I was wondering if anybody got confirmation for their $50 mail in rebate. The reason I'm asking is because I am an early upgrader.
When I read the TOC on the rebate site it said it has to have been a full 2 years since your last upgrade in order to be eligible for the $50.
I was only a little over a year into my contract since my last upgrade. Got the G2 pre-order from the website and it said I was eligible for full upgrade pricing.
I haven't sent in the rebate form yet.
It says you need to cut the UPC off of the box. Is there any reason I would need to keep the UPC? I'm outside of my buyers remorse period. I'm very happy with my G2 and have had no problems.
Any input is appreciated
My status changed from pending to approved a cople days ago. The card will ship on Nov 8th. I wasnt quite 2 years into the contract and had to pay the early upgrade fee.
Also because I purchased the phone from tmobile over the web they told me I didn't need the UPC from the box or a reciept, just the form from the website. That's all I sent and I was approved.
I went to a tmobile store 5 days before I was supposed to upgrade and they said come back in 5 days or else you wont get the 50 dollars rebate. But if i wanted the phone now i could get it now but obiously wouldnt get the 50 rebate. I waited ofc, and sent my rebate in last week.
I got my phone over the phone for $99, and it has been 21 months since my last upgrade, and I also got the rebate forms and papers with the package. Should I send it in? Would I eligible?

I got mine over the web from T-Mobile too. But when I went to the rebate website it said I could submit it online, but I would still have to mail in the UPC by itself.
I'll have to take another look and see if I can get around that.
I got my notification today that my rebate had been processed. I got my g2 on the 6th, and my rebate was sent in exactly 14 days later.
Hmmm that's a good point. I haven't gotten any feedback on that at all.

You can fill out the form on tmobilerebates.com. There is also a blank one you can print.
received the rebate debit card monday....last week i got a text saying it would be received with in 15-21 days but i got it now
Ah. I need a TMO account. too bad.
I have simplemobile I guess i cant get $50 USD back and i paid 650 hehehe
I'm looking to buy a sgs2 and I just wanted to see if there was any specifically good place where everyone buys them for cheap.
all I know is T-Mobile stores or calling customer service
thanks in advance
You can try Walmart stores. They will definitely be less than TMobile if they have them available. They don't have a restocking fee and have a 14 day return period. Also, Amazon is a good choice as well and will typically be less expensive if they have it in stock - http://wireless.amazon.com
Hope this helps.
Wireless Advocates inside Staples or Costco will have them on sale tomorrow and friday for only $179.99 +tax. So around $195 out the door!
Are those upgrade or new line prices?
I just checked Wal-Mart.com and they had it for 149.99 but it was for new T-Mobile customers. Upgrade was 199.99
I got mine from T-mo customer care.
Here is my price for upgrade.
Retail price $350.27 including sales tax, shipping, upgrade fee
minus 250.00 phone credit
Up front cost 100.27
minus 50.00 mail-in rebate (I'm not sure whether I will get it eventually or not)
Total cost $ 50.27
Besides, I got android preferred unlimited web for $20 monthly.
They charged me for UPS ground shipping, but actually they shipped it with UPS 3-day select. That was cool too!!
I think customer care is the best place if you are a long-time customer for them.
I've been with them for 6+ years.

No. Upfront is $529 - $250 makes it $279 - 50mir. Makes the phone $229.
Side note: Wal-Mart in the midwest still doesn't have them in stock.
I was wondering the same thing. I was checking out Amazon, but it's asking me what kind of data do I want, I already have it and it's cheaper so how would I go about overwriting that.
Can I just buy the phone w/o selecting what data I want?

Sams is selling also, but hasn't gotten them in stores yet :/ Definitely going to check out stapples and costco tomorrow!
I have them for $199.99 upgrade and $179.99 for new contract. $9.99 for standard shipping and.next business day shipped for $19.99. Pm me for details and email.

Also check Wirefly if you are in CA. They do not charge sales tax (note it is based on the full price of the phone so around $50). They had a free activation last week but that is over now. If you have a BOA debit/credit card you can look for the additup.bankofamerica.com promo with Wirefly for an extra $50. Last I checked WF was selling new phones for $179 and upgrades for $199. Upgrades are hassle free on their website and allows you to keep grandfathered plans w/o calling a rep. Also can do single lines of a family plan.
If u have a fry's electronics around go there. They also price match. They were advertising for $250 but when the rep checked my total with the $18 upgrade fee was $158!!

I would always go with TMO stores. They seem to be the easiest to deal with if there any problems with the phone. Nothing better than being able to walk into a store and get an exchange on the spot.

It really all depends on how much you want to save versus convenience. For me, I'd rather save the extra $$$ and deal with return delays/wait if need be. I've ordered my last 2 phones through Amazon and never had any problems. Shipping was quick and free and the second phone needed an RMA which was all done free. Only hassle was being without a phone for a few days, but that's what backups are for and one of the reasons I am with T-Mo so I can just swap a sim card into another phone.
On the whole I'd prefer the T-Mo store too because they will give best service and of course if you need to return it's the least hassle and delay, but I don't want to pay $279 + tax and have to deal with a mail-in rebate when I can just order it online for $199 w/no tax and free shipping and no rebates to deal with.

So you bought the phone off contract for $189?
I just pre-ordered the One X from Phones 4U and got a fab deal:
Phone Cost: £109.99
£28.50 per month, 600 mins, 3000 texts, 1GB data
Free HTC Media Link HD adapter (bonus!!).
I then phoned up Phones4U and told them I was thinking of cancelling the contract and just buying the phone outright. They then offered me the phone for free so I got £109.99 refunded!
Just thought I would share in case anything was thinking of buying one
Also the Media Link HD adapter is only free whilst on Pre Order.

hmmmm...
i've ordered from Amazon (£500 for the phone), and am planning to use a £10 monthly giffgaff contract (unlimited data), which works out at £620 over a year.
the phones4u deal is incredibly tempting, but i'd only want a 12 month contract, which limits me to vodafone, 500mb only, and £150 for the phone, £36 per month.
just not 100% sure i'll like the phone and stick with it when the iphone 5 / sg 3 announcements are out.

Good deal, I didn't see the last bit! Was just about to point out the phone is free with cashback from dialaphone. Good stuff
It still works out cheaper going for the 12 month Dial A Phone deal why:
£109.99 for the phone,
£432.00 for year contract,
£541.99 total cost.
Minus Quidco -£65 (4 more days to go still)
£476.99.
Assuming Quidco pays out 99.9% it does.
You get the HD link thrown in for free. You could potentially sell this if you don't use it otherwise if purchased separately will cost up to £80.
What's more if you don't like it, just cancel the contract obviously you'd have to pay off X remaining months if your few months into it but works to be few quid cheaper than buying from Amazon with the benefit of the free media link.
Long winded but ya know!
This way it works out slightly cheaper buying from Amazon but can also have GG as main sim, think of it spreading your costs instead of one hit.

It seems all new Vodafone 12 month contracts include a free 3 month test drive for data. So for 3 months you can use as much data as you want.
http://www.vodafone.co.uk/personal/mobile-internet/on-your-phone/data-test-drive/?cid=rdr-4870-01
Then you have an option to add additional data which works out £5 per 500mb or decline and stick with the standard 500mb.
That is a bloody good deal!!! I'm definitely interested in that. 12 month contract is perfect, that's such a cheap deal! Gonna have to speak to Orange and see if they can match that as I've been with them for 10 years. Was looking at £36 a month for 750mb but 18 month contract (phone upgradeable after 15) and free phone or so. Hmmmm. Thanks for your help!

Out of interest how many of you are planning on insuring your new One X?
just called Phones4u asking about doing an upgrade pre-order for the one X.
They offered me the one X black on tmobile, on the all you can eat plan (I asked for that as I wanted the data plan because I didnt want a limited one for those times I need it). Plus the HD media link for free on the £41 per month contract.
Im looking forward to getting the confirmation emails to know its all sorted

I was in Costco today and noticed that the T-Mobile GS3 has dropped to $199 no mail in needed. I bought two of them when it released last month. Since I was still within 30 days I was able to get it adjusted. Nice to walk out of Costco with an extra $100. Anybody else that bought from Costco should be able to do the same. I yelled at retention for a few days, eventually they gave me a credit. First they said I could return, pay the $50 and buy it from Wal-Mart, then that didn't work so they gave me a $50 credit. Then they said I could do it in a few days "when the system reset" showing me eligible for an upgrade. That didn't happen either. Then they said they would sell it to me from customer service for 199 or I could buy it from a retail store and they would credit my account. Worked out, just had to pay a bit more up front.
Yea, this is how i got my phone about 2 weeks ago. They even had a deal where you could get a GS2 for free on another line. It should be the same at every Costco. So i payed 199 for the GS3 and my dad got the GS2 for free. So worth it. Big upgrade from my Mytouch 4G

Keep in mind that at Costco, they charge you tax on the pre-coupon price, so here in WA, where tax is 9.5% it kinda sucks. But they do have great customer service and free accessories.

This is true, but it's not being calculated from the MSRP either, it's calculated off their reduced wholesale price, which for me in CA, for 16GB SGS3 was $389.99, and that came out to $34 in tax (8.75% tax where I live.) Compare this to T-mobile who wanted to charge me tax off the full $629.99 MSRP, which would have been $55 in tax, and it's still $21 cheaper, even if you can talk t-mobile down to the $199 price.
Cheers

AT&T online. I tried a corporate AT&T Store first, but they wouldn't let me pre-order under the AT&T Next plan unless I turned in my old phone at the time of the pre-order!
Where ever I can find the best price. In the past walmart, as they tend offer the best price (about 40 to 50 bucks cheaper). Just be sure to call AT&T and make sure you plan hasn't changed, I usually have to have my unlimited data plan put back on. With my Note 3 data was removed completely as was texting. I called AT&T as soon as I got to my car in the parking lot.
Just ordered my Note 4 today from Amazon as the stated offer it for $199.99 vs $299.99 from AT&T and 268.99 from Walmart (though I could not find a Walmart in my area that was offering it the Note 4 at all).
