SIP client for TP2/use BT headset for it? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Can someone please recommend a good SIP software client for TP2? And also, is there a way to have that client use built-in small speaker rather than speakerphone on the back for output, or use BT headset instead?
I tried SJphone but can't figure out how to make it use BT headset for audio input/output, and it's really old version as well.
I tried Skype with same result, it uses only speaker on the back.
Thanks!

Go into the bluetooth control panel, select settings, audio, and tell it to route system audio to the headset.
Voila.

Thanks, just found that setting myself as well
Still not sure if it's possible to make it use internal speaker rather than speakerphone one, I wonder if there is any registry setting to make that work...

The SIP client i'm using for a long time now is AGE Phone Mobile.
Very usefull and can root voice call where ever you wan't. The price is not very heavy, and no bug with th Touch HD nor TP2 to declare.
Hope it can help.

Are you currently using this on a TP2?
I've currently got PortSIP and while it works I need to use AudioRoute to send the sound to the ear piece and regardless in both cases (earpiece and speaker phone) the sound level is pretty low; even with the phone's sound level set to max.
Any of those issues fixed with the software you're suggesting?

I have also been using AGE Phone Mobile for a while now, but haven't found a way to route the sound from back speaker to the one in the earpiece.
Can you please guide how it is to be done?
Thanks

@Pat007 : Yes it runs in my TP2 since the begining without any kind of problem.
@vinayaksupekar : To route the audio, go to your settings, third menu (number 3) and in speaker set system to default. Press next and Switch speakers during call must be check. After that, don't forget to save your settings. Runs good for me.

Thanks. Will try it out. There is one more query about Age Phone. Is there any way the handset can be put on mute? I have noticed that if I go on conf calls through there are times when one needs to mute the microphone.
Any idea?

XDA2s and MS Voice Command 1.5

Hi all,
Does the XDA2s and Microsofts Voice Command work on a XDA2s?
I'm not English, but I'm sure my English is good enought!
Whenever I give a voice command I get a "please repeate" error..
I think it's something with the mic gain, but where and how do I set it lower? Enabling/Disabling the Microphone AGC settings did not really help!
Any suggestions?
You should rather forget about this application. I tried to use it but with no success, exactly like you. Then I tried other applications (with the same result) and finally I followed suggestions from this forum: Neuvoice - it works and it's cheap.

Thanks Maciej L,
Yes I think I will dump it.. It really sucks...
Looks nice the Neuvoice. To bad there is no demo to test it 1st
Yes there is a demo version, just download the full version from somewhere and it works as demo until you purchase the unlock code (as far as I can remember - but I'm not 100% sure - so you should by yourself)

XDA IIs Fonix Application
I have just received my XDAIIs upgrade from an XDA II and it comes complete with Fonix Voice Dial. It automatically records test voices against your contacts (name number) and then you can call it up any time. You can also record your own voice which makes it more efficient. It also works with bluetooth. It seems an OK applicaiton to me.
Is this what you have been talking about?
In a quiet environment, it really doesn't have any problems with recognizing my commands. As long as you don't have a terrible English accent. However, you can forget about if you are in a loud environment though.
of where you have downloaded it to you.
I don't find any demo in any place

Voice Command 1.5
well, I have to say MS Voice Command works great for me. 95% hit rate on about 1000 contacts in my xdaIIs. Even in the car. Far better that V1.01. A couple of tips from my experienece with it.
1. Make sure the microphone auto gain is "disabled"
2. If it initially has problems and hit rate is very low, a soft reset usually sorts it out
3. Map the "record" button to Voice Command for easier access.
4. If your car is noisy, use a wired head set while driving. (I have not been able to get the bluetooth voice dialing to work at this point)

Hmmm... With none of the Voice dial programs I've been able to get the bluetooth to work.. Not sure if it's the bluetooth unit itself, or if it's some ROM version thingy...
The BT headset is a SE HBH-600. The XDA2s is with ROM version 1.12.62 WWE and radio version 1.02.00.
Can/will this work with bluetooth voice dialing??
MS Voice Command & BT Voice Dialing
No, sorry, I have not been able to make it work. I think its still an issue with the implementation of the BT stack (in this case the Widcomm stack) on the HTC devices. I can establish a connect from my headset to the device, but does not "link up" with voice dialing.
I now use a regular noise cancelling wired headset in the car, via an adapter plug sold by PockPCTechs (www.pocketpctechs.com) Other wise just use the phone mic to initiate a voice command dialed call

I was going to ask how well this works?
I'm getting a BT car kit fitted literally in the next hour and was hoping I'd be able to voice dial like I could my old Nokia, while driving.
I am using
O2 xda2s with microsoft voice software
I have a fairly noisy sports car but it works well..
I have the voice mapped to contacts button so one press and direct voice towards pda and no botha.... about 95% hit rate on 200 contacts..
I must add it has only been that good since buying a brodgit car cradle so it positioned well.. obviously you have to turn stereo off
the only complaint i have with it is that when the voice speaks back to you to confirm what you have said I cant hear it very well..
does anyone know of any settings to improve audio levels..
cheers
stay happy
Hi Guys
I have upgraded my 'Voice Command' handsfree solution as follows.
1. Added an FM 'Sound Feeder' from Pocketpctechs, that connects to the xda via one of 2 different pocketpctechs audio adaptors.
2. Tune the radio to one of the 8 frequencies supported by the Sound Feeder and the xda then plays all audio output through the car stereo system. This works for all apps, including my Navman GPS and Media Player!. I also mapped a button (I used the record button) to Voice Command, so one press activates VC and I can initiate a call by voice from there.
The really nice thing about this arrangement is that if i have media player running through the system, and a call comes in, the music mutes automatically, the phone rings, and i can take the call. When you end the call, media player picks right up again!
3. For the microphone part, there are 2 options:
a. The one I am using right now, is to use the pocketpctech 'single' adaptor, that allows sound to play through the stereo, while keeping the mic of the xda active. This means the xda picks up your voice directly for voice command and telecons, while at the same time playing the sound you normally hear via headphones, through the stereo. This works great for the incoming voice, although you need to talk fairly loudly for the party calling to hear you well. Decent enough though...
b. The upgrade I will make this weekend is to use the 'dual' pocketpctechs adaptor. This one accepts the soundfeeder on one side, plus a regular 2.5mm heasdset on the other. This one disables the internal xda mic, and allows you to use the mic from the headset. So I plan to permantly position this mic (after cutting off the ear bud!) on the door pillar as in normal car hands free installs. This should improve the outbound sound a good bit....
Will let you know how I get on
Regards
Chris
In the end, the Parrot CK3100 car kit has its own built in voice recognition, so I have no worries
Great! I looked at the Parrot a while back. How much was it? Work ok?
Regards
Chris
Well, I've not really had chance to test it properly yet, seems to be good. Cost me £180 to have it fitted, the old one removed and a bit of extra power wired in for my GPS & PDA.
Hi Andy
Sounds good. Let us know how it works out for you. I am interested in how the bluetooth connection holds up. I am still having problems with my xda maintaining a connection with my bluetooth headset.

Need to send audio to my BT handset (willing to pay $$)

Hi guys
I've recently purchased an XDA IIs and i just love it! I also got a JabraBT800.
I've got Destinator 3 and was wondering if there was any way I could use the BT headset to play the destinator voice prompts, and infact, all other audio (including audio recordings on the XDA and other audio such as mp3's etc.)
I know the quality wont be good when listening to mp3's but quality doesnt matter.
I'm sure there would be a workaround to using the headset for this purpose? I've searched the 'net all over and have not been able to find anything!
HELP!! I'm willing to pay $ in order to get this working!
Anyone??
Here is the magic key, that gets me very close, with a temporary shift of sound to the Jabra 250, then back to the internal speaker. Maybe other headsets can keep the sound transfer or someone can find the next step to get this stable.
HKLM\Software\Widcomm\Plugin\Handsfree
Change AudioPreferences to (3)
Change AudioHandling to (19)
Make sure SupportedFeatures is (55)
What did this change?
Go to Bluetooth Settings, Services, Hands Free, and hit the Advanced button. Notice the whole new checkbox called "Standard Audio" and paragraph about playing music, notifications, etc. on your headset.
My Jabra now is labeled an Audio Gateway in the Bluetooth manager. Still works for phone calls, partners and begins to transmit standard audio with every sound. Just reverts back in internal speaker after 1/2 second of sound or so.
Good luck with the next steps. I noticed there is a AudioGateway device defined in the registry using AudioGateway.dll There is also an BTAudioGateway.dll, but it is not defined anywhere in the registry, maybe this is a key registry setting that is missing.
Anyone got more info on this? It seems the feature is there, we just need a way of making this perm!
Thanks for that info Paul.
I tried it and I did get the 'Audio Gateway' setting in my BT settings page. However, I could not get the 1/2 second audio at all.
Connection status also showed no activity sent while audio was playing on my XDA IIs.
Has anyone gotten this working at all? (Even the 1/2 second audio bit)?
I changed the keys, and the new check box appeared. I did not notice any audio, but im not sure when it was expected....I.e. when you change the keys or when u check the tick box. Not sure....
The feature seems to be there, and would love to have this functionality, and to be able to use the bluetooth's mic for recording on the device would also be great, i.e for Voice Commands etc.....
Any developers willing to take on this project?
I'm willing to donate $100 to the first person that comes up with a workable solution!

Where and how do you locate the directory HKLM\Software|Widcomm|Plugin|Handsfree to make the changes?

hi
i phurchase the kais patch for bt but its didnt help and not working
It is a registry setting, not a directory. I used Raxco Registry editor for it, but there are many others available.
It appears the problem is missing registry keys. On the PDAPhoneHome.com forums one of the members decompiled the audio gateway DLL and the bluetooth audio DLL and found that they are looking for registry keys that dont exist, namely the contents of HKLM\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\BTConfig\Services\0005 and HKLM\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\BTConfig\Services\0006. The IPAQ and Axims that have this capability already have these keys defined. So the question is, does anyone have a PPC (Not necessarily a Blue Angel or even an HTC) with these keys defined in the registry?
Hi guys
Any updates on this?

Bluetooth Headset+HTC Device

Hi,
I'm proudly to have a bluetppth headset now. and i have to say it works very fine for me. with a few registry changes i even can listen to the music with the headset, but less quality, but it works. my problem is now that i can't use the voice speed dial by pressing the button on the headset. it only opens the phone keypad
i don't want to put out my phone everytime to dial or number or to use the voice speed dial. i want to start it with the headset. my question now is:
is there any possibility or programm to assign buttons from the headset to the phone, that i can do other stuff, like oben programs or something like this.
would be nice if anyone can help me.
btw. i have a htc herald

For using voice dialling you can use 'MS Voice Command 1.6' or 'Cyberon Voice Commander' along with 'JETware Mobile' application.
For assigning hardware key, you can do so with 'AE Button'.
Try it, I hope it'll help you definately.

Hi,
i have a Nolan Bike Helmet with the N-COM Bluetooth Headset.
When i connect it with my HTC Touch i can see it and use it as a Phone Headset but not as stereo wireless for listening music... even if it is suable in such way with other phones.
In fact if i click on the bluetooth entry in the settings of the helment the "stereo wireless" option is greyed out
Any idea?
Any registry editing that can trim usable the stereo wireless???

Handsfree functionality: Do I still need a carkit?

Assuming I have my TP2 in a dash holder like this one from Brodit (for navigation purposes):
Since one of the main features of the TP2 is its handsfree functionality, I was wondering, will I still need a (bluetooth) carkit? Has anybody tried using the TP2 handsfree while driving? Could you understand the other person and, more important, could the other person hear you?
This car holder has only a power supply. But there is no hands free function available. For this reason you need a bluetooth headset / carkit.
Handsfree while driving is good. I heard other people loud and clear and they do no not notice any echo (I asked later) and can understand me.
It works while using navigation software too.
So I won't use any extra hardware!
I've stopped using my bluetooth handsfree. The built-in handsfree is just as good, if not better - both for me and for the person I'm speaking to.
What you need and what might be the best solution could be two differnet things.
I'd recommend investing in a copy of Microsoft Voice Command, press one button and you can tell the phone to dial a number or any of your contacts, it saves trying to navigate the phone menus at the same time as navigating the roads

Bluetooth car-kit: hands-free and stereo audio

I have been using the Touch Pro 2 for a little while now, and I must say: no regret at all that I've bought it.
But the reason I post here is because I'm having a problem with my car-kit and the Touch Pro 2 when they are connected through bluetooth.
First of all, some data about the car-kit
Car stereo: JVC KD-BT22
Bluetooth functions: handsfree calling and Bluetooth Audio Streaming
Bluetooth version: 1.2 certified
Profile: HFP 1.5, OPP 1.1, A2DP 1.2, AVRCP 1.3
The situation:
When I pair the devices I can check two options:
1) Handsfree
2) Stereo Audio
This should be fine, but the problem comes next:
- When I both check handsfree and stereo audio, I don't get any streaming audio (I just hear about one second the song which is playing at the phone), if I call or get called nothing hapenned except the display of the phone showing the caller. The car-kit just keeps playing (for example) the CD.
- When I uncheck the stereo audio, just connecting the handsfree everything works "fine" (some small problems, not mentionable).
- When I only connect stereo audio the same happens as described before: the song which is playing at the phone I hear about one second, and after that it's silenced (the song is still "going forward", but no sound, nor on the phone, nor on the car stereo).
I've tried different set-ups, searched the forums and didn't saw anyone with this problem/no sollution, so I hope someone could help me.
This happened with the Stock Rom and also the custom rom I'm using right now, no difference. When I connect a stereo headphone (from Nokia) through Bluetooh, everything works fine.
don't pair from the phone use your Radio to pair...i had the same problem with my Pioneer at first so i searched for the device from my stereo and it worked just fine and ...i hope this helps... and make sure your discovery is always on...take care!
Well, that in a case makes sense...
The carkit also connected to my phone when discovery was turn off. Seemed strange to me already. A little, maybe stupid, question: what do I need to swith off/turn off on the phone so the phone won't connect to the carkit, but that I have to let the carkit connect to the phone?
HTC aware
I have similar problems with the BT stack in the TP2, which is disappointing having migrated from a Snap. I e-mailed HTC who admit they are aware of BT problems with the TP2 and advised me to keep an eye on the support page for a fix.

I also tried mailing HTC about this problem. The reply wasn't so hopegiving
"We're sorry, but the carkit isn't compatible. Please fill out the form for our technical support team"... Summary: I've not been too lucky with this combination
Hope they might do something about it after all. Me just thinking that Bluetooth = Bluetooth, but it's more complicated than that.
I also have the same problem with JVC-KD-AVX2 streaming audio. couple of times i did manage to get it to work, but once the stereo is turned off and on, i lose the streaming again.
i called HTC and emailed them. one said my stereo is not compatible, but i did have it working kind of.
not sure what the problem is as the touch pro1 worked fine. also my friends N97 worked fine

I can't connect/pair the phone using the stereo, to bad.
Well, I have the Pioneer Stereo and what I discovered was you have to do it from the stereo. For some unknown reason it errors out from phone. Since that, I have no problems, further more it reads my text as well as incoming e-mails. Hope that help

Which Pioneer are you using? I'm using the F700, and for some reason it won't mute the radio when in a call. I haven't gotten time to mess around with it much though. Reading incoming texts would be great.
i bought a car kit MP3 player for my car. I paired it with my TP2 and enabled the "BT Audio" and "BT Handsfree". Outgoing calls work fine with no problems at all. But during incoming calls there is a problem. If the incoming call is from someone saved in my contacts, the BT carkit does not ring. If its from an unknown number (not saved in my contacts), it works perfectly. I tried all the tweaks and hacks in this forum but nothing worked. Anymore ideas.

Try the cab from this thread ------> Fix for playing ringtones over bluetooth headset.
It's meant so that the actual ringtone you have set will play on the car kit. I know my car kit used to have its own ring which was... boring to say the least. Now the various ring tones set to people on my phone play through the car kit. Anyway... This MIGHT fix the issue you guys are having as well.

Yes i do have diifferent ringtones for contacts and also different pictures. The problem is in the contacts name. When i remove the name and leave it unnamed it works fine.
