Hi
Ive a Touch Pro 2 here that was on the Orange Network. Unlockde it no problem and got the mms settings on no problem.
Im having problems configuring settings for data tho. Can anyone give any pointers or guidance??
I'm on o2 as well with a TP2, try this page:
http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html
Should have all the info you need.
Doesn't the auto config tool have the info for O2?
Gordon
I used auto-config without any problems.
Thanks for the responses.
No there was no O2 on auto config just Orange. So set them up then and changed them to O2.
Easy peasy!

I got an i-mate PDA2k the other day and need some help. I live in the States and use Cingular as a carrier. I need the GPRS, SMS, MMS Connection Settings and the instructions for creating the settings.
Does anyone have them? I **THINK** I have the right settings but don't know how to make the connections, as I have NEVER had to do this before (this is my first unlocked device purchase...)
I would appreciate any help anyone can provide.
i always get this error message:
The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings.
i have already set my gprs/mms settings. i tried using my sim on another fone and i was able to send/receive mms. anyone encountered this error?
btw, any smart users here using xda 2s? any one of you having problems sending/receiving mms and accessing gprs? i used the automatic configuration whenever the phone performs a hard reset (xda 2s phone bought from smart has an automatic configuration both for smart and globe). i also tried using the cab file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=20826.
tnx!
Try a manual setting -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=21900 has a Virgin setting tutorial. That might help!
Dilip, I noticed that you live in India and would like to know if you have GPRS working. If so, what carrier are you using? I'm using Hutch and was told that they didn't support GPRS on Pocket PC phones, which is hard to believe..
Cingular
I am looking for help with GPRS/MMS on an XDA IIs activated on Cingular.
contact your service provider they will give you your gprs and mms settings. im thinking we should have a sticky for this.
HUTCH GPRS SETTINGS
Hi aragorn121
HUTCH GPRS WORKS PERECTLY FINE ON Xda iiS
MOST OF THE HUTCH CUSTOMER CARE CENTERS ARE UNAWARE OF THIS...
I AM ATTACHING A FILE WITH THE HUTCH GPRS SETTINGS SENT ORIGINALLY BY HUTCH GPRS ENGINEERS.
BUT A WORD OF CAUTION: GPRS IS GVING PROBLEM WITH 1.31 ROM ... SO I RECOMEND YOU UPGRADE TO 1.40 ROM AND U WONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS ATALL IF U FACE ANY RIGHT NOW WITH THESE SETTINGS.
AND REMEMBER TYPE ADDRESSES IN ADDRESS BAR AS WSP://WAP.YAHOO.COM, ETC... IF U USING THE HUTCH rS.99 WAP CONNECTION!
COnTD... hutch gprs settings!
IN GPRS SETTINGS IN CONNECTION MENU.... MAKE SURE YOU HAVE IT SET AT PAP AUTHENTICATION AND CLASS 8 FOR HUTCH ATLEAST!
happy surfing! do reply me back about your experience!
Hi again
I use a payg vodafone sim on my beloved Blue angel, and suddenly realised I have no MMS ability
(I do have it activated on the sim and have used it on another phone)
I have searched the forums with no joy
am I missing something silly?
TIA
Hi

Lordao

I have an unlocked HD2 with an o2 sim. When I try to change GPRS connection settings I cannot select any network other than the original T-Mobile. The auto option is disabled. I'm not fussed about the T-Mobile splash screen but I do need to be able to connect to the o2 network (GRPS). Phone / text is fine. Any suggestions? I would like to avoid flashing the rom if poss. Roger
I have a HD2 locked to T-Mobile, all of the internet settings are obviously pre-configured for that network.
I'm not sure how to change them but I'm pretty certain you can get O2 to send you the GPRS the settings directly to the handset as long as they have the device or they may not support it.
T-Mobile
Unfortunately that isn't possible (HTC & o2 advised). Also there is no option on the connectivity wizard to update the list of telephone providers (that surprised HTC!). Presumably there is a regkey missing / overidden. Any ideas out there?
Rog
i got the same problem. theres no alternative to write a new rom to your hd2.
after that i could easily download the o2 settings...
theres a thread somewhere here to show you how its done
good luck.
