Hermes Touchflo: anybody willing to give a proper roundup?

Hi,
i was reading through the posts in this forum and over at 4winmobile.com regarding the porting of Touchflo and all the apps unique to Wizard.
What I still don't get is this:
Is there a "working" CAB already out now? So that I would just need to install that CAB to have Touchflo?
If there is, which would be the best ROM to go with it.
Are there any complete Roms, that have Touchflo already enabled?
How stable is the whole thing anyway?
Maybe somebody who is really into this can give us all an update/ walkthrough on this topic, since information on it is widely scattered over several posts at the moment.

roundup... touchFLO is currently only buttonFLO on the hermes.

and at SchapsROM it is only Buttonflo with Blackscreen...

so, there is no proper ROM avaible, that has at least touchButton installed by default?
What about the other questions I asked?

"ButtonFLO" is known to work well with blackmajik and most latest roms.
So that I would just need to install that CAB to have Touchflo?

There is no need to install a cab to assign the button. Just set any button to run the app.

Yes, there is some rom flying around. black majik + "ButtonFLO" but you have to assign the button. The steps to make it function are in there. Just follow.

TouchFLO was not meant/made for hermes but for HTC Touch therefore it doesnt run perfectly but some people at 4winmobile.com are still working on making it better.

There's a Black Majik ROM that was re-cooked with the added files in Windows over at 4winmobile. I think Slueth? cooked it but not 100% sure. I'm actually using it right now, but I didn't add the ButtonFlo CAB cause the first time I used it, it worked for a little, but as you add apps it acts weird, so, I'm using just the ROM and it's absolutely awesome! Super stable, etc!

Probably not, what is it you are wanting to do?

I noticed my tytn battery seems to run out fast, even on a clean rom.
So i think the extended rom could be doing it.

Interesting theory...flash a standard carrier WM6 ROM...which should use the ext_rom for setup stuff....do some tests and see if that changes anything.
Though i gotta say it seems a bit of a strange conclusion that the ext_rom memory area is draining the battery?!?
Are you running a superstorage ROM then i take it?

I did it on my wizard and my battery life went to 2.5 days with slight use.

So maybe making an ext_rom with zero usage...which can be made with the HTC image editor if i remember correctly....do a quick search for it (or i may have it on file somewhere)..
flash it alongside a standard WM6 ROM (non superstorage)......dont bother booting and then flash the WM6/WM6.1 ROM of your choice?? essentially wiping the unused area of memory with zeros perhaps?
Id like to see the results of this if you do have a go?
Are you superCID? if so then flash a normal WM6 ROM, unlock the ext_rom and delete everything in there, this might do the same thing?

thanks for your help guys, But I don't know what you guys are talking about. I know how to cook my own rom by following noobie proof guides, but I have no idea what i'm doing (like no idea what the steps are actually doing to the rom, but i know what i'm clicking?)
most of the roms i cooked for myself failed and always have some programs missing.

i support you......he could have deleted the links to the rom removed all the uploaded files but deleting all the threads is not ethical.....i had a bug which was listed in the page..and when i tried to search it...it was all gone...thanks to google caching i was able to get the old page...but i am not in favor in deleting the entire thread.....if this can be taken care of.....please do so.....mods if possible please put a notice of somekind so people can see the problems earlier instead of having a conscious attack later and others people stands helpless......

i finally found what i needed...but now i have a question..
how can i open the cube. I got it once, but then it disappappeared. Is there a instruction for this rom?
Second question. The bottom and the top of the dispay are green, how can i change them? For example to black??
and last but not least...My Tomtom program has gone. I couldn't find it on the device. When i plug it to the pc an try to connect with the tomtom software, it shows me, that the maps etc are still on the storage card. But i cannot launch the navigation. Also when i use the gprs buton on the left side a strange page comes and somewhere stands, that there is no fix..or something? Whats a fix?
What should i do now, that i still can use this rom Artemis_Touch_4.02_Full_with_4_sided_cube but also my navigation??

1. find it here,there is some text and a pic
2.settings>today>themes
3.you have to find tom tom installation (cab or exe)...i think there is a file in the wiki(slick my signature) because when you flashed the rom,all that was included in the original one was replaced or deleted
install it and it'll work
also,now that you have to download it anyway, i'd suggest you trying iGO6 iGO8,it's great and much smarter and less annoying than tomtom

Thnx for sharing there m8, exidently deleted my my meschle rom folder on my pc.
Now have most of them back, gonna go back to a 3.x vanilla or test the others again to compare them to the wm6.1 roms

Missing important file..
There was a .cab file posted by meschel in his original post which enabled 'messege sent' notification when sending a txt.
The rom's have not got this feature as standard and need this .cab file to fix it.
Its looking really hard to find as people only have the roms and not the extra .cab file he posted too..
Anyone have it?

You can also disable that notification with Schaps Advanced Configuration (3.3 is the newest I guess)

Also, Ive noticed that the Office mobile panel has the office logo. So, my other question is, how do I change the icon of a panel? For example, I want to change the colorless Windows Media player icon to something else. please see below:

Animate from 0 to 6
to chang the icon use chome config hope this helps

Just an opinion, but maybe you guys should offer two version of the ROM, one with the patched SPL in it and one without. Not everybody wants a non-stock SPL on their phone, especially for warranty issues

The same as NRG Rose Rom v1.6 - Remade by Ricky and Stylez in sig only difference is patched USPL

I was wondering everytime I download and have started using the 1.6 or 6.1 versions by ricky my screen goes white is there something that I am doing wrong. Because I like the extras he has but I just hat seeing my screen white.

Do you mean your screen goes white when it times out naturally? If so, I had the same problem when I installed Windows Live. Uninstalling it fixed the white screen issue. But I only had this problem with the Rose ROM...never had it with 6.1.

Edit: I'm referring to the menu animations that are unique to the Rose Rom. The animations you pointed me to are already available in a regular 6.1 Rom via settings>Acessibility... I'm talking about the way the menu slides up when you're in for example, file explorer or Wmp. I miss that. I think it's still in the older Roms..

I enabled animations in my original 1.3 ROM because I think they're neat.I dont know why these guys disabled them... I forget what the registry entry is right now, but it's somewhere in HKLM/System/GDI or something.... Under GDI anyway.

So have you found out how to get them back? I don't want to flash my phone again...
Edit: I ended up flashing my Dash back to NRGZ28's original rom.
Edit2: The registry values are exactly tthe same..
Edit3: I flashed back to this rom.. It's better than the NRGZ28's original in terms of usability.. But I still want the eye candy. If anyone finds out how to get back the animations, please tell me!

Information overload :(

Ok, i must say you guys really have a great community here! It's booming with thread, updates, tweaks, fixes etc. for everything. I've browsed the forums, searched it and i always find several thread concerning the topic i need.
My problem though, is that i can't seem to put all the information i get together! I have been flashing my Diamond a couple times and fallen in love with WM6.5. Currently i have a small rom that i fight with when it comes to sms'ing and dialing/useing the phone. That's a big problem for me.
What i need is a advice really. I need a ROM on my phone that satisfies the following points (in prioritized order):
1. Phone working with number(only) keyboard when i enter a number (this is only a problem with my current rom l3v5y , 25. december). Also when i call one of them "press 1 for bla, 2 for blabla" i need to be able to enter keys, which i can't atm)
2. Texting (email, sms) working with a nice keyboard (ezinput) - not working atm.
3. Danish T9 (i'm really having problems getting this to work => i'm stuck with english dictionary atm)
4. Fast (i'd much rather have fast than fancy!) I don't need touchflo to slow me down.
5. Small (i like to have a lot of free memory) - i really don't need touchflo to hog it all
6. WM 6.5 is nice - it replaces touchflo for me (mostly because of leaving more ram)
I currently have a WM 6.5 version that has the start button and other small icons on the bottom - is that the 6.5.x versions? It seems nice, but definately not a must.
Please, do you have any input? I don't mind doing some work, but i'll probably mess it up if it's too complicated

I still need to have T9 with danish working and i'm still a bit confused about changing radio, misc fixes/tweaks etc. It's a jungle!

LOL, that's how I felt when I got starting but the trick is...don't do anything until you have read for days.
You are past a decent hump at your stage but you still have ways to go. Reading all the stickies is step 1.
Flashing a Radio: Same as flashing a ROM. Just put the both files in the same folder and start the process by going to the RUU_exe. file.
There is also an internal method but I don't want to overwhelm you at this point.

that´s my problem!! when start read, posts over posts i stay confused! dont even know if i need to upgrade\change my radio version and hard spl to change 6.1 to 6.5... and in the majority of chefs dont find that info!! tired of being noob need more time 2 read...grrrrr
edit: with this radio: 1.00.25.05 and hard spl: SPL-1.40.OliNex i will have problems or should upgrade? thanks and sory my bad english

With the Radios, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, try them all out for a day or week at a time to see which gives you the best battery consumption to performance ratio.
As for the HARD SPL, definitely upgrade. Everyone should have Hard SPL 1.93 (located in my signature). The problem is that 1.40 is write protected and upgrading won't be easy. Try first on your own to see if a simple upgrade will work. If it doesn't work, jot down the error number and get back to me.

Thanks for the input I can't seem to figure out if a ROM can contain a radio as well? It seems i have the v1.09.25.23 radio and i'm not sure if the titanium ROM installed that - or perhaps a previous ROM that was prepacked with an installer (ack, i know...) - or if it's default from the factory?
Anyways WiFi doesn't seem to work anymore, could that be because of the radio change or the titanium or perhaps my hardware suddenly faulting? I haven't been using wifi untill now for the last two ROM tryouts - i only need it now for connecting to the local (home)network...

When downloading a chefs rom, they most like give you the ROM only. Titanium is basically the default interface and is always included as it's part of microsofts interface but most chefs shut it off and use manila (either 2.1 or 2.5 versions).
It's possible that something is interferring with the wifi and it's possible that it could be hardware related but the only way to really find out is to flash another rom to rule out the Rom Variable or perhaps it's a app that you installed. Play around with it.

Ah yeah i ment revolution - i'm using the titanium version (not using manila) - i'll probably try and flash to the recommended radio (the one recommended in the revolution thread).
