Anyone know what the files for the soft keyboard? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I've loaded the HTC Asian WWE upgrade which is great, but the soft keyboard is CangJie, not English. I've searched the forum but everything refers to hardware keyboard changes. This might be a simple registry change or I might need some files from a European ROM?

How to get Samsung i780 Keyboard Qwerty to Azerty driver ?

Hello all,
i have read through a lot in the forum and have alerady flashed and tweaked a lot my i780 with my readings of your Forum. (after doing the same for my TyTNII !))
Bravo to all BTW.
I have a French i780 with an AZERTY keyboard.
I have flashed with the DXHC4 PDA & Phone ROM found here. Since then I have a QWERTY keyboard when the physical keyboard is AZERTY
I have tried the registry edition in order to modify the keyboard mapping to 040C code in the 3 locations described in the different posts without success as it rendres inactive the keyboard.
I tried the different combinations etc...
Here are the exact lines :
in hkey_current_user\keyboard layout\preload string default e0010409 changed to e001040c
\\\HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout\Active to 0000040c
Is there an issue with a dll or someting in addition ?
Also, I do use RealVGA in 96dpi with an English pack as the french pack is trashing the i780
Any idea is more than welcome !
Hello the i780 specialists ?
Any Idea what registry key to update ? or which driver ?
do you think a cab like the one for the Kayser can be compiled ?
Thanks
While youre on it, please get us the key for Swedish keyb as well
I flashed with the english ROM as well, and....
I am pretty sure there must be a way and it would be great to know the right registry location - would like to change mine over to QUERTZ as I am having an English rom with a German keyboard...
And ideas anyone?
Thanks
Alex
AE Keyboard Mapper
While we are waiting for better solution the buttons can be mapped to right letters wit AE Keyboard Mapper program. I've mapped my samsungs ä and ö buttons with that and they are working as they should.

Yes it work but i creates a very irritating keybaord lag when using the keys that is mapped with AE keyboardmapper.
Yep, I have seen this tutorial, but I must admit that I am not at all interested in the software emulation. I 'd rather wait for a proper OS / registry / hw solution
No news guys ???
First of all, I'm no export in this and want to apologize for my english, cause I'm german.
Me too wants to change the keyboard layout as I have an english rom with qwerty and want to get back my german qwertz-layout.
As far as I've found out there is an registry entry under "HKLM/Hardware/DEVICEMAP/KEYBD/DriverName" which with my device maps to a dll named "zylonite_keypad_us.dll"
This file seems to be located in the ROM. I couldn't copy it for editing. Maybe someone can develop an idea how to deal with this.

For now my keyboard does more, but I hope

Do you have an I780?
If yes, which of these mentioned steps did you do?
This is not yet working for me. At the Moment the hardware keyboard doesn't work at all...
Edit: So, keyboard is working again. But "z" and "y" are still "swapped". So still not the German- QWERTZ
Same here, ive got an azerty i780, but this tip does'nt work for me
It doesn't work at all
The keyboard is rendered NON active by modifiying these reg keys / strings ...

When I change the settings like that thread, my keyboard stopped working
I use the code: 041d for Swedish.
Mind helping out what I need to do? I followed the instructions from that page but the keyboard just stopped working, the hardware keyb that is.
In my humble opinion the problem is that when we change the registry keys we are telling windows to use a different dll that simply is not there, and so the keyboard becomes inactive. The solution is that someone with a German WM6 gets the german dll and shares it with us.

Luís
Before flashing my azerty orange fr i780, i saved HKLM sytem tree, and the dll is the same.
The only difference in HKLM tree is :
\\HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout\Active
040c for azerty french
0409 for US
But doesn't work on my device

Or a Swedish ROM since there are a few of us that would need the swedish dll then
I still got the German phone and intend to upgrade to UK ROM. What dll exactly do you guys need?
dll is : zylonite_keypad_Us.dll
But totalcommander refuses to copy the file

Do you have a registry editor on yout I780?
Then look at: HKLM/Hardware/DEVICEMAP/KEYBD/DriverName
There should be a .dll listed.
I guess thats the one we need. But I fear, as webise said, that you can't copy this file from your windows folder. As far as I've seen this file is in ROM.

changing t9 language

Hi there,
I'm running Tom's Oops Black-ROM on my Artemis, and I absolutely love it.
I just have one question, I'd like to change the T9 language to dutch. Is that even possible? I;ve searched this forum and Google, but all I found were some references to registry-keys that don't exist on my Artemis. I think it schould be possible, because some claim it was done, but I can't seem to find a forumpost or website that has a correct how-to for this.
I just want to change the T9-language. For the menu's etc WWE is just fine for me.
sms t9 language update .. go seach for a .cab files in forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299036
This is where i found the .cab a long time ago. Good luck

Question: Any 6.5 roms with complete keyboards?

I'm currently running Macadam 1.2, simply because it seems to be one of the few WWE roms around that has the "complete" eT9 and Keyboard collection (personally I want WWE because of the block recognizer, but I still want Norwegian eT9 and phone keypad, for when I'm not using the stylus).
However, my brief exposure to 6.5 (bsb) left me wanting more of that. 6.5 is simply faster and better looking, TF3D or not. The problem is that since ezinput was cooked in with only US keyboards, it cannot be simply updated with additional keyboards/eT9. It simply doesn't work.
So, this has sent me trawling through the threads here looking for a 6.5 build that either allows me to install keyboards/wordlists, or has what I need preinstalled. Only rom I've found so far to be close to pre-made for my taste, is 6.1-based (macadam).
Any of you seen any better solution?
//Svein
I do not fully understand your question, but I also tested bsb 6.5 Rom...
Now I have udk's 6.5 Rom and there are additional T9 languages included.
So "udK_Syrius_WM6.5_BETA2_WWE" contains the additional languages.
Ok, I'll try that.
Thanks for the help!
//Svein
Alas, the udK rom only contains the English, French, German, Greek, Italian and Spanish languages. So, close but no cigar.
//Svein
You're right! I'm sorry about this...
But when udk includes this additional languages it might be possible to install other languages or?
if i remember well i just deleted the language files so you just need to add the corresponding language file (.lbd) you want to \windows folder.
I upload you the ones that are inclued with the original 2.03 rom.
If you try, tell me if it works please

You remembered incorrectly.
(The files were already present)
However, enabling them in the registry (the keys were missing), and then selecting the correct language to type SMSes in, simply made the phone refuse to allow any input at all, so it seems something more is missing. Maybe it's just that something needs enabling, but I'm fumbling blindfolded here.

Let me know when you figure this out, Svein!

I think you can actually install the font file and German input if there is any.
Myself, for example, is using RRE's 6.5 Rom now, and I installed Chinese font and input. Those stuff works perfect.
sorry but i think you didnt understand me, i have a cooked rom from this page and i want to know as i can switch the language file from these roms (wwe) to a german language file.

I've been trying to install Chinese Fonts and input but ended up hard reset my Tilt2 a few times. Seems all the methods that I've tried messed up the key board. I've tried installing the CE Star and that still messed up the key board.
If your method is stable, would you please point me to the right direction?
do you guys think that changing the language in the "input menu" in advanced config can be successfull in my case --> for example, i've got an AZERTY keyboard (french unbranded rhod100) and i install a wwe rom, so in, english, but i want to be able to write an A by pressing A instead of seeing it put in a Q... dunno if anybody will my idea right, bad english sowwy guys!!?
so the rom stays in english but the input has to correspond to what's printed on my hardware keyboard :S

[Q] Hardware keyboard layout and RUUs

I've bought a not-rooted Desire Z from Germany which has a QWERTZ keyboard layout. I'd like to change this layout to QWERTY by software, but all posts I've read about that imply modifying some files in /system, which require rooting the phone (AFAIK).
I wonder if flashing a custom rom from a different region would change the layout to QWERTY. Is this possible? Does it have any drawback? (e.g. being excluded from OTAs)
Also, I've been unable to find an explanation of how to interpret the RUU names in shipped-roms.com. Could you please tell me where can I get some information? I have absolutely no idea on which file should I use.
Well, in the end I flashed a WWE rom and it didn't change the hardware keyboard at all.
This thread can be probably closed.
