Error when loading Opera - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I get an error when loading the stock Opera from the Start Menu on my VZ TP2. I get an opera:illegal-url-o and something about http://--switchtopage Manila. If I select my home page button then it loads it up no problem, its only on startup of the app. I do not get this problem when loading it up from the Browser tab in TF3D. Any ideas?

It happens when you unlock menu and replace one of "system" icons with another...
To fix this you have to empty the content of registry key "HKLM\System\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher\??\Command" where '??' ranges from 0 to 29 and is the number of position of an icon in a start menu.

Worked perfect. Thanks!

Assign key - End "running programs"

The o2 icon to end "Running programs" has gone missing from my screen. Can I download a similar program from else where and then assign a key to make this activity more user-friendly.
It seems to make the speed of the system so much quicker if you "close all running programs" a couple of times a day.
Rob.
there so much programms for that , that you canĀ“t count them....
try the search.

When you say "gone missing" do you mean disappeared of some artemis bug or something else?
If the latter then it should return after a soft reset.
I keep getting a bug where my mouse pointer vanishes and won't return until I soft reset.
The orbit has fundamental flaws in it's OS in my opinion.
Otherwise AE button plus allows you to map end program or a task switcher wherever you want. Really useful.

Task manager problem

Have anyone noticed, that after closing a program it disappears from task manager, but stays running in the background?
I mean, when I start opera it's in the task manager, and when I close it, it dissapears, but the memory consumption stays the same, and after restarting opera it continues where I have left it (like I was browsing some page, and it opens directly with that page) - So it wasn't closed at all!
Another program called Tracky offroad navigation. When I clicked on the X on the upper right corner, it disappeared from the task manager, however right after this I tried to remove tracky (settings->remove programs) and it asked me first: Do you want to quit Tracky?
So It did not close it either.
Have anyone else noticed this?
yups, i am having the same problem too with opera. it's still running although it no longer appears in the task manager
Noone else, just two of us?
That's strange. How will we find a solution then? :\
Same thing here with opera. For opera, I assume it could be because they have integrated it into touchflo3d and they will probably start it in the background to download your favourite sites, so HTC might have modified it to hide it from the task manager (or they modified the task manager)... Until now i have not found a second program showing this behaviour...
I have been playing around with the registries and it seems there are some registry settings that you can change to prevent that
HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager\ExclusiveList\System
If you look into the above folder, you can find a list of apps that will run under exclusive, meaning they will not show up in the normal task manager. You will notice Opera9.exe is in there. If you remove the entry, you can now see Opera9.exe in the task list. But it still doesn't seem to terminate the process when you exit Opera. To do that you need to go to
HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager\TerminateProcess
Add a DWORD key (Opera9.exe) and set the value to 1. Now when you exit Opera, the process will be terminated and memory returned.
This works for me.
Hey,
thx for the info!

Click to collapse
Still a problem...
For me, its G-alarm and Pocket Player... when i close either program, the music (or alarm) continues to play in the background, and neither program shows up in the task manager, and often i can't open the program back up again after that. I usually have to soft reset my phone to stop the alarm. (the reason I closed the alarm that way is that some landscape or rotation problem made it so i couldn't hit the off button and noticed that the alarm kept going) I'm also using the T-mobile stock rom. Neither of those programs show up in the registry however, so i'm lost as to what to do. Note of course if i do close hte programs properly they do turn off, but sometimes I hit the X button and they don't close properly or crash.
Thanks!

TP2 lagging and slow after vodafone WM 6.5 update ??

I've had the update installed a few weeks now and I'm finding there's a definate delay when trying to open a program or changing to another screen, sometimes I may have album open then i check the calendar, and then try to go back to the home page and it freezes for a few seconds while it waits to catch up. When I start a new sms there's a delay while it brings up a new black sms screen, then I start typing the recipient and again there's a lag while the letters catch up with my typing.
I've tried clearing all running apps but i still get the lag a lot of the time.
Does anyone else get this ??
I think the manila version is still 2.1 as I don't have the extra shortcut icons on the today screen above the slider.
A solution (other than flashing a cooked rom) would be appreciated.

[Q] home screen has changed

somehow i accidently changed the home screen and i cant return it back to the default screen, which has the icons of the different categories. i have tried all the different settings ann cant find anywhere to change it back. on the home screen it has calendar and contacts on the bottom and i can add other categories on top but it goes into list style without icons. can anyone help, without me having to do a hard reset? i cant even do a soft reset because going to settings where it used to allow me to choose all settings it now goes straight the icons where i cant find soft reset option.
It sounds like (not sure from your description) you have TouchFLO/Sense showing, but want the default Titanium Home screen.
Try going to Start>Settings>Today>Items and uncheck TouchFLO or Sense.
thank you for response
i have touchpro2 and sense is not checked in items. as far as what titanium screen is , i dont know what that is. the screen i want back is the screen you see on every touchpro2 you see online, background with icons to choose from, easily change items, weather , and the bar on the bottom that you can slidt e left or right for different tasks. now it is just the word calendar on left bottom and contacts on right bottom
I understood you backwards. You want Sense checked. Then click OK.
Sense is the HTC-made interface/home screen. If you check "Windows Default" instead, you will get Titanium home screen (the "standard" home screen for Windows Mobile). Right now, you actually have neither.

[Q] No menu in stock browser

I have had my phone for about a week now and everything is great. The one gripe I have is that I can't seem to get to the browser menu at all when I use the stock browser. Every time it will load the home page and show the address bar for a split second and then disappear. I will touch all over the screen and will be unable to make reappear. Anyone have any suggestions it's really annoying.
Thanks
Flick down and it will show up.
