I've rooted my HTC hero. But is the CyanogenMod also for the HTC hero?
What i've done:
- connect usb
- Restart phone holding on+retun button
- fastboot boot cm-hero-recovery.img
- In recovery console made a backup, wiped phone
- Install update.zip ( is update-cm-3.6.8.1-signed.zip renamed to update.zip)
After that the phones reboots and is stuck on the HTC HERO bootup screen, and wont work anymore. I need to fastboot again to recover everything
Any idea's how to get the CyanogenMod working?
i think its for the dream...not our hero
or it would have already been posted in these threads
as i guess thats where you got the update from
I get it, thanks.
Hi there,
I should not try to load it in to the Hero.
It could brick youre phone! Just wait will the guys show up here?

Hi guys,
I just bought my One X today. Since it is my first android i am quite noob in all the issues regarding flashing/rooting.
I already unlocked the bootloader, install the clock recovery and then when I try to flash the new rom, i forgot not to extract the zip file so things start to mess up.
Now I am stuck at the HTC boot up screen. I have tried all the methods at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik...very_-_what_to_do_in_the_event_of_a_bad_flash

but it doesn't work.
The problem is that when i type a command into cmd it keep showing waiting for device
So I don't know what to do now. I really appreciate your help if you could provide step by step.
Thank you so much
OK so as a noob you thought you'd try too root your 1st android phone after having it just one day??? oops! Lesson learned, next time read up loads first and maybe get used to the phone first before trying too root it. Anyway. . .
After installing Clockworkmod did you (as instructed in all the manuals I have read!) do a backup? If so just remove the usb, turn your phone off and go to the cwm boot menu and select restore. Fixed
recovery?
i see you have flashed recovery..
can you get to it??
Press POWER + VOL DOWN until it reboots and keep holding until u get to HBOOT..
from there select recovery and see if that shows up..
if you can get to Recovery, then you can either flash a CUSTOM ROM, or go back to STOCK recovery and then run RUU (a program provided by HTC that will restore you phone to stock) but you also have to relock the boot loader..
based on your choice more info may be required to help you
My best guess is that you have a messed up kernel...
Hi everyone!
Sooo... i think this time i actually did it and ruined my One X.
I updated to ARHD 12 (JB), all went fine. I wanted to flash a different kernel (franco), which consists of the boot.img and a flashable modules.zip. So i flashed the kernel via fastboot, then entered CWM recovery and suddenly remembered i hadn't copied the zip to the phone.
In a moment of slight brain death i reflashed ARHD12 and rebooted, only to remember the kernel isn't included in the ROM (the S-ON problem).
So now i'm stuck at the "HTC quietly brilliant" screen, it won't boot any further, and because the ROM comes with the HTC fast boot setting enabled i can't access the bootloader and therefore adb and fastboot.
Any suggestions on how to get in the phone again or did i mess up bad enough for a trip to the HTC service center?

Custom kernels don't work on the new base mate.
So have you tried holding down power + volm down for at least 15 seconds?
btw, if you don't have the zip file on sdcard, you can mount usb storage in recovery and copy over the files. I seriously don't know why people don't know this...

Yeah, USB mounting didn't work on previous recoveries, i guess that's why i didn't think of it. But the 15s did the trick, thank you! I'm back to ROM boot.img and a working phone, so back to a quiet sunday.
Friend's father recently obtained a HTC One X runing on VIRIGIN network.
We've unlocked the boot-loader, and as soon as we flash clockwork's recovery image, the phone went onto a boot loop.
Once we turned off the phone, we were able to fully boot it onto the stock image.
We've tried..
1. Clearing Fastboot's cache
2. Flashing different recovery images (including the stock one)
3. Factory resting the phone (We were unable to because im guessing it needs its default recovery (It just restarted and didnt reset))
^ All had lead to either a boot loop or just failed and booted normally.
The phone isn't rooted (Im guessing you need a recovery image to flash supersu in the first place)
All help would be appreciated. Thank you for reading this,
Try this
Download the latest TWRP from here (or 2.4.1.0 if you can find it, best version IMO)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25393156
Then put your phone in fastboot and connect usb make sure it says 'fastboot usb'
Then rename TWRP to 'recovery' (no quotes) and copy to your fastboot folder on your PC
Open CMD and type 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' (no quotes)
Then type 'fastboot erase cache' (no quotes)
Do it exactly like that then use the volume + power buttons to go to hboot --> recovery and hopefully it should work
Btw these kinds of questions should go in Q&A
Thank you so much ! What a relief.
Should i delete this thread since its in the wrong section?

hi, i have the same problem right now. did u solved it?
Guys I think i did something a little stupid haha
I received my new HTC M9 today. I rooted the device, installed TWRP just fine, and then I installed a custom ROM (all as I did with my M8).
My problem is that after installing the custom ROM (which installed successfuly) now the phone gets stuck in the HTC logo.
Now adb don't recognize the phone even when I manually enter download mode. I don't know what to do
Can someone give any ideas?
I solved it. Please close the thread
Hello all members !
First - I'm sorry for my English use.
I have a problem with my HTC Desire. I didn't found same situation - or I'm just blind.
I tried to root this device - did it succesfully with Revolutionary method - just recovery install cracked. I've found TWRP 6.0.2 and put it in by fastboot. Later with TWRP installed SuperSU.
Started to put custom ROM - fail. By fastboot I've installed stock HBoot - still ROM failed (status 7). Later I tried to install RUU - after 90+% progress I had fail. Phone stuck on black HTC logo with triangles - but I was able to get into bootloader, TWRP and fastboot . Later I was just reading repair tips from another forums and I've started system by fastboot - stuck on white HTC logo. After all I did... fastboot oem lock.
Now I cant flash HBOOT, zip etc. Just recovery. PB99IMG.zip didnt work. OS are gone.
Now I have question (if you survived this ugly-lang story) - does someone have any ideas how to repair this phone? Do an S-OFF? Say which RUU can rescue me?
Thanks for reading
