hi guys,
I've got a MDA Vario II, and i put the black shadow rom on a few days ago, only that i always used the T-mobile ringtone and message tone. i can live with out the ringtone but i would really appreciate the Message tone.
Can any one provide me with it or point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Roberto
Just looked through the extended ROM, and can't spot them, although I could be being completely blind.
I'll see what I can do next time I see a friend with an unflashed version to get the files in question.
I've got the t-mobile customisation cabs though if you want them from my old extrom, albeit the WM5 ones, might require some experimentation...
Here you go....T-mobile 1 can go into both the Rings and Windows folder. The other 3 can go into the Windows folder.
Plus not all the T-mobile cabs are in the ExRom, some are actually stored locally in the Windows folder.
Hope this helps.
Ah, brilliant, thanks guys for the quick response.
Has anyone received an MMS with the newly released (August 12) T-mobile Touch Pro 2 and if so was the photo reduced in size?
If it was not reduced, please provide the registry setting for User Agent and X-Wap-Profile found here: HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\config\mm1\WspHeader.
I have a Touch HD and since T-Mobile doesn't sell this phone, they reduce the photo size to default minimum.
User-Agent Rhodium-1.0/arcsoft-mmsua-5.0.0.xx
x-wap-profile http://www.htcmms.com.tw/gen/Rhodium-1.0.xml
I am not sure if the size was reduced, but here are the registry keys for T-Mobile.

Thank you very much. I just found out that a friend bought the Touch Pro 2 yesterday. I'll send him an MMS and see if the photo stays full screen. If so, this will be a solution for small MMS photo size on HTC large display phones using US T-Mobille.
New settings work!
Success! I sent my friend a full screen photo and he received it as sent. I then edited the registry on my phone with the T-Mobile Touch Pro 2 data and had him send me a full screen picture back. For the first time since I bought this phone, the MMS photo was received as sent.
cab
can you tell us what settings to use or create a cab file thx
I had to do something like this for the Tilt when i had it on Tmobile. I just used my MDA settings.
thats not helpful at all
heres a cab that'll change them for you.
MMS on Touch pro 2 (euro) with ATT network
does this also work on AT&T network? i recently performed my first flash and i cannot send or receive MMS messages any longer.

Will this work on the old att TILT as well, I bought the new one TILT 2 and sold my old one to a T-mobile customer , but his MMS wont work at all, he can text , but he cant send/receive pics.
If you want to edit the registry manually, try this:
HKLM - Software - Arcsoft MMS UA - Config - mm1 - WspHeader
Then, edit the key "User-Agent" to:
NokiaN95/11.0.026; Series60/3.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1
Now, edit the key "Profile" to:
http://nds1.nds.nokia.com/uaprof/NN95-1r100.xml

yes this will work with the first Tilt, but he must also enter in the Tmobile MMS server settings.
FYI... I found this fix on the Blackstone forum for those of us using Sense 2.5.
It worked for me.

the reason it does that on your HD is because tmobiles network dont recognize that phone so it compresses the image alot to what a *crappy* phone can handle. because i doubt that a *crappy* phone can open a 3MP pic
the MMS Fix in my sig will set the T-Mobile MMS server as well as the send/recieve size to 1024KB and the user agent/wap profile settings. It is a must have if you flash custom ROMs and you are on the T-Mobile US network.

Will this set the agent/wap in both spots? For 2.1 and 2.5, one is arcsoft the other is htc.
Thanks.
I have a T-Mobile TP2 and just installed the official HTC ROM. I've installed a couple of cabs but they are not working. It sucks to receive tiny pictures!!! Does anyone know the cab that works well with the latest official HTC ROM?
Last of all, this is the ROM that I downloaded. Is this the latest ROM?
HTC Touch Pro2_RUU_Rhodium_S2_HTC_Europe_2.07.401.1_Radio_Rhodium_4.49.25.91_Signed_Ship
I have T-Mobile service here in the states BTW. Thanks!
Nobody is running the official HTC Official ROM with T-Mobile service and is having the same issue?
search for small MMS and you will find the answer

Ok I went to the 2.1 settings and the WspHeader folder is empty, any suggestions ?
Also I want to thank you for helping out DaddyDc instead of being a jerk like some people can be.
if you are using a Tilt 2 on the AT&T network then your settings should work as they are. Is there some reason you are looking to change these settings?

yes all my MMS pics are like 35 by 35pix very small
Same problem here with my stock Tilt2. All pics from anyone except another AT&T come in around 4k, and are so small I have to get out my reading glasses!
Do these workarounds... work... for AT&T? Looks like the setting are all for T-Mo.
I've noticed that the ROM's with HTC Messenger are the ones that are not fully compatible with CAB's/registry mods. I can receive pix and they're of a good size but not full screen. Again, this issue seems to be with ROM's that include HTC Messaging.
If you are using any of the new ROMS (With sense 2.5) check these settings, mine come in fine, tested them by having my daughter send me pix.
Go to All msgs, then menu/settings/options scroll down and check to see if photo resolution is set to original. then hit menu again, go to MMS server. scroll down and check message size limit you should have multiple options (I chose 1024 even though ATT wont allow that), click done and done again, and re-test by sending yourself I full image.
Hi guys!
Can anyone help me out with my prob? I use the latest official DUTCH rom and can send mms just fine. But when i receive and download the file is only 1kb and plays as a slideshow for 5 secs.
I've been searching around for quite a while but can't seem to find a solution. I've tried the trick posted before but that didn't help me out ...
I'm having the same issue when someone who doesn't have ATT sends me a picture message.
I was checking what I have under \Windows in my device and discovered a "hidden" Voicemail visual app in Tilt2. Just run voicemail.exe (if you use a file explorer, just click on it) and you will get a nice voicemail UI. Under Menu you can reply, call back or fwd. I know that there is a voicemail app for Tmobile version of TP2, but I am sure ATT did not advertise such a feature for TILT2. How can one use this app, is it functional?
interesting would like to know too !
I havnt used the stock rom in quite some time... I wonder if someone can strip it out and make a cab
I'm using the EU Rom and there is nothing like that in my rom, might be an att app, I have the att rom, I'll dump it and see what I can find tomorrow.

I actually still run the stock AT&T rom and can make a cab if you tell me how to do it, never done it before . This voicemail app does not work with my voicemail no matter what i tried to do. I guess there need to be some registry changes to make it work with the phone.
i have this too in the Vodafone ROM....
I look at the ATT rom, I only found 1 voicemail.exe file, got to give me more info, like version, size, something cause I dont see it in the 6.5 2.1 rom I have, unless that one file is it.

I have this info in my signature, yes, i do run stock AT&T WM 6.5 with TF3d (2.1). I turned off UI though. And yes, there is just one file voicemail.exe and one file voicemail.bmp (these files are attached). If you open this app, its interface and menu are dimmed. I feel there are some registry settings that can be changed to make this app usable/workable. This is a reason why I opened this thread to bring this to the attention of experienced users at xda forum.
here is the link to an app that does the job if your TP2 is from t-mobile:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=613855
i am on AT&T so basically want to have the same. i guess the question is if AT&T supports this (implicitly or explicitly)...

That basically makes sense. There was a time when PPC phones released through ATT had a blackberry connect option on all their stock roms. Presumably this was to make the transition easier for those migrating from bb. Wonder if anyone with a bb on att could add this service then throw their sim into the ppc and see if it works. I doubt we wil ever get it for free but i wonder..,
right-top of lock screen, it show the carrier name, like Sprint.
which file store this string, I had try to modify spn-conf.xml, but no effect
I attach one image, hope someone can help me
Well with me it never shows anything there for some reason (on 3 network) but it never botherd me though.
But I do kno that the text is generated through the system font as I messd mine up while editing before and it all went skeyways. Maybe whatever symbols are making up your character name arnt included in that build? (Chinese characters maybe)
That would be my first guess anyway.
I add chinese fonts under /system/fonts, other chinese character display normal except this.
Originally the carrier name comes straight from the cell tower, it is not encoded on any system files.
On my G1, the libhtc_ril.so file contains a huge table of strings for mapping from the cell tower name to the name that gets displayed. libhtc_ril.so is a proprietary library that comes from HTC. On the XDandroid builds they're using a lib-generic-ril or something, which is all open source and does not contain this table of names, so you're getting the name directly as it was broadcast on your cellphone network.
thanks
I use china telecom CDMA, does this store at prl file. cellphone network broadcast may be "china telecom(translate to chinese)"
settings->mobile network->network carrier(select an carrier)->show 3 items:
china mobile
china unicom
china unicom
in fact, this should be:
china mobile
china unicom
china telecom
Thanks everyone, finally, I solved.
Can not show CJK characters, so I modify libhtcgeneric-ril.so, translate CJK characters to english.
