Background Picture is Too Faint

This may be a stupid question but how can I make my "Today Background" image appear in its normal colours and brightness. It seems whenever I make an image my background, it becomes very faint with a white or transparent filter being applied. I just want my background to be the same as the original picture. Any help is appreciated.
P.S. I'm running WM5, HELMI ROM AKU3.2

Thanks, it worked. It's a bit odd that you have to open the picture in the "Pictures & Videos" program and set it as the today background from within there in order to get transparency options, especially since the "Album" program is the default handler for pictures. Even more odd that the transparency option is not available under "Settings" -> "Today"
Must just be the ROM, I'm assuming other WM2005 PDA's would have the option under Settings somewhere...

Problems with setting wall paper

Hi Guys,
I just got my new HTC touch HD and downloaded a few applications from here, does any kind souls can tell me why my wallpaper cannot be changed even thou i tried alot of times to set my background using different pictures and it still does not work.

Hi im not sure if this is right ROM version - 1.18.723.3 (23358) WWE
and i have installed this following progs black dialer, finger keyboard, black calculator, flash player, HD tweak, crystal mail and music.
plz advise.... thks...

yes but it could not work.. any idea how can go about this without activating the hard reset?

just rename the wallpaper you want in the existing one and replace,reset.

Just go to setting if you are using touchFLO, on the menu that slides below and choose wallpaper (home wallpaper) select no whe it ask to change default wallpaper and choose your picture, don't go to today or change wallpaper from the picture viewer it doesn't work, this problen is not fixed in the original rom.

as far as I remember changing it on today would only be seen if you can see the today screen and with TF3D running , you can't see it
TF3D is effectively an app that hijacks the screen so it's background is the one you should change

if you are using TF3D you need to scroll to the settings tab on TF and choose wallpaper there.

Homescreen wallpaper won't change?

Hi guys, this is my first post, firstly I wanted to thank you all for your great advice that I have been reading over the months.
I have applied a wallpaper to my home screen a while ago but I fancied a change. I came to change it start>settings>today then the use this pic as a background tick box at the bottom. I loaded a pic onto the HD from my PC and tried to change the wallpaper to that one, but it won't, no matter what I do it stays the same. I don't even get the default HTC black one back.
I have a stock HTC rom, can any one help? Am I doing something wrong?

Go to Settings-->Wallpaper (in the settings manila tab).
If the picture is in your My Documents\My Wallpapers folder on your phone the pictures will then show up. If it is stored elsewhere eg Storage Card, select the More (left soft button) and browse to where the picture is saved and click on the photo you wish to use.
You are wanting to show the picture on your TF3D Home tab and not on the Today tab.

Wallpaper Problem

I just got my new Blackstone (moved from Cruise) and tried to freshen up its looks a little bit. But when I try to change the wallpaper in the windows today screen (settings-today) the wallpaper (the size is ok) looks washed out and has like a bluish layer over it. Does anybody else have this problem or knows a solution for it?

i would say transparency setting...
it seems to me your transparency setting is set to high and needs to be adjusted down....you can set the transpancency from 0% to 100%..if it is higher, you wallpaper will look ,off colour and seem to have a layer over picture ( sort of just as you descibed..)that is the transparency layer if i can call it such..
i had similar incident about month back ,with my wallpaper..and whilst browsing device, saw how to adjust setting ..adjusted it down and background picture.. perfect...!
only way to access setting( as far as i know ) is as follows ..................
..you have to go to....start.... programs...select ....pictures & videos file .....
.....select any photo or relevant one you prefer ,view picture ,while viewing picture then select from.. menu below ... choose "set as background...."
a page will open.. with heading..."SET as TODAY BACKGROUND... " note . ."transparency level " halfway down page ....set transparency with relevant up /down arrows. .select o.k., close application..

Desactivate weather on home tab (manila 2.5)

Hi all.
Manila 2.5 is quite good (pretty brilliant ) but a li'll too slow..
I've constated that manila 2.5 is especially sloooow when there's a weather's animation on home tab. When there's no weather animation working on manila, manila is very fast
So here is my question : how to desactivate wheater animation on home tab in Manila 2.5 ??

Just change the default wallpaper to any other and animation will disappear

Nope, tried that and it does not work.
Went to Today screen and ticked the box "Use this picture as background", went to browse, selected an image and applied it. Still the weather animation appeared.
Would be great to get this removed.

You have to change manila's wallpaper, not today's wallpaper.

this is really annoying me, can someone tell me how to disable it? how do you change "Manilla's" wallpaper...I thought today screen wallpaper would do it..what are the instructions on how to change "manillas wallpaper" ?

Go to the home tab, tap the right softkey (labeled "Menu"), choose "Home Wallpaper", then choose "Picture Wallpaper". Choose your photo and you're done.
