Smaller font in Start Menu - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Hi all,
is here anybody who is not using TF3D and do not like the very big font in start menu? I tryied to get it smaller via SKTools, Advanced Config and nothing helped Any ideas?
Thanx a lot

I'm using TF3D so not quite sure. But isn't that Settings > System > Screen > third tab and then slide it to the left?

It smallers only system fonts almost everywhere, but not in startmenu i mean the classic menu what appears after clicking on it...

I'm 100% sure I had this option on my TP and Diamond.
Maybe it's in: Settings > System > Taakbeheer (something as in tasks or so) > 4th tab (1: Active, 2: Exclusive, 3: Button, 4: Other).
Perhaps put the second bullet on "Small Size"?

This option is only for Task Manager, but not for start menu...

Is there a good weather forcast app available?

I am looking for a good weather app that I can quickly access from TouchFLo. The supplied one tells me next to nothing, just a high and a low temp.
I am looking for one that will tell me more. Also, I do not always have network access so I can not just use a web site.
Thanks in advance!
search for altweather, install and put the program on your programs page.

I did a search on XDA for Altweather but it only showed 2 posts...made by u!
I can't find anything about Altweather anywhere except those few posts mentioned above.
Any other good weather programs?
Can absolutely recommend SPB Traveller for it's weather module. It might be a bit too heavy for your liking tho as it's a complete suite of apps of which the Weather is but a part of. Otherwise, if you don't mind trying\using p2p stuff you can try out the full version at your leisure before you fork over the doughnuts..
SBSH Weather is excellent.
I have it as well as the TF3D weather.
I actually use it within the SBSH Pocketbreeze plugin via SecondToday. But, you can run SBSH Weather stand alone.
Here is the link: http://www.sbsh.net/products/windows_mobile_smartphone/pocketweather
Of course, you also may find freeware weather. But, I don't think there is anything that fully integrates into TF3D except as a program link or via something like SecondToday.

How do you access the today screen from TF3D? IS there an easy way? I'll search on SecondToday since I am not sure what that is.
A user on the SBSH Pocketbreeze forum called "Novalistic " showed the exact steps to use with SecondToday and PocketBreeze:
http://forums.sbsh.net/index.php?showtopic=22380&hl=secondtoday&st=30
"
After install the SecondToday, take note the following . . .
(Step 1) - Start > Settings > Personal > Today > Items > Uncheck TouchFlo 3D & Check PocketBreeze > OK
(Step 2) - In PB Settings > General > Disable Auto Height and Set Height to "534" OK
(Step 3) - In SecondToday Settings > Plugins > Check PocketBreese > Click on "Run on Startup" > OK
(Step 4) - Run Schaps' Advance Config Tools > Right Softkey Menu > More Settings > Key Mapping > Select Left (Or Right) Soft Key > Drop down > Select \Program\SecondToday\SecondToday.exe > Left Softkey Select > Left Softkey OK > Left Softkey Done
(Step 5) - Soft Reset Your Device.
(Step 6) - Start > Settings > Personal > Today > Items > Uncheck PocketBreeze & Check TouchFlo 3D > OK
"
aahh ****, delete this post please!

what do u have if u off TF3D??

when i disable TF3D, i oni see a blank screen and there is no today screen, is tis normal??
yes...that is normal...it is default today screen of windows mobile...there are many today tools such as spb mobile shell and point ui if u do not wish to use touch flo...
yes, your still at your home or "today" screen its just TF3D is a "today" screen plug in, you can have whatever you like as your plug-ins under start > setting > Today > items (you will notice TF3D in the list with a check mark next to it when active )

Link to the Control Panel

Hello guys,
After a long search on the web I can't find the answer to "How to create a control panel shortcut on Windows Mobile".
Out of the box, our Rhodium are packaged with a "Settings" shortcut in the start menu which links to the Settings tab of Manilla. I find this annoying, if i want to go to the manilla settings, i use manilla not the start menu.
So I want a direct link to Windows' control panel. I've seen many ways to link to a specific applet, but not the whole control panel.
Anyone can help ?
PS : Also I'm looking for the HTCSettings.exe file stored in every Rhodium (WM6.5 version)... I've accidentally deleted it :/
Thanks !
I am not sure I understand the question, but I think what you want is to be running TouchFLO instead of Windows Default.. If that is correct, the solution is simple. Click Start>Settings>ToDay>Items>TouchFLO 3D>OK>X and you should have it. What you want is to be running TouchFLO instead of Windows Default.
Hope that helps.
what he is saying is that he wants to got to the control panel or "settings" from the start menu, when you hit start and then settings it takes you to manilla settings
What annoys me is that the Bluetooth and Today screen prefs are ONLY available through the Windows CPL, things like QuickMenu don't see them..
You got is cs400, that's what I'm looking for.
Someone can send me the original HTC Settings.exe (Located in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs) ?
Okay guys, I figured out how to solve this problem by hanging around in the registry !
How to change the "Settings" icon in the Start Menu to make it open WM's Control Panel rather than Manilla's settings panel ?
- First go to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs and remove (or move) the file HTC Settings.exe
- Then go to the registry \HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo and change the value HideSettings from 1 to 0
- Reboot your device, it's done !
I am trying to change the 'Settings' button in the Start Menu to open the WM Control Panel instead of the Manila settings, however, the \HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo key does not exist in my registry. Is there another way to link to the Control Panel? Thanks!
WM control panel shortcut
I would appreciate anyone telling me how to make a shortcut that links to the WM Control Panel.
Thanks!

Thank-you a million times! Just installed something that crashed my HTC Sense, and couldn't for the life of me work out how to get to Remove Programs so I could un-install it! I now have my phone back, without having to go down the hard-reset route which I'd feared was my only option.
you could do as htc intended and clicked "all settings" on the settings tab for those manila doesnt cover.
Which would have worked brilliantly....had I been able to get to the settings tab in the first place.
With Sense freezing, I had to run the 'change my background' option from 'Getting Started' to get into the Today options and disable Sense. Then use the tips in this thread to get the Settings folder back on my Start Menu. Normally I would have used the All Settings option, but couldn't in this case, and it's funny how much you don't realise is missing from a start menu....until you need it!

Tmobile 6.5 ROM - Browser Defaults

One niggle with this update (which I otherwise do like by the way) is that it comes with the browser set to default to Opera.
This was reasonable in older loads. It isn't any more - the new IE included is IMHO better than Opera.
I went into Internet Explorer and turned on the "default check", started it, and told it to make itself the default browser. That fixed links in text messages, in the Twitter application I use, and in emails.
BUT....
1. The ALT-BROWSER keyboard shortcut still starts Opera.
2. Manila/Sense still starts Opera as well.
The former is a real pain if you're in the browser, someone SMSs you, you read it, and then want to flip back to IE with a couple of keystrokes instead of fobbing the screen. The latter I care less about as I don't usually have that enabled anyway, but it would be nice to be able to fix it.
I looked around in the registry with Total Commander and have had no luck (thus far) finding where the keys are that control this. Does anyone know where the keys are in the registry to fix that?
Opera's "settings" menu DOES NOT have a "set as default" (or unset as default) option - a search here found that as a suggestion, but the claimed option does not exist in the version that is included in T-Mobile's ROM.
Oh, one other note - the icon packs that worked with 6.1 ROMs will not pick up the signal strength with 6.5. This is probably due to a difference in the radio...is there a fix for that one as well?
Thanks in advance.
IE: Check out Message 6 (has a link for an overview of the tweak) or Message 10 (has simplified, detailed steps to do this) of a thread on T-Mobile.
To load a different radio (like the one that initially came with the stock T-Mobile ROM: 3.45.25.14), you need HardSPL, which will void your warranty, but reinstalling stockSPL will "un-void" it.
That got the Manila entry but not the keyboard shortcut, which is the real bummer...

Oh right, I knew I forgot something!
You have the T-Mobile TP2, right? Here's how you do it:
GSM Rhodium Keyboard Controller will let you remapp the hardware keys.
Once installed, go to Start > Settings > System > Keyboard Config > Menu > Add key > [check Combine with FN key] Press the hardware Left Arrow button (that'll map the ALT+Left arrow button, which is the shortcut to the Internet) > Event: Click > Action: Run program > Program: iexplore.exe > OK > Update config.
It should now launch IE via ALT+Left arrow!
That did it - thanks!
