I love latitude by google but what I would like is something that actually records my routes. I often do deliveries and I need to know where i have been. Whats the best way. Do I need to splash the cash and buy some proper software?

Intersting article...looks like google has a beta for Android 2.0 with turn by turn navigation. Mentions this could get rolled out to other platforms as they are already working on an iphone option.
I just hope they include WM..I'm worried they may drop support for WM (see Google Voice app, or lack there of)

Very interesting!
yep, its on the way.hopefully also for us WM users. btw, tomtom stocks already dropt 16% since the anouncement
yeah I searched was about to post this
turn by turn would be awesome for wm, I hope they do it!
+1 for Google bringing it over to WinMo.
Please!

Yup, Garmin too from roughly $38 to $31 in last two days.
My only concern is if Google stops new development for WM such as Google Voice and now this.
Strategically it could make sense for them....eliminate the weakest link ...continue to support Blackberry and iPhone and try to replace WM to gain a greater footprint with Android be essentially stopping support/development for WM.

This echos my concern also. I hope we can get it for WM . . .
It doesn't work without cell service, that kinda kills it for me right there. We have several dead areas here in NorCal, and across the west, I'll stick with my CoPilot Live 8 thanks

I thought the article said that it would cache the maps for a given route. Though that does not help you if you need to change your route at all.
The way I look at this, is a much improved Sprint Navigator type program as they are both tied to the net, but provide more up to date information than standalone programs.
Kind of a trade off.

I would like to know if there are phone tracking apps for TP2
Google Maps (Latitude) can be used, but it isn't very covert, or real-time like second by second.

Yeah, there's some available. THIS is one of the several I've seen in the microsoft marketplace...I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like it might get the job done for you. HERE'S another one, looks a little more robust, available at handango.com.
Microsoft's MyPhone service also has a phone tracking ("recovery") option, but I think that's a pay add-on, not part of the free core service.

I did not click on your link, however, the Pandora app is pretty good. I no longer use it because I favor the TuneIn radio app, but for what Pandora does, it does quite well. Give it a try if you haven't already.
That doesn't surprise me at all. I've heard a ton of weird rumors about Pandora. Pandora also has an excessive amount of permissions, in my opinion. Shady stuff.

Very shady, I guess that's why they're in a law suit now. Stupid companies selling our personal data for money. I think android apps are notorious for this. MOST OF THEM
~ d3rk
Folks, it's not the app.
It's the ad networks that are used by the app.
I emailed back and forth with the CTO of DI Radio (DI.fm, SKY.fm) and it basically came down to that while DI Radio wasn't looking at my cell tower location, carrier name, and ESN, the ad network was to track me, but he said they wouldn't change their ads just because of that.
However, after this fiasco with Pandora... Maybe they will.
I should have been more specific about the link being from engadget. However thought it was an interesting story I would share. Makes me feel invaded. I don't want to feel paranoid.

You really should never feel safe over the air and on the internet. Even encrypted stuff is just a hacker away from being cracked. You do everything you do online, like paying bills, at a big risk. You are just lucky that most hackers don't want the $5 most people have in their bank accounts.
I really don't see an issue here. It's way overblown. It's the price you pay for an ad-supported app, and I think it's a small price.
So they want to know if I'm male or female? Yeah, I don't need to see Tampax ads.
They want to know my birthday? OK. I give that out at Chilli's to get a free order of nachos on my birthday. And I don't need to see Depends ads for another 40-50 years or so (I hope).
Location? Well, OK, I can see that this makes people a little uneasy, but if they want to send me a coupon when they see I'm near a strip club, I'm probably grateful to receive it.
I'm not saying people shouldn't think about these things. But I don't see how anyone could steal my identity with this information.

What can it do? I was going to activate it on Sprint, but its way too expensive. I decided to just get an HTC Maple on the SERO plan.
So what can this do? I have it controlling my music on the PC already, but I don't know what else I can do with it. So far I keep either this or my iPhone4 in my pocket for use as a:
Music player
Flashlight
Music switcher
Camera
Web Browser
Game player (rather Doodle Jump player)
Clock
What else should I make it do?
Isn't the maple a Windows mobile device? Geeze...
How about a paperweight?
What else would you need it do...? Short of controlling your car and printing money.
if you got a maple, why are you posting here? do you just have an unactivated evo?
The Maple is indeed WM. I hated the phone until I got my Droid stolen and was pleased by the battery life that it had, and I realized it I didn't hate it at all, I did prefer the older stupid-smartphone for various reasons, it works better as a phone to me anyways and I always preferred the keyboard to a touchscreen. I do have an unactivated Evo that I don't think I'll use for cellular service and I'd like to make the best of it. I realize that its like castrating the phone, but I really don't know what else to do with it. Is there a way to forward texts to it and reply from my Evo?
You could just give it to me and I'd make really good use of it.
I can't give it away, I already spent like 100 bucks on it fixing and stuff.
why did you buy this instead of the new itouch? why are you in the Evo forums without a real service providing Evo?
This is dumb
Because it was on sale? I bought it and an iPhone since they were bundled. Why are you so mad? Ignore me if you don't have anything useful to say.
The GPS should work. It's an expensive alternative to a TomTom, but you already have it.

Haha, I think I would have to convert a lot of videos!
Download CoPilot via WiFi and you can use that offline, just download the maps on to a SD card and you're golden!
I use CoPilot all the time during road trips and is awesome!
Also, not sure what area you're in but if you're in an area that has MetroPCS you can activate the EVO on their service. I know in Jacksonville, Florida they had this thing where they would charge you 10 dollars for flashing your phone over to MetroPCS as long as it had a clean ESN.
Man, I'm confused. Are you planning on using it for some of the things it's intended to do? Or are you planning on using a crappy WinMo phone?
Please upload the guide to make modded firmware jpkc1 or upload the modded firmware.
Thanks
no. instead go and buy the apps and give programmers' work respect!

Can you understand or even ask why he asked for sp**fed apps?!!!!
for me it is too simple
until now almost the whole middle east didn't get paid app service from samsung apps
Can you imagine how is bada look like right here?!!!!!
it is like weird platform used by idiots (excuse me for that word)who are so patient for it to be great
i don't support sp**fing but if samsung is not going to support our region then it should be done
Am i right?

Nope, spoofing apps in any case is a piracy, and it hurts bada and developers (who work hard to give us some apps) the most. You better write to Samsung and ask for opening paid version of Samsung Apps in your region instead of stealing someone's work. Therefore personally I give this topic -1.
love90, I understand your thoughts, but akuji is right: better make BIG trouble and write hundreds (or thousands) of e-mails and send them to samsung. also, form a group with a petition and go even bigger!
another thing: what is your problem? I can buy apps in ANY store everywhere of the world. if I do not like the apps in x, then I change the store to another country and buy them there. you can do this, too, I guess. ip faking is not even needed, I believe, but if it is needed, then just use one of million tools for that.
there is just NO reason to **** up the little programmers' base we have.
I don't have a Visa or Master card(should i hate myself for not having a one?!)
Also those damn cards for paying are not so popular right here
Another thing : i don't trust Samsung app to give them my card no. even if i have a one
I'd prefer using phone bill when it is available
E-mailed Samsung many times and they always say we are working on it and nothing happens
All my forums members did also so it is not about that
Samsung seems to be not interested in doing it
For my case i gathered important apps and added them to the firmware to use them until the paid service is out and i'll erase them and then buy them when they are available
1. I do rather not believe, you will erase apps later and buy them. Sorry, nobody is acting like that.
2. Now and for ALL TIMES: It is NOT Samsung's error, but the bad behaviour of PHONE CONTRACTORS, if P-Bill is not active in your country. You have to call your providers then and make trouble there.
3. You know, I thought you have NO possibility to buy apps, but now you are telling me it is just about the ****ing credit card? That is hilarious. So, you do not want to trust Samsung. Who else not? Flight companies? Amazon? Ebay? What do you want to do then with your credit card? Just sit and fart on it? =)
Seriously, there are 5000 prepaid credit card providers in the world which offer no further costs than aquiring the prepaid credit card. Every gas station even has them. So, you can buy your apps with those prepaid credit cards and have NO problem with your data, because those are anonymus.
Nowhere in the world there is a solid base/argument for spoofing apps ... and never forget, those app programmers usually are NOT big companies, but small groups or individuals (freelancers) with an age between 20 and 45 years. So, spoofers are really ****ing up someone's monthly income.

1. yes, that sucks. in Europe it does not, too, but therefore we have the hack. that is fine with me.
2. as I said, prepaid credit cards. that is working like a phone card. you can get/buy them everywhere for 10, 20, 50 or 100 €/$. gas stations, newspaper stores, ... everywhere. also, online, of course. with those you can buy apps in the samsung store. the best thing: they are anonymus. so, it does not even matter how old you are.
