I'm currently running Macadam 1.2, simply because it seems to be one of the few WWE roms around that has the "complete" eT9 and Keyboard collection (personally I want WWE because of the block recognizer, but I still want Norwegian eT9 and phone keypad, for when I'm not using the stylus).
However, my brief exposure to 6.5 (bsb) left me wanting more of that. 6.5 is simply faster and better looking, TF3D or not. The problem is that since ezinput was cooked in with only US keyboards, it cannot be simply updated with additional keyboards/eT9. It simply doesn't work.
So, this has sent me trawling through the threads here looking for a 6.5 build that either allows me to install keyboards/wordlists, or has what I need preinstalled. Only rom I've found so far to be close to pre-made for my taste, is 6.1-based (macadam).
Any of you seen any better solution?
//Svein
I do not fully understand your question, but I also tested bsb 6.5 Rom...
Now I have udk's 6.5 Rom and there are additional T9 languages included.
So "udK_Syrius_WM6.5_BETA2_WWE" contains the additional languages.
Ok, I'll try that.
Thanks for the help!
//Svein
Alas, the udK rom only contains the English, French, German, Greek, Italian and Spanish languages. So, close but no cigar.
//Svein
You're right! I'm sorry about this...
But when udk includes this additional languages it might be possible to install other languages or?
if i remember well i just deleted the language files so you just need to add the corresponding language file (.lbd) you want to \windows folder.
I upload you the ones that are inclued with the original 2.03 rom.
If you try, tell me if it works please

You remembered incorrectly.
(The files were already present)
However, enabling them in the registry (the keys were missing), and then selecting the correct language to type SMSes in, simply made the phone refuse to allow any input at all, so it seems something more is missing. Maybe it's just that something needs enabling, but I'm fumbling blindfolded here.

Let me know when you figure this out, Svein!

Hi vistar,
if the rom can be repackaged, meaning that bepe's or ervius' packagetools can repackage the rom into the sys- and oem-folders, you don't have to translate the majority of the files. The packages have folders with the language-dependent muis, and these are interchangeable with those from a different language. If you exchange the french languagefolders with those for _0409_xxx, a very big part of the work is done.
However, why don't you use Schaps' rom? It's available in WWE, and the installation of one of the cubes after flashing is not that much work.
Have fun!
Thanks Both, I will try Schaps' rom, hopefully it will work with the vista Cube, that looks amazing. As for the language change, i had the idea you had to change all 040C.MUI (french) Folders to 0409.MUI also all the enclosed Files (.txt and 04C.MUI). after i spent some time changing 3 files per 04C folder i found. i though you had to change all french words in the reg. HV files. then the Flash file last. This was my first time tho, gimme some credit for at least (hopefully) heading the right way for a noob.
Thanks Anyway.
Crosspost from the Q&A boards, cause nobody knows, or wants to answer :
Hiya.
I've been trying out some new ROMs for my Touch HD. Basicly I wanted to get rid of my Dutch language ROM, because I prefer English based OS'.
I tried several new ROMs, both Topaz & Rhodium versions (which are Manilla 3 I believe?).
Anyway, the ROMs themselves seem to work fine, but I'm missing 1 big thing in the WWE version: Dutch Word completion (and possibly Dutch T9, but that's less important).
I've tried several cabs, but none seem to work for me. The best I got was 1 that did add more Languages to the menu, but none actually worked, and this also broke my English Word completion
So, can anybody point me to a cab that makes Dutch Word Completion possible in WWE English?
Thanks,

i have this on mijn hd and i think it works
Unfortunately, this 1 also doesn't work Properly in Manilla 3.
Word Completion in ABC doesn't work, in XT9 it does work, but the keyboard layout is wrong. Also, the language Dutch isn't selectable in the menu (it does get turned on after install).
check, i am trying, misses 4 key's to complete

It can be solved in an easier way.
Search forum for: Dutch language WM6, and it will lead you here:

Download, install, soft reset and it should work.

Are you sure that is works for Rodium and Topaz roms?
I have downloaded the cab, installed it, soft reset it, but I still dont have dutch word completion and cant select it in the menu, What am I doing wrong?
The things i did: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=438313&highlight=dutch&page=165
Just edit the registry with TC or something similar:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9
- Add to AvailableLanguages 0113,
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\Sip\Language KeyboardIDMapping
- Add new string value: Name: 0113 Data: 0913
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\LdbFiles
- Add new string value: Name: 0113 Data: NLlsUN_xt9.ldb
-edit Whow! my first post since march 2007
i have already posted this in the miri wm6.5 thread, but i guess i'll share here too.found some time ago, but cannot remind where a cab which works. check out attachment! have fun!
I did a full install today of the official 6.1 rom to my i780, and as u might know u get to chose your language and keyboard setup, Swedish, norweigen, danish english and more.
i guess this has to be an "app" in the updatefiles taking care of this?
when i updatet my PDA to a cooked rom my layout changes on the soft and "hard" keyboard and as i have the Swdish keyboard layout i like åäö to work both soft and hard.
if it is possible to "take out" the app that "sets the langugae" in the original setup.exe should'nt we either be able to use it in cooked rom or get info of wjat changes has to be done to make my hard and soft keyboards work with other layouts than english?
I have searched but not find solution but alot of ppl has the same
I'm interested in this too.
Some one more into to this Rom building/cooking should be able to tell me if there is a chance of making this happen?
When i do a new installation of NORDIG official rom 6.1 i get to choose lagugae/layout for my phone, and a "formating" procedure runs and then resets the phone and my device is "swedish" as i see it this means in the updatefiles there is a app. that has all nordic and english "language packs" inkluded.
the "app" them makes all settings and uses dictonery and keyboard setup to my language, this means to med that it should be posible to add this "app" to a cooked rom? i knew there is alot of people here that wants this done.
I have searched and searched for the Norwegian language on my X1, keyboard and dictionary on the Norwegian, because I want to use the keyboard, we have extra letters as "æ" "ø" "å".
hope someone has found a solution, or can create one as soon as possible.
This is something that is very important to me in the job context.
regards
losty-1H
Hi Losty,
I assume that you have a Norwegian hardware keyboard in the first place.
- If you are using an non-Norwegian WM version then you will have to do a registry change to use æ,ø,å on the hardware keyboard.
Either use Total Commander (http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm) on your phone, or run an editor from your computer via ActiveSync, like the free CERegEditor (http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/).
Quote:
In the registry, navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD
Change the CurLan g value to match your language:
English: 409
Norwegian: 414
(Make sure you edit the value in hex)
- I don't think you can add the Norwegian dictionary to a non-Norwegian Windows Mobile version (anyone please correct me if i'm wrong) but you can still add words to the dictionary by typing them in as you go.
The original dictionary file is not known yet, and there are no editors avaliable either. I can't seem to find anyone who has successfully solved this issue.
The custom word dictionary file is \Windows\ "compimeh.0409.dat"
The custom dictionary in a Norwegian WM should be "compimeh.0414.dat"
I restored a copy of the "0414" from a Norwegian WM6.1 backup and replaced the original "0409" English one. I still get english word suggestions but at least my originally added words (from WM6.1 Norwegian) pops up now.
- Well if you want to set the WM language to Norwegian AND use a custom ROM, you are probably best off using something like itje's Touch-IT Xperience 21046.1.6.3 (Norwegian).
If not then you can set part of the OS (day naming, calendar, clock etc) to Norwegian by going to Settings->System->Regional Settings.
Cheers

I think you can actually install the font file and German input if there is any.
Myself, for example, is using RRE's 6.5 Rom now, and I installed Chinese font and input. Those stuff works perfect.
sorry but i think you didnt understand me, i have a cooked rom from this page and i want to know as i can switch the language file from these roms (wwe) to a german language file.

I've been trying to install Chinese Fonts and input but ended up hard reset my Tilt2 a few times. Seems all the methods that I've tried messed up the key board. I've tried installing the CE Star and that still messed up the key board.
If your method is stable, would you please point me to the right direction?
do you guys think that changing the language in the "input menu" in advanced config can be successfull in my case --> for example, i've got an AZERTY keyboard (french unbranded rhod100) and i install a wwe rom, so in, english, but i want to be able to write an A by pressing A instead of seeing it put in a Q... dunno if anybody will my idea right, bad english sowwy guys!!?
so the rom stays in english but the input has to correspond to what's printed on my hardware keyboard :S
