Questions after upgrading to WM6 - Help...

Ok, I have upgraded my Hermes to WM6 using the ROM on the wiki site.
I have installed all my apps and everything was looking great. I then noticed the Extended ROM and half a dozen cab files. So I have installed all of these as assumed they were some sort of patches.
I carried on installing my apps but now after a reboot the SIM PIN Lock entry screen looks a really basic (non 3d) button version and the keypad that should be shown when pressing the green call button isn't displayed I just get a white screen.
I have installed the following apps:-
eWallet 5
Tomtom 6
PocketBreeze 5.2
Phone Alarm + VistaMedia skin
Any ideas on what has happened?
Do I need to re-flash my phone?

Which version have you upgraded to?? If it is v0.20.x (thats 0.20.0 or 0.20.1) this is a known issue, seriously recommend reading the thread concerned with the ROM you are flashing before going ahead (the link for the thread is in the table aswell).

Hi,
My ROM Version is 3.22.110.1
I installed it from the 1st option in this list:-

I installed from Mirror 5
I am little confused, is there a way to overcome this issue. Im bit of a newbie so do appreciate your help..

So you installed the 'Vanilla' version?? (look at the names on the left side)

Yes it was the Vanilla version. I have done the wrong one?
Can you point me in the direction of the fix if there is one?

The best thing to do is to is to perform a 'Hard Reset' which will reset your device back to the same point as when the rom was flashed, so you will need to reinstall everything. Suggest you install the same things again but dont install the skin....this might be incompatible with WM6 (since nearly all skins are designed for use in WM5).
BTW, i would take some time to read through the wiki and familiarise yourself with the various reset types and other literature on ROM upgrades, the knowledge in these pages will hold you in good stead for the future sir

Just one other question. Should I have ran all the CAB's from the Extended ROM?

Not really....the best thing you can do is to leave the ext_rom alone and just manually configure your MMS and WAP settings by hand. The ext_rom (again) contains cab installers that are designed for WM5.....while most should work in WM6 there are some that dont. ext_rom is something i havent used for ages in XDA-Live (v0.1 and now 0.2) and I dont miss it.
Just install the apps you were running (phonealarm and others). The ext_rom doesnt do much except run carrier based stuff (like themes and automatic settings).

the first link i posted to the t-mobile site works.

got the WM6 working. I like the Windows Live homescreen....

BTW, its the same as the early leaked version

After reading several threads in this forum I have seen that people are running this WM6 ROM in other versions of the Excalibur other than the T-Mobile Dash. Is that safe for me then to run it in the UK on a T-Mobile MDA Mail? I'm buying a new phone today and I will probably get that one.

I tried to delete from \Windows\, it's tell me can't delete from ROM.

Cant delete them, but you overwrite them. I just replaced the tmo with cingular branding. You can make blank files also if you want no branding.

I've seem to have lost the JOGGER aside from volume control... Anyway to get it back or where to make the adjustments/activations?

Has anyone installed the official T-Mobile WM6 release on a HTC s620 from Europe unlocked and running on Cingular's network?

Hermes Touchflo: anybody willing to give a proper roundup?

i was reading through the posts in this forum and over at 4winmobile.com regarding the porting of Touchflo and all the apps unique to Wizard.
What I still don't get is this:
Is there a "working" CAB already out now? So that I would just need to install that CAB to have Touchflo?
If there is, which would be the best ROM to go with it.
Are there any complete Roms, that have Touchflo already enabled?
How stable is the whole thing anyway?
Maybe somebody who is really into this can give us all an update/ walkthrough on this topic, since information on it is widely scattered over several posts at the moment.

roundup... touchFLO is currently only buttonFLO on the hermes.

and at SchapsROM it is only Buttonflo with Blackscreen...

so, there is no proper ROM avaible, that has at least touchButton installed by default?

"ButtonFLO" is known to work well with blackmajik and most latest roms.
So that I would just need to install that CAB to have Touchflo?

There is no need to install a cab to assign the button. Just set any button to run the app.

Yes, there is some rom flying around. black majik + "ButtonFLO" but you have to assign the button. The steps to make it function are in there. Just follow.

TouchFLO was not meant/made for hermes but for HTC Touch therefore it doesnt run perfectly but some people at 4winmobile.com are still working on making it better.

There's a Black Majik ROM that was re-cooked with the added files in Windows over at 4winmobile. I think Slueth? cooked it but not 100% sure. I'm actually using it right now, but I didn't add the ButtonFlo CAB cause the first time I used it, it worked for a little, but as you add apps it acts weird, so, I'm using just the ROM and it's absolutely awesome! Super stable, etc!

i support you......he could have deleted the links to the rom removed all the uploaded files but deleting all the threads is not ethical.....i had a bug which was listed in the page..and when i tried to search it...it was all gone...thanks to google caching i was able to get the old page...but i am not in favor in deleting the entire thread.....if this can be taken care of.....please do so.....mods if possible please put a notice of somekind so people can see the problems earlier instead of having a conscious attack later and others people stands helpless......

i finally found what i needed...but now i have a question..
how can i open the cube. I got it once, but then it disappappeared. Is there a instruction for this rom?
Second question. The bottom and the top of the dispay are green, how can i change them? For example to black??
and last but not least...My Tomtom program has gone. I couldn't find it on the device. When i plug it to the pc an try to connect with the tomtom software, it shows me, that the maps etc are still on the storage card. But i cannot launch the navigation. Also when i use the gprs buton on the left side a strange page comes and somewhere stands, that there is no fix..or something? Whats a fix?
What should i do now, that i still can use this rom Artemis_Touch_4.02_Full_with_4_sided_cube but also my navigation??

1. find it here,there is some text and a pic
2.settings>today>themes
3.you have to find tom tom installation (cab or exe)...i think there is a file in the wiki(slick my signature) because when you flashed the rom,all that was included in the original one was replaced or deleted
install it and it'll work
also,now that you have to download it anyway, i'd suggest you trying iGO6 iGO8,it's great and much smarter and less annoying than tomtom

Thnx for sharing there m8, exidently deleted my my meschle rom folder on my pc.
Now have most of them back, gonna go back to a 3.x vanilla or test the others again to compare them to the wm6.1 roms

Missing important file..
There was a .cab file posted by meschel in his original post which enabled 'messege sent' notification when sending a txt.
The rom's have not got this feature as standard and need this .cab file to fix it.
Its looking really hard to find as people only have the roms and not the extra .cab file he posted too..
Anyone have it?

You can also disable that notification with Schaps Advanced Configuration (3.3 is the newest I guess)

Can someone port Rhodium volume control as a cab?

Hello I have alot of programs installed on my device and therefore the Blackstone volume control has become buggy. I was hoping someone can upload a cab for the rhodium volume control. I'm sure they made some changes that are different from the blackstone, and I have confidence that this will work.

Yeah, if you are curious the software the conflicts with the volume cabs is AIM Productions: Hourly Chime.

Worked? As in the Rhodium or the Topaz one?

Topaz doesn't work even after resigning with SDK certs.
Rhodium works.
BlackStone works.

Hmmm...I think that's why the Rhodium Cab doesn't work...I only use SDKcerts for wvga fix, and I don't have wvga fix on my phone.
Edit: Nope, that doesn't work either...

It's not identical, if it was identical then Rhodium and Topaz should install exactly the same way BlackStone installs on my phone.
