Well it's been almost 6 months and no one has answered.....and I'm not flashing squat until I have a backup of the original. If I want to sell the phone on it must look like the store-bought item it was when I acquired it.

Because I've looked hard and long, and still haven't found an answer.

Try this
there's various splash screens linked here including the original Vodafone one, along with info on how to install them
I suggest downloading it and keeping it as your 'backup'
if you are looking for splash screens, I just uploaded my first efforts today, have a look! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=663712

I know that site and it is not a solution for me, the splash image my phone came with is not there.
Anyway, I don't care much anymore cause I overwrote my original splash1 anyway, but I'm still somewhat curious whether there's any way to do it.

you could just make one, can you find the components on the net?
my vodafone one was just a logo on a bright red background so not exactly testing ;-)

Beside good job
Thank you
Guys,
Hope I'm not hijacking this, seems the original OP query has been answered. I'm in the same boat, DHD speaker has died for no apparent reason. I've flashed various ROMs in the hope sound starts working again (and it did, for about 5 minutes, then disappeared again)...
So, I'm going to have to send it back to 3 for repair. Based on my initial experience with 3 CS, I don't want to give them ANY excuse to not repair the phone. So, I've flashed various versions of "Stock roms", latest being the one you mentioned in this threed.
They all work, but the radio version seems to not get downgraded, I still have 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.15_M3, I *THINK* this is a much more recent radio (reccommneded for CoreDroid 3.0 I think), and also, the kernel, doesn't seem to be the stock version.
Can anyone poiny me to the stock versions of the radio and the kernel, and where I could download them, please?.
Thanks.

Nandroid Files?

Hi guys,
I was wondering if there was a way to get Nandroid files for a restore. My stupid phone decided to s-off while installing Runnymede and now it's stuck in recovery. I've tried the sticky and it just sucks. I have to create a goldcard and then there's this other thing I need to do...ugh!
Can anyone give me a Nandroid restore file? It's for a UK Bravo, (Desire), HG3 phone. It doesn't need to be HG3 since it's unbranded and it was just the ROM which shipped with the phone when Three Network gave it to me as a "yay! You chose us over T-Mobile, what phone do you want?" present.
Thanks.
Didn't you make a nandroid back up before flashing another rom?
Every phone is different. So I am pretty sure our backups won't work for you.

[Q] Warranty question

Hi
I have a question before sending my HTC back for the wifi repair to HTC.
If I make a nandroid backup of my existing custom rom, then unroot the phone, when I reroot the phone once i get it back, can I simply use the nandroid backup I had made to restore everything once I have re-rooted?
Thanks

Yep, ofcourse you can.
To be honest you need to re-lock your bootloader also.
And hopefully your lucky enough to be one of the people that gets a warranty fix even though your unlocked and rooted.
As many people get turned away.

I made a nandroid backup of my stock rom and also have the boot.img for the stock rom. I assume that if I flash these 2 first and then lock the bootloader? Is that correct?
if it is correct - is it simple to lock the bootloader?

Hi, yeah thats correct mate.
Easiest way is to flash the correct RUU for you phone. Im sorry but I don't know how to get the correct RUU perhaps someone else could help.
What I do know is that you can never fully "lock" the bootloader again, it will say "Re-Locked" and not "Locked" all you can do is hope they do not check the bootloader.
Hope this helps

Definately, if they boot the phone and see CWM, TWRP, Titanium, SuperSU/SuperUSer they'll know straight away you are rooted.
Remove anything you possibly can that will identify a rooted unit.

Warranty VOID?
I needed to send my phone in, but I don't have the sticker on the back, or the box, and there's no way for me to get to the settings on the phone, because the screen stopped working.
Will HTC still be able to service my phone, or is the warranty considered void?

HTC repair is bull**** just for the record. I have 4G Slides on the rest of my lines, ALL of which had to be sent in.
2 of those phones took nearly 45 [FORTY FIVE] days to get back to me. Apparently there was a hold for parts coming in from Taiwan. They wouldn't tell me which parts. They wouldn't even give me an estimate time. HTC didn't apologize or update me on my repair. I found all this out after numerous calls day after day.
But if you thought that was bad service, you'll love this...
The third phone was sent out and came back fairly quickly. Within a week. I was so happy to get my phone back.
Opened the box and GUESS WHAT?
HTC SENT ME THE WRONG PHONE
They sent me a completely different phone for a different carrier (HTC Evo 4G for Sprint). It was very beat up as well.
I swear, if it wasn't for their designs (which I love dearly) I would've dropped the company by now...
Sorry for the rant/threadjack. Thought you guys would like to hear a horror story. I'm done
does anyone know how to remove the super su app and the clockwork recovery? everything else is now back to stock as i did a nandroid back up immediately after rooting initially

[Q] HTC M8. Phone boots only in fastboot and I can't do anything (factory reset etc)

Hi guys. I have a problem with my M8 (international).
Start topic was here http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...-boots-fastboot-factory-t2952954#post57042833 but I took an advice and open the same topic in general theme.
Hi everyone. I got a problem with my HTC M8.
First of all, I didn't make with it any changes (as unlock bootloader, root or installing any custom OS or recovery etc.) Week ago I left device, connected to PC for all night, and, I gess, with "bad" micro-USB cable.
Next day I couldn't boot this phone. I connected it to charger and after little time it was loaded to fastboot. But up today I can't do anything with phone: I can't unlock it, can't factory reset, can't boot to recovery etc...
I tried to find any same simptomes in google, but found nothing
As you can see on screenshots, I made steps for unlock bootloader but on device I didn't see notification about unlocking.

I'm taking a bit of a guess but some how system has got wipe but that seems a bit off for a locked phone but since it's locked I would take it back to where you got it from and get them to sort it.

I would normally say the same. But the OP mentioned in another thread posted in the wrong forum section (linked in his post) that he bought from Canada but lives in Ukraine, so I think warranty is not valid. It would have been helpful for the OP to give all the relevant details in this new post.
I agree, it looks like his OS and possibly recovery have somehow become wiped, corrupted, or damaged. Not common for a stock device, but not unheard of, either.

Hi
I had a similar problem to you where I was stuck in fastboot mode and the only command it would execute was POWER DOWN and when switched back on it returned to fastboot mode. However I ended up in that state due to making a mistake in trying to unlock and root my phone. Also I believe my display showed the RADIO and OpenDSP details rather than the INVALID_VER_INFO that your's is showing.
I thought I had deleted the rom and recovery on my device and I had bricked my phone however I was able to recover my phone by getting a new unlocktoken from HTC and flashing it.
Once I had successfully unlocked my phone I had access to my rom and recovery.
I see from your first image that you tried to unlock your phone and it shows that 'unlock token check successful' but images 2 and 3 show that the phone is still 'LOCKED' so it may be worth going to the HTC site, get a new unlock token and try again.
If it doesn't work, it shouldn't do anymore harm either!
Best of luck.

Yes, I did this And in consol I saw that everything was fine, but on device I didn't see standart notification about unlocking.
A found some topics about "INVALID_VER_INFO" - and they said that it can be ok for some devices (guys checked this on their worked devices, booted to fastboot and saw the same).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715056 here is the topic about "INVALID...".
btw - I tried unlock phone after another man. He did the same - receive .bin from dev. HTC site etc. I did the same, but from another HTC dev. account and result was the same Phone didn't unlock.
It could be that the recovery has got messed up because I believe recovery is used to do it since unlocking will wipe data. The only things I can think of is a real ruu as in it full rom and firmware exe (good luck with that) or you could try just firmware ruu, riff box or HTC themselves.

I need an information, how I can be sure, that I use correct file for RUU my HTC? Is it bootloader version, or operator version (Sprint, Verison etc.) or something else? As I wrote, I can open information about my phone in Fastboot (I can check my SN, CID, bootloader version etc.)

For a ruu to work it needs to have matching cid, guess mid and has to be same version or higher than what's on the phone. You can't flash the wrong one it won't let you.
Edit, also the one you linked to won't work.

M9 bricked (doesn`t POWER On) after flashing a wrong ZIP-file via TWRP...Please HELP

Good morning
I`ve got a really big problem and don`t know if I`m able to solve it or if I have to send my phone to HTC..
I rooted the m9 and got S-Off through the sunshine app. Then I wanted to flash a custom splash-screen via cmd but it didn`t work.. I tried something else and that turned out to be really stupid:
I flashed the zip-file from here android-hilfe.de/thema/how-to-splash-screen-aendern.433411 which normaly was created for the m7 only with my m9 through TWRP and did a reboot..now my phone went OFF and I couldn`t start it again...till today. That means that I`m unable to start anything. Off course there is no connection between phone and computer, too. The phone is still OFF and I have tried many different things to restart it but without success
As I said before, the phone was rooted and S-Off. Everything else is still on stock. I think it `s the unbranded version from Taiwan. The CID was HTC__621 but I`ve changed it to 11111111.
If there is no way to fix this, where should I send the phone? Directly to HTC or back to the online-store where I bought it a few weeks ago?
Hope to hear from you soon..
Thx in advance and best regards!
bikk.b
I'd have to look at the partition maps to know exactly what you did, but those recovery flashable zips for the M7 used the dd command to write the splash partition directly. Problem is that it's in a different location on the M9. It sounds like you overwrote something critical doing this.
So yes, your phone is likely dead. Only HTC or a repair shop can fix this.

I agree with this, never flash ZIPS not meant for the M9 at all.....now you should take your phone to the vendor, but then they will take phone to HTC anyways and delay more time to replace/fix..........
My recommendation is to take phone underwater for 30 so it can get impregnated with water in all the inside and if available for your vender or HTC directly, use the Uh-Oh warranty available for the device....i live in mexico and i know of many people have used this methos to replace the phone whenever they have f****** the phone by flashing..... heres the link for more info:

I'm sure OP has disposed of his phone by now, but I finally looked at the maps to see what happened here, and hoo boy was this a goof. The M7 recovery script writes the splash to p13. Guess what p13 is on the M9?
aboot
:crying:
So yeah, you're going to hardbrick your phone trying this. Going to add a big nasty warning to my M7 splash thread.

Any chance you could change your updater script to do by partition name instead of a static block number? It's not common, but HTC has in fact added partitions over the course of OTA updates that can renumber the existing ones.

With over 100 splash files in that thread, it would be a lot of work. People should know not to flash things written for other phones, not that it seems to stop them from trying. There are and have been warnings in the OP about doing it.
It's not an issue for the M9 since splashes have to be changed in fastboot unless you use scotty's mod to remove the write-protect on the splash partition (something I don't recommend for anyone other than advanced users).
