Hey,
I'm getting a really annyoing advertisement Banner the last few days:
Its from a fraudulent site where you can make a death test for 3€ in a 5 day abo.
But thats not the point: everytime you go with your cursor across the banner it plays a really annoying giggle sound. And The Banner is located above the Forums so you cross it quite often. There is no option to deactivate sound in this flash banner.
I'm from Germany so its likely that only people with a german IP will see this banner.
Wah, it really makes you crazy while reading the Forums.
If you mean to a spam thread or post you can help clicking on the red button on your right, just behind the number of post so Mods can determine the proper action.
If you are talking about publicity, the only way I can think to get rid of it is that all members donate!
Just my opinion
Have a good day,

Hi!
If you check out www.my-symbian.com, the forum has a "Blue button"
This is a "click-here-to-alert-the-moderators-about-this-post" button.
It sends a mail to a list of admins containing a link to the post, and the reporter.
This way, users can alert admins of post that violate the rules of the site. For example: warez or spam
I think this is a standard module for this PHP BB engine..
Come on..
No one going to respond?
Not even to say: "I agree" or "I disagree"?
Take a look at this example, and I think that many could agree with me..
The moderators should be more active, and this would be of great help to them..
At least I think so..
I agree
Absolutely right! Not sure where thwe mods are right now but we could sure do with them! (and the blue button).
Hey!
So, I have my options here set to show 50 posts per page, but one thing I really miss for this is a button next to each post which brings me back to the top.
Sometimes I don't have to get all the way to the bottom in a thread and when I want to get back to the top, this means a lot of scrolling.
This gets even worse on my HD2...
If I'm at 3/4 of a page and want to get back to the top I have to zoom out and scroll ALL the way back to the top or to the bottom.
I've seen this feature in many fora, but I really miss that here
Would it be hard to implement here?
Regards,
Lukas
No answer to this request?
At least say "No"

Hey-- this is an entirely reasonable request, and I will put it on my list. We've been a bit behind recently in fixing vBulletin bugs (and adding new features) because we lost the developer who was helping out with that stuff. We're currently trying to find someone who knows vBulletin inside and out. If you guys know anyone, send me a PM.
Hi
I' like to suggest something like an opposite to the Thanks button.
It might not need to be profile-wide but I want to be able to mark a Post at least within a thread as unhelpful.
I'd suggest that button only being visible for OPs and requiring giving a reason.
Then this Post should be collapsed or gryed or something that it is easy to see that it's nonsense.
This button is NOT meant for disregarding people but to be able to have mor control over own threads when it comes to organization.
It is meant to mark posts as unhelpful not when they are just like things somebody already tried but it is really meant to mark posts like "Android of Course" which I had in my Thread.
If I ask for a decision-help it is not enough to say Android but you should tell why this would be you choice.
So the Button should only clear the thread and give the OP an opportunity to clear it by tagging SPAM, Floods, etc.
To prevent wrong usage I'd further suggest this feature only being available for OPs which have at least lets say 15 posts to ensure they are not only trolls or so who try to blend out answers which give some information about its a troll or so.
And further I (as said) think there should be a reason to be given like a dropdown:
Spam
Flaming
Stupid Comment
Off-Topic
Other Reason (opens Text-Box)
A marked post could look like this (Modified Screenshot taken out from the Spammers Thread):
I don't know if it's just me, but I frequently end up unsubscribing from threads when I what I really wanted to do was view them.
The layout of various email notifications from different forums are all different, and in my experience most of the time the "visit this thread on the web" is the first link under the response. In the case here the first link completely unsubscribes you from the thread without any confirmation request. I then have to go and resubscribe again.
Most other forums have a confirmation page when unsubscribing - is there a reason there isn't one here?

We balance ease of unsubscribing with having a confirmation dialog to ensure member wishes to actually unsubscribe. Given that balance we err to the side of unsubscribing right away because we don't want people to mark our emails as spam. It is easy enough to re-subscribe to a topic as well. But I'd be interested in hearing others opinion on this.
Nothing makes me more mad then having to sign in when I want to cancel a subscription. That being said, I usually enjoy the XDA emails I get, but for other sites that I need to sign in to cancel email bombs, but don't know my login information. I get angry.
Keep as is.
I appreciate the perspective, but I don't see either of these points as a barrier.
How does requiring a simple one-click confirmation inside the web page change if the email is viewed as spam? In both cases the email is identical. If someone manually is flagging the email as spam then they obviously aren't active in the first place (anyone who is active wouldn't do that).
Also I didn't say that you had to log in to unsubscribe. A simple one-click confirmation inside the web page is all I'm proposing. Considering how it currently launches the site to complete the unsubscribe this would only add 2 seconds.
Personally I don't see any issues with the current email layout.
The link to the thread is at the top of the email, and the unsubscribe is WAAAAY at the bottom. I have no idea how manage to click the wrong one
Because a lot of other forums have their links all at the bottom, and the first link is usually the one to go to the web version. I'm on a lot of different forums, and I have (unfortunately) developed the habit of just clicking the first link after the response in order to see the response in it's full context.
Oddly enough other forums also have a confirmation for unsubscription.
When there's a 1-line reply it's also not "all the way at the bottom".
How about this then: Instead of a confirmation, how about just a "Did you click this by accident? Click _here_ to resubscribe" after the "You have successfully unsubscribed" message?
That way if you intended to do that then there is no change at all, but if you did it by accident it's easy to undo the action.
All of us are XS users, since we're posting at an XS sub-forum, what's the point of showing it off with a banner? The pages are now completely cluttered, take more time to load and makes every page a mess. Picture signatures should be banned. Or at least be made at reasonable sizes.
Now I gotta disable signature showing to make the forums look clean, which in turn removes useful signatures like FXP, who has download links in his signature.
Please people, be reasonable. We all know you're an Xperia user since you're posting here, no need to show it off with a huge picture on every post.
This happens everywhere..not just here.
I would like to suggest people to use
tags
Need help with CyanogenMod??Go here CM Help Thread Sent via the muffin launch _/^\_
I know, but it wasn't the case in this subforum before. But lately it's been picking up insanely fast.
I noticed this too, and wrote a letter to moderators. No answer since them. So Adblock is my new banner eraser
Isn't there an option in user CP to "hide signatures"?
EDIT
Yep!
Edit Options>>Visible options, uncheck signatures.
EDIT
Sorry just reread your first post, so this isn't helpful
I have to go with Ortega1, just use Adblock if the mods won't stop those ginormous sigs.
