I need ringtones and pictures from Rhodium please... - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Hello, I need ringtones and pictures from Rhodium. I want to use it in my Blackstone. Can you add to ZIP archive all files from \windows\rings and all pictures that you can see in "pictures and videos" tab on touch flo 3d and upload it somewhere (rapidshare, mediafire, sendspace)? Thank you...

You should be able to use .wma as well.. :? I found a way to locate the .mp3 to be used in the ringtone section, but I didn't figure out yet the way how 2 play it.
As far as I konw, you have to convert MP3 to wma or wav to use it as a ringtone.
Can they be stored on the SD card by default or is there a third party app for this?

Having solved this here is what to do:
Download an app to convert MP3 to wav or wma
Convert file to Wav or wma then copy to storage card
Then Start, Settings, System, Add Ring Tone
This will bring up a list of all the wav etc files on the MDA III just select the one, ones you want to add then they become available as ringtones
Hope this helps
Yes ringtones can be stored on xda iis and xda ii
Edit registry at
\HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring\
Under Directory change it into \Storage Card\ or \Storage Card\ANY FOLDER NAME YOU WANT\ (example - \Storage Card\WMA\ )

As I understand it. If you don't do the registry hack above, the ringtone is copied into main memory any way, so it's pointless having it on the storage card.
Default ringtone location changed
Just don't run addringtone then it would not search for all ring types, simply goto start>settings>phone>select your ring tone (the hack actually forces the phone to not move the ringtone into the \windows\ring\ directory, hence no wastage of space)

This machine is amazing
So I just baught the XDA 2, I know, I'm a little behind. I have the manual in .pdf and I was wondering, can the XDA 2 read .pdf's? So far I have had some trouble getting it sync'd.
Any suggestions???
One more thing? Can anyone reccommend an amout of mem? When is too much, too much?

XDA Themes & Screensavers
I'm a new XDA II buyer and would like to know how I download themes and screensavers.
If anyone can tell me a good website where I can get this for free I would be most appreciative.

anyway to use mp3 files as ring tones?

i have just changed to an XDA IIs from my k750i and so far i have found londs of things the XDA wont do that the K750i could to..
like play mp3 files as ring tones for instance. i transfered them all across and the XDA wont find them as ringtones.
anyway around this apart from converting the files!?
thanks in advance
They just need to be in the \Windows folder.
Edit: OK, just tried it. You could try converting to WMA format.
just copy your ring tones to windows/rings and you'll be able to see them in phone settings...
however, there is a registry hack to change rings path to Storage instead of RAM.. it works fine with me ( Magician )
Cheers
could u please post the registry hack here...would love to have my sd card songs all as ringtones ......also is there a reg hack to play .mp3 as a ringtone instead of converting it to .wma and then play as a ringtone...its quite annoying to convert them first and etc etc.....
MP3 Ringtone Bitrate to battery power ratio.
I'm guessing from owning an iRiver iHP-140 Personal Media Player that the MP3s Bitrate will have a bearing on the battery power usage. Going on other Forums tests 128 kbps mono/stereo 44khz will be the best bitrates for battery consumption. look forward to reg hack as well, upgrading rom to PDA2K 140.0 iMate ROM for my o2 UK xda2s, wonder if this makes a difference, will report if it dose.
if you have wm10 you get mp3 as ring tones
and to get wm10 you need a rom which include it
wm2005 does
2003SE chinese version does
Well i got this file and installed it onto my xda iis and it works. It adds a set as ringtone option in the menu that shows when u hold ur stylus on the mp3.

Place your *.mp3 file to \storage card\My Documents. You can choose that *.mp3 file as ringtone. The more free space on your storage card, the more mp3 ringtones. Cheers.

But when you right click the mp3 and 'set as ringtone', it still gets copied to \windows\rings :?
Select it (*.mp3) the usual way, i.e., Start>Settings>Sounds & Notifications. There you will see the mp3 file you placed in \Storage Card\My Documents\. Also applicable for *.wmv files.
Correction: Applicable to *.wma files too.
Doesn't work on the XDA Exec
It has worked in an Universal with WM6

Picture to Website?

Anyone know of a program that will automatically upload a picture you take to your webserver/FTP server? Preferably free if possible though I dout it.
http://www.shozu.com/
This won't let you upload to any site, but you can upload (for free) to many popular photo sites, like Flickr, Facebook, Picasa, etc.
I know Resco File Explorer lets you log into ftp's.. I have used this many times to upload camera pics to my website gallery folder. Not too complicated..

How the heck do you find videos in HTC Album?

HTC Audio Manager is a fantastic piece of software, so how come their Picture/Video manager is so terrible? Maybe it's me, but I can't find:
1. An "open file" option. How the heck am I supposed to open a file in a specific location?
2. A "sort albums alphabetically option". Okay, fine, I can accept that it's going to scan and include every single album on my device. But how am I supposed to find anything if there is no way to sort the albums?
3. A way to show only picture files or only video files. If I want to watch videos, how the hell am I supposed to find them?
I am a lifelong windows mobile user, but it's this kind of thing that REALLY drives me nuts. You want email? Sure, but you won't get a "mark all as read" button, or the ability to create rules (hence reducing the email functionality to the level of the iFail). You want to watch videos and look at pictures? Sure, we'll give you great codec support but no way to actually get to the videos.....
Am I a total idiot or is this piece of software really that bad?
You'll need to browse to where your video file is. To do this, tap the left soft key "Albums" and navigate accordingly.
However, it doesn't support many video formats. So I use it only to play back video that's taken with my device. All other videos, I use Coreplayer.
For some reason, HTC Album wasn't picking up my "Video" folder that I created on my storage drive. In fact, it still isn't - I just got it to work but only by creating a subfolder within the main "Video" folder. It only sees the subfolder.
This brings me to my next question - right now, the albums list is incredibly cluttered. Is there a way to either sort it alphabetically, or make HTC Album recognize a folder structure? Instead of the vast jumble of random subfolders (all of my pictures and video are organized meticulously), it would be much easier to have a seperate "Pictures" and "Video" folder, with subfolders such as "Movies, TV Shows", etc under each one.
Is this possible?
Anyone know how to make HTC Album rescan? I deleted a bunch of picture folders but it's still showing them.
my albums are seperated into different folders based on what they are and it works great. I just browse into the folder from HTC Album to whatever i want to watch or look at.
Here is how you rescan the library.
under device, application data, htc...there is a .vol file. Delete this, and the music application will rescan your library.
