Teamspeak client 4 PPC/Blackstone ? - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hio!
I am real very much it surprises 4 WM6.? no Teamspeak2 client gives.
Since how it also differently had to go his 4 iPhone there is this of course.
I hope I am wrong informed there and u persuade me of the opposite.

So, is there anyone, who knows something about a windows mobile application client for teamspeak2?

Now some time has passed again and I can put the question simply once more:

Why is 'our' Facebook app. so behind the iPhone Facebook app.?

Anyone got any ideas?
The iPhone Facebook app. is quick, slick, easy to use.
The one we've got is slow, jumpy, and just not as good in general!
You'd think by now SOMEBODY would have created atleast a mimic.
I got nothing to add except to say, yeah our app is crud.
I don't disagree that the Microsoft developed facebook app is behind the others. That said Opera loads facebook just fine, and it's the full site.
Then again I'll never understand the point of having dozens of apps that accomplish the same thing as loading up the already installed web browser and a bookmark.
I use the mobile Facebook pages at m.facebook.com via Opera 10, you can even choose between regular mobile and touch interface. It works for me!
Probably because the rest of the world buys into the hype put out by Apple.
It's like John Dillinger said when asked why he robbed banks...Because that is where the money is. Right or wrong, there are a TON of iPhones out there, and developers spend their time where "the money is".
I didn't buy into the iphone, simply because I've grown up with the WindowsCE
platform since the Dell Axim X5 days, so it was a natural transition to the Windows Moble/phone platform. That, and I want to customize the interface and functions the way I WANT TO, not how Steve Jobs says.
ditto man, I feel about the same.

I can tell you this, the app for WM phones is way awesome. It has the same functionality as the iPhone app and the online browsers too. I think it runs smooth, updates quickly, and isn't loaded down with settings. Most of those settings for the other pages is just a bit of overkill. It's always true that the simpler the plan, the better the plan. You can always add to something if you need just a simple extra. You'll just have to write xml codes, if you don't know how and ur a bright person, you can probably figure out how to change those codes to add what you want or remove what you don't want, in a matter of days.
Plus, knowledge is power, I started out in this group just downloading and installing cabs. Now I write my own and have written weather apps alongside NRG that apparently have been stolen by HTC and WM6.xxx. The nifty weather on your screen that's flashy and self updating with a forecast and pretty icons for the weather conditions was 1st integrated by NRG, then Showaco and I kicked it up a knotch and finally duked it out with NRG only to realize that we were both making the same app, everyone and their brother jumped on the bandwagon so much that Microsoft and HTC "took" the ideas and integrated it into their ROM's. No worries, though, that's what this process is all about, learning how to create what is not already available
So, my advice in closing is to spend some time learning how to read xml, and then changing small bits, running the app, and seeing if it loads and does what you want, then slowly bit by bit, you will have an app that is PERFECT for your needs. It my seem impossible at 1st, but where there is a will there is a way, plus, hell you might end up writing something people will pay for or maybe HTC or Microsoft might offer u money for. Give it a shot.

I agree the app is rubbish, it's main problem is the speed. It spends way too long doing tasks that don't require much data transfer, and dosen't have a progress bar of any kind to explain it's slowness.
I don't like using opera because you have to log in every time and it has no integration with the rest of the system. Not to mention lack of fb chat. I'm not an iphone fanboy (TP2 ) but the iphone facebook is way better.

Why WP7 should have the upper hand over Android and Iphone.

So I just switched from my old but faithful Razr2 to a Samsung moment, and this is my first time owning an Andoid device.
The platform is definitely very entertaining with all of its apps... but in the end that's all it really has, APPS (same with the iphone).
The reality is that WP7 brings a whole new layer to the smartphone category, and that is Microsoft office. Why shouldn't I be able to do my work off the couch? All I can do with my Moment is have fun and maybe exchange some e-mails,but it does not have any business functionality which is what will make WP7 special. Once Microsoft is able to develop its APP store, it will have the best of both worlds, Business and Entertainment, which is somethinmg neither Apple or Google has at the moment.
I agree.
It must also be mentioned that MS platforms have always gotten done games right. This thing is already shaping up to give the PSP a run for it's money.
You're not using the right apps then. Or you're in a strange line of work.

Android has no business functionability ?
Give me a break ! I've been a windows mobile user over 10 years and all I got was breaking my nerves and endless waits for basic functionability !!! I can do miracles blazing fast with android and I am never going back to windows platform again. I guess u didn't 'play' with Android enough.
My office is always in my pocket and syncs with my Linux laptop and windows desktop over the air perfectly and on an instant. And guess what ? I never need to reboot my android phone! Neither I wait 5 secs for the phone panel to come up whenever I want to dial. I had so many windows mobile devices (first was Jornada 720 in 1997 and last was HTC touch pro). All were crawling and I could do far less from what I can do with my Android phone.

Run Zune software on a corporate PC to sync your phone. I don't think so.
You're describing WM6.5, and hopefully WP8, but not WP7.

Idocuments to go, and open office do the exact same thing as office mobile.

Well a lot of companies have allowed iTunes so that people can use iPhones so they will work out a way to use the Zune software.
Why would you need the Zune software? You can use exchange to sync and then sharepoint to share documents.

That I'm limited to email and Sharepoint to get files on my phone though is a bummer.
Right now, you wouldn't really need the Zune client on your work PC as the only syncing that Zune does is media. If you do somehow have a 4GB ppt file (I dunno if WP7 would even support opening it) you'd be best off hopping on WiFi and grabbing it from sharepoint or something. I would really question any scenario where a 4GB ppt file would exist and even then, why you would need it on your phone.

Really hoping they have Office Web Apps/SkyDrive.
Doing something wrong? Embedding and linking files is wrong?
I and a lot of other people actually use all the features of Powerpoint. Including but not limited to adding our own videos, adding an entire website, music files, intro's, etc,etc...all laid out perfectly on slides that make a point.
WM open these files with ease, a lot files just didn't play in the pp on the mobile version though.

That would be great but that scenario isn't supported. There is a workaround though - you can download files from web in IE as far as I know, and thus can have a web server set up on your PC that will let you transfer files directly, or upload them to Skydrive and then download "manually" from there. But that would be a pain for 4GB files anyway.

I don't like not having the USB storage functionality either. One of the things that irks me about the direction of wp7. Unlike multitasking and c&p, I don't think this one is coming unless there's alot of fuss about it (which I doubt is going to happen from the general consumer).
But it does seem very odd to have a 4gb presentation. You're supposed to be using the slides as a visual guide not some kind of data storage. Why would you embed the video into the presentation rather than just being a link? And why would you need to transfer some big video to the phone if you're just working on the ppt?
For remote control presentation. Plus I don't have to look at the presentation screen.
Click to play or play at entrance is much better than a simple link. It follows suit with the entire presentation. This is just my opinion though.

Using Windows 6.5 (and previous versions...) as evidence of how "terrible" WP7 is going to be is not really a logical way of thinking... Of course the new OS is going to have some similarities to the old versions but the smoothness with which the WP7 OS runs can't be compared to Windows mobile 6.5. Also, to awechris, I really don't see how syncing your cellphone to your Linux laptop makes it a "great" business phone. Do you know about some obscure android office package that I don't know about? Because to me a business phone in the modern world without access to some sort of Word, Powerpoint, and Excel application, is not a businessphone at all. I want to be able to write a report while sitting on the beach (with a physical keyboard), and that is something that WP7 will be able to offer me in the near future.

Where the hell is windows live messenger???

You would think Microsoft would create this application as a priority. Jesus, even my blackberry has WINDOWS LIVE!
What the hell!
Yes that was quite puzzling.
I would have thought that it would be on there before it launched.
I'll laugh if AOL sticks an AIM client on the marketplace before Microsoft gets an MSN Messenger client up there. It's boneheaded moves like this that have defined Microsoft lately and it's why they went from almost owning the smartphone market to being in a position where they may never be able to catch up.
Did ya'll look on the marketplace??? There is a live messenger there. The company that made isn't microsoft but they got paid by ms to do the app and it's the official messenger app...

TRUST ME IF THAT POS APP WAS REMOTELY PRACTICAL I WOULD HAVE USED IT.
Pretty much the "in and out" phone is just keeping me out from using my phone! Seriously this OS has immense potential but the launch was seriously half-assed, I would have been happier if they had delayed the launch window to early next year.
This is going to give a bad impression to many early adopters, let's not forget the issues with supply.

I don't know...I've played with the phones now quite a bit and really like the polish and features...yes, there are some glaring features missing but they will be added. I was told at an MS kickoff meeting earlier this week that they are going to have a ton of updates starting in January...they kept saying they are betting the farm on this so we'll see...
I would agree on the marketing front however...I don't understand how they can do such a good job with xbox360 marketing and do such a half assed attempt with the wp7 which is arguably more important to them in the long term.
They must be working on a native WLM. They make one for iPhone and Blackberry. They have produced a version for 3 on Android, which a third party coded.
It plugs into Yahoo Messenger too. Plus WLM now talks to Facebook Chat. They are rolling out that feature as we speak. But only a few people have it right now.
Maybe they will release WLM at CES. I can imagine Ballmer and Zuckerberg make an announcment together. Or at Mobile World Congress at the latest.
Maybe they were waiting for Microsoft Lync, which is apparently coming to Windows Phone in 2011. I just hope that, whatever it is, its a native app and ideally integrated into the OS.
Was just doing some reading about Microsoft Lync, sounds perfect...

There's no need to be like that when evidently you haven't read all the posts. We know there's a messenger but it's not an official one and as such it doesn't do the job for the OP and others.
But it wont get more official. I read somewhere that the company that made the current wlm was paid by ms to code the app as an official one.
I'm pretty sure though that it will get updated with more features. The current version certainly lacks some features compared to the ios version.
ps: here is the link to the article
http://www.liveside.net/2010/10/14/whos-building-the-official-messenger-app-for-wp7-not-microsoft/
Microsoft has often asked other developers to make app for them like the facebook one on winmo 6.5 but they would always mark it as an official MS app, so if that company is in charge I'm sure it would be a different version without their name on it.
That aside, I can't see Microsoft developing a WLM app for Zune HD and an awesome one for the iPhone and then not make one for their own platform. Doesn't make any sense.
Pretty sure we will see something soon enough that surpasses the cheesy app that is out now.
Why the hell would MS pay somebody to make the messenger and not provide them with the ability to have it run in the background?
I have read the same articles, and it smells rather off to me.
Personally, i cant wait for a better one. (or the existing one to get out of pre-alpha phase, coz that's how bad it is)
what dont you guys get? the official app is the one on the market. microsoft just paid another company to make it.

"Messenger by Miyowa"? What don't we get? Well, for starters, how you managed to use it to message anyone. That thing is rubbish, I can't imagine Microsoft let anyone put that thing out in their name and, last I checked which was about 45 seconds ago it was the only IM app in the marketplace.
The app doesn't have to run in the background. Beejive and IM+ for iPhone worked quite well before iPhone supported background operation and it worked via push notification. I think they both support background execution now but why bother when push works so well? That's memory freed up to use for something else.
Finally, a really half-assed solution that works is the SMS / IM interface most carriers provide. Some only do AIM but some cover them all. Do a google search for your carrier. AT&T, for example, uses SMS numbers starting with 265000 to log in and so on. If you're really that hard up for IM it's better than nothing, but just barely.
People are funny in this world.
In theory this OS is a platform for the community to build on.
Too bad the community is a mob with pitchforks.
Who in their right mind will develop anything when the populous will undoubtedly attack their creation?
Microsoft can't fix people. Why does anyone need messenger when all they do is hate on everything new?
I read that news about this third party company and I have a strong feeling that it's false. There is no way, that MS which created official messenger app for every other platform would outsource something so native to an unknown third party company for the windows OS!
I have a feeling that was a fake news spread by that third party company.

I wouldn't want my data in someone elses hands. better to fully backup the phone, wipe, let the friend use it, and restore later imho.
moving the phones restore image off to a computer is a good idea too.
15. More "open" OS for 3rd Party Apps (like install a ".cab" in WM6.5)
16. Custom Ringtone, no need to "developer unlocked and then install XAP..."
17. An Official Windows Phone Device Center, like Windows Mobile Device Center for WM6.5. Sync to Office, Outlook...

20. Better build-in Facebook (Not Facebook Apps), notifications, images, video, view post... all from People Hub ( i found the Facebook Apps is kind of annoying if you don't have 3G and have to use EGPRS...)
21. Hopefully, Microsoft will let HTC build their custom Windows Phone 7 version, or modifield deep down inside the "Cores" of Windows Phone 7, so we can get something like a HTC Sense for WP7, or HTC Sense Metro-UI Style.
22. Support better Multi-Tasking
23. Upgrade Security Level for WP7 if possible ( i thought about this when i read the thread of somebody here lost his HD7 and found out that he could not find his phone or lock it Through Live because everything based on the Simcard Inside)

And so what? From current WP7 politics it looks like WP7 is NOT a important product for microsoft, so why should the bother about few customers. They are always selling only promises, and people are buying them, not a real functionality in software.

Troll much?
Microsoft understand about the "Smartphone" Cake. People now are relying more and more on their smartphone. They don't have time to wait for the full battery of the laptop or they don't have the strength of the Olympic Athletic to carry it everyday and run around. ( except for Sony Vaio Bussiness Series, but compare to a smartphone, they are still damn more expensive)?
They know how to listen to their customer, biggest example i can tell is Windows 7 (PC OS). Now they are doing good with Windows Phone 7. Even Windows Phone 7 is a new OS, i still feel good with it. Because it deploy and provide everything i need in my daylife. There are few to some lacks of feature or bug, but you need to learn how to accept and live with it, since Windows Phone is new and mistake is not avoid-able.
Windows Phone are having a great chance in Smartphone Market, since iOS is boring and no change between version and version. Android is getting heavier and heavier... ( don't be mad, but i had changed my HD7 for my friend's Desire HD. Android is fun to play around with, but the only thing i found it usefull, not by Android itself, but because of the HTC Sense. After 2 days of using, i could not wait for my HD7 back).
NO matter what you say, i do believe in Microsoft in this Project, and i do belive that Windows Phone will not let iOS and Android walk that easy. The problem that Microsoft need to solve is their estimate time of product realeasing... they delayed No-Do and that made me felt like crap.

Do you mean MS has started WP7 8 months ago, or it is 8 months on market? I can understand that this system is 8 months on market, so there is no good "navigation" software with offline maps, but microsoft has much more time to prepare its product. WM6.5 has been developed from original windows CE which was started aprox. 1997, so it tooks more then 10 years of "evolution" to get this OS functional and nice looking. Now WP7 is similar to Windows CE 2.0, it has "small version" of Word, Excel some applications made by hobbiest, and GUI which is so "creative" like Windows CE was in 1997. Only difference is faster and bigger hardware.

And if you compare WP7 phone to non-smartphone from 2005 it is fantastic. But today is 2011 and if you want to sell product you must compare it to competitors. WP7 was designed to be new trend in technology and showing future of this market and beeing revolutionary. Currently some non-smartphone phone has better functionality.

I think this example should be understood different way. Microsoft has developed Windows 95 from a scratch, people were disapointed because there were problems with compatibility, but got used to this OS. Then were windows XP which brought more new technology, there were many problems but people accepted this OS. Then was few years without new OS and had appeared Windows Vista. It was criticized for many problems, and avoided in many areas. Now we have nice, quite stable Windows 7 which based on Vista. IMHO WP7 is still in "Vista" stage, maybe Mango will fix this, but I believe 2-3 updates which will bring so many changes as Mango will make this system like windows 7.

Sure if microsoft were founded 3 years ago, this mistakes can be forgiven. Nodo is a small part of functionality that was promissed.

Nokia is a different story, this company had lost so many chances. They had good quality phones, own OS (Symbian), they wanted to develop QT and now they are on the verge of bankruptcy. Why MS gave them money? I do not know, probably MS want to earn more money.

[Q]Cuttherope.ie as app for WP7?

hi,
Is it possible to make an app which plays cut the rope from the website like a facebook website shortcut with new interface?
sorry for my bad english it is not my favourite language
I'm shocked that this game is not available for wp7 yet..... So they use IE9 but, no WP7 ?
Still a fun game to play in IE9...
Yes, i heard of that game a while ago and since 2 weeks i got to know it better on Windows 8 and now i want to play it on my windows phone without IE
There are some people who take the facebook mobile page an make a new interface for that with other buttons...
So someone could take the cuttherope.ie website and give it an app-like interface so we could "cut" the rope an not click ^^
Yea, I played through the IE 9 version (got to the end, I want more). So even making the IE9 version into a WP7 program does not give you access to the full game.
I suggest that everyone who has WP7 email the dev and ask for them to make the game for WP7, their support email is support @ zeptolab DOT com (I want them to make a game for us, not give them tons of spam) . I emailed them already...
The only way to get this is to get to the dev. Have everyone you know email them requesting it for WP7 and you might be able to buy it....
EMAIL THEM !!!!!
It looks like they have, or are working on, a Windows 8 version. Depending how Windows 8ish Windows Phone 8 is, they might be waiting on that.
would be nice to have as a native app ... 1+ to this thread's questions...
