Alert Program - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I just switched from a Treo 700wx to a VZW TP2. Nice Phone!
My problem is I am looking for a good "Alert Program." Something similar to TreoAlerts that keeps alerting every few minutes so I don't miss any new emails/messages/missedcalls.
What is out there?
Thanks,
Vetack

PhoneAlarm pocketmax.net is a must

Not that I am cheap or anything, but any freeware out there?
All I really want is repeating alarms on new SMS, Email, missed calls, & voice messages...

I concur with phone alarm. It goes on all my phones as well as Memmaid and Weatherpanel. Sometimes you have to pay to play... or not.

Hi:
I too am looking for repeat reminders.
I do not like Phone Alarm, since I have had serious stability issues with it in the past. I am currently using SPB Pocket Plus for alarm reminders, and SPB Phone Suites for Missed calls etc. This is a real pain to have 2 programs installed for just those features.
Does anyone have any suggestions (besides Phone Alarm)? I have also tried Missed Call Reminder (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=441593&goto=newpost), but it did not work well for me.
Thanks!

Try Reremind...works great for me

THANK YOU SO MUCH! You have no idea how long I have been searching for this program. I just installed it, and seems to be working as advertised.
Thanks again!

I've been using a freeware program called "MSentinel" which seems to be working fine, but I'll try ReReminder and see how that one looks.
I used to use Phone Alarm too but wanted something much simpler and lighter. I'm not sure if these alternatives are really "lighter" but in general they are much simpler.

ReRemind works like a charm. I've had no problems with it at all. Simple and lightweight.

Nice little program, exactly what I was looking for, thanks!

Timed Dialing application

I'm looking for an application that will place a call daily at x hour. The reason for this is because my friend asks me to call him everyday in the morning as he doesn't wake up to his alarm i wake up early. Does anyone know an appilcation/solution?
SKScheMa will be able to do this for you. Not free, but not too costly, either. Have your friend pay for it

What about using the native Notifications feature in WM? You can add notifications to schedule a task to be run using dotFred's TaskManager or MemMaid, among others. This solution wouldn't bog down the device by having another app running in the background.

I was going to suggest the same - use notifications in conjunction with vj555 phonetools which allow calls to be made from a shortcut
I would like to know if there is a application that will call someone and disconnects if the phone has run a couple of times or if it's picked up (sort off Stalk application).
The reason: Some idiot has tried to phone me 10 times in the last hour, I was vast a sleep till that as#@#[email protected] called me. I want to do the same thing when he's asleep. That guy will get his, one way or the other.... I've got voicemail and he could sms me, but he chose to stalk me.... He stalked the wrong one.

what programs are u using on ur dash

Essential Software
Well, I am sure this is a common question with any new phone. I have been trying to transfer some of the applications such as Pocket Plus, MS Streets, etc. from my sister's PPC and I have been unable to do so due to incompatibility. What software do you guys recommend that is compatible for the Dash?
I would like an e-mail software that works over Wi-Fi rather than T-Zones. I do not have the data service from T-Mobile but am constantly covered by Wi-Fi from my school.
In addition, I would like something that would keep my finances in check. I had a software called SplashMoney for the Palm that would synchronize with my bank account everytime I AutoSynched so that my account would automatically be updated. Anything like that for the Dash?
Finally, I am wondering if there is a MS Streets program for the Dash? As a new resident of Boston, I am constantly getting lost in this web of streets. Something to guide me from A to B would be essential.
Thanks again guys...
Using the e-mail on the dash will use the WiFi if you have a WiFi connection. Make sure your e-mail is setup to connect using "The Internet" and it will use WiFi and if you don't it will use T-Zones.
However I would wait for someone else to confirm what I'm saying just to be safe.
Good to hear. Do you know exactly how to set that up?
What e-mail domain are you wanting to setup?
What do you mean by domain? I am using my school's e-mail service with the following information.
pop.ufl.edu
smtp.ufl.edu

Use this to help you setup your account.
Hmm in that case, you may browse around on your schools website and look for directions on how to setup pop3 e-mail programs with your schools e-mail service.
There are a lot of online resources for you to look into, maybe start with http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/default.mspx -- take a look at sites like http://www.handango.com to get an idea of the software available. Sounds like you're used to homework, you have some more now
Wow guys, thanks. The e-mail is working perfectly. I wish it had the ability of setting up 2 outgoing servers within the same account so that you could just choose what account you'd like to send from, like Outlook on the computer. But having 2 separate accounts isn't too bad.
Thanks again guys.
Voice Recorder
I see a Voice Notes program on the Dash, which will record both sides of a conversation for 60 seconds during a phone call.
However, when you try the Voice Recorder application located in the Accessories folder, it doesn't allow you to record during a phone call. The record option is simply unresponsive. But, as soon as the call ends (even when you are still in the app), you're allowed to record.
My question -- if someone knowledgable about these things would be so gracious enough to answer -- is this: Could there be a registry entry that allows you to record during conversations?
Just poking around I found a binary for: HKLM/SOFTWARE/HTC/Recorder
I have no idea what it's for. Maybe this can't be done? Thanks in advance.
(p.s. I know there are legal implications about this in certain states, etc. with notifying the other party. But sometimes when you're on the phone in a place you can't take notes and you're receiving directions, important info, phone numbers, etc. it would be so nice to simply say "hold on a sec, i wan't to record this.")
Voice Notes as the name implies is for taking voice notes, not for recording a conversation.
Vocal data going through the modem is not handled by this application.
That would actually be a good idea. Having directions recorded would be a major life saver. I'm sure someone will be able to tweak around it.
Just use this instead: http://1800message.com/SPWM5CallRec.cab
website for free downloads for dash
does anybody know a good website where i can download free programs for the days? thanks in advance
omar
www.dashsmartzone.com.
Thats actually how I found this board.
this will work on ur phone...
www.surrealnetworks.com/mpx
Here is a direct link.
http://surrealnetworks.com/mpx/MDAapps.htm
thanks guys, just btw, that last link is for the mda, not the dash

It says MDA but all of the apps on the page are for Smartphone Edition. Trust me it's a favorite on my dash.
thats weird, cuz when i tried downloading them, none of those programs would work? do i have to do something first?

dash seems to be laggy

Hi
My dash seems to be really laggy lately.
Is it due to the build up of txt msgs?
I'm on 6.1 and the phone seems to be a lot slower than it was when i first got it. Any tips on how to speed things up or do i need to delete all txt msgs??
any tips please?
I forget where in the default tmo Rom is task manager, but you could always kill text messaging after you're done using it.
I updated my dash to ricky's rom maybe the 2nd day after i bought it, its got omap overclocking and i've sped up my dash that way.
Perhaps you need to see what programs that you have are running all the time (with task manager) and see if disabling/uninstalling apps would help.
im running kavana 6.1 and its just recently been really laggy.
I clear my tasks and still lags. I starting to think its my txt msg logs since i txt anywhere from 2000-8000 a month and never delete any of them.
Is that the case?
Yeah, dude!!
Holy, shizah!!!
That many. Not to sound like an ass, but hell yeah, that's the prob. you need to run a script that either copies these to a text file somewhere routinely, or just straight up delete these.
Let me give everyone a word to the wise. For a fact, the more messages that are unread on your phone, the worse off the battery life will be. When you have unread voicemails, text messages, email messages, you are destroying your memory and your phones battery.
If you wanna seee a noticeable difference in both memory and battery life, read and delete all old messages of any variety. This goes for non smartphones and smartphones. This is a general rule of thumb. If anyone feels the need to wax intellectual, please, kill that idea. It's a moot point. I know this to be the case, and you can argue all day. Facts are facts.
Hope this helps, man. If you need me to write you an app that eats your text messages routinely or copies them to storage or whatever, just pm me. We can figure out a solution that suits you best!! Later.

Maybe you could try Jeyo Mobile Extender for Outlook. It syncronizes all your sms to your pc, so you can delete them from your phone and still don't lose them. Also you can send sms from outlook, so it's a little faster.
Hope it helped
Cheers
Use Chome Configurator to remove any home screen shortcuts you don't need.
That's all I've done so far, and it made it REALLY fast. No oc'ing needed.
One often over looked issue is the Notification Que, if you dont clean it out your device will slow down. I once deleted over 500kb of old entries after a month of use. Now I delete it weekly
what do u mean by the notification que. how do i go about in doing that?

The simple way is to use SKtools, it does pretty much everything you need as far as device hidden settings and cleaning management.
Is there any way to delete the text messages on the phone from a pc? I've been trying to delete these messages for the longest. It takes about 15 minutes for each contact's messages. I tried to delete it using menu>tools>empty deleted items but when I rebooted my phone after about 500 messages getting deleted they reappeared right back in the inbox. Im now goin to the deleted items folder and deleting all from there instead. I hope it works, but it is still slow.
outerdepth, can I pm you for that script you wrote to delete messages? I really need it.

Assigning distinct incoming SMS sound to contact

Hi all,
I've searched the forums up and down for this, but couldn't find an answer anywhere.
Isn't there a way to assign a different sound to a particular contact's incoming SMS message event? I looked all over every "Edit Contact" option I could find, but no joy.
Before I got my Verizon TP2 a couple months ago, I was using an old Moto Q on WinMo 5 which had this feature. So I'm surprised I don't see a way to do this here. I'm running everything stock.
I hope I'm not missing something brutally obvious. Am I?
Thanks for reading.
Unfortunately I don't believe this is something WM can do by default. I've checked all of the sounds/notification settings and contact settings and don't see anything for custom alert sounds by contact. I too would love this feature, but unless there's some mod out there that can do it I don't think we'll be able to.
I know this software http://www.watchflag.com/home.do but I never tryed because I don't like programs that runs in background.. If you try it let me know!
Some of the old versions of Watchflag ran continuously but that's not true anymore. It launches when you get a message, checks to see if it should alert and then shuts down. Maybe that's what you meant -- just wanted to clarify!

It's not exactly what you're looking for, but you could enable the power saving mode. This disables toast and push notifications. But you should be aware that it also disables all automatic checking for e-mails as well.
