Guys I think i did something a little stupid haha
I received my new HTC M9 today. I rooted the device, installed TWRP just fine, and then I installed a custom ROM (all as I did with my M8).
My problem is that after installing the custom ROM (which installed successfuly) now the phone gets stuck in the HTC logo.
Now adb don't recognize the phone even when I manually enter download mode. I don't know what to do
Can someone give any ideas?
I solved it. Please close the thread

Hello all, I recently rooted my HTC One M8 from T-Mobile and flashed a GPE ROM with TWRM recovery. Everything was successful, no big deal at all. I decided a little awhile ago that I would like to get the factory updates, so I decided to install the original GPE recovery. I installed the recovery file "recoverygpe.img" through ABD and FASTBOOT. All was successful, rebooted my phone and decided to install the updates OTA and when my phone went to reboot it and install the updates the screen went black and the little android icon popped up with a red triangle over his stomach. Now my phone won't load past the HTC powered by android screen and my ABD and FASTBOOT won't work at all. I feel helpless probably shouldn't have attempted doing this. BTW I'm using a Mac. If I need to run over my phone and get a new one I will.
Nah you don't have to run over it, okay? Look, just do this:
First, are you s-off or s-on?
ok so i just updated my htc to 4.4.3. before i did that it had TWRP custom recovery flashed to it so i had to flash the stock recovery back to it to make my device able to update. i didnt really find the right stock recovery so i got a recommended one which is: 1.157.112.2(maybe this recovery is the problem why it is not recognised while in fastboot mode.) I rooted my phone before this update so it is still rooted now. So im trying to reflash the TWRP custom recovery to my phone but it doesnt work cus my phone is not listed in the device list. When my phone is in normal mode (normally booted) it gets recognised but when i go into fastboot it does not get recognised anymore. I need a custom recovery to be able to install xposed for rootcloak. cus now my phone is rooted and i cant use bank applications. i installed all kinds of drivers. i installed the drivers via HTC sync manager, i installed them manually, i even installed adb interface drivers. but it still wont work. i have windows 8 and my htc is a tmobile one. can anyone please help me?
oh
oh and also i cannot seem to install MTP DEVICE after the update
and
when my phone is turned OFF and i connect it to a random pc it automatically boots into fastboot mode which is not normall i gues this is a software issue?
Fixed it myself

Hi all.
I have been trying to root and load a custom ROM on my friends Chinese htc one m8.
I unlocked the boot loader fine. Then flashed twrp. Here I missed the actual root of the phone which is silly. I then flashed a custom ROM and now stuck in fast boot mode when I reboot.
I know I missed the actual root section. I tried to plug the phone back in computer and use command window to root. But it says device offline now.
Is there anything I can do? Its not rooted. I just think I've wiped the stock HTC software and I didn't make a back up. Please help
Hello everyone,
Let me apologize before hand because I am a little new to rooting androids. I have searched and searched and nothing seems to work for me. Anyways here is my story. I had my phone rooted with twrp and supersu but on lollipop. I thought it was time to upgrade so I decided to go to the HTC Website and locate the RUU. I downloaded the one in that link and installed it. Everything booted up fine. I installed TWRP and rebooted and it worked. I installed SuperSU as according to this LINK. The only difference is I had already put the zip file on my sd card before loading into TWRP. Moving on. This is where it started to mess up. I rebooted my phone afterwards and was stuck loading and then reloading at the HTC screen for 25 minutes. SO i decided this must not be working so i loaded back into TWRP. I tried DLing different versions of SuperSU and still rebooting at the HTC screen. As of right now my download mode says ***** UNLOCKED ******* S-ON. My OS is 3.38.502.12 and when I had originally installed TWRP my OS said Android 6.0. I am now trying to go back to the RUU and get it to flash the rom again but after hitting next on the installation exe it closes and does nothing. I have tried to look for a ZIP file but HTC apparently hasn't come out with one.
If anyone can help me I'd REALLY appreciate it.
Thanks in advance

Alrighty I'm dumb. I finally got the RUU to work and was able to flash the ROM to default. Now back to trying the TWRP and Super SU install again =D hopefully doesn't bootloop again.
you need a new supersu zip, 2.46 is way too old
Hi,
I don't really know much of rooting and stuff and that is why I have the following problem.
My htc one m8 was rooted for a couple of months but as of yesterday something strange happend.
I really don't know what I did but for the moment my phone is stuck on the boot screen.
By holding power + up + down i can get in the Hboot mode but I have no clue what I can do next.
TWRP is installed and when I try to install a zip in TWRP I have the error of 5DM file missing.
My pc isn't recognizing my phone so I'm really stuck.
Can someone please explain me what I can do? I'm a real noob.
Some extra information, my phone is unlocked, s-on,.. more I don't know.
I would really appreciate it!!!
If you have stock rom and want to have stock too, then you need to flash it by ruu or find an twrp backup for your version.
If you have/want a custom rom then you can easily flash it by twrp, I suggest you updating twrp, then you won't have any issues.
