ROM has my old Ringer!!

I am trying to dig through an old summiter ROM to extract ringers but can't find the ringers. I am looking at the ROM using WinRAR, but there is some NK file that is the largest of all; are ringers in there?
That is noob I know but I haven't broken up a ROM since the old Summiter days, and am lost.
What tools are there to break up a ROM to see the indivudual files in them?

I saved you the trouble as I keep those on my SC. Here's summiter's wavs and themes.
(I'm such a pack rat, keep every ROM Summiter, Faria, Molski and the rest of the rat pack ever released (and many that never made it to being released)

htc hero original image files

hi there,
any chance to get all the image files used in the hero? - icons, background images, buttons, etc.? i am about to do a htc hero theme for my blackberry. any hints appreciated thanks

I believe the file at the link given above has the "system image" files. You guys are just trying to make a theme so I am guessing you want the "picture" images only right? It would be easier to just extract a rom from the dream android development area and extract the apk files and wallpapers from it.

The icons, artwork, and such are located within the apk files which are basically renamed zip files. Good luck.

Cooking ROM Program.

I cant seem to find how to cook GSM Hero rom. i google thru only found for CDMA Hero.
I wanted to bake a rom only for my own
or is there any rom cooking program which i could add in my own apps, boot img, theme & name it my own version etc... that free or i could purchase? xD
even need me too read up & make it my own is there any link? ( i dont mind reading & learn too ) really cant find for GSM Hero >.<"

is no good to modify others rom am i right?
& i would like to rename to my own
& is there any place i could download a normal 1.5 clean rom? as i deleted my original 1.5 rom

the official HTC ROMs are listed under the "RUU" section. The downloads will be executable files, but you should be able to extract the system/data/boot images with a plain old archiver program like WinRAR. Any of the custom HTC ROMs, like Modaco, are based on these.
As far as using other people's ROMs, there's no reason you can't use them for your own personal use, and as far as distributing them, I'm sure the original cooks would be fine as long as you give credit where credit is due. Of course I'd ask permission first, but I doubt anyone here would have much of a problem with it.

i cant find the new zimage please help

hi, i want to try and use android on my tp2. i need a german keyboard support but i cant find the new zimage an the other thing i need to copy it on my sdcard. i look every day on this sites http://sites.google.com/site/androidport/faq
and http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=RhodiumAndroid
i tried to get the files from http://glemsom.anapnea.net/android/htc-msm-android/ but the server is down and i dont now where i can get new files for my rhodium. i hope some one can make all of the files in to a zip folder and make a new upload.

I HV the stock ROM. What does u mean grab from ruu?
Extract it from the kitchen and it will b de-odexed. Is there a tutorial?

1.Run the right ruu for your Rom
Then write in the search bar %temp%
It'll give you a folder called Temp go into it
2.search that Temp folder for the word rom
3.it will get you a Rom.zip file,grab that file but don't unzip it..
When you install the kitchen there us a folder called place Rom here...so put that Rom you extracted in that folder then use the kitchen

Im hboot 1.36 is this relevant?

Update: found the kitchen and big thx *****, just what ive needed. Dont like those custom roms...

That search bar on windows when you click that windows logo on the down left of the screen...btw to use the kitchen you have to also install cygwin,I've made a tutorial,search on google how to make your own Rom and write my username it'll give you the thread u made

I have extract this rom to the destination folder specified and endeavoru shows up within tools\edify_ . Is this correct.

update: needed to rename folder to "kitchen" is working now...
