Sprint -> Alltel Possibilities ??

I currently have a Sprint Vogue HTC Touch MPC6900SP phone. I am thinking of switching carriers to Alltel. I know that both Sprint and Alltel use CDMA. I was wondering if it is at all possible to use cokeman's unlocker 2.31 and flash a custom ROM, and then run the specific carrier cab file for Alltel and end up with a phone that works on the Alltel system (of course I would need to provide the phone codes to Alltel when I sign up with their service). Is this a totally lame thought and improbable to do?
maybe
i would think the only thing that u have to do is flash it with nsfan custom rom for alltel if he has one or find one on here and call alltel up and tell them you wanna use your phone on their network and give them the esn and they will let you know if they will allow that esn or not
Im with alltel, and i have done that with a sprint vogue, and i am currently using a sprint touch pro with alltel. You have to do research on how to do it, and it'll constantly say you are roaming unless you get an alltel pri. It's fairly complicated on the first try, but it becomes a little easer. Long answer short, yes it is possible, and many people have done it

[Q] HTC EVO 4G METROFLASH or flash metro

Metro PCS offers a service called "MetroFLASH" my local metro store said they can take my HTC EVO and metroflash it to the metro pcs network.
They than said some things might not work properly. When i search here i cant tell what is the difference between "MetroFLASH" and flashing a evo.
(i am a newb)
What i am trying to find is info on what happens when metro flashes a sprint htc evo 4g with "MetroFLASH" and is there any thing that i have to do. thanks all.
Basically, a "metroflash" is not a rom flash at all. It is metropcs adding your evo esn to the network (and configuring other items) so it can work on metro.
Flashing an evo os changing its rom (e.g. operating system).
1. You take the sprint evo to metro and let them "metroflash" it. (adding to metropcs)
2. This gives you text and talk. You will not have mms or internet yet until you root the evo and configure it using bloodykiller69's method (there are others but this worked best for me).
Metropcs will NOT flash roms (unless on the d/l).
Hope this helps.

You can but you do not need to. I have the same phone as you and I can run either software with MetroPCS. Visual Voicemail from T-Mobile works beautifully with Metro service. Best advice? Leave your phone as it is. I do not even need to change the APN info for my phone to pick up Metro's signal rather than T-Mobile as the two run off the same tower. Your messaging and everything else will work perfectly.,
You most likely will get a new sim card, but my wife did not when she switched over.
I would say good luck, but you will not need it. You can most likely do all of this over the phone with Metro so no need to bother going into the stores where they charge you extra for "activation and processing." Most of that will be free over the phone and you may even be able to do it on the MetroPCS web page. I switched phones (not carriers) and did it on the web page. The local Metro store wanted $15 for activation, $10 for the sim card and a $4.00 service phone of some sort. One of the Metro operators can get your number ported over in minutes and get you activated for free plus first month's service.
