Music Widget Switcher v1.2 - G1 Themes and Wallpapers

Hey again,
After working on my ClockWidgetSwitcher program for Windows, I decided to make one for the HTC Music Widgets.
MWS v1.2
MWS v1.2 Mirror
Confirmed working on:
CyanogenMod
PREREQUISITES:
Android USB drivers installed
HTC Music installed
HOW TO USE:
1. Connect G1 to computer via USB
2. Extract the files from the .zip
3. Run MusicWidgetSwitcher.exe
4. Everything after that is self-explainable!
Changelog and credits are all in app.
If any one wants the source code, just ask me, and I'll PM it to you.

Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Will this work on my phone?
No, it won't. This is only for Windows.

you would already have to have htc music working on your phone .. this just changes the HTCMusic.apk to a themed one

Sprint Hero here...
The widget runs fine, and opens music and plays and all that... but when you open the music player and click the left button to open your library... "Force Close" on the HTC Music app (not this widget).

ive never ran in on the hero but can you get an adb lolcat so i can try and see whats messing up (im thinking its because these are the cracked versions of HTCMusic.apk made to run on non-hero phones)

yea you're only supposed to use the ones in your sdk but i think if you have another one in the immediate folder that you're using, the program will use those instead of looking through you environment variables ...
alright i just ran the file from my computer and same thing it said "No Devices Found" ... so then i replaced adb.exe and AdbWinApi.dll with the newer ones from the sdk and ran the program again .. this time it found my device ... idk what else could be stopping it from reading it ... maybe try deleting adb.exe and the .dll file so it uses the one from your sdk directly?

Rip the .apk from a stock rom and then try and install it on the ROM you're using.
ok i'll try that. I'm not certain i know how so let me know if this process isn't correct...
Unzip the Rooted Stock 2.2 ROM
Search for carpanel.apk or somthing similar, then just move that to the sd card and install it.
Thanks. I'll let you know if this works!

Yup exactly...
For your convenience:
The HTC car panel
The other two are the google android car panel files (you need both)
I prefer the google one because it has a music button and works in landscape.
Let me know if I messed up and put the wrong files for any of them.
how exactly do you install that apk file after they are both on your sd card?

download astro file manager from the market.
This app allows you to browse files on your sd card.
Find those .apk files that you need to install.
and itll detect to install it once you launch them
***Side Note***
The first time you try to install an apk itll have a security/protection setting
Youll see what i mean when you attempt to open that file, itll ask you if you want to unblock ---> unblock by unchecking that box.
Thank you very much ! This was quite helpful my HTC desire.
Dude thanks! You rock! Seems that CoreDroid missed that element in their v8.1 ROM for HTC Inspire/Desire HD. I'll be trying this for sure.
Thanks for the links nhutpham, has helped out a family member who lost car panel due to the android 2.3.5 and sense 3.0 updates.
Likewise, my Amaze (2.3.4, Sense 3.0) simply didn't have an HTC Car Panel app. This is a little old, but works fine. Hopefully Sense 4.0 with the ICS update will come with the new car app I've seen demoed at MWC this week.

Sprint Football help plz

I had sprint football live running fine on cm6.1 since it was released, but all of a sudden today it borked out on me. Whenever I go to launch it, it will start and just close... it doesn't FC just acts liek I closed it.
I cleared data, rebooted and nothing. I just uninstalled it so I'm wondering if someone can post an apk that works for them.. or any additional info on this?
Same here. No idea why. I'm on the latest cm nightly and toasts .35 kernel.

Did you ever install the cm6.1 rc ? Did it work for you then? Mine did, just all of a sudden borked. I wonder if sprint done some kind of update or something.
Yeah it worked on 6.1 rc1 and today is the first time it hasn't. I wouldn't think cm has changed something that prevents it from working. Probably on sprint's side. Should get sorted out ASAP I think.

Threw me for a loop too! They updated Sprint NFL. New version is 2.2.44. Feel free to use this one I modded. Just adb push it to /system/app. It's dark transparent with white text...enjoy!
EDIT: Only modded the widget, I should have been more clear on that!

Would someone mind giving a quick rundown on how I would push thatapk through ADB? I deleted the old apk off my phone and put the one from this thread on my SD card... but I'm not sure what to do next =x
Thanks Guys =)

yea or adb push /place-where-file-is /system/app/ ex. adb push ~/Downloads/sprint-football-**** /system/app/
im on xbox 360. Tuesday its black ops all day in this *****....
OK I opened the cmd, got the phone on debugging
Opened the sdk and typed adb shell sysrw then tried to push it by typing what you told me and it isn't working.
It is spamming me with a command list..
I have the apk on my adcard and I moved it to my sdk/tools folder so I'm not sure whats happening =\
well it would be something like
adb push sdk/tools/sprint-football.apk /system/app/
lol thanks anyway, I can never get adb crap to work right for me!
Good luck on black OPS

Running cm6.1
Honestly, I don't know.. I haven't done anything with ADB aside from rooting my phone. I know what directory it's in on my computer so I can open up the sdk/toosl in my command prompt.
Other than that, I don't know jack... I plugged my phone in, didn't mount it..had debugging on and tried to push it from my tools folder but I know I'm doing something wrong.
I did google it and tried a bunch of different things.. but I just can't get it.. I keep getting "not found" whenever I type adb push or anything like that

[Q] xdandroid frx 07 automatic restart

i have overclock my tp2 to 750MHz.
i found my phone will automatic restart and it will run in window after the restart. this happened quite frequently.
did anyone face the same problem as mine? how to solve it?
thanks in advance....
Don't overclock so much. 750 is really high.
Rebooting from Android will bring you back to WinMo.
is overclock too much the root cause of automatic restart problem ?
at least it happened twice a day....
what is the optimum value i should overclock? thanks

Every phone is different. Mine got unstable over 710.
There's many reasons for rebooting tho. Without logs, I would just be randomly guessing.

Not saying much more than arrrghhh, but the best/easiest thing to do would be just to remove the OC and run the phone. If it stops automatically restarting than the OC was the issue. The rule of thumb with the Rhodium is that anything over 700 is probably too much.

What are you using to browse the files? You need to either be doing it in Android (I use ES File Explorer) or use Droid Explorer for Windows.

is it possible that this auto restart problem is due to rom in critical level? i hv install quite a lot of apps....

I guess it could be a misbehaving app.
More likely culprit is bad SD card, or some other environmental problem.

Rooted phone.. can I still develop app?

For my final year project I'm creating an Android app. As i'm sure most of you are aware the Android emulator is incredibly slow and so I want to run the app on my phone instead each time. I know you can do this usually but as my phone is rooted and running a ROM (that isn't stock), it doesn't give me the option to run on the phone when I run the project (I know you can usually do this because my friends unrooted phone works fine). Is there anyway I can get my rooted phone to work or will I have to revert to stock?
Many thanks
You might be better off in another non device specific forum.
But in general, yes, it can. The only thing a stock ROM can do that a custom one can't is consume more resources, battery, and space than necessary.
Do you mean to install an app? Just tap on the .apk file on a file manager or something and it should let you install.
Go into developer options and click whatever needs to be checked. If you run adb devices and it shows up, you should be able to install it on your device. If you are using eclipse the option should show when you try to run the program.

No, I mean just running the app like I would through the emulator without installing the .apk file on the phone.

When I adb devices it wasn't showing anything so I downloaded PdaNet and this re-installed the correct drivers for my phone. It now works :victory:
You cannot run an app without installing it ..
when u use the emulator on pc and and connect your phone via datacable to run your app on it , the emulator actually installs that app in your phone and then run it ! most probably u r not confused with this ...

[Q] Installed 4.1.2 ROM Music Now Won't Play

Complete Edit: Problem is that since I flashed my phone with AOPK's rom and that music and videos will not play. The speaker by the ear will not work during calls and the headphones aren't registering properly (maybe with the headphones). I remember when I opened doubletwist and I got a message that went along the lines of that this is a custom rom and it was missing apis (I forget if that was it or not, I might have gotten it wrong) necessary to run some apps. And I'm thinking that is the real issue.
I have tried a lot of things, please take a look through the thread to see what I've already tried and didn't work.
I'm thinking I need to flash it with a different rom OR would really like it that if someone else who has the normal HTC One V software that isn't customized or anything, if they could leave a Clockwork backup file here so I can get my phone back to what it once was.
Try a full format of the sdcard from the pc or lappy.backup all the contents and format it(the full format, not the quick one)..

Try clearing the media storage as said above.
Move any one music file to internal memory, and then see if it plays.
Maybe because its not able to read the music from the sd

It said that it couldn't copy it to that area. I've already done a factory reset and the rom, I'm a bit wary of doing that but it might be an option.

Ok,try using root explorer, copy the music file, mount system as read/write and go to mnt/emmc and see if it copies there.
