I found there's a small icon on the bottom of my screen (see attachment circled in red) and i dunno how can i close it.
May i know how can i hide it?
Thank You.
Hi there,
its the comm manager icon at the bottom showing your phone to be in vibrating mode at the moment.
To revert it back to normal just turn off the vibration, to remove it altogether try Shap's Configuration tool or HTCustom by shadowmite or a similar solution.
Maybe your device will become veeeery slow upon removing it, so be prepared and in case this happens just revert it to showing it again.
Cheers Chris
PS. Maybe do a little bit of reading first next time.
It's not the comm manager icon, it's the icon that indicates the ringer is in vibrate mode. Two separate things and you can't get rid of the latter (except for putting the phone in normal ring mode, of course).
I'm using Vp3G's AT&T rom and I noticed whenever I goto vibrate mode it puts another what I believe to be a vibration icon on the system tray. I don't know what it does this since the sound icon at the top turns into a vibration icon as it is. Its not a big deal but just annoying and I was wondering if anyone know how to get rid of this?
Thanks,
Ajish
to solve your problem: delete the trayiconmannermode.lnk file from \windows\startup folder and soft reset.
disadvantage: the button to toggle between ring and vibrate will not work anymore.
workaround: install vibra switch.
alternatively you can try to disable the tray bar which has been discussed a couple of times here. it is not any easy thing to do, but there are apps available (i think on www.vijay555.com you may find one) and may come along with some instability (which was my experience).
other option
use this. I can't remember the author (apologies), but he hacked the exe to remove the icon.

Pretty sure Pappl made it. I use it and it works well
I have Samberg Touch X 10.1 ROM, and when i click on the top bar, notification screen pops up. I saw on other roms, that it showed how many % i have left of my battery.
Is it possible to ad it to the notifications screen? And is it possible to add shortcuts, like disconnect 3G, and turn Wlan on/off?
Hope you can help me.
Gr, Antony.
Is there nothing?
About the percentage battery left maybe you could install the driver that makes it possible, search "1% battery increment" or something like that.
About the shortcuts I think not.
You could maybe ask the same question on the thread for that ROM.
After rooting my v.6.1 KF, manually updating to 6.2, and getting Gapps, Market, Go Launcher, WidgetLocker, etc., working my notification volume now goes to zero after setting it to > zero. Also, when choosing a notification sound, even with volume turned up, you get no notification sound. Other sound is fine (Pandora, for example).
Any thoughts? I have a 'mute' icon for volume in the upper right notification area (where WiFi is). Seems like this was not an issue last night and might have been mucked up by WidgetLocker. I'll be trying a workaround based on that theory later today but for now work calls :\
EDIT: Solved! See below.
There is an app called "Volume Control" that will let you set the various types of notifications individually. e.g. it separates notification from media from system. Very helpful.
Just had to deal with a similar problem.
As somebody else on this forum stated, the probable culprit is Widgetlocker.
I had it installed for a while, played with the settings and unintentionally changed the ringtone to mute (the right slider on the lockscreen). Had to re-install the app (had it uninstalled), changed the ringtone back to normal and voila - notification sounds are back.
Oh my God I can't believe that after all the relatively complex things I've done over the past two days that my answer to the one problem which kicked my butt hard enough to post about it was "you broke it yourself" lolol. The WidgetLocker volume slider was the problem. I had slid it to mute and never thought about it again. Everything's back to normal. Can't wait to get TWRP and CM7 running over the holidays!
Thanks for this! It made me look at the icon I thought meant "Mute" and really meant "Do Not Disturb". Turning that off brought the sound back. Thank God. Lol. I was also looking for complicated issues and blamed Amazon. Sorry!
Hi all -
Trying to see if this is normal behavior or a bug, but I have two notifications on my lock screen (Messages and Outlook). When I unlock the device, in the top left, I just see the clock and "AT&T". When I drag the status bar down, I see my messages and outlook notifications (they are not silent or minimized). Why would I want to see AT&T instead of these notifications? Is there an option I'm missing to remove the carrier info?
I'm having the same issue, you are not alone. I spent more than an hour going through every single setting, but found nothing on how to fix this issue.

Just to try and narrow the issue, are you also on an AT&T device?
Fair enough, my apologies.
I have Sprint, and this is happening on my Galaxy S20.

I think that is actually super helpful information. This appears to be a OneUI issue, rather than an android, carrier, or particular model issue. So it needs to somehow get reported to Samsung for a fix... Does anyone here know if there a public place where Samsung tracks bugs for these devices?
Or does anyone know a writer who would pick up this story for a media outlet to shine some light?
Just to try something, have you toggled the setting in status bar section that says show all notifications?
I'm taking about opening quick settings toggles, pressing the three dots menu and then status bar.
I hadn't tried that, no. However, I just did and that didn't change anything.
My wife has an S20 Ultra on AT&T, and she's seeing this as well. I know there's a way to request support or post your issue to the community in the Samsung Members app. I may try to do that from her phone later today.
I've had issues with app notifications and icon badges since the S8, they never seem to get them to work properly

UPDATE
I was using the trial for Sprint's Call Screener program. I turned it off earlier, and now I no longer see "Sprint" in the status bar. I see the icons like I should. I have no idea if that is what solved the problem or not, but I didn't receive an update today and that's the only thing I can remember changing.
Go to settings, display and change 'Full screen Apps' to Auto for all
I played with that setting. It didn't have an affect on the notification issue.

Vinsuja, that setting did not work for me, however you sent me on the right path. I have had this same issue with notification not showing. I found that the camera cut out setting is causing this. Go to settings > display > full screen apps > click 3 dots for advanced settings > turn on hide camera cutout. This adds a black bar at the top, but fixes the notification issue
Edit: You can turn the setting back off and notifications will appear. This seems to be an issue with the full screen UI
Try using QuickStar in Good Lock (if you don't have good lock yet, its in the galaxy store). Under "visibility of indicator icons" you can turn off "Network Information" on homescreen, lockscreen and Expanded QS panel, that should hide your AT&T/Sprint etc etc label in the status bar. Interestingly enough I have a Bell S20, by default for my region carrier name is not shown.. which is a bonus...
