T-Mo TP2 Limited to only 2 people in a conference room - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

The T-Mobile USA version of the Touch Pro 2 is limited to only adding 2 people to a conference room for a conference call. The unlocked version seems to support many more than that. I'm pretty sure this is not a limitation of the T-Mobile network since in 2002 I was able to conference 6 people using the GSM/GPRS Expansion Pack on an iPAQ H3600.
Has anyone else seen this? Is there a registry hack to allow more than 2 people in a conference room on the T-Mobile Touch Pro 2?

Alright, I think I found it.
In: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE
there's "MaxConferenceSize"
By default it's set to 2, but I just changed it to 6. I can't really test it right now, but after soft resetting, I can select plenty more than 2 people for a conference call.

You hacker! I'm jealous, I want the touchpro2. Thanks for the info, it might come in handy when I eventually get it.

To me, it doesn't matter either way. I was disappointed with the conference room feature. Of course, I was expecting for it to automatically call ALL participants and connect them at the same time, but still, any improvement on having to say, "hold on, I need to look up this contact, call them, and then join them on" is good.

great job adamz!
totally works and tested. i set it to 6... fyi, 6 means 5 additional people (you are the 6th)
i kinda wanna set it to 10! heh.

Unfortunately GSM and UMTS weren't designed to work like that. No phone can do that.

i am a noob "is there a how to" so i can change it also

I can add conference members but it wont dial out to them. Has someone actually been able to SPEAK to more than 2 people at a time?

tmobile doesnt allow more people. att recently increased their conference calling size to match the touch pro 2's conference feature. its funny cause the iphone still cant do it.

What is the TP2's conference feature limits? What did ATT raise it to?

i know i used to be able to talk to 6 people at once on T-Mobile about ... 6 years ago... when did they change it ? All this time i thought it was my phone that didn't allow more and was finally happy there is a solution . Guess not

tmobile im pretty sure is only you and 2 other people. att used to be that (its what the iphone supports) and they recently changed it (i think just before the tilt2 launch) to you and 5 other people. which is the max for the touch pro 2.

Conference call feature locked to 2 people on tmobile's network!!!

just to give an update on this topic.......... i tried to conduct a conference call on tmobile and i did perform this edit to my phone and did a soft reset. but i was unable to peform more than adding two people. i tried to add a third and phone just blanked out and went back to waiting for me to add another person into the conference. so i called tmobile and asked them if i might have done something wrong in my editing (so i didnt spend the rest of my night picking my registry apart) or if tmobile is **** blocking me.
Well turns out that tmobile wont let us add more than two people into a conference call with our wonderful, illustrious, conference call, flagship phone then the lady went on to say that i can unlock my phone and use it on another carrier some time in the future if i ever change carriers.... HELLO?!!! you working for the other team or WHAT?!?!?! SHE MUST HAVE BEEN HIRED FROM AT&T

Great. So T-Mobile first makes the beautiful stock TP2 fugly, leaves off the 3.5mm headphone jack, then locks down conference calling--one of the phone's best features. Thanks a lot guys.
I guess I shouldn't be too upset with my grandfathered t-zones plan but still...

hey, I like the T-Mobile TP2 design.
Registry hack doesn't defeat network limit. Oh well.

The two person add (3 people total) for conference calling as a T-Mobile network limit shouldn't be a surprise.
Look at the description of conference calling feature for any T-Mo phone that has it and it specifically says "add 2 people" (or similar). I don't know how long it's been like this...but at least a couple of years, maybe more.
So, yeah, it's the network -- and nothing done to tweak the phone will change that.

Dual Sim Question?

Hi All,
I need to be able to have to incoming lines on one phone (if possible)
I'm fine making all calls on one line but is it possible to receive calls and txts on 2 sims simultaniusly without having to tell the phone to switch?

no can do.
the best you're going to get is to either get a new generation dual sim thing which has built in software to swap the active sim every x minutes.
or
set up call forwarding on one sim to forward to the other. then you'll get the txts etc as soon as the auto change takes place in a few mins
Thanks I'll see if T-Mobile still offer a priority line.
Back in the days when they were one2one I had a great package with two incoming phone numbers one the one line so you could forward all calls strait to vm effectively turning the phone of in a restaurant while still getting calls from the sitter or office etc...
Didn't see the point then but could really make use of it now lmao
hehe one2one.. i remember them.. my first mobile contract was with them.. over 10 years ago. ouch.
You might want to take a look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=273387&highlight=dual+sim
before you get a duals sim adaptor, should you decide to take this approach.
Maybe read the thread from back to front, though.
As has been pointed out before, there is no option available to be reachable on thwo sims at the same time.
Bye,
Chris
The other option might be Internet calling with the new WM6..
Not sure what you need the other number for.. and there are a lot of limitations with this.. but it might do what you want..
Nice Avatar btw.. Can't wait for the new season.. only one more day!!
Thanks Guy's, I'm wating to see if T-Mobile can sort this for me at the moment as this is the only practical solution.
I serve two masters!
As I am self employed all my clients/suppliers have my current number, however, I now also work full time in a school but their number is witheld. I often get calls from suppliers when I'm at work (numbers also witheld). It would be much more convenient to divert all calls to this number directly to voice mail and then give the school my 'priority number' as this is the best way for them to contact me accross the large campus. But I refuse to carry and pay for two phones, if they don't like me answering the phone at work tough!
How come you get the new series in the states on the same day as us when we have to wait for all your cool new programs?

[Q] Inc - Can't use Page Plus...

Good morning,
I have a Droid Incredible, along with quite a few other Android phones. I previously used this phone on Page Plus. About a year ago I moved it's phone number to an Eris to give it to my Dad and it's been in a drawer ever since. I decided last week to reactivate on Page Plus and can't get it reactivated. It only sends and receives TXT, impossible to place a phone call.
To determine if this was a phone issue, I tried to activate two other phones (Moto and LG feature phones) and they do the exact thing. I think it is a problem in this market. I even tried to activate a Seattle number. Every time I attempt to make a call, it rings in short rings then goes "beep, beep, beep" and hangs up. I have spent countless hours talking to Page Plus and they just end the conversation that "this is an unsupported phone". So Page Plus appears to not work for me.
Sooooo....... I am also on i-Wireless Home (a Sprint MVNO) with a Hero. Good phone, slow but it gets the job done. I would like to replace it with the Inc. Possible? I did some searches and found some old threads (like 6) people asking about running on Sprint. They are over a year old. Has anyone got any thoughts on what is going on with Page Plus, or suggestions of another Verizon MVNO I can use to get the Incredible operational? Right now, it's just a feature rich PDA. Would like to be able to at least make a phone call on it.
I bring this question here only because the PP community has no idea what's wrong.
Cheers,
thom
Being an ex-PPC rep I can tell you from experience that the reps hands truly are tied in these situations. I'd recommend ensuring the device's NAM is programmed correctly (MDN, MIN, AND SID). does dialing *22890 change any of those values to something incorrect? Are you hearing any authentication issues? Did the rep contact WTS (known now as ODTS)? Although PPC specifically may not support the device other MVNOs may meaning wholesale support may be able to look into it further. Try submitting a support ticket or speaking to a tier one rep

I'm on PP+ with my D Inc and no problems at all. Go over to KittyWireless and shoot them an email and ask if they'd heard of this before and try to enlist their help.
(note: I am in no way affiliated with Kitty, I've been lurking for a few months now and registered last night to thank Jermaine with his Stock+ rom so that's why it's my first post )
I am SOOOO happy to report that my Incredible is finally on Page Plus. I have been working with Kitty, but they couldn't fix my problem.
Final solution was to call PPC for the 8th time and have them ESN swap to a device they had in house, activate, place the first call, then ESN swap back to me. I am now up and running, and couldn't be happier
Then again, I got upgraded with my company phone today to an AT&T Moto Atrix, so now I'm off to root that sucker

[Q] Calling Issue or Software/Phone Trait on Note2

Hello,
My Carrier is AT&T and I have a New Note 2, also we have LTE enabled in our area. Let me explain... When I make a Phone Call and bring up the keypad and dial the number then tab the "Green Dial Key", I have noticed a very annoying delay until the number dialed starts to ring. I would venture to say its up to a 20 second delay, the phone issues a Ascending "Toodle doodle doo" and then rings. Descending tones when you disconnect- I assume the tones are normal. But the delays to getting a number to ring is something Ive never experienced before.
My son got a Samsung S3 at the same time I got the Note 2 and he has the same problem with Dialing Phone #'s and delays to the number "Actually Ringing". The Problem is AFTER yo dial the number and tab the green Call Soft Key. (We have a family plan on AT&T)
I posted on Android Central and several Ops answered stating they have a similar problem, with no answers.
I made a Call to AT&T, Technical Services and as in Past, famous words, " Never heard of that before"
Hope someone here can give a better explanation or better yet an Answer.
Also have a Quick side question. "Does the Galaxy Note 2 AT&T support 802.11ac Wireless Routers?"
Thank you in Advance!

Sorry I can't help with your first problem but I can tell you that the note 2 is not compatible with 802.11ac.

I have the same issue with two Galaxy Notes II, I noticed there is a long delay before the number dialed starts to ring. The delay is about 5-10 seconds. I went to an AT&T store and they replaced one of the phones for me because I was under the 14-day return policy but I am still having the same issue with the new Note II.
I live in Michigan.
Same issue on the S3. Root and install a custom rom and you won't have the issue. It seems like it has to do with the AT&T phone book.

Does the issue happen everywhere or just when you are home? For me it only happens in a 5 mile radius of my house but if I travel outside my city all calls are fine. I've switched two S3's and two Note2's and on my third Note2 and finally realizing after calling AT&T every other day for a month I finally realized it was because my cell reception runs from the floor so I need to buy a micro cell tower. Not sure if my story and experience helps but the issues sounds exactly like mine.
I had this issue with my Samsung Infuse...

Had the same problem. Still do actually after getting an upgrade to the note 2 from the s3. I noticed that the phone disconnects from the mobile data before you can get the phone to ring. . My data then wouldnt turn back on 75% of the time and the phone would have to be rebooted .

Note 8.0 LTE version

Would it possible to hack this device for phone calls?
Does it have the needed hardware/radio for traditional cellular calling (not voip or volte)?
A friend of mine told me that At&t will assign you a number with your SIM, would they try to roadblock you from using it to make calls?
Just wondering if anyone else is interested in attempting this.
mine is hk lte version and it supports phone call out of the box. So isn't at&t's?

I keep asking the same questions, I know when Samsung announced the Note 8.0s they promised ATT customers a converged phone and Tablet, the "Phablet" as they so mwere marketing it, then I think when ATT and Samsung saw how much they were going to lose in revenue from people doing away with redundant "iDevices" they paniced and screwed over the customers and removed the dialer from the firmware.

I'm sure someone here could make it work as far as the device goes, but At&t holds the power in the end. Their model doesn't come with a phone plan, just a data plan. This is likely where it would fail.
could you edit your post title and specify the model number since there is multiple LTE version of the Note 8 please.
hi ,
i dont own one , yet , but my other galaxy devices i have google voice installed and then talkatone setup and it can make and recieve calls via google voice number , its voip but it works over data and wifi , so you can use your google voice number just like a normal cell number ,
check it out , i know its not the exact solution you were looking for but it does work , i cut my bill in half over 65$ taken off by lowering my minuets , forwarding all incoming calls to my google voice, and taking off text messages , you still need minuets though , the forwarding costs 1 min per call and someones ALWAYS gonna call your previous number until you get everything moved to GV

Anyone getting this email? "AT&T is shutting down our 3G network."

This phone nor my Wife's mate 10 pro use 3G so I am confused about this email.
Anyone else?
I received it as a text message on my Mate 20x in May. If this happens I may switch to Spectrum Cable mobile service which uses the Verizon network.

I actually did 2 months ago when they just shut my phone off completely. Spoke with a cool rep who turned it back on.
But I haven't reached out to them about this text message.
But here is the list https://www.att.com/idpassets/images/support/wireless/Devices-Working-on-ATT-Network.pdf
Funny, SM-N975U1 which is NOT a 5g phone seems to be on the list of accepted phones. This is a very big bummer.
I'm gonna ride the wave and pretend I didnt' even get a phone from AT&T and see just how long I can keep using my Mate 20x here in the USA on ATT.

Funny you mention this as a week ago I stumbled upon a thread "boycotting" the slim "cigarette" phones possessing aspect ratios greater than 16:9. From what I had gathered from reading through user's complaints, about 97% favored the re-adoption of the classic wide AR of phones while disfavoring (with some expletives) these Malboro cigarette phones.
In my opinion, in order to please certain audiences (that would be us) phone companies should at least provide 2 phone flavors, slim and wide. Personally I wouldnt mind creating a fb campaign if you guys would like to join that protest.

My best advice to you if you really want your mate 20x to remain your keepsake is to swap networks to another gsm which would be a smart move by paying a similar price

Ok guys I have created a facebook page. Keep in mind that this is the first time I have ever created a fb page regarding a company. Note also, I'm not a social media person so bear with me. That said, I strongly encourage suggestions as to how best to make it look right and communicate the right message to the company and our audience. It is still a work in progress. Please don't hesitate to add your opinions.
I need 24 likes on the fb page before I can add a username according to fb rules.
Let me know what you think!
Stop Samsung
Stop Samsung. 1 like. This is a campaign to compel Samsung Electronics to manufacture wide phones again. Unfortunately, today's narrow phones have replaced wide phones leaving consumers disappointed...

EDIT--
On the fb page the link is in chinese for some strange reason although I'm not chinese and reside in USA. If anyone here can suggest how to fix that do let me know. Thanks.
Hi guys. A few of you have reacted favorably to my fb page on urging samsung to resurrect the wide aspect ratio. However, I'm new to making fb pages. If you want to submit some ideas to me on how to reach a greater audience or enhance the page to convey our message better, please do so. Thank you.
Getting back to the initial point of this thread, my phone was turned off today by AT&T in the United States. I spoke with AT&T customer service. They indicated that even though the EVR-L29 is a 4G LTE phone, it handles voice calls over a 3G network. There is supposed to be a setting on the device to switch the phone to 4G LTE calling (VoLTE.) However, when I checked my settings, the switch was not there. I posted in another thread on XDA about this situation; but have not heard back. In the meantime, has anyone found a solution? I was told that all of these devices would be turned off permanently in February as the 3G network will be dismantled. I'm hoping to find a solution before then because I really don't want to let this phone go. Otherwise, are there any suggestions for other larger (7") screen phones that do 4G LTE calling on US bands supported by either AT&T or T-Mobile? Thanks.

What bothers me is that cricket, H2O, etc... Which are all on the AT&T network have not been told they need to get a LTE voice phone.
My parents are in cricket with OnePlus unlocked phones. My sister is in H2O.
Business as usual for carriers that use AT&T towers so what the **** is going on at AT&T?

Yeah I was going to do that but then my wife wanted to upgrade phones and I kind of wanted the better cameras of the S21 Ultra. Plus I never felt the Mate 20x was that big anyway (compared to what I had before). Still hoping for the return of the 16:10 phones one day or better foldable ones
Anyway, at least at this time, I dont see a problem with Tmobile and the Mate 20x.
