Anyone had any issues with the missed call exclamation mark showing, even after deleting call history?
I'm fairly certain that i didn't miss a call - but it's just there all the time now...
Any ideas anyone?
Ta!
Steve
Check in your favourite peoples tab in touch flo. Sometimes the notification only dissapears after accessing the favourite people tab.
No luck there unfortunately!
Thanks for the suggestion tho.
steve
have you looked in the notification page?
if you disabled the bluetooth notification it will stay in the notification page and will keep the last notification icon in the taskbar....
if you dismiss the bluetooth dicsconnection notification also the call notification (or sms notification) will go away
cant seem to find anything relating to bluetooth in the sounds and notifications section...
steve_bubble, are you referring to the exclamation mark on the home tab in TF3D under the clock? If so, then it's normal. The exclamation mark is part of the theme you're using. The original theme that comes on your device has this. A lot of themes actually gets rid of this exclamation mark since it doesn't really make sense for it to always be there.
Ahhh, yes, I am talking about the home tab - I really thought that the exclamation mark only showed when I'd missed a call - but then I am using a Vodafone branded TP2 - and have just "unbranded" it and can now see the homepage a bit clearer, it's possible that it was always there... ;o)-)
If this IS the case then thanks for your help and sorry for the stupid question, lol

I have the Siemens SX-66 and it has on its top right corner a LED light that blinks certain colors to give information as to whether it is charging and if it is working and such. Anyway, when I am away from the phone and I return to it is the light is blinking red that means I missed a call so I turn the screen on and see what is up. It does not do that for a text message, though. After being away from the phone I have to turn the screen on to see if I missed a text message. What I want to know is there a way I can make it to where if I miss a text message while away that the red light wil blink then too and not just when I missed a phone call?
THANKS!!!
yes u can, go
"Start">"Settings">"Sounds & Notifications"
Select "Notifications" tab
On the "Event", select "Messaging: New text message"
then u can c "Flash light for", check it then select the desire amount of time to flash after u "missed" a text message.
It is not here
I have the Siemens SX-66. I did what you suggested and went to Start">"Settings">"Sounds & Notifications. There was only a box that was already checked that said events (warnings, system events)
The other stuff are options I do not have. The stuff you told me, could it be for a different phone, or version of OS?
bump
I just had to bump this. This person gave me what was probably the correct answer but for a different phone because these instructions do not fit my phone. Can ANYONE help me? PLEASE!!!
No help?
Can't anyone help me here? The directions I was given was not correct for the model phone I have and I just HAVE to think it is feasable! PLEASE HELP! THANKS!!!!
Have you tried the software PhoneAlarm?
V
What is that?
I do not have a clue as to what that is. What is that? Is it software you add-on or something? If so what does it do and where do you get it? All I really want to do is change what I think would be a simple setting.
Thanks!!

Although you only need a simple notification setting, the LEDs can be tempremental.
Phonealarm is custom software, which is pretty much indispensible for any Phone user. I highly recommend it. Tell Bruce I sent you
It will give custom notifications depending on the kind of event, eg sms, missed call etc.

Money
This is not a huge deal and so I am not willing to spend money on it. I just want to change a setting or mess with the registry some how to make it where when a text message comes in while I was away from my phone that the notification light blinks red like it does when I miss a call in the same scenerio. It can't be this difficult and I have to think it is possible.
You have to click on the "Notifications" tab at the bottom of the screen to get to the notifications area, you are looking at the "Sounds" tab.
YES!!!
Now THAT is what I wanted. THANK YOU!!!!
The third line of the first reply to this post does specify the "notifications" tab, maybe you just missed it, but the answer was there.
have fun adjusting your notification settings hehe
if you want to use a wav file for a sound notification, place the wav file in your windows directory and it will allow you to select it. I have Hal from space odyssey tell me when "there is a message for you"
Hi i did a search using both the forums built in search and google but i still could not find an answer.
I noticed a tray icon popped up recently on my device, i don't think it's harmful or because of any newly installed application (all i have is PTTFix on it right now and a few registry tweaks) but i was still curious as to what it was.
The icon looks like "!" with a red circle that consists of an arrow.
Thank you in advance!
If it's the Icon I'm thinking of it is what I've been seeing as of late when I set my phone to silent or vibrate and I too have the PTTFix as well as a few other items including the HTC Home theme
I agree, that on mine it's the phone icon when it's set to silent or vibrate.
Yep that appears to be it, thanks for the heads up!
Can't seem to find anything in the wiki to remove it, seems like a redundant icon to have when the top bar clearly shows if the phone is on vibrate/silent.
Now you know what, how about why?
As standard, the phones don't go into Vibrate when you hold the Comm Manager button. This was an add on program by someone here (think Khypur, apologies if I'm wrong) and produced that tray icon when the phone's in Vibrate just to let you know. Since this program came out, it's been integrated into most people's ROMs, hence the icon when the phone's in Vibrate mode.
I personally agree that I'd prefer my ROM without the icon, but I'd also prefer my ROM with "holding Comm Manager button setting/unsetting Vibrate" so I'm quite happy putting up with the icon to get this!

Its that vibrate icon that pops up when you put your phone in vibrate. Its present in AT&T and almost all ROM's based on AT&T.
yes i concur
vibrate icon
I'm using Ricky's ROM with topbar, and I can't seem to get rid of the unread mail icon near the top left. When I look at the sliding panel that has missed calls, voicemails, unread emails, etc - they all say 0, but the icon won't go away. Something I'm doing wrong?

I get this sometimes as well. If you know what app created the icon (Outlook, TXT message, 3rd party email, etc), then you just need to click on it and then perhaps click on the message again (even if it is read). It *should* disappear after that.
You HAVE unread messages somewhere Double check....
Whenever you reboot your phone or turn it off and on, refresh the screen, whatever, it will not display any numbers or info next to your missed calls or messages. It is something stupid about the system. It doesn't keep track in a good way of missed calls or what not, but then again, I can't think of any phone that does this well. Most phones that have this type of setup where it displays your messages or missed calls in a panel, don't have the ability to save that info once the phone has been rebooted.
I know this happens to me, it's just the way things are. You just have to roll with the punches. Sorry.
If you are running CHomeWeather, when it updates the plugin, it reloads your homescreen, so this might be what's causing you this problem.
Sorry to jump into your thread with a question, but I've just bought my dash, and already enjoying v23.
my question is what is the 'E'? (is it email? how to get rid of it) and anyway to disable to up-down arrow in the top center?

Yes, you did. The "E" is for the Edge network ("G" is for GPRS.) The up/down arrow is for the JOGGR scrolling feature. You can disable it in the JOGGR settings.

it seems to be a threading glitch.
viewing the message sometimes doesnt reset the notification icon.
As stated above, quickly click on the text message feature in the panel and quickly followed by the end key. WOrks for me.
Is there any chance notifications could show on a TF3D tab? It's so annoying to have to hit the top status bar, and then go through the system status screen when you miss the on screen notification, especially if you have an alarm go off in the middle of the night! It's a difficult procedure when you're really still asleep.
Of course if you have another solution that I've missed, I would like to hear it.
I had the exact question and it is truly annoying!
Here is the answer I found in another thread: Click on start->settings->system->touchflo and then just simply untick show system status window.
Best regards
sojakim
Yeah at first it never came, but after a hardreset it comes automatically!
i was wondering if this is normal. i use tf3d and if i stay with in the conversation, if the person sends me a txt back, it does not make its sound notification nor does a notification come up. so is this normal feature that doesnt alert me because i am already in the conversation view or is something wrong with my phone?
yeah, i have the same problem periodically...
Here too. :-(
same here..
I have noticed this occurs when the text message thread is still 'open' on the phone. If you close that particular conversation and go to the 'All Messages' view, the notification will sound.
I believe this is a 'feature' so that the notification does not go off if you are looking at the application waiting for a text.

thats what I thought it might be. It reminds me of how IM programs handle replies where you can have the sound disabled if you have a chat window open
I've been trying to figure this out all night. It's been working all alone until today. I hard rest and the problem is still there. I flashed merdinH rom again, same problem. flashed to Energy ROM same problem. Flashed back to merdinH and have working to resolve this all night. Hope someone else has better luck then I've had tonight.

Yup, me too. I wonder if there is a registry edit to disable that feature. I want my phone to go off every time there is a message. Sometimes I'm lazy and don't close the conversation out, and just leave my phone in my pocket...next thing you know, 3 missed texts and the person thinks you are ignoring them.
I'm glad this has been brought up. Hope someone comes up with a solution.
