My GSensor seems to stop working every so often. The screens stop switching to landscale, even the Teeter ball won't roll. A soft reset often takes care of it, but not always. I thought maybe it was some older software that was mucking up the G-Sensor drivers, so I stopped using it. Problems persists anyhow.
Anybody else seen this?

My skype panel stopped to work and is not showing the baloons any more.My rom is the original R3a ita. I saw sometimes it gives me a shell32.exe error but not all the times.I try to unistall, install again and hard reset as well, but the problem was not solved. I also donwloaded again the panel cab but same problem.Changed the hard spl and installed other roms, same problem. I don't know what it can be.I know is not a big issue but actually is strange that is not solved even after a hard reset. Skype is working anyway, just when it is connected i also saw the scroll of the panel is very slow and gets stucked sometimes, while when i close it the scrolling is fast and smooth again
By the way, i also tried to install both int he memory card and the phone memory.
Anyone experienced the same?
same problem here, roms are great and perfect until i install skype, then the shell32 error appears
That's strange as it was working perfectly and suddently stopped. could it be a hardware problem? I took to replace the ribbon cable because opening the slide the phone was freezing, but when back the panel was working, then died...
Well quite sure is not a software problem.I formatted totally with the task 29 and than flashed with a new rom. All works but the baloons in skype panel never appear. It drives me crazy as there are no apparent reasons for this. Is anyone who is using the panel without problems? I also downloaded the panel again but same result. So is not a corrupted cab.
Hey guys i have the shell32 error too.. But im not using skype.. I do install skype, but the skype is not causing this problem for me. my tilewave did. and some time my growing panel. what may cause this anyway? for me it appear to be an error when its lag. then the shell32 error show up. then i have to restart my device.
Hi there. I'm running the OTA FroYo, I've never rooted my phone and never probably will I didn't have any problems with it so far. I've made numerous 720p recordings without problems but this morning when I pressed record the app froze - all labels and icons disappeared and only the camera feed remained. Then when I closed the app my battery started draining fast. With OS Monitor I pinpointed the culprit - mediaserver. It's a system process and I can't kill. I tried killing all apps with a task killer with no luck. When I restart the phone the mediaserver doesn't do any problem until I turn on the camcorder app even if I don't press record. And even if I press record it just freezes again... I tied changing codecs and different settings and making numerous reboots but apparently those things didn't work at all...
So does anybody have an idea how to fix that? Have anybody experienced a similar problem?
I have this same issue. My phone went from 100% at 7am to 15% just before 11am because I made a video last night and didn't reboot the phone afterward. This has only happened since the 2.2 update.
It's good to hear it's not just me... Hope there's a way to resolve the issue. Can we somehow send an inquiry to HTC?
I have the media service running on my orange UK 2.1 phone... I stop it.. nothing happens.. all my pics work fine.. music etc...
just out of interest i had this problem when i had NimBuzz installed and it was on auto login, when i turned auto login on start-up off mediaserver goes.
just an idea
have not got numbuzz or any " extra " music" apps....
I had the same problem after upgrading to 2.2. Wiping my data and settings fixed it.
I don't have Nimbuzz as well...
Well, I hope there's another way to do it. I don't want to erase my data and settings :/
Wow! I just tried recording a video and it worked like a charm! The problem has magically dissapeared! I tried so many things so I can't really point out which one actually worked. Basically I think changing the video codec, unmounting/mounting the SD card (I did it by connecting the phone to the pc as a data device) and restarting the phone helped. I did those things several times in different orders.
Hello I got problems with the g sensor on a desire.
If I play teeter one or two levels are normal but then it loses the calibration and the ball rolls down. If I kill all apps with a task killer, the calibration is normal again, but the problem starts from the beginning.
Ive got the problem with all apps that uses g sensor and I've also tried different roms.
Any ideas?
P.s. I don't have warranty anymore on this device.
I found a strange attribute. If i disable "Auto-rotate screen", i can play Teeter without Problems and can use all the other g-Sensor apps without issues.
But if i enable it, all the problems are back again.
Does anyone has an idea how to use g-Sensor in System and Apps without problems?
I'm guessing this is just an issue with my particular tablet, as I can't seem to find anything to suggest this is a widespread issue, but I just thought I would ask anyway if anyone else has had this issue?
Basically, about once a day the rotation just stops working, usually stuck in portrait. A reboot always sorts it, however, it usually goes again in 12 - 36 hours, with no apparent cause that I can see.
I've done multiple factory resets including wiping and NOT restoring the apps, but to no avail.
Anyone else ever had this issue? (Although I think I probably already know the answer).
FWIW, totally stock 4.4.2.
Try flashing a stock rom. Flash different kernels. Worked for me. Before I was using an app called rotate to lock me in landscape when my tablet would not auto rotate.
The phone randomly reboots when I play HayDay. I thought that there may be a problem with the phone's gpu but I haven't encountered any problems with any other games. Has anyone experienced some similar problem? Any suggestions?
Hmm it may be an software glitch if anything. I know sometimes while playing Spotify and doing other things for some odd reason the system basically crashes and does a soft reboot (goes black and goes back to lock screen and requires me to input pass code). Maybe a similar thing happens with that particular app.
