I've had this problem in both v13 and v15 (skipped v14):
when receiving picture messages the picture comes in very tiny, I've installed the mms cab provided by nfsfan and followed his instructions. mms comes in with no problem its just the pictures are tiny, cant really see anything...

I've never gotten pic message to work with any rom. I'm on sprint, it keeps telling me to go to a website to view pics. That sucks.

Same thing here.
ON mine they are like really little thumbnails. If I click on them they blow up really big.
when i get a picture message (im using threaded text messages) it pops up in the normal chat window as a little picture icon to click, when i click on it it pops up and the picture that was sent is very small...i never had any trouble getting pictures on the stock rom and i love nfs's 6.5 roms but i also like getting picture messages :\
I've been with Sprint for 6 years, no matter what phone, I have always had to get on the internet to view it.
lucky you, i cant even get the pictures to come in small... how everyone has it working with no problem blows me away, i follow every step... the GPS i got working NO PROBLEM.. but something easy as this simply won't work..

I have Verizon and I have followed these steps every time, without incident. I would suggest flashing a couple more times. I had some problems at first with V15, it took me 4 flashes to get everything working correctly. Also try the .cab in the post linked below as a known working alternative to NFSFAN's VZW Arcsoft.

Are you doing each soft reset in the directions?
MMS
1. Go to connection settings and select "Manage existing connections"
2. edit the only connection there
3. Name it whatever you want ie "vzw"
4. hit next and enter #777 as the number
5. hit next and put "[email protected]"
and "vzw" as the password
6. hit finish
7. install the attached arcsoft cab
8. do a soft reset.
9. open phmregedit in the start menu
10. navigate to HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcsoftMMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader\X-VzW-MDN
and put your 10 digit phone number for the value
11. wait a min or two and do a soft reset
12. go into messaging select menu and then mms options
13. select the server tab
14. select verizon wireless and change connect via to "the internet",
the other settings should be correct.
15. wait a few min and perform a soft reset once more
16. now mms should work!!!
I just did the MMS setup for the first time on V15 and sent myself a pix msg with no problems I even saved it and it was the same sized 2mpx image that I sent.
i was all sorts of mad this morning LOL.. i think my pics messages was working, it just wasnt **** but a accidental send and i got all beyond myself gettin mad haha
anyways now i ****ed myself another way, walkin out when i put the stock rom back and customizations ran, now i cant call/receive calls..

When you flash to or away from the stock ROM you have to call Verizon and get your phone reactivated. Some times you can just call *228 and that will work, other times you have to talk with tech support= *611. Just tell them you downloaded the new update ROM and play stupid about anything else.
yeah i had to do this in the past, just didnt wanna have to call them ahha i forgot sometimes the *228 works too so ima try that just got out work
Twice now in the last 2 weeks I've gotten a txt from Verizon telling me to call *228 and use option 2(updating roaming capabilities). You should do that too I suppose.
okay, unfortunately none of that worked for me so i guess its back to stock :'( agh well... thanks for the help anyway!

I just got my TP2 from tmobile yesterday, switched from the TP1, lovin it so far, awesome screen.
One problem tho, ever since later last night, I've constantly got a "1" on the bottom of my TF3D, indicating a new text message. Theres no new message, ive done everything..
-Restarted phone
-Deleted ALL messages(Drafts, Sent, etc..)
-Put different SIM in
The LAST thing i want to do is master reset it, because I have all my programs installed and OTA syncing set up just the way I want it.
When I'm in messages inbox, and I click the drop down box in the top left corner, theres a blue "(1)" next to Inbox, again indicating theres a new message, even if theres no messages at all in the inbox.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this without master reseting??
I had the same problem. Unfortanutely I do not remember what keywords I used when I searched after the problem, but I found a program which solved it on my device. unzip, put the .exe on your device, execute it, softreset

ok, i just got this phone yesterday, and its AWESOME. Just one minor but VERY annoying problem tho, whenever i send out text messages, it will be displayed in the correct time, but whenever i recieve text messages, it will be 4 hours before the actual time... It seems its been set to a different time zone or something... Anyways, does anyone know how to fix that?..

it depends where is the person which sends you the sms, as a matter of fact if the person is in paris ou you are in London, then the message will be displayed with GMT -1

I had the same issue, I apply the summer time fix followed by the df_timestamp_fix.cab I attached. (Thanks to the author, it's floating in the forums if you search for sms timestamp or something along those lines if your curious to know what the cab does)
I am not sure the summer time is needed but it work for me.
The issue is with a "Trust time zone" Reg key. From what I understand, your provider applies the GMT -4 and your phone do it a second time, hence the time difference.

at the moment i have 8 unread SMS messages i cannot make go away. even when i use a CAB to handle this things go back to the way they were after the next text comes in.

I haven't had that problem at all and I do alot of texting! Sometimes it'll have a 1 by it when I though I read all my messages but I really didn't.
Did you try disabling touchflo from today screen in settings rebooting and then re-enabling it?

This is annoying, I use to have it on stock rom with my TP1, the genius cook made some work around work so I haven`t been bothered since...

I only had that prob once on my TyTn2... or was it my Prophet...? Anyway, try this file. It worked for me before.

Try this
Start/Settings/Text Messaging Change to Classic and X out.
Go into your text messages and you will probably find the culprit in bold. Once you open it, that should reset the counter. Go back and switch to threaded.
First, make sure local time setting is correct (as above posts)
If still persist, try reghack; open phm regedit or resco or else, navigate to HKCU/System/State/sms/Unread, change the Count value to 0. Exit regedit, press power button to suspend your device, wait 5 secs, then softreset. Please try and feedback.
The timestamp_fix.cab did not work for me. The MTS_RecvTimeStamp.cab did the trick.

This didn't work either for me.
I noticed if HTC Messeging is installed, the cabs will work, if its not, they wont work.
But HTC msging is slow.

I was enjoying my new Touch Pro 2 from T-Mobile for over a month now and suddenly I noticed that Touch Flo 3D said I had a "new text message". I usually just check "all messages" so that I can see all text message "discussions" instead of one at a time or "read only" mode when you tap a contact and slide over to "sms". So this time I checked "all messages" and none of my messages were "unread". I even went through every conversation to make sure nothing was missing, not even an mms message.
I even turned off Touch Flo 3D thinking that was causing the issue, no dice. Everytime I go into the SMS app for Windows Mobile and look at the folder tree, I see "inbox (1)". So I downloaded a cab file from xda that allows "mark all as read" in the sms app. After installing/softresetting and choosing "mark all as read" from within the WinMo SMS app, this issue did not go away both in Touch Flo 3D and in the WinMo SMS app.
Finally I came across a link of someone having an issue with their HTC Hermes (Kaiser?). They made a program called "FixUnreadCount". This app shows that it is checking all mailboxes (including sms/mms) on the WinMo message app and determines which messages are actually "read" or not.
Once I got to the "sms" portion of the scan, it found that all messages had been read, but the notification was set to "1". It fixed this and moved on to check my other messages on the phone.
After the scan finished, I noticed that TF3D still thought I had an unread message so I softreset my Touch Pro 2 and that was it. Touch Flo 3D had synchronized with the WinMo messaging app and determined that there were no "unread" messages.
I felt I would post this up here since I know there are a lot of Touch Pro 2 owners out there and none of the other fixes worked for me. I also hope that this can be found easily in a search because finding the fix in the hermes forum was almost dumb luck.
I posted a link to the thread that has the file available for download. It's a zip file. I just downloaded the file via Opera directly onto my storage card, then extracted the file and ran the file after extracting. You may get a warning that says "unknown publisher" just tap allow and it should run just fine.

Just use SafeInboxExtender
Once installed, go to your inbox (windows default, not TF3D), click menu, scroll down and click 'mark all as read'
That should do the trick, and its easy too.

So did you try FixUnreadCount followed by a soft reset, as in the first post?
Can someone please help me! I have downloaded this zip many times and it works for a few days then the phantom message appears again somedays totaling to like 5 new text so it says. Is there anything I can do to keep them away for good? I love my phone but this is driving me crazy!!!

I've had this problem with several WinMo phones from time to time, usually after receiving several automated texts, and always had to hard reset the phone to fix the problem, which in this case, with the Tilt2, would have been a major hassle getting it just the way I like it again.
I changed my settings to the default UI and then ran the exe file, then switched back to TouchFlo 3D, but the count was still wrong, so I performed the soft reboot like you suggested and again, it was still there, so I just ran the zip file again and it was gone with out another reboot.

and easy fix for this Is safe inbox extender it gives you the option to mark all messages as read something the original option fails to do so download it and no more hard resets

thank god it freakin worked! ive had to deal with this for months now!
the first time i ran it, it said it had taken out the message on the scan so i exited the scan and did a soft reset, and it didnt work. so then i ran the scan again and this time did the reset before exiting the scan, and that worked like a charm. so if your havin issues with it try that. thank you again so much for that, im glad someone finally figured this issue out

go to tools, then file explorer and find the file, select it then press the menu button, one of your selections should say "extract" (select it), then youll get a screen askin where you want to save it, just to make it easier on yourself save it to your storage card, once this is done go through your program files again and you should see 2 files with "fixunreadcount" (one is the folder logo which you just extracted from, the other is a little window logo thing which is the actual file), select the file with the window thing and it will then run the scan, after that press the reset button on the side of your phone. if it doesnt work the first time (it didnt for me), run the scan again and reset again and it should work

Yeah thats happend to me on my TouchFlo3D. Its a really weird bug. I think that it happens if u delete a message chain that still has a new message in it. Theres no way to fix it other than a hard reset cuz i went for about a month waiting for it to correct itself but it didnt so i had to hard reset. My best advice is to make sure u dont have any unread messages when u delete them
This happened to me recently i found an .exe app that corrects it for you. I don't have it here at work but i know its somewhere in this forum.
If you still can find it, message me and i'll email you the file when i get home.

It shows I have two new messages always for me too.
I just tired that file you posted because I have the same bug and when I run it, it says it found the the "new" SMS and fixes but it still shows up on the touchflo 3d.
When I run the app again, it shows no errors. However when I reboot the phone and run the app it shows the new SMS and fixes it, but it still showing up. fml.
I'm using the tilt 2 from at&t with wm 6.5.
EDIT: taking out the battery fixed it after using the app! Thanks!

Ok all this is a cry for help from all users and people helping with the MIUI port...
It's also a cry for help TO all users and dev's who have worked on, altered, modded or otherwise, the original Chinese MIUI Rom for what ever phone system you did the work on.
Our Beloved EVO can not RECIEVE MMS messages.
the message starts to download and sometimes instantly says "error downloading file" (or attachment i forget) or it can go as long as 30 seconds and then error out.
The messages do get sent to the Sprint picture message site, or email if you sent it to an email instead of a ph. #
At first Sending did not work but bnice (and maybe others) got it working.
MMS SEND is confirmed working, but receiving does not.
Aside form a complete 100% decompile of the rom i do not think anything has not been covered but i am no android dev, god no, just a lover of the rom and bnice's great work.
bnice kind of took over where IncredibleDoes started and has done a knockout job of getting near everything to work, but this MMS receive thing has got everyone stumped.
apn's have been swapped, examined, cross examined.
apk files have been swapped, examined and cross examined
yet nothing seems to be working.
to myself and a few others it feels like an authentication issue. sort of like when something is trying to gain authentication to a site or process, it may bomb out right away, others it might take a bit. all the while it looks like its doing something but really isnt.
I have observed via searches, other phones, be it MIUI or other rom's, not able to receive MMS messages. even stock phones right from the vendor had issues and it was fixed with an OTA fix.
PLEASE--- if you had a phone or rom that could not receive MMS messages we need your help in finding out what is causing this issue on the MIUI ROM.
each of us love different rom's, dev's, them's and phones, but there is one rom, aside from CM6 (and derivatives of said rom) that has gained quite the following across many phone platforms, and i feel is undeniably unique in every way, even down to the multitouch icon moving & screen flipping, its unique.
Other phone dev's with Verizon (for example) have gotten MMS receive working, but Verizon uses a different method I understand, for MMS send/receive and that method does not work on the EVO/Sprint.
if you think you can help or want to help or have any ideas please ask here or contact bnice directly or via the MIUI thread HERE . grab the rom, flash her, and see what you can make of the issue.
logcat does not work out of the gates, and others have said alogcat does not work either, but i have not tried yet since 1.23 was released.

*** Just to Clarify whats happening.
I reflashed 1.23 again this morning and sent myself a message from gmail and the MMS header does appear on the phone, with the download button available.
when you click download, the button either comes right back like it hickuped and didnt download, or if you hit it again, or again and again, the mms message may just sit there for seconds, to minutes saying "downloading"
but infact no error message popped up.

Ok... I believe this is the rom that came with the hero when it first came out and had the same mms problem where that download button would appear but would fail to download.. Sprint fixed it with ota (second link)

Hope this helps... I think this might be a good thing to look into.. Cause the hero had same problem... Sending mms was perfectly fine... But receive was broken.. Text would come In... But wouldn't download.. Even clicking download button would result in download error...
Sprint fixed the problem.. This sounds exactly the same issue we are having... I am no dev so please just have a quick look... Thanks
