downgrade!

everyone is talking about upgrade, i did my rom upgrade to xda vanilla.... now the problem here is i cannot do anything without pocket msn and mobile office in there. can someone plese help to downgrade to the original state. i have a dopod 838 pro with WM5. i tried to do everything, installing rom from dopod website that didn't work.... when everything is set and done.... i mean when the device is ready and the upgrade process starts.... mu device goes in three color mode and i get a message in my pc saying.... cannot upgrade check you cables. please somebody help... i have been ****

Carefully read wiki..how to downgrade..there are now so many and easy ways to do so..Vanilla ROm does contain office..naviaghate to windows directory and check..or drop some wor/excel files and check..u can also download windows live cab from this forum..just do a pain search here..

Artemis noob needs help for WM 6.1 upgrade

Hello,
i just got my artemis and tried to upgarde it...
But any Rom I downloaded causes errors while flashing...
Something like USB connection error [260] and something like file corrupt error [270]...
I found also how to unlock cid but that doesn´t work to...
I use Vista and the new mobile device center 6.1 and my artemis is an german o2 version.
I get the same errors if i use XP and activesync 4.5....
Any suggestions????????????
I don´t know how to go on. And I didn´t find any Thread that helps me...

First , i sugger you to use XP . I never can upgrad with Vista ( i have vista ultimate )
I do this with xp :
1.First be sure activ sync is active when you put your p3300 on your usb
2.Download this version of uspl (it always work for me with this version ) :

3.Choose your rom . I suggest you this :

4.Unzip the first file you download in 2. You will find a file called RUU_USPL_signed.nbh. Delete it and remplace by the .nbh you dowload in 3.
5.Run start_uspl.exe

You CAN Flash in Vista

ofcourse u can flash with vista... even with VISTA ultimate...
jst make sure u have windows mobile device centre running... and that the pocket pc can connect to the vista pc...
i have been using VISTA ULTIMATE for the past 8 months and no problem... its cool..

I have the a P3300 as well, and tried to follow the same instructions, but I still get the same error 270 image corrupt, it goes to 3% and sometimes to 6% and stops giving that message.
Did you manage to get it work by any chance ????

I can't be sure but it may be something to do with XP SP3. I had the exact same problem but when I tried it on another laptop (same hardware) with XP SP2 it worked fine

Errors Numbers : 266 & 264 & 302 while Upgrading PPC

I decided to tell something about my experience today about these Error numbers while Upgrading my Hermes (T-Mobile MDA VARIO II) .
Dear friends….i read Upgrading instuguidances again and again but there is a gold issue I did not notice untill today.
whenever I put my PPC into Boot Loader Mode and connect it to PC to upgrading these Errors appear immediately and I was in trouble what those errors are.
It checked the cable or some different Official ROMs but in fact I noticed all growth from Windows.

I am in winder why Microsoft does not make it possible upgrading PPC over Windows XPSP3 !!!
Whenever I run RUUWarpper on Windows XP Service Pack 3 these errors shown while I was sure about correct cable and correct ROM and ….
Sooo I want to share it to all peoples this gold notice :
Upgrading PPC is just possible on Windows XP Service Pack 2.
not Windows XPSP3 nor Windows Vista.
I think it is good for someone else that search and find these Topic in database of this nice/great Forum if same problem has appeared to him.

Mate, there has been a heap of threads on how to upgrade with Vista. It Works.
I have, on occasion, upgraded my Hermes on Win XP SP3 successfully. If it doesn't work for you, try the sd card method, you have to install Hard SPL V7 first, I tend to use this method more as it seems safer to me... Especially for the radio rom.
All you need to do is search and you should find the answers you seek...

about 1 hours after reading your post I tried again upgrading on XP SP3 and put it on Boot Loader but nothing. (above Errors had shown again and again)

Mate, as you have Hard SPL installed (SPL 2.10) try this instead...
1. Format a 2Gb or less sd card FAT32. Copy the .nbh file of the rom you want onto it and rename to "hermimg.nbh".
2. Put sd card into Hermes and reset to bootloader - power, OK and reset with stylus.
3. When prompted hit the power button to flash new rom.
Just make sure you have 50% or more battery though.
I find this method the easiest way of flashing roms as there is no real involvement of the PC except to format sd card and copy the .nbh file across. You'll get no sync errors, have no worries about resets/blackouts ar the usb cable being pulled. About the only ways to stuff this up is to reset in the middle of a flash or to have a flat battery.

Yes you can upgrade it in XP SP3. Do you have .net installed in the pc? If you dont, then you will be getting errors too.

I will try it as soon as i came back home and format 1GB Memory SD Card.

Yes.
.NET Framework 2.0 SP2 and 3.0 SP2 is installed on my XP SP3 shows on Add/Remove Programs on Control Panel.
I am sure.
and by your accepting we can upgrade PPC on XP SP3 , I resolute and will search and search again to find any solution why i get those errors on XP SP3 while you both told me upgrading is possible.

Had the same thoughts with the problem, I get Error [264], I also thought the CID-unlock issue. Tried many ways to get thru but fail in the end. Well yea, your piece of notes enlighten me. I will try on XP SP 2 and below, gotta find the machine some where first

after those days passed what about your siuation?
has your problem solved using Windows XP Service Pack 2 ?
did you find any System running XP SP2 and try upgrading your PPC ?

If you have trouble with the pc, try the SD card method. Easier and I believe safer too as no-one accidently resets the pc in the middle of a flash. This method is a MUST when upgrading Radio ROMs...
For the PC though, you might need to update your .net framework to 3.5.

You recommened this safely nice upgrading method and wrote a how to on this post and I love it and thank for suggest it.
I did not have enough time to upgrade and change my Hermes ROM recently from December 2008 so I did not try this method still cause PPC will go to Factory Default settings and programms installed will be ununstalled and I hate installing again and again.

I suggest others try this method too instead of using PC running XPSP 2 specially this days mostly use Vista running Windows Mobile Device Center instead of XP running ActivSync.

I canoot start, i cannot repair ROM

Hi, all, i have problem with my SPV 700 (HTC 3600) - Trinity.. When I turn on it, I see only start screen eith HTC logo, (you'll see it in attachments) there is only M 05 B05, R 1.50.08.11, g 32.83.7020.20h, D 3.00, i can do nothing... I cant reflash ROM because my computer cannot find it, and instalation write updater is old, you must find newer updater.. When i install acivesync, it cannot find too, but my installers (5 downloaded) will start, but write Cannot find hardware. (or mobile phone). Is any program, to connect my htc, or reflash ROM?
I found Schaps_WM6Pro_Trinity_4.30.2008_WWE_Full(p3600I) or some next, but every write cannot connect. Thank you very much.

Load from mini SD!?
You can try loading your ROM from mini SD card !
You need to format sd card to FAT32 with Card Reader first!

Have you tried to hard reset, leave the device on tricolor screen and retry loading ROM?
Use the proper SPL to load!
If you are a Windows Vista user - the driver from this site it will be the sollution - search for it!

I cant go to tricolor display, i cant reset, i cant do anything, i thing it freeze.. sorry my english, im from slovakia. Or.. how I can go to tricolor mode? I try all combination clicks.

Man please read from instruction from the passage named HARD RESET, the button you are talking about its for software reset only!
Use the seq. Power+Camera+reset!Keep each button pushed and then use stillus for reset and you will get the Tricolor screen - but first format your SD like i describe in the post #2 and then copy your ROM on it!

I am using Vista and the connection with the pc invokes the windows mobile device center. I tried to reinstall through a xp vmware with activesync but i get an error 270.
Any thoughts?

Hard reset your phone first, then use the bootloader method(Camera+Power+Reset then in the bootloader connect the usb cable)!

Anyway, also try to change the Rom image that you have used when you bricked your device!Try a new ROM by the date of release!

Thnx for the advice! I got it working. Before reading your reply I had started installing the original rom provided by htc (WM5). It installed correctly and at least i have my phone back. I will check your links about hard SPL (thanx ) but i had installed the gelly_01 rom before , not through vista though.
I will try to reinstall it.
It's getting late here so i will check it tommorow and infirm you.

problem solved Its working now, but I dont know how i repair it
for unlock CID HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3a.zip (Its not compatibile, but my opinion is it unlock but dont repair rom) then i give there [P3600i] HardSPL v1.1.rar and end is Trinity_WM_6.1_NEW.OS_19965_Diamond_edition_by_Akeo_V3.1.rar all files are in attachments.
I give there HTC_Trinity_SIM_CID_Unlock_v1.zip too, before Akeo Diamond edition.

Cant flash, ERROR 246

First of all, hi, i was reading a lot from this forum, and i must say, im impressed. Nice job!
Anyhoo, im running WM 6.1 (Lite) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364031) on my HTC TyTn.
Now id like to flash it into, i dunno, the full version, or 6.5, or something else, but it wont.
I connect it through active sync(on my desktop pc), and i run 'Force Using Safe SSPL', i get the error : ERROR 246. The Update Utility cannot get response from your PDA Phone. Please check that your USB cradle/cable is connected properly between the PC and your PDA Phone. And also check your PDA Phone.
Click 'Exit' to quit.
I tried to run SPL-2.02/2.10/2.30 and then it goes into bootloader, and at 1% it says 'file corrupted'.
I tried those things on my laptop, too, but still the same problems.
Can anyone help me?

Install NetFrameworks from v1 to v3.5 make first your device is runing a functional rom.... or your rom... then perform the Hardspl v7 by olipro hardspl 2.10 and then try to upgrade some other... the fact here is.... how could you have 6.1 and now you are trying to make hardspl... oh bTW dont use SSPL please you gonna damage your device if it is not ready damaged.

Try this,
1. Make sure you have HSPL 2.10 or New Bootloader
2. Put Your device into bootloader mode (Until there a "SERIAL" in the bottom of ur device), connect it to PC (Now "SERIAL" change to "USB")
3. Run 838Pro_SEA_ENG_WM6_Upgrade_20070712 (official ROM or U can RUN other official ROM can be found on www.htc.com ), don't click "AUTODETECT",
4. Checklist the option button of SPL-2.02/2.10/2.30 New Bootloader and Is it Hard-SPL?, after that just click next2 until flashing started
5. If it didnt work repeat step 1-3 and checklist the option button " Force Using Safe SSPL " then follow all flashing step
6. Run AT&T Strip, link: http://www.4shared.com/file/61372397/e2bf76c0/official_ATT_WM6_striped.html
7. Flash WM6.5 ROM you want
Hope its usefull cause I use this when my hermes couldnt load and every flashing it's stuck on 1%
