i have overclock my tp2 to 750MHz.
i found my phone will automatic restart and it will run in window after the restart. this happened quite frequently.
did anyone face the same problem as mine? how to solve it?
thanks in advance....
Don't overclock so much. 750 is really high.
Rebooting from Android will bring you back to WinMo.
is overclock too much the root cause of automatic restart problem ?
at least it happened twice a day....
what is the optimum value i should overclock? thanks

Every phone is different. Mine got unstable over 710.
There's many reasons for rebooting tho. Without logs, I would just be randomly guessing.

Not saying much more than arrrghhh, but the best/easiest thing to do would be just to remove the OC and run the phone. If it stops automatically restarting than the OC was the issue. The rule of thumb with the Rhodium is that anything over 700 is probably too much.

What are you using to browse the files? You need to either be doing it in Android (I use ES File Explorer) or use Droid Explorer for Windows.

is it possible that this auto restart problem is due to rom in critical level? i hv install quite a lot of apps....

I guess it could be a misbehaving app.
More likely culprit is bad SD card, or some other environmental problem.

I have the option checked to install non market apps, but if I download wifi tether, for instance, from the dev's website, my phone will not even let me click on "install," though I can hit "cancel." I've tried this with a free other apks, such a Swype, volume+, etc. Some allow me to hit install and some do not.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions? Btw, rooted gnex, stock 4.0.2, vzw.

First, I want to thank you for posting your question in the appropriate place. By chance, are you running JuiceDefender? If so, there is a bug that sometimes does not allow a user to install non-market applications without a workaround (you will find it in settings when configuring JuiceDefender). If you're not running JuiceDefender, then I am not sure, sorry .
bennettm89 said:

I'm not. And since my original post, while my phone was laying on the couch, something changed and now I'm able to install those apks I've downloaded. Someone at AndroidForums suggested I side-load apks from my computer, but my only means of wifi is from my phone and wifi-tether was one of those apks that wouldn't install, until just an hour ago. I've had this issue rooted, unrooted, 4.0.1, 4.0.2, and it seems to come and go.
It seems no one else is posting about it anywhere that I can find, so if nothing else I wanted others to know that it is happening.

I don't know the cause. I have noticed that it has happened on different devices, there have been assumptions if it's because of a specific kernel or rom, although it may be, I beg to differ. I feel it is happening during the Android Upgrading Apps # of # process.
I noticed that this error pops up on most of the apps that I had installed, but are not there after my update. So far with me, it happened only to my paid apps, but not all of them.
When the app disappears, android thinks it's missing, but some files think it is still installed.
Regularly when you install an app over itself, there is a notice telling you that the application info will remain. That's where the problem lies once an app mysteriously disappears. Because part of it is still installed.
Go to
/data/data/
and search for your
com.application-address.whatever-it-may-be
Some of them you can tell what they are just by the names, the others, google-em.
If you wish to keep the information that it contains for the app, I recommend making a copy of it first.:good:
Delete it
Install the application, it'll work, trust me. :fingers-crossed:
Now replace it with your copy.
Done.
Stop factoring resetting if you don't want to. Of course, if you have a lot missing, it might be better. :crying:
If someone can automate this process by making something check the com.address to installed apps, that would be awesome. :highfive:
This totally worked. Thanks bro!
I was setting up my Nexus 4, and this was Tune In Radio Pro was the last app and wouldn't install, I kept getting that stupid -24 error.
Saved me from doing a factory reset!
Works!

I'm also stuck. I was able to go to sdcard/data, but there is no second /data folder.
I have this issue with Swiftkey and there is no 'data/data/' folder, checked both root and sdcard and hidden files are shown ...
Edit: Configured ES File Explorer to mount partition as writable and gave root access -> files were there now and deleting the one with Swiftkey solved my problem.
Thx

Anyone one you know anything about android..!?!?!?!
U need to root first...!!!
Worked for me as well.
You need to use something like ES File Browser with Root access to get to /Data/Data
I'm running into this issue with a bunch of apps that got lost when flashing a newer CM10.1 nightly. I can't access those folders in data/data since ES File Manager is one of the apps that gets this error!
Is there any other way to fix this? I can't install anything, not even Chrome :crying:
It's worked for me, too!
Someone maybe didn't understand the meaning of the thread creater. You must have the root access. Then, open Root Explore and go to "data/data" NOT "sdcard/data/data"

In case it might help someone else I thought I'd pass along what I just did to fix the problem. I booted into recovery and found the com.speed.... file for root explorer that way and deleted it and then rebooted. I then was able to load and install root explorer from the play store and now I can sit back and delete all the rest of the apps that won't install correctly...
I guess I could have done it from recovery also but I forgot to write them all down before I rebooted!

Worked Like a Charm Thank you for you help
can't find data
used es file explorer with root access can't find data/data
hello
first of all I did search, but couldn't find anything that would help, sorry if I didn't search well enough
for the past few days, everytime I turned my phone off or it died on me, after turning it back on, the browser would disappear. id click on a saved bookmark on my homescreen and it would say "application not installed". usually I just go to my titanium backup and restore it. but today I went to restore it, and it wont restore. the TB app just stays stuck saying "restoring app+data". I tried changing the app processing preference, but still the same. TB had also been doing this with the google play store(not the new 4, haven't gotten that yet), but usually if I just turned the phone off even while it was still stuck on restoring, when back on the play store would now be installed. Not so with the browser
is there any way I can get this to work? and if not, can someone please help me get the latest stock browser apk for the gnex gsm? I think its version 4.2.2-573038
Thanks!!
btw, im on rooted 4.2.2 but no custom roms, just "stock" root

a little bit of both lol. Really though I did search, primarily for a solution to the TB problem not so much the apk.
Thanks for the link though!
Do you know why TB might be doing this though?
As for Chrome, in my experience its complete crap compared to the stock browser. if at least they had transferred over the quick buttons it'd be better, but they didn't even do that
EDIT: ok that didn't work. after clicking install says app not installed
I understand, I don't like Chrome either xP
Hopefully that works.

Take that apk, put it in system/app/, change permissions to match all the others in there and reboot. Delete the original one in that folder first if you like, otherwise, just overwrite it. I use root explorer to do this sort of stuff but I'm sure others can do it too.

Hello,
Could someone please help me to stop service - com.sonyericsson.android.wakeup ?
This particular service is giving close to 1000 wake calls in very less time.
my phone is with stock rom & i have rooted it. I have read in one of the blog to delete "fast dormancy.apk" file. even though i delete that file, i can still see that service is wake calls to my phone.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.

Don't look for it in Backup & Restore. Go to Batch actions - All, scroll down to Un-install, press RUN where it says : Un-install all user and system apps, press DESELECT ALL, then search for that file, select only that file, and unistall it.

Actually using root explorer i removed those files from system/app. But still i was getting wake locks from that service when i saw in better battery stats application. thats why i started this post to know how to stop it totally.
Since here one person suggested to use titanium backup to freeze or delete it, i relocated those apk file again to system/app, now it seems that service is totally missing.. making me crazy!!!

Yes, do a repair, and after that if you still want to delete com.sonyericsson.android.wakeup, do it and don't restore it again. And you'll be fine.

Hello, somebody knows if there is way to change how the camera creates the files names??
Ex: It begins with DSC_0001, DSC_0002 and goes on... but when I cut those files to my HD, the counting start over again, DSC_0001 etc etc...
The solution for now is, everytime when I want to clear my phone I have to create a new folder and use some sw on windows to rename the pics/videos by date/time.
On my SII the files are naturally named by date/time, so easy and have no chance to overwrite the old files by accident.
Really, it sucks...

True... I guess it's a Sony problem, I didn't see other droids (sammy,lg moto etc etc..) doing that.
The only way to preserve the files from overwriting is to use another sw on pc to rename using the EXlF data (date/time).
PS: I'm using an sw called "Ant Renamer", very usefull.
Blow me Sony...
