Bluetooth settings/output for the T-Mobile TP2 - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I currently have the T-Mobile stock 6.1 ROM on my phone and am able to connect to my Pioneer headunit's bluetooth (CD-BTB200). Everything works fine, but the only thing that I cannot change/figure out is how to make my headunit ring rather than my phone. It used to work with my Dash along with Jetware, but Jetware will not work on the TP2's Bluetooth stack.
My questions are as follows:
1. Is there anyway to adjust the bluetooth sound output to the headunit (I have the option checked to allow for system sounds on the hands free device, already)? Perhaps there are some hidden registry values? Some routing registry changes if not in the GUI, hidden somewhere?
2. Does WM6.5 have more Bluetooth options that are not included with the T-Mobile ROM? I haven't upgraded to 6.5 yet, but if those options are there, I might take the plunge before all of the bugs in the 6.5 ROM builds are fixed.

I need a ROM cooking mentor ! Need Radio/BT A2DP

Hello,
would be happy to exchange french cooking, but ROM cooking is, if I understand, what I need to do, if I wish to upgrade my SPV M2000 (Orange France).
Could someone help me understand and manage my ROM cooking?
My cooking 'chef' !
Would like to get a clear view, understanding, method, issues of what/how cooking is.
My first goal is to enhance the BT capabilities of my SPV: BT is working just with the SIM phone, I would like to be able to have audio capabilities for any sound capable applications (mp3 player, IP phone, other).
I heard about A2DP profile, is that a software to add? a registry keys to activate? is that included in a BT latest version?
Could someone help me on that?
I use IP phone extensively, wirelessly, with global roaming, will appreciate to share my experience on using this almost WW free calling feature.
Call me !
Jennyfer
Paris - France.
to get a2dp you need to get the broadcom bluetooth stack and do some regitry changes
mind you if you do switch to that bluetooth stack you loose the ability to use a bluetooth headset for phone
IP phone require a much bigger bandwidth then gprs can give so to use programs like skype and such you need to be on wifi otherwise they will only send text
cooking is really a left over from the way that xda1's worked
with later models people just unlock the extented rom and place the cab files they want in there
Thank you, Rudegar, for your prompt answer.
So, you say that "cooking" is from past, and that now the method with extended rom is selecting/using cab files?
Where can I get the broadcom bluetooth stack ?
(have ftp client to xda ftp site)
Which registry changes I have to do ?
Why BT A2DP imply to have phone call with Bt impossible ?
Is there a strategy to have both ?
So many questions, but am really new at that !
Thank you!
Jennyfer
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=25443&highlight=a2dp
i link to the 2 threads about a2dp in this thread where you can download and see the registry settings which need changed
and i have both "a2dp" and headset on my xda2 because i use the i-Phono headset which kinda cheat with the a2do part using a dongle
and yes today people place programs they want autoinstalled in the extented rom and there is no way to place programs in the real rom like people could on xda1
Rudegar, you said: "and i have both "a2dp" and headset on my xda2 because i use the i-Phono headset which kinda cheat with the a2do part using a dongle"
This mean there is a way to keep headset profile along with A2DP profile ?
So your i-Phono headset works with both SIMphone and other audio applications?
What is a2dp part / dongle?
thanks for yor help!
Jennyfer
Rudegar,
the first link pointed to an unavailable file.
I got the Broadcomm BT 1.6.... from second link.
So, I just have to install CabInst (better tool?) on my BA? and install this cab from the BA?
Does I have to tweak registry?
I never did this and would not like to mess it !
Jennyfer
I found this audio gateway registry settings from MSDN/Dev, does it apply to 2003SE ?
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...html/wce50conaudiogatewayregistrysettings.asp
It is like if BT is never totally activated (even on mobile 5.0), so perhaps these keys could wakeup some BT features?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=11729&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=50
the reg changes are described here
about cab files then personaly i just double click on them when i wanted them to install manualy
but otherwise you dont need to do anything with them apart from copying the cab files into the extented rom dir and adding their name in the config.txt in the same dir
cannot find it while file-exploring my BA.
Where is located the "extended rom dir" on the Pocket PC ?
being newbie, if I well understand, I have to use the extended rom unlock tool to access extended rom dir ?
and then edit config.txt in \windows.
I put my cab here.
And then?
- system update it automatically?
- or does I have to soft? hard? reboot?
be explicit, please! afraid to break my system.
yes you have to unlock and unhide your extented rom using the program
no you have to hardreset in order for it to install the cab files
I could have started reading the BA wiki first ! I did.
My best advice to newbies (as I am) is to start by wiki.
So, if I well understand, I can change my langage, and everything, choosing, whichever ROM, Radio & so on on my Orange France originated SPV, and install, by example, English ROM 1.4, latest radio & BT ?
Has anyone got Widcom to work with A2DP and Headset profile?
I can get my Sonorix BT stereo headset connected to both profiles, however the headset one only partially works. Call answer doesnt work - although cancel call does. Wierd. Mp3's stream fine in WMP10 though via A2DP.

HTC WM6 - Car Kit Bluetooth Problem (no sound at all)

After upgrade to the official HTC WM6 ROM (spanish version) my integrated bluetooth hansdfree CAR-KIT doesn't work anymore (with WM5 the system works perfectly).
The car is a new CITROËN C4 Picasso, but i think this problem must involve any new PSA Group Car (CITROËN, PEUGEOT...) that mount the same kit.
I can pair the CITROËN hansfree with the TyTN, and both connects (i can see the operator name, the battery level, and the signal level, that WM5 stack doesn't show) but when i try to call, or i receive a call, there is no sound throw the hansfree system.
I also have tried the Jetware bt extension with no succes.
At now i had to downgrade to WM5 because this problem (i need the handsfree working).
The cuestion is...
Is it possible for a ROM MASTER to extract a previous bluetooth working TyTN stack to overwrite the stack that comes with official WM6?... (the WM5 or any working WM6 working stack).
Thanks
The same problem here with the same car; also the Artemis on WM6 (I tried several roms) has no sound.
Downgraded to WM5, and it's all working again.
Not yet tried to get an update for the car; maybe there is also a solution.
I have the same problem with Motorola HF-850 car kit. I'm about to downgrade too. This sux.
Same issue here with Nissan Sentra 2008.
I can dial and receive calls but the audio works about 30% or the time. It is hit or miss.
Same here in a 2007 UK CITROËN C4 (5 door hatchback) with factory fitted Bluetooth car kit, using an Orange M3100 with the Schap's WM6 Pro 3.60a ROM. Looks like I'm going back to the Orange WM5 ROM as this is a deal breaker for me. Very disappointing.
try this
I had similair problems a few pretty good solutions:
-jetware search google i use this one
-Solution:2
Change the COD (Class of Device) from a PDA device to a smartphone device.
This can be done this way:
1. First make sure you've got a backup, or remember all settings you change in the registry.
2. Edit with a registry editor the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\SYS\COD
By default my vario II does have the value: 1048852 (decimal)
Change this to: 5374476 (decimal).
3. Soft restart your device
4. Voila! Your device now identifies itself as a smartphone
see this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=290871
Thanks!
I tried the Jetware solution: no luck.
I also tried the COD trick: very strange result, I was able to make just 1 (one) call and other calls were again not possible (no sound).
Maybe there is a solution in updating the software of the handsfree set in the car. I will ask my Citroen agent to do this, if possible.
I will post the results.
I haven't tried the COD trick, but I don't think this will work. It's not a case of my car 'ignoring' my M3100... it pairs OK, and the car's display shows an incoming call, allows me to pick it up, etc, but no sound comes out of the speakers and the other party doesn't hear my voice. It's like the car is receiving the data stream to tell it what's happening on the call, but not the sound.
I don't have any of these problems with WM5, I don't even need to use the JetWare solution.
same problem with Peugeot 407
Same problem here with Peugeot 407
What I found is that if I start a call without Bluetooth and start Bluetooth during the caal, the sound works perfectly. Every next call has the same problem as before though.
TyTN; WM6 Schap's 3.60a;Radio 1.47.00.10
Hi.
I am with Motorola's HF-850 car kit and I get the sound only after 8-10 full seconds from answering. It is so sad that I have to say "wait....wait" every time I answer a call....
There is a post on this forum that suggests someones got it working with an Audi and the latest Black beta rom...
http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/hermes-black-rom-support/11291-black-x-beta-2-smash-trash-11.html
Anyone tried this?
This post also suggests that the newest Black roms may have fixed the issue
http://htc-devs.com/forum/index.php?topic=42.msg321;topicseen
Here's hoping!
That will not work on the Artemis
But I tried several WM6 roms, including the Black & Blue 4.1: no luck.
Looks like a real WM6 issue, as it's happening with several phone models.
UPDATE: No software update for the factory Citroen bluetooth handsfree according to the local dealer; so that's no solution
I have tried 5 of the latest roms yesterday including all the fixed mentioned in this forum. The best I got was with Sleuth rom where I get audio about 50% of the time. Answering with that rom results in a 5 seconds delay before audio connects causing me to yell "wait, wait, I am here ... "
I even tried a blootooth stack from Broadcomm but the result was not better.
Out of desperation as I bought this car specially for its built in bluetooth kit, I downgraded to Cingular Mobile 5 Rom version (2.15.502.3)
I am surprised and kind of thrilled to report that my 8525 and the car kit are working perfectly together and reliably.
There must be either a bug or a setting/configuration issue on the Mobile 6 bluetooth stack that caused this issue. I am unfortunately back to mobile 5 for the time being until this issue is resolved.
SPV m3100, CK3100 AND WM6
I have an Orange SPV M3100 in Spain with WM6 and i have the same problem. With WM5 and Jetware estension, i had to pair parrot and pda manually every time i got into my car, because they did not connect automatically (Blueetoth-->Devices-->Parrot CK3100-->FreeHand-->OK), but then it works well and i could receive and make phone calls.
But since I upgrade to WM6 i have to pair it manuaaly too, they connect, but it only works from time to time; most times, if i make a call it dials but i cannot speak and people does not hear me; if there is an incoming call, I see the number in the displsy but i can receive it.
Anybody with WM6 and Parrot Ck3100 works well?
I have the same problem with a Mio C520 SatNav. Its bluetooth handsfree works fine with WM5 but not WM6.
I also posted this on a thread on bluetooth headsets, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=301636&page=6
I tried many different versions. So far with Sleuth's WM6, I had sound around 50% of the time. Similar to one of the previous posters.
Until there is a fix I will have to go back to WM5
I use a parrot car kit and it works fine. However, I noticed some new functionality on my lcd, like displaying battery and signal levels which was not available with the original WM5. That was available only with specific phones. Based on that I believe that a firmware update of your car kit could solve the problem. The issue is whether this is provided for you and if you will have to pay. Parrot offers them for free and you can upgrade via BT.

Does the WIDCOMM bluetooth stack install work with Dell Axim x51v WM6 (Football)?

I want to be able to tether my Axim x51v up to my cell phone using bluetooth so I can access the internet occasionally. I tried to install the WIDCOMM bluetooth stack and then the x51v was no longer visible by Vista's Windows Mobile Device Center. I ended up doing a hard reset and am back to the Microsoft bluetooth stack which is so limited in comparison. Anyone have any suggestions?
I am using WIDCOMM bluetooth stack install work with Dell Axim x51v WM6 (Football), I can connect to my cell phone using bluetooth and access the internet...
rolwu: can you go into settings --> connections --> usb to pc and try to uncheck 'enable advanced network functionality' and tell me what happens please? also, do you still have a 'bluetooth explorer' icon in programs? what happens if you click on that icon? just a couple of the problems that i had right off the bat with the widcomm bluetooth stack and want to see if you have them as well. it is very possible that i installed it wrong or just did something incorrectly. thanks!

Yes it works!!!!
Hi Football, are you planning to remove the old Microsoft Stack ? It would be nice to release also a Widcomm enabled ROM...
Cheers!
Football: first of all, thank you for the work you did to create the great WM6 image for the Axim x51v. You have breathed new life into my old device.
If you would not mind Football, would you please give me a link to the Broadcomm stack that you installed and instructions, or a link to a thread that provides instructions, on how to install it? For some reason the one that I installed, Widcomm (which I assume is the same as Broadcomm), did not work properly.
Oh, and do you have a paypal account Football? I would not mind sending you a small gift as a token of my appreciation for your efforts.
I went ahead and tried to install the BroadcomBluetoothStackX51V05 from aximsite (which I assume is the correct one to use) and performed a soft reset as instructed. I then made the change to the registry to set the flow control value to '0' (not sure if that is still required). However, I have a few problems using this bluetooth stack:
(a) The Axim will no longer synchronize with Windows Mobile Device Center (using Vista Ultimate). If someone can please explain how to get this working I would appreciate it.
(b) If I go into Settings --> Connections --> USB to PC, I can not uncheck the 'Enable advanced network functionality' or I get this error - "Failed to disable RNDIS to use Serial." It was suggested to uncheck this in other posts related to troubleshooting failed connections with WMDC.
(c) Programs --> Bluetooth Explorer, when launched tells me that "Bluetooth radio is turned off. Do you want to turn it on?" Bluetooth is already on but I select 'Yes' and eventually it tells me "Failed to turn on Bluetooth radio."
These are the problems I have noticed so far. Do others who are using this Bluetooth stack have the same problems with the WM6 A03 ROM? Can you synchronize with Windows Mobile Device Center?
I appreciate you help and feedback.
Hi djlenoir...
I installed the Widcomm stack from Aximsite and I also experienced same problems as you...
The '0' in the registry is not required for normal operation I think. The Hardware Flow Control must be disabled only if you connect an A2DP device to improve performance and stabilty. I'm having issue about point (c) as you and I think the BT explorer only works with MS Stack... When I tried It, also created a useless bluetooth device folder(same as CF or SD) in the file explorer wich I had to remove deleting a startup menu shortcut created by the system. Another issue is the BT Obex file transfer speed wich cannot be sustained at so high default speed (I'm having chopping between 2 and 60 KB/s. Reverting to slow speed using BTSpeedSwitcher seems to solve the problem but speed si only 28-30 KB/s. Tryed with MANY BT dongles and different PC stack (Widcomm, M$, Bluesoleil).
Cheers
Football Add The BroadCom Bluetooth Stack To Your New WM6 A05 ROM
Yes, the broadcom bluetooth stack works perfect with the X51v running Football's wm6 RTM A03 ROM. Now Football all you need to do now is add the broadcom bluetooth stack to your new wm6 A05 ROM! It's got the perfect setup for SKYPE!

I feel the opposite and prefer to leave MS BT stack since we can always install the Broadcom stack whenever we like. In fact, I found the A2DP sound quality a lot better from the original stack

With out a doubt, the broadcom bluetooth stack has better stereo sound quality, than the Microsoft bluetooth stack, that's plain to see and hear. Plus I use the broadcom bluetooth stack to make VOIP (SKYPE) phone calls but I cannot do that with the Microsoft bluetooth stack.

Read my thread in the Excalibur forum on how I installed the bluetooth Dun.cab file on my T-Mobile Dash, now I can pair both devices (my X51v and my T-Mobile Dash) via bluetooth Dun, go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340762 and get the bluetooth Dun.cab file download and complete details, works like a charm...............!

It's only without "your" doubt. Not to mention a serious bug in broadcom A2DP (across all PDA I tested) which system volume adjustment is not working. I found my SE HBH-DS220 a lot worse than the original MS stack on x51v. (But the same handset works very good w/ my Asus P525 which also has use broadcom stack. Maybe some tweak is need...)
Since different people got different need, it's better to leave it and have the user to install broadcom stack as needed

I have been using the Broadcom bluetooth stack way back before Dell ever thought of a x51v! We only had the X50v back then in those days! (Old School) Menneisyys and his friend Mike Spikle were the first ones to introduce the Broadcomm bluetooth stack and I still have the same download of their first original fix with the bluetoothspeedswitcher.zip and the flowcontrolhack.reg on both of my x51v's. I have never had a skipping problem, the stereo sound is perfect. Menneeisyys uses the Plantronics 590A bluetooth headset and I also use the same headset for that perfect stereo sound quality. Maybe, you are using a different broadcom bluetooth stack, than what we are using, because I have no problem using the volume control (high or low) again it works like a charm and always has.................!

Calling Chefs!! is it possible to create a bluetooth cab from the cooked ROMS?

Hello all chefs, I'm having a pain with the BT interface to my car kit and headset on the current ROM, on other ROM's its been ok, is there any way to create a CAB with only the bluetooth components and their dependancies in? If so can we populate this thread with ones from your ROM's
BT
How I would appreciate this...
Off-topic a bit maybe, but I have been trying for long without luck to backup pairing (registry) of GPS and car BT devices and then reinstall them (either after flashing same ROM or different one).
BT
The problem seems to be that BT connectivity works with some WM6 ROMs (original HTC and some of Schaps for example) but not with all.
I use Pays ROMs which are quite excellent but BT is not working with my Audi MMI. It worked with HTC Original.
Same problem over here
Same problem over here, Original HTC WM6 Rom and Schaps work ok. Others keep conecting and disconecting win an Audi handsfree Bluetooh radio.
so maybe SCHAPs will let us know what he has done differently, I have found the same occurs for me, I had an older SCHAPs rom installed, I decided to move over to a clean more up to date rom which has poor BT quality and performance for some bizarre reason..
Bluetooth
Which of Schaps WM6 ROM versions are working with Audi MMI?
I think people's best bet (and I promise this isn't the same glib answer people give a lot around here) but your best bet is to run a search.
There are quite a few versions of Bluetooth 'software' around - and I don't mean the external programs but the whole internal software 'mechanism' of bluetooth in windows devices. The 'stack' that largely controls bluetooth has a number of different versions and I'm 90% convinced that I've seen OEMs floating about for it.
Rather than the XDA search (which has had problems lately), try using google and search for the terms you want with site:forum.xda-developers.com after. Thus (DON'T include the inverted commas) you'd maybe put:
"bluetooth stack site:forum.xda-developers.com"
into Google and it will prob find your info. Sorry I'm not being more specific.

Downgrade BT stack?

Hi there,
I have HTC Universal and Dell BH-200 stereo bluetooth headset.
Situation:
- WM5 ROM (for example newest KDSkamal) - after a bit of fiddling A2DP works, also HS profile is working
- WM6 ROM (for example Tomal's 8.5, 8.2) - A2DP works after fiddling, unfortunately HS profile's not working - headset turns itself off after 5-10 second of call, during which nothing can be heard
- WM6 ROM + Broadcomm stack - A2DP works flawlessly, HS doesn't.
From what I know, no WM6 device works correctly with Dell BH-200. It's interesting though, that WM5 devices appear to work. Also, I've read here that Broadcomm stack doesn't support HS profile, so out of luck here.
Now, I was trying to just overwrite WM6 BT stack dll's with ones taken from WM5, but it didn't work either - maybe that's because I was doing it rather randomly, without solid knowledge of the matter.
As I see many skilled hackers here, maybe someone would take his/hers time to help me out a bit and figure what has to be done to have working WM5 BT stack on WM6 device?
So I've done some primitive hacking, here are the results. I've been using files extracted from newest T-Mobile WM5 ROM, on my device there is Tomal's 8.5.
First, I just used every bth* dll file I could find and overwritten ones in Windows folder:
bthutil.dll
bthusb.dll
bthuniv.dll
bthuart.dll
bthsc.dll
bthlink.dll
bthidsvc.dll
bthhid.dll
bthcsr.dll
bthasplugin.dll
bthamb.dll
BthAGPhonebook.dll
btdrt.dll
btd.dll
btagsvc.dll
btagext.dll
After this, Uni wasn't even able to turn on GSM - no idea why.
Then I tried with just
BluetoothSetting.dll
btagsvc.dll
btagext.dll
Much better stereo - it works now, before there were lots of noise; also, headphones no longer switch off when receiving phone call; unfortunately, no handsfree support.
Will try more...
OK, false alarm - just found out that I need to force pairing from the headset (using Play/Pause button) and the A2DP works, even without replacing btag[svc|ext].dll. After this sequence A2DP works, but Handsfree doesn't (but at least it doesn't turn off the headphones)
maybe some reason
i have special infomration ..
I have TOmals ROM and i found this ...
if i will turn first bluetooth on my Uni and then i switch on my headpohones - everything works great. Also in my car parrot works perfect - A2DP and also i HF ...
If i will start bluetooth after bluetooth in car or headphones ... then A2DP makes sound pause ... and HF is not so clearly as usually ...
i dont know why .. but it works like this ...so try to switch BT on pohoen first and thne accesorries and youll see ...
Bye
I tried that, but to no avail.
But now the fun part started: if I extract files from Tomal's ROM nbf, they are in different size that the ones _from the same ROM_, just installed on Uni. Even better, if I overwrite installed ones with extracted ones, radio, SD, camera and so on stops working. I wonder where is connection between SD, camera, USB connection and bluetooth...
Now I replaced only btagext.dll (however, I think that all this replacing effects only in disabling replaced dlls...) and best thing I achieved is that
- A2DP works almost flawlessly with Dell BH200 (if I keep correct order of switching devices on)
- HFP works with second device, Sony Ericsson HBH-PV708 (had to disable HFP profile in BH200)
Audio switches when receiving phone call.
Obviously, that's not the best solution (far from it), but it's at least something...
