X-VzW-MDN - Touch CDMA Windows Mobile ROM Development

Is there any reason that the reg. When sending a message does not see the correct number is in place?Or is there away to make the reg point that it is there?Thank You

My phone acts like the X-VzW-MDN is not even entered.I have been fighting this for days now.Reflashing roms and hard rest, following any tut I can find.I dunno what the deal is.I have even tried installing other Acrosoft builds. All my settings under WspHeader are correct.Have my mms options all correct.I am lost even if I flash a factory VZ rom still same error.I called them got new A-Key made sure my phone account was right talked to 3 techs or what VZ calls techs. This Originator Address error is pissing me off lol.I even went as far as to clear the NV ram and restore it from a old one I had,That I know mms worked on.Something seems werid.Any ideas would be nice I posted a thread on it here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=541438
I was going to flash back to V12 but lost the rom boooo.LOL thanks for any help.BTW everything else works but mms.I dunno about gps I never use it anyway.
I have a sprint 6900 running V13 with radio 3.37 on Verizon
Sorry if people think this is a double post but I thought it might need its own thread.

I'm assuming you're trying to make your MMS's work? Assuming you are I have followed these instructions with success on the last several ROM flashes including NFSFAN Win6.5 V13. I have attached the Arcsoft cab that I used after having some problems with the one posted in the NFSFAN 6.5 thread. It could have been user error when I tried NFSFAN's Arcsoft cab, but I figure another option couldn't hurt.
MMS
1. Go to connection settings and select "Manage existing connections"
2. edit the only connection there
3. Name it whatever you want ie "vzw"
4. hit next and enter #777 as the number
5. hit next and put "[email protected]"
and "vzw" as the password
6. hit finish
7. install the attached arcsoft cab
8. do a soft reset.
9. open phmregedit in the start menu
10. navigate to HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcsoftMMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader\X-VzW-MDN
and put your 10 digit phone number for the value
11. wait a min or two and do a soft reset
12. go into messaging select menu and then mms options
13. select the server tab
14. select verizon wireless and change connect via to "the internet",
the other settings should be correct.
15. wait a few min and perform a soft reset once more
16. now mms should work!!!
Every time I've done this procedure my phone number has already been in the X-VzW-MDN spot, but I have always reentered it just because. Also remember to wait a couple minutes before soft resetting after that step.
Edit: I just read your post in the 6.5 thread, this is the solution to your problem. Make sure you uninstall any previous Arcsoft cabs first, then soft reset and THEN follow these directions to the "T".

I have tried that over and over not tring to be rude.LOL I do not think its something I am doing but a stuck reg or something I dunno.Thank you tho I will try it again

OK so I bought a sprint 6900 off a friend switched a vaild esn to it.I have VZW service mms has worked until I flash V13 to it.I called VZW to make sure my account was provisioned right.and get a new A-Key after fighting this error for a few days.I have flashed I dunno how many roms and tried I dunno how many fixes and tuts.I have tried every cab for Acrsoft you can name.I know all info on the phone is correct due to the fact I have entered it in my sleep lol.I erased my NV ram and reinstalled it from a date I know my mms was working. My X-VzW-MDN is correct and connection setting is correct.I wondering if VZW has done something on there end to stop mms on there end after the fact which I dought. When my phone goes to send a mms the icon pops up and flashes a few times and then I get the error.I dunno what else to try being that I have reflashed a factory rom and cleared the NV ram a few time now.My latest setting are V13 on VZW with GC arsoft and followed the Cody bear tut to a T.Still nothing same ol error. My net works just fine and my settings for mms are right and my X-VzW-MDN are there.I am wondering if my phone is not picking u that it has the right phone number in the area.I have no clue as to what to try now.I thank everyone for the help.I am thinking about switching to a toucj pro so if anyone can pm me the full exe for cdma 3.0 or higher that would be great.

these phones suck, my mms will not work for the life of me, switching phones is your best bet these phones are headaches and they really are garbage

That happen to me too, i could the not X-Vzw-MDN but what i found out that one of the arcsoft cabs has it and one does not so i switch from one cab to the other and the other and walla! i found it.Try getting a diff arcsoft cab.

I've also had to reinstall the same GC arcsoft twice to get the X-VZW-MDN to even show up.

it will not show up unless you wait a couple mins after installing and soft reset

i've never had a problem using the directions provided above. always sets MMS up properly.

Touch Pro Internet Connection Problem

I purchased 2 Sprint TP's and reprogrammed them to work on the Verizon network. Both work for voice but only one can access the internet and I can not figure out what is wrong with the other phone. I am new to cell phone programming so my knowledge is very basic. I followed instructions contained on PPCGEEKS at http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=44663. I am using the stock VZW ROM, I've set the MIP according to instructions but when I try to connect at 1X with the one phone I get a message saying "error, network problem, dialing #777". I have tried to do a hard reset but can not do it for some reason so I have reinstalled the VZW ROM a couple of times and setup the programming according to the instructions on PPCGEEKS but I get the same error. What can I do to make this work? The MIP is retained when I reinstalled the ROM-I wonder if I could erase the MIP and redo it if that might not fix the problem. I do not know how to erase it of course. I have spent all weekend trying to get this to work and I really need help.
Thanks
p.s. I got the phone to work finally-not sure why but here is what I did. I found some software on the phone that would do a hard reset at settings/memory/clear storage tab-good stuff to use. I then verified with Verizon that my account was setup correctly. Then I put the old phone back on the network and tried to access data on it and it worked ok so I then put my TP back on the network. Evidently when I did this, it rewrote some information that it was not writing before to the Verizon computers when I did *228 3 because I was then able to get data to work on 1X. After that it works fine. It took me forever to figure this out so hopefully this message will save someone time in the end.

New User!

I have looked EVERYWHERE on here and am a bit confused as to what I need to do.
I have a SPRINT(CDMA?) Diamond Touch or whatever.
Rom Version : 1.09.651.5
Radio Version : 1.00.00F
Hardware Version : 0080
PRL Version : 60671
PRI Version : 1.44_003
Those are the specs. Phone is about 2 years old and I have the $7/month TEP from Sprint anyways.
I installed Android to the internal 4GB SD card last night and it sucks. No data(Need APN settings or something?) The touchscreen was calibrated ok but the screen goes beserk(After a while, and then goes normal later) and starts moving left, right, or up/down and bleeding in from the other side, and then the calibration is totally screwed up. Sound seems to work, and I could MAKE a phonecall but when I called the phone it went to voicemail. I sent and received an SMS, but didn't receive the MMS i sent. So anyways I will just keep it for fun.
Now onto what I really want to do. HOW do I get a custom rom on there? I would like to install like... Fodd Sense or something but there are like 43432 different ROMS.(I want WM 6.5 + Sense(2.1 or 2.5))(Currently have Stock 6.1) Do I need something WITH a radio? I am so confused as I was reading and Fodd Sense doesn't have a Radio? I have read problems with changing to HardSPL or whatever for CDMA users?
I have much experience in iPhone Hacking(TriBoot Jailbroke OS, Android, Ubuntu) so nothing is too hard for me to accomplish. Someone please give me some advice as to the best route to go for a CDMA user.(Also please dont just reply with a link to another part of the forum(Unless it details what to do for SPRINT), I have read for days about different roms, and how to install all of this to your phone, but most of the information is too cryptic as to what exactly you need beforehand, and CDMA vs GSM) Remember this is the SPRINT version, never hacked, only updated from HTC website.
Have you tried this one?
http://www.neopeek.com/en/forum/Android-ROMs/191-CyanogenMod-6025-10-2010V11
Yes I actually followed the instructions and used that one. But the screen is whacko and I am going to have to delete it. No data connection either.
I got WM 6.5 onto my phone using the (1.11.00F? 1.00.11F?) one of those radios for SPRINT. I have tried many roms and none of them seem to get me a data connection.(I even tried one that was built for sprint, had an auto-activator dealio?) I would assume under connection settings I need to enter my PCS Vision username and password yes? Everytime I do I get error 60 or something about it being a wrong username and password or something.(I think its error 60) What do I do here? Is my username and password wrong or is there something special I need to do to get data running? I have even tried carrier cabs, although all they add is a new connection connecting to #777.

[Q] [Fixed] Help! Cannot Send SMS with any ROM!

Hey xda,
My Desire has stopped sending sms's since i installed MIUI-AU 1.6.10 - used many ROMS before but never had this issue.
The first time i switched to MIUI i followed the instruction to flash the corresponding *.DX.zip file before flashing the ROM [see their site] which i did, then flashed the rom - all seemed ok and since then every time i send an sms to any number, from contacts/manually typed or what have you it gives an error - 'message not sent'
Since then, ive switched to the updated MIUI-AU,MIUI 1.6.17 (running currently), RCMix..whatver is their latest build - and im sure the issue will come back with any other rom.
Now obviously following all instructions and all i must have skipped something that is causing this..
Before flashing miui 1.6.17 i wiped everything and my SD card is setup for A2sd with the right partitions and extentions
Im running a CM7 HBoot if that matters.
If anyone has a clue please let me know here - im happy to provide any more information...cheers
Fixed: Guys if you ever get into the Messaging settings>Advanced>SMS Message Centre..don't change the default number stored there - i just called up my provider (Telstra) and they gave me the correct number to use and now everything is back to normal
Did you try to get the settings from your provider? You could try to reset them if you have got an account for the internet portal of your provider. You could also try to call them.
I don't know if you need special settings for every provider, but you can try this.

Thanks for the reply - phones here in AUS will normally get the settings as soon as you insert the SIM card but because i had deliberately messed with the sms message centre number i had to ring them to get that...your post got me thinking what i had changed and it just made sense

How do I get my 3g and MMS working again on my S2?

I'm on an S2 SPH-D710. I installed CM10 about 3 months ago, and about 2 weeks ago my 3g and MMS stopped working.
Right now I'm running the cm-10-20121027-EXPERIMENTAL-d710-ProjectSilk rom that was recommended.
I researched the problem and I keep coming across people saying it's the APN settings. But either everyone figures it out and leaves just a "OK Fixed it" message or they don't reply at all.
How do I access my APN from CM10?
[FIX]
Ok so I will offer my fix to anyone having the same problem.
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Epic_4G_Touch/ROMs/S:D710.0.5S.EG30
Click the "Download-Full- One-Click" Link.
After it is done downloading turn off your phone. Then turn it on holding the power button and the volume down button.
Click Volume up to continue
The program you downloaded will need to be extraced which the EXE file does for you. Go to the Odin folder it created and run the program.
Plug your phone into your computer and wait for the program to say Added!
Then click start. This will factory reset your phone.
After it is all done you will boot into out of box state and possibly even get a network error code.
Go to settings/ about phone/ updates/ update system profile.
The phone will restart then BAM 3g and MMS working again.
Then reinstall your ROM. Basically updating the profile reset your APN settings which CM10 was unable to do.

Keep losing data connection and apn setting access

I picked up a Sprint prepaid HTC 816 recently and decided to flash this rom below
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][CM12.1][5.1.1][VirginMobileUS][A5][single sim][1/1/2016 security]
That one
It installed great, had everything everything working after I added my Sprint APN settings. The phone still displayed it as Virgin Mobile and only 3g seemed to be working. But I was making and receiving calls, text messages and had mobile data.
Fast forward a couple of hours, I installed a custom theme from the Play store, rebooted and ever since then I lost the ability to pickup a network signal and access my APN settings.
If I re-seat the sim and toggle airplane mode it will pickup a network signal and I can regain apn setting access again but it drops within minutes.
Ive reflashed the rom, wiped everything reflashed again, same thing. Any ideas on what has happened?
Thanks and appreciate your time!

Are these the APN codes you used(poster corrected a mistake in green text)? Looks like there is a different APN for prepaid /postpaid.
http://androidforums.com/threads/working-sprint-prepaid-apn-settings.920752/
I indeed use the apn settings in the green from that post. They were working fine until I had a reboot. Then everything went to ****. It wont even let me access the apn settings and when I can its briefly and then I lose signal and apn access.

I had an issue with something on my Virgin mobile 816 a5_chl a while back and a member @wxppro was very knowledgeable about APN settings and their intricacies. He had a MVNO 816 at the time with an APN issue and I bet he could help you with this as that was my best suggestion for a fix and it didn't help you.
See if you can direct him here to this forum so that if he can help out the info is here to help others as well. Good luck.
Not sure how much I can help. APN is a tricky business. If your APN settings disappear after some time, it is generally because the cellular network the phone connects to does not match the APN's MCC/MNC numbers. Or it could be the phone is in 3G mode (CDMA EvDo mode).
You can try these things:
Switch network types, from LTE to 3G, wait a minute, and then back to LTE. APNs do not show up in 3G mode. They only show up in LTE (or global) mode.
When you have the APNs show up, check the parameters are correct, you can do a "Restore to default" and then add the new one following that post.
Hope this helps.
I'm having a similar issue as well (except on virgin mobile)
A month ago I flashed squid's version of CM 13 on my phone and everything was fine for a few days, until I completely lost LTE and access to APNs. I reverted to stock and still was unable to get LTE, although I could get a shaky 3g connection if I changed the network mode to CDMA only. I called virgin mobile and they walked me through the troubleshooting steps and eventually determined it was a network outage (even though two desires in my house belonging to other family members had LTE). I called again after they verified that the network was working again and they were still unable to fix the issue.
Recently, a friend upgraded from a desire to a different phone on a different network, and gave me his old phone. I plugged in my sim card and activated this new phone and I got LTE. Figuring everything was good, I decided to flash squid's ROM once again. The same issue happened, I got LTE for a day or two until it cut out service again. No access to APNs, not even any service in stock or on the official build of CM12 with the APN fix (I can't access APNs there either). I'm out of ideas and would appreciate if anyone had any input on my issues.

I have this same phone a5_chl Virgin Mobile. Did you factory reset your device before flashing back to your stock rom? The other thing is and this is just my opinion not a statement of fact or a knock on the wonderful Bigsupersquid but that 13 CM ROM is nowhere close to being stable enough for me to risk flashing it to my daily driver phone. Just read all the posts and his candid responses. You were basically a beta tester .
I'm not an expert in APN's but if you can't get that fixed your last resort might have to be wiping your system and then flashing or running the executable RUU (rom utility upgrade) file found for our device on HTC/downloads . This is a last resort option and wiping your system will remove your existing firmware so have the correct RUU for your phone downloaded to your computer before attempting a wipe. If it's an exe, which I believe the U.S. Virgin Mobile one is ,you will hook up your phone fully charged in fastboot mode then from your computer run the exe RUU like any other exe executable program and wait. It will reformat all partitions and reinstall pure stock ROM. Hope someone else had an easier fix for your data issues and good luck.
EDIT: you will need your stock recovery flashed back and a relocked bootloader before flashing the RUU but I've read that some have flashed their RUU over a custom recovery with a locked bootloader and it wrote over the custom recovery with the stock recovery. I have never personally tried this just the first way I mentioned and that worked for me.

I did try factory resetting and I am on stock after flashing the RUU. It makes no sense as the RUU should have reset everything. That perplexes me the most

OK then you did get back to stock not from a nandroid backup but from flashing or running exe stock RUU? If that's the case then it replaced everything that might have been changed and your issues shouldn't be related to any APN changes. You also removed and reinserted your sim card as I believe, correct?
EDIT: that perplexes me as well my friend!

i posted about my lte issues i had for nearly two weeks, running stock just to verify the data service problem wasn't my rom...
i had to install stock recovery, relock bootloader, download the ruu.exe from htc and extract the .img file in Wine, then rename it onto the sdcard and reboot into hboot so it'd flash. neither Wine nor virtualbox xp talk correctly to any of my phones over usb. and i wasn't about to native install Windoze.
factory reset stock didn't fix it, even trying activation, update profile, etc.
i learned i could get 3g data but switching to lte instead of cdma shut down data entirely.
virgin eventually directly escalated me to tier 2 tech support in my last call, they sent a couple service programming pushes to the phone that got my lte back online.
i tried the various service programming menu options repeatedly, with no results but the prl updated once; but the trigger to fix my lte seemed to come from upstream.
i tried various apns, in cm12, cm13, and stock lollipop. rebuilt init_a5.cpp with different mccmnc and adjusted apns. i really tried most tricks in the book plus a few more.
as far as alpha testing goes, at this point I'm just sharing something cool... i always enjoyed flashing latest greatest on my ov way before i was building.
not too many actual logs to really bug report for either rom.

Some of that was over my head but happily not all of it. Basically what your saying is the fix needs to come from the carrier and it's a reset issue on their end not a custom rom issue? By the way I'm a big fan of your work. Hell I might be on one of your older ROMs right now I've flashed so many I forget. Thanks for the education.

It does sound a lot like a carrier/account issue as I managed to kill 2 different 816s. I don't think it's the SIM card itself because I put it into a 3rd phone and got LTE, although since it was someone else's phone, I didn' t bother activating it.
I guess you got lucky with support, I tried talking to them and they tried the same thing with me. Although all I got was excuses saying they're logging a ticket with their "network engineers" and to call back in a few days. This continued on for a few weeks until they determined I needed a new phone, which I was also bounced around for another few weeks (I still don't have it).
I'm just completely lost now. I'm almost certain it's my account and it needs to be reset, but I can't get a tech who can help me. How did you manage to get someone in tier 2?

This is starting to scare me as well because I'm thinking of going back to stock once Marshmallow gets pushed to our phone to get my beats drivers back and this is making me think twice. Sorry your having so much trouble.

i took radio logs before and after it worked, and worked only on 3g, and it looked to me like the sim card responded differently to the ril after things were running right again.
mine might've been a special case, though, it came from ebay with no sim, and virgin had to go to a little effort to get it programmed when i installed the sim initially.
they also claimed for several days that the local Sprint tower was down for lte service.

The first time it happened, I flashed back to stock using the RUU.exe. I tried again but the second time I took out the SIM card before running the program, I still can't get LTE.
How did you manage to get someone in tier 2?

tier 2 takes luck, time, many calls, and eventually you learn the answers to all the questions tier 1 outsourced from India asks so you can feed it to them so fast they want to shuffle you along. takes a couple of weeks to over a month to get to tier 2 and sometimes they have to be involved multiple times as well.
I've been dealing with virgin since 2009... replaced only two phones, eventually got the rest of the issues hammered out with persistence.
for a little while, twice, i had direct toll free numbers to American tier two even because my issues were so hard to solve. it didn't take too long for those numbers to be disconnected, though.
