Some tweak for better battery life. - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Hi
I found some tweak to improve battery life..not bad... i get it from some old forum when i am using TP.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\Battery]
change from 5000 to 20000
Note: Remember to restart
You harm, you can always revert it back if you think it does not work :>
Sorry I didnt want to put them on the already Tweak post cos I not sure it will work for other :> Until it is confirmed by everyone. I work for me at least :>

what is it thats being changed exactly?

This tweak is for changing the amount is polled to the battery status so often that it actually drains the battery a LOT.
From default 5000 (5seconds) to 20000 (20seconds)

ah.. i see. problem is, i dont have a way to edit the regestry on the device lol.

Change BatteryStatus from mW to mA

Probably this has happened to you, and you've didn't noticed...
When batterystatus is installed, it shows by default the battery drain in mA (miliAmpere).
But
.
.
.
.
.
.
Somehow, it has changed in my device, from mA to mW (miliWatt) !!!!
The problem, is that because of this change, the numbers are higher...I thought I was having heavy battery drain, when I noticed...wait a minute!...This is in mW and it used to be mA....That's why the values are so high...
So, the battery drain is exactly the same, but in another unit...
If you ever notice higher numbers, check if it hasn't change for you as well...
Now, the question is: how to put it back to mA again?....
Bye

MAN, Just press in the units with your stylus...
Sometimes it happens.

Nothing happens...
I'll try to uninstall it, and install it again...
Thankx for the tip anyway
Obrigado pela dica
batterystatus isn't for the trinity's processor, I beleive ...
battery status for trynity..
works very well with my trynity , I use 1.04-202 beta3 revision
mA and mW ; in my case it is sufficient to click on the unit to change it from mA into mW and the contrary...
Well, I've reseted the phone, and it works now...I can switch from mA to mW without a problem ...Thanks for the tip!
And now, for the ones who don't know about this possibility of changing between mA to mW....if you think your battery is draining, look again to your phone, and check if you have the values in mW. If you do, then change back to mA and you'll see that there's no draining after all
Bye to All
Right!
It's a bit electronic power knowlede you need to understand this... Hmmm.... I'm not sure if everyone does, but just don't use the word "battery drain" for everyghing, just because you think there is something strange your phone. It can happen a lot of other issues that your battery live is not as expected...
Thanks s1rl4ncel0t I agree with you!

SpeedBooster

Have anyone tried this app on Blackstone?
Some reports from other forums indicate much better performance after using this app.
SpeedBooster
Maybe we can find out what settings, if any, improves the performance.
I'm going to install now...
-----------------------------------
This my default benchmark before any altering.
onkolog Lite Rom
SanDisk 8Gb Class4
Tried to alter some settings, but so far only getting lower score on benchmark. Will continue to try though....
No video results.
When I tried to do the same as in the demovideo, I got lower benchmark ??
Count me in!
got the same results as the above (test done immediately after a soft reset).
played around with settings and benchmarked again. no matter what i did the results were worse than the original ones.
tried to restore the default ones with no success and had to restore from backup in order to have the best results i obtain with my original settings.
the only good thing:
-benchmark
addons:
-strip battery (very similar with the one found in the forum).
-"real close" button is overlaping the existing one.
-hack battery (make the battery last longer), not tested.
my conclusion: to uninstall it....fast..
Same Experience here.
I managed to get just slightly better benchmark.
The other tools I already had.
No point installing this.
I'm getting rid of it also.
Hi
Hello,
I'm lucky because when I install is
soft and then he did not want to get started, so then I tried not to know
why and how.
In any case thank you for the info I do not regret not working with me ...

sony xperia benchmark with SB 2.0.020.
cab here.
Guys, I think you're not using it correctly.
The benchmark measures the Hardware performance, but according to their website, you can't get more power out of nothing, the tool is to give more power to the apps you need, and take it from those you're not using that much.
Ex: when using GPS you don't care about other apps, you want the GPS to load faster.
Read more here.
For me it proves to be a useful tool, I'll test it more the next days.
Did it help?

Yepp, he (or she)'s right! And it does make a difference!
To find out for yourself, download the app and run it (it will run in demo mode, which is sufficient to see the difference in the following test). Open the processes screen, find the gwes.exe process and tap the minus button on the left until it has the lowest possible priority. Hit ok and open the windows 6.5 start menu: You will notice how scrolling through the menu is now REALLY slow and laggy! Go back into Speedbooster, enter the processes screen and now give gwes.exe the highest possible priority. Tap ok and again open the start menu: Now everything is really smooth!
So it can make a big difference! The big question is though: Which processes should have a high, which ones a low priority? Although that is simple to answer if you want to increase performance in CorePlayer or some other specific app, it's not easy to answer if you want to increase your overall performance...
EDIT: I'm going to benchmark Coreplayer with Speedbooster active and inactive to find out, how big the difference is... I'll post the results here later!
Here are the results:
I used this file (Matrix trailer): http://shintak.info/ppc/download/betaplayer/sample/RL_XQ_640x480_1500_128.avi
Results with Speedbooster inactive: 89,84 %
Results with Speedbooster active: 92,23 %
So there was a slight increase... but it's not much!
of course it does its job. its not an overclock application, but since windows mobile does not include a priority adjust application, this is so useful. for example, adjust manila.exe to high priority and open some background job. manila freezes without this app, but its so smooth with it (of course, while the background job done slower). but this is useful for web browsing and navigation applications, since they really suck sometimes (they get slow much even if u get a simple sms).
ps: i dont know how it affects battery but, it made my blackstone just like iphone with a proper config.

What is your config? I've used this and never really got it to work well.
SD card is installed.
But after I checked it myself suddely the location was moved?
Same speed before (pic3) and after I changed the settings(2)
Is this app really working?

[APP]Power Tune-Up for HTC One X

Here you go guys and girls. Another battery saving app that i came across. Here is a link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bitdefender.tuneup
Looks like it does more than just battery saving here is a description:
Battery Saver
One tap to save precious battery life by switching on the Battery Saver or create your own custom profile for extra control.
No more deep diving in individual settings. You have it all in one screen. Time is of the essence.
Battery Management
View and stop the processes that impact CPU and RAM, know available talk or standby time.
Device Clean-up
Gain extra storage by removing unnecessary cache and temporary files from your device’s internal storage, as well as from external memory cards.
3G Traffic Monitoring
Make sure you don’t get overcharged by carefully monitoring 3G data usage, setting up thresholds, and receiving notifications when limits are reached.
Battery Widget
Install the Power Tune-Up widget to keep an eye on the remaining battery time.
I know most of our members here are looking for ways to save battery so this one is for you guys..Plus it is free.
No harm in trying out a different app i say. So why not give it a shot. Leave some feedback to see if it does anything for you.

Goku, i see that you mess with the power management i like that... I have an idea, maybe you can figure it out or tell me whom to ask. We know that the power management changes (to battery saver) by default, and this is done by HTC native support, when reaches 30%.. So, my question is, can we make a simple script or a toggle to turn that on whenever we like? Maybe on 95% So, if i'm on the beach, and don't need to make all systems off and drop the cpu speed to 1GHz and reduce brightness etc., just to press that toggle and put it in that state..
That settings exist, just someone has to find the switch
Hope you got what i mean..

No harm in trying is there

[Q] sysctl.cfg tweaks

i searched for this topic but I couldn't find any thread about sysctl tweaks for the Desire. So I think it's about time...
(hope this is the right Forum?)
I found one thing in a different device's forum though, that I did try on the Desire with success:
vm.swappiness = 0
even though Android doesn't have swap by default (and my Desire neither) there was vm.swappiness set to 20. so setting it to 0 should not make a difference...but it does!
it massively increased responsiveness and speed of my Desire, as well as raising the score in Antutu benchmark from around 2500 to around 2800 points!
And I don't see any disadvantages.
I'm not sure though if this setting is set on stock kernel too because I'm using CM7, but it seems the same (nexus7 has swappiness 60, and does it have swap? couldn't really see a difference there tho)
You mostly find posts where people wanna set it to some value if they use swap, but setting it to 0 seems to be some secret?
Is it the same on other ROMs/kernel/devices? Try it and report back please
I like my 'new' phone but I guess there could be tweaked even more and people already tried...
So does anyone else have found good sysctl tweaks for our good old Desire?
to be continued...

Increase LG G4 battery life by 30% must be rooted

*I no longer have this phone so these values and builds will not be updated if you would like to add new values for this phone or add tweaks to existing builds then feel free to post them on this thread.
*This requires root
I decided to make this thread to share with you guys a tweak that I found that really helped my battery life. I was never able to get more than 3hrs of screen on time on my phone or get decent standby times on lollipop like I did when I was on marshmallow but I may have found a solution. I stumbled on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/guide-advanced-interactive-governor-t3269557 by soniCron give the guy a thanks while you're over there. This guide is for CPU settings to increase battery life and performance. I saw that it was for the Nexus 5x and because the g4 and 5x have the same CPU I decided to give it a shot. I never noticed much performance improvements but I did notice a big battery improvement like I said before. There are many different flavors of tweaks to try and I ended up going with GhostPepper and then tweaking it to my liking.
Here are my settings for the G4 based on GhostPepper
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Yn-qtExspkzINkhtjHBhQyrbtSdMLH9ls4booeqsfh4/edit?usp=sharing
* 8/14/16 If you used the settings from the beta build Turtle or modded GhostPepper check to make sure your settings are up to date. I just changed some target load numbers slightly and fixed an error with the values for above_hispeed_delay. I also fixed an error with a value for the modded GhostPepper settings.
*8/15/16 Slight changes to beta settings to increase smoothness and battery life slightly
*8/17/16 Small change to beta settings to increase smoothness more and changed development status of Turtle to stable beta meaning you can probably use it without worrying about battery drain or slow downs though it does need more testing to move it to daily use
After changing these values with some type of kernel tweaking app I used kernel adiutor, make sure all CPU boosting settings like touch boost or input interval are off or at 0
After applying these settings you should see noticeable improvements in battery life
If you find any better settings add them to the thread.
*I am not responsible if your phone dies, bootloops, bricks, or causes the world to explode.
Unfortunately, this requires root, so no-go on MM.

OK great this uses the interactive governor.
New Beta Settings
I have updated the main post with a link to a list of settings one of them is the one that was on there before and the other is one I am working on. The beta I just added seems fairly decent from my testing though this is my first time trying to make my own The small core settings are ones that I did and the Big core settings are slightly tweaked GhostPepper settings. This one seems smooth from my testing maybe not as smooth as the first one I added but it does seem to have a little better battery life when doing light gaming. If your adventurous go for it and report any issues and the battery life you are getting. I also turned all thermal settings off like Core control, VDD, and Temp throttle. It didn't have any affect on my temps if anything they went down a little maybe 1 or 2 degrees but did seem to help smoothness and making sure the governor settings acted right on both profiles.

Just wanted to post an update on the battery life I am getting with the beta settings. I managed to get almost 5hrs of screen on time with the Turtle settings beating my previous longest screen on time from the images in the first post. I managed to do this with even more demanding tasks. In the first post the battery times are with mainly web browsing this time I was mainly watching Netflix and YouTube for about 3hrs worth of my screen on time. My brightness was also 10% higher than the first time. I also did a standby test and managed to only drain 3% overnight and it said I would get 139 hrs of standby time which I think is insanely good.
Battery life test
I just ran the Geekbench 3 battery test and managed to get 5 hrs 45 min and a score of 3456 on the beta settings. I managed to beat the G4 battery time by 50min and this was with 30% brightness and Bluetooth, WiFi, and Cell on no airplane mode. I also managed to beat the G3 and almost got the same battery time as the OnePlus One.

Go to the CPU section then scroll all the way down till you get to a section that says CPU Boost. Set the Interval to 0 Sync Threshold disabled and Input Interval to 0. The input boost frequency will never disable for me but with the above settings it shouldn't matter because it will never run anyway.

I would try the GhostPepper settings first. The beta settings seem to give me better battery but they are still a work in progress and not as smooth as the other settings but you can use them if you want any feedback on those settings would be appreciated. I was also surprised how much those settings did for my battery life.
I decided to do a benchmark on how much of a difference there was between stock and the custom settings and to show I wasn't making stuff up by saying that I used these settings and magically got almost double battery life With the stock settings I got just a hair over 3hrs vs almost 6hrs on the tweaked CPU settings. You can see the results from stock in the IMG. The results for the tweaked settings are near the bottom of the first page.

How is your battery life after trying the settings out for a few days?
hey man i just tried yours and let we see the performance in next day. anyway the tweak that youve done is only on the CPU? no GPU or whatsoever? what if i implemented from others, let say other G4 users that tweak the GPU and i combined with your CPU tweak. any problem?
Hey man, how could I get the tweak for this setting? Thank you
I didn't think you could tweak the kernel without an unlocked bootloader for the Verizon G4 (vs98613b)?
