Nandroid restore issue - Hero, G2 Touch Android Development

I just loaded Drizzys rom to take a look, but prior to doing so I did a nandroid backup.
I then restored my backup and all my settings have been lost?! Any ideas why this would happen?

Luckily I also made a backup yesterday - that restore worked thankfully.
Why would my backup made today not restore my data?

Did you wipe before backuping?

If I did it certainly wasn't intentional. I have just compared the data.img file and the one I was hoping to restore was half the size. I must have wiped first, silly me.
Thankfully I had yesterdays backup (albeit without my completed levels of farm frenzy). Oh well we live and learn.
Mod please close my stupidity thread!

PPCPimBackup Lost My Contacts

I'm not really sure what happened but I have PPCPimBackup installed on my SD. Long story short I made a fresh backup of everything since I was going to be flashing a new ROM. I always do a test restore to make sure everything is ok. This time everything isn't ok.. I have 5 contacts now after my restore. I have no clue what to do. Any ideas?

nandroid restore question

So I have to return my phone cause one of my led flashes isnt working right so I'm going to run the ruu and return to stock for the return. my question is when I get my new one, after I root again can I restore my nandorid backup on the new phone without issues or is it not gonna work cause of different esn numbers etc?
Bleh, no one knows hehe?

Absolutely not. You will permanently overwrite your wimax keys, and risk messing many other things up. You cannot restore backups from different phones.
Titanium Backup, however, will work just fine for your apps. Just dont restore any system data, just apps only.

he could restore a nandroid backup as long as he doesn't backup wimax withvit. Then the wimax won't be touched, as long as he's using amon ra he can choose not to back up wimax and cache and recovery, just the other options boot, system, sdext, android secure and it shouldn't do any harm whatsoever. Only if wimax is backed up will it Bork the keys. I made just a back up of my wimax saved it to my pc and never back up wimax when I nandroid. Saves some space and keeps my wimax safe from being lost in case of a catastrophic SD failure, like the night I was bored in the hospital after a car accident, was all doped up on an iv of dilaudid and wiped my sdcard while I was flashing roms DOH! I felt like a retard when I went to flash from SD and it was blank lol. Luckily I had my tablet with my SD backup with me or I woulda been really bored with a dead phone.

Nandroid Question?

Quick Question, I have full root with credit due to the many people that helped me get there ; )
If i backup with Nandroid and use Titanium backup to back up my files and setting.
Can i then flash a differnt rom like (Fresh) to check it out?
Then
If i want to restore my previous rom can i just run nandroid to restore my backup?
Nandroid restores everything. Its complete in every way.
Backups like my backup and titanium can get most of your apps and some settings on any rom you install but most of your setup settings trend to not restore. Some apps can have issues from time to time. Any issues are easy to fix just install and reinstall from market.
Also you can have multiple nandroids and switch back and forth. So if you like two roms get them set as you like and nandroid. Do the same with any others and you can go back and forth. You can also rename them on your sd card.
yup , thats primarily why i use nandroid, and why its so friggin great. i think clockworkrecovery has the option to automatically create nandroid backups on a timely basis. i havent tried it out, but if you wanna make sure you backup your data frequently to prevent any loss of info, sounds like a good option to check out too.
what rom are you on? I was on fresh, and its a great rom but it got slow on me after a few days. i would suggest damagecontrol, cause its known to give a increase in battery life and was completely stable and fast on mine
Damage's rom is great. I'm also running v7 of froyo I forget who is doing it though.

LG Mytouch q titanium backup

hey all,
Im sure this is a random spot for this but, since we dont have a home yet.
Im looking for a stock back up image (Titanium backup pro)with all apps and system settings. I think I may have cleared out a system file or two when cleaning out all the Tmo bloat.
Any help or other suggestions would be great.
You didnt make a backup before you started deleting things?
Titanium back up said that a back up had been created but none was there after reboot of phone. now all kinds of issues.. just need an image to try and get it back
I am talking about a nandroid backup. You shouldnt mess with anything until you make a backup in recovery.
ok so do you have a Nandroid backup image to offer as a way to get back up and running?
Really need some help on this, I'm sure some one out there has made a back up on titanium back up pro or a nandroid back up please contact me.

[Q] resetted after a nandroid backup

Hello,
My dad wanted soft keys on nikez ics. I copied the zip to the SD card and flashed it to his phone. I'm 100% sure it was for the right version of the rom. It was stuck in a bootloop. I thought no problem I still have a nandroid backup. So I restored the nandroid backup and restarted the phone. But when it was on I noticed that a few things had changed. For example all the homescreens he had set up are gone. Second and more important is that his apps still are in the appdrawer but they all force close when I open them. What went wrong and why doesn't the nandroid restore everything as it was before I made the nandroid backup. Can somebody please help me out!?
Thanks in advance,
Rsdf430.
Maybe the sd-ext broke somehow. Try repartitioning your sd-card.
