up some information on the market and evidently the market itself does not install the applications but merely passes on a command to the built in package manager to do the work so it looks like in the next few days ill put that to use to slim my build down even more.
Posted bug fixed version to resolve call and lock screen issues. Re-added provision.apk
Please add the dutch language (NL) back in your next release.
you're using 570mhz? i thought msm7200's max is 528mhz. when i set it to 570 with rogue tools, my system gets lags after 5 minutes.. (i have enabled gpu OC in Atools.)
I will see what I need to do to re-add the dutch language back in as I am not sure what file uses that. Also 528 is not its max but is just what most devices use. If yours is starting to lag after 528 after 5 minutes to me that signals some instability somewhere in your phone. I am sure most kaisers wont hit 570, at 576 or more when I turn my phone to sleep it doesnt come out so I keep mine at 570 as a precaution. What I did was in the nbh leave the cpu at 400 but then overclock the gpu. I set my cpu speed with rogue tools only.

as far as i know languages are controlled by the framework-res i hope im wrong though because if their is an easier way i would love to find it
This is a legend port, aiming to be a clean Sense 2.2 release with at least all hardware stuff working. The camera is a tough cookie and for now I can't get it to work. Might find time to continue to work on this in the future, but it will take time if ever.
Native (froyo) app2sd should work for apps which support it. Old school app2sd should work if you have a ext2/3/4 partition.
Default speed is 614/352 (smartass) - use SetCPU or similar app to change this.
Download:
Sengle-0.7.2 (Multiupload)
Sengle-0.7.2 (Desean)
Instructions:
I have flashed this over my old version (Sengle 0.7) and it seems to work fine.
If you have problems which are not in the known issues, you might want to try to do a full wipe (data, cache and ext partition) and install it cleanly.
Note: even if you do not wipe anything the dalvik cache is rebuilt, so the first boot will be very slow - have patience. Additionally, I had one restart of the sense and sound not working on the first boot. It was fixed after the second reboot.
Changes:
- Compcache enabled (should help avoid sense reloading)
- JIT enabled
- Wifi hack cleaned up (no more "error" when disabling wifi)
- RTL fix updated (also fixes Gmail and such now)
- Reboot menu (same one that was optional in 0.7)
- Cleanups by Elelinux for the setup wizard and widgets, as well as the identity of the hero and keypad.
- New install script by Elelinux
Regarding JIT: I have enabled JIT, even though the legend official sense, which this ROM is based on, is not built for sense.
HTC, wakeup! JIT was added in 2.2, and today 2.3 was released....
Anyway let me know if you find any trouble with this.
Known Bugs/Problems:
OpenGL issues
Camera
Wifi hotspot
LWP
Google navigation exits when showing the map, GPS Status exits randomly, Google Sky Map fails to load
Sound with navigation programs (or something like this)
Voice recorder says storage full.
Notification lights problems (I thought I got this one working )
Let me know if you find any further/new major problems (not just another 3rd party which does work)....
Future
For now I have given up on the major problems with this ROM. I will try to find some time to get back to this in the future but I'll be surprised if there is another update any time soon (I have a lot on my plate right now both in hero/android development and in RL).
History
Sengle-0.7 (Multiupload)
Sengle-0.7 (Desean)
Reboot Menu (included in 0.7.2)
RTL Fix (superseded by new fix in 0.7.2)
Compcache enabler (included in 0.7.2)
Thanks
This ROM is based on the MoDaCo r4 release for the legend. It was prepared in collaboration with capychimp and seo, and much of this port is thanks to them . Some cleanups and fixes by Elelinux (also install script ).

I think BT audio is one thing.
What are the big problems with bihariel's froyo sense other than BT audio and camera (which is still broken )?
But do note, this is a completely different build. bihariel's froyo sense is based on the Aria port and this is a legend port....
bihariel's froyo is laggy as hell, and froze all the time when i tried it out, so i hope your work is much better
cuz im using your froyo and thats awesome ROM so i expect this ROM is also gut
How does it work? Is it smooth? Is there problem with caller recognisation as in bihariel's Sense? What about battery?

Sorry have no idea about any of those. For me its slower than the CM6-based ROMs (like floyo) - but what can you do sense is pretty but slow . Too soon for me to know about battery life.
Let me know if you find any problems (except camera) and I'll see if I can do something about it, although my powers are limited because we don't have sources for sense....
Great news !
I will flash it in the morning and report
Good work !

I have been after 2.2 with sense for some time now but was never sure,
How ever i know you have done some nice work erasmux,
Will report back soon.
Erasmux thank u very much fir this great work. The ROM is really fast. Keep it up..
Have to say Erasmux
On first impressions this is sweet,
No major issues other than the cam,
All else seems to work grand.
thanks for the great work... no major issues so far..
will take it out later and how it performs...
Thanks for the great work! The ROM is really nice!
So far here's what I can see:
- Camera and Wifi hotspot don't work, as you mentioned.
- LWP don't work. Won't even show a preview.
- Google Navigation exits as soon as the map appears.
- GPS Status app (installed from market) exits randomly but sometimes manages to get a fix and keep running
- Much like in the Aria-based ROM there seems to be a problem with the time setting. My region is in DST and when I set the clock to update from the network it keeps changing from DST and back. It seems there is some "fighting" going on where the networks sets the correct DST time zone and something comes along and changes it back to non-DST.
Other than that everything seems fine.
Sensors, keypad backlight, Wifi, calls, 3G data, market, HTC apps and widgets seem to work very well.
Overall it's pretty stable and fast.
The ROM works great except I found after launching several programs, returning to home will see the HTC white screen then restart of Sense home.
btw, the Linpack score is around 2.56 with default CPU clock setting. Is JIT not enabled in Sense 2.2 ROMs?
Thumbs up Erasmux, thanks for this. Slick

Sense (even 2.2) is not compatible with JIT.
Just flashed. No problems and easy setup. Excellent ROM on first impression. Just the camera problem. Very fast, slick and excellent!
Many thnaks for this!

Voice search in contacts is out of the screen
Flash causes shut down of phone when take a pricture/make a video with a percentage of battery under 70% - or, if it is greater than 70%, after you take 3 pictures or make 1 minutes of video
No multishoot in camera for pictures (sens 4.x should have it by default)
Infinite scrolling doesn't work (even if it's enabled in Venom Tweaks)
Fixed Contact Voice Icon

When you use google translate taking a picture in order to recognize a text, the result is a blurred image where google transalte can't read anything
In settings -> memory, it's not possible to clear cache in system memory (file LMW.apk missing)

solved -> see link
Model name is wrong in settings -> about ("S710e" insted of "Desire HD with Beats Audio") -> Torxx said that you need to do a Full Wipe and Flash the complete ROM (1.2.2 and then apply 1.2.3 OTA)
Battery jumping when percentage of battery is lower than 60% -> Two possibilities: 1) A new battery is needed 2) Rom Problem -> with new p2pjack kernel, if it's the second one, the problem should be solved.
EDIT: Someone has some problem with this kernel (Beastmode 1.5 MOD v0.1 - 3.0.55) -> p2pjack said that he's going to provide a new kernel (3.0.56) that solve battery problem and headset problem (it was again a problem) -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35363497&postcount=32
too slow
Hi friends
i have a little problem, i did a full wipe and flash viper 1.21 then i flash 1.22 and then 1.23, my Dhd now is not very fast, my nofrill is set with performance and sio scheduler, i come from Sabsa and i am seeing a big difference about speed....any idea?
The Rosie needs some time to speed up as it is full sense..
Don't reboot to often

1) ViperDHD is Full Sense 4.1, instead of Sabsa Prime (Lite Sense 4.1)
2) Everytime you clear cache and dalvik, your ROM will be again smooth
3) More optimizations in Viper (this is only one of my thoughts...this ROM has a bigger team working on it...so, I suppose more effort -> better result)

1) face detector and smile capture won't work until a miracle will happen (Desire HD HW doesn't support it) -> maybe some trick SW can help, but nothing till now
2) use sony xloud to increase volume (Venom tweaks and then turn it on in the status bar)
3) battery drain is a common problem -> could be HW (you need to change your battery) or SW (try to flash the kernel posted by p2pjack -> MOD v0.1, or wait for the new one, maybe tomorrow -> you can find it in one thread in Desire HD development area)
4) Camera has several problem...so, you can only wait for the day when it will be completely fixed -> ICS is not GB

Other bugs
I've found two bugs
1) If some automatic text is shown in the status bar (e.g. New sms, with the first part of the text), and you tried to open the status bar, the current date overlaps the automatic text shown
2) If you try to open the camera and immediately after you open the status bar, this overlaps the camera app, but the bar itself disappears
it does not turn on wifi 1.2.2 no problem but Wifi does not work after installing 1.2.3
