hey guys i got the gameloft hd asphalt 4 it works in the dash you only have to rotate the screen and its perfect you can navigate and move in the menus but when you are going to start the race you have to use on screen controls like tapping the screen i was trying to make it work without using a touchscreen phone but nothing yet ill post the game or if any of you guys have any idea how to make it work its an awesome game please post here
on the HTC blackstone were missing out on loads of games because we have no d-pad is the no way of creating a touch mini contoller at bottom half of screen?
I hope someone will do it soon, it would be wonderful
if you use the search function you should get results with people posting about about touch controllers that will sit at the bottom of the screen (since almost no game has a native resolution of 800x480). Which is also how you can run various emulators (like nes)
The problem with such a bottom-controller is that the screen is not capable to recognize more than one press, so you can just press one button at once.
Asphalt 4 is available for the HD now. it has a soft pad at the bootom to controll and it looks like gameloft will release more and more games with such an interface specialy for wvga devices.
but the graphic and the gameplay sucks. it's not fun at all. it's not worth a dollar.
Why not invest in a external game pad? It wouldn't be that big and you would only bring it when you know your going to be bored.
Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone knows if there HTC Desire?
Download either snes or cps2 emulator from the market then download a Street fighter Rom to use with it .

Android Arcade Emulator (MAME) - http://www.appbrain.com/app/org.emux.arcade
CPS2HD Emulator - http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.jrioni.cps2hd
I also have a few of them running with Gensoid. Street Fighter II Turbo is the better one.

I'd love to play games like this on my Desire (or iPod Touch for that matter), but the fact remains that playing a game like this on a touchscreen must be nigh on impossible.
I know wii accessories can be used on non-Sense ROMs, but is there another option?

You might be very surprised; I was
I grew up during the heydays of Master System, Mega Drive and Nintendo gaming so I remember these titles and their play very well. If you can avoid sweaty fingers and a smudgy screen making your joypad swiping near impossible... it works very well actually. I've played many such old skool games on it.
I'm not sure if you've tried any of the emulators but they basically change your screen into a joypad with re-arrangeable buttons and the lot of them movable around the screen. The buttons available can be chosen along with their transparency. The battery drain is lower than typical multimedia usage.
Me trying to kill Ryu just now (tough nut - uploaded from phone) -> http://db.tt/Z1bCnK
Looks like I made Chun Li cry -> http://db.tt/fUKTSz
Those are direct screenshots during play. Put those images on the phone in landscape mode and maximize until the height hits the edge. That's exactly what the size of the game display you'll see.

I downloaded this game a couple day ago and cant stop playing it! It just went free in the market recently and it's playable without multitouch. The graphics and gameplay are unmatched by any other game on android due to Unreal Engine.
The only downfall (I'm not really complaining) is that after the game is installed it downloads 600 megabyes of data to the internal memory for tutorials, levels, etc
Trendy Entertainment has announced a PvP expansion as well.
Now I'm sad that I have to lose my game data to install the latest firmware and market mod
Downloading now.
Looking at the graphics from the screen shots in Market, you should get Pocket Legends. It has similar graphics, its free and it was the first MMO for Android. Cross platform play with iPhone/iTouch also.
Thanks, I'll have to look into that. I noticed an issue with Dungeon Defenders today. I was playing the second level and my attack button stopped working. I don't know if the touchscreen got too warm after two and a half hours of straight gameplay or it it was just locking up on me. It cost me the level
I just downloaded pocket legends but it stays at the connecting to server screen forever. Im on the latest firmware with the market mod
