[REQ] Alphabetize Program Launcher in TP2 - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Hello all. I have performed a search for this, but was unable to come up with anything. If this has been discussed before, I apologize.
I was curious if there was a way to force the programs in the program launcher to be alphabetized. I know I can go through and do it manually, but it's really annoying after I have already alphabetized the programs, and then add a new one, and then have to re-alphabetize them all over again.
So, any way of doing this?

Need some help... Please

I don't know if this has been asked and answered before, but I need some help please.. Okay you know how on the T-Mobile Dash when you select a program or whatever and when you go back to the homescreen the program is displayed?? Well I was wondering does anyone know how to clear them from there when you are done using it?? Any help would be greatly appreciated..
Also I installed a program and didn't like it so I deleted it but the short cut or whatever was still on my homescreen so I had to reset my phone to get it cleared..
Thanks as always
Doesn't the default homescreen display your most recently used programs? If so, just use other programs until the one in question is pushed off of the list.

I know that, I was wondering if there was something else I could use..
If you never want to see those icons go and edit the home xml. Your home screens are in Application Data/Home (or something like that, I'm not sure). Find the xml file you are currently using as Home screen and edit it on a PC. Remove the snippet of the MRU list.
Sorry I don't know a way to actually clear the list on the go.
(BTW, a quick note: please refrain yourself from using red. It's pretty hard to read.)

remove missed calls and calender? ive searched

OK, I know i will get flamed, but i have searched here, ppcgeeks, and howard forums, but apparently am not using the correct phrase or tag words. Can I, and if so, how can i remove the calender and missed calls from the home screen? i have ready through a ton of threads, i just cant find an answer. Flame away, but please also answer! BTW, i'm not a noob to these devices, i have had a 6700 and 6800, custom roms, etc, and have "tweaked" my TP2 rather significantly. i am pretty close to where i want it, just want to get rid of these last 2 things, then it is a hard reset, and reinstall everything i like. please help!
I know you can get rid of the "calendar" and "missed calls" icons quite easily. But you want to completely remove the links? So for the end result, you want just the clock on your home tab? ie, you don't want to see your next appointments and missed calls at all?
To answer your question, you will have to be more specific with your description. For instance, what items do you have selected for your today screen? Are you using Manila/TouchFLO 3D, HTC Home, or a 3rd party Today plugin? One possible fix could be disabling the calendar from the Today Items menu, or if you are using Manila/TouchFLO 3D, you can customize the tabs and remove the calendar from the list. Maybe you can take a screenshot of your screen so it is easier for us to see what you are talking about.
yep, just want them off the home screen, btw ohyeahar, i am using your skin and love it, thank you very much for all of the work.
i am using touchflo3d, i've taken all of the check marks off of the items list in the today settings screen, aside from the touchflo 3d check
Ok, I see what you are saying... On the "Home" tab of TouchFLO 3D, you would just like to see the clock and nothing else.
I did a search and found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424590
In the thread they referenced Diamond TF3D Config, by Sushilange
I searched for that and found this thread with a download link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405749
I downloaded the cab, installed it but it would not work on my phone
Apparently, this is for a previous version of Manila
I did some more searching and it seems that a lot of people want the same thing as you but I was unable to find a way to do it.
I am going to poke around in my registry and see if I can find a way to modify the home tab manually.
I found another thread that talks about removing the Calendar and Missed Calls:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=456474
There are some cabs on page 3 that you can try or you can read further in the thread where it talks about modifying the xml files to manually make the changes.
thank you, i will weed through and see what i can come up with.
well, the no dotted lines cab worked fine. i used the 590ad244_manila.zip file and replaced the file in windows and the calender is gone, not the missed calls. i attached the files here, thank you to [email protected] for these, i will continue to read through and see what i get.
ok, well, after some searching and fooling around, I tried editing the manila file again, but still have the missed calls text up. also, the above file only removes the calender text, and not the actual button, so if you press in the spot where the calender text was, it goes to the calender. not a huge issue, just thought i would mention it. but still not able to get rid of the 0 missed calls. my search continues, getting closer though.

how to customise home screen, help needed

hi guys,
I was wondering if someone could help. I have done a lot of searching but unable to find an answer. I am using the GXFX's rom which I am very pleased with. I also tried to install sushi's touchflo 3d config.cab file on top of this but get errors referring to 'exception errors', so I removed it. What I would like to do is
a. customise the home screen to add new icons. At the moment I have the large clock, call history and calendar. Is tehre any way of adding more icons or changing this screen without losing existing functionality and stability ?
b. How can i put an icon that open a web page to a certain url address, is this possible. I am thinking of terms of say windows XP. Maybe I am asking too much.
many thanks for your help.
can anyone help please ?

WM65 rearranging items in Start Menu (all Programs list)?

Apologies if this is addressed already somewhere. I searched for "rearrange" and did not see something which looked like what I'm asking.
I would like a tool (or failing that, just the registry or file magic) to rearrange Start menu (all Programs list) items in WM65. I'm running a Dutty Holy Grail ROM on my Topaz, withOUT HTC Sense.
The only rearranging option I see is "Move to Top" and "Move Down" when right-clicking on items in the Start menu, and that's sort of like a Rubik's cube - possible to get right, but waaaay too much work :-}
Thanks for your suggestions,
Jay
Since build like month or month a half back you should be able to "right click" and move it just where you want.
This is what you're looking for!
Not a sorter, a way to manually set icons/programs in whatever order *I* want
the "Start Menu Sorter" app is not at all what I'm looking for. It only does a sort (alphabetic?) of its own design.
What I'm looking for - sorry if I wasn't clear before - is something to allow me to rearrange the icons in the Start / Programs folder in any way that I want to. Ideally this would be a drag-and-drop interface, but frankly a Registry key or System file which identifies the order in which all of the registered programs appears would be okay, as it isn't the sort of thing I expect to edit often.
Any other ideas please?
Thanks.
Try this one http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=68864. This gives you full access, havent tried it myself, but going to today (if I can find the time). Looks like it may still be in Beta, but better than what we currently have!
This might also help.
reSTART seems to do the trick!
The reSTART applet does seem to do the trick, thanks.
The JSPA applet I had already tried - it actually does not seem to have any way to move menu items around, though when I read the web pages about it I also got the impression that it was supposed to do so.

What else to be done?

well, now that my issue (for now) seems to be over with the previous rooting nightmare ( see other post called major problem), i once again have the phone re-rooted and dark fyre themed and so far, so good..
so i was in the store the other day, was messing with the phone, and this guy walks up and asks if it was a phone or a tablet hehe....to make a long story short, i just told him it was a rooted phone, blahh blahh blahh....then he went on to ask if i had removed "the background factory installed proggies" to which i had no clue as to what he meant. he said something about since phone is rooted, im supposed to be able to remove all kinds of nuisance stuff and unwanted programs and all that, move icons around, change icons, etc....BUT... i don't seem to be able to do that..
so i began thinking---so what can i do with this phone other than make it look pretty? how do i remove whatever background stuff he was referring to? what else can i do with this thing?
whenever i do try to remove a program in applications/manage applications, the ones i want to uninstall are greyed out and some of them i cant even force close...shouldn't i be able to remove whatever i want whenever?
and on the home screen ,the static icons on the bottom--phone, messages, email, applications---could those be moved/changed?
i did try to find a thread with what all you can do with a rooted phone besides wireless tether, etc...to no avail...
would appreciate if someone can enlighten me and point me in the right direction
I think the guy was referring to removing the bloatware that comes on the factory (Sprint TV, Sprint Music, etc... bunch of apps). There is a couple ways to get rid of that stuff if you wish to.
1) If you see a custom ROM you want to install, many of those are debloated, so you can just find a ROM you like (Look at Blazer ROM if you like the dark fire theme, he has a version compatible with his ROM[post 4 of his ROM thread]) and flash it.
2) There is a debloating tool available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1438144
If you decide to do any of the above, please research it completely so that you know what you're doing and do it properly.
Regarding the icons in the dock (at the bottom), yes you can change the icons in there, and re arrange them. Follow the steps below.
1) Go into your app drawer
2) Press the menu capacitive button
3) Press edit (You may have to switch to customizeable grid to do this)
4) Once in edit mode, pick the application you want in the dock, and drag it directly over top the one you wish to remove.
5) Press and hold the icons and drag them left and right to re arrange as you wish.
6) Once you're done, press the back capacitive button and it'll save/exit edit mode.
Other features of rooting include ability to use root only apps, such as Titanium backup, wifi teather, etc. I'm sure a quick google search on "benefits of rooting an android phone" will provide you some good examples on other things I haven't mentioned.

Since I'm a noob to this mostly, I can confirm that in order to customize a lot more stuff, you can use a custom launcher (ADW, Launcher Pro, GO Launcher) and a custom lockscreen app (WidgetLocker, maybe others I'm not aware of). As for the pre-installed "proggies," from what I've read it sounds like your best best is to use Titanium Backup and uninstall apps that way. Back them up first, that way if the phone becomes all screwy with it gone, you can just install it back on.
yes you ccan change the icons. open your app drawer push the menu button. click edit. it will tell you you have to switch view. switch. drag and drop the app you want over the app you don't want on the bar at the bottom. you cannot move or replace application drawer. don't forget to switch view back. I use titanium backup to remove all the bloat crap sprint puts on.
