TP2 Disconnecting from PC - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Hi,
If I leave my TP2 connected to my pc after a few minutes it seems to disconnect itself.
It disappears from WMDC and my computer.
TP2 still charges, only way to rectify is to unplug and plug back in.
Any ideas anyone?
Many Thanks
Milo

Hmm...I was using a standard usb-mini usb cable. This was the problem.
I plugged in my htc cable and everything seems okay now!

Touch HD USB problem.

Hi all. Since yesterday I have a problem with my blackstone not being recognized through the usb cable. The computer doesn't see that my phone is connected. The only thing is that my battery is being charged, so I guess the usb connector on the phone itself is okay.
Also, when I go to the bootloader mode, the usb connection is not recognized. I tried several cables and several pc's/notebooks. Problem remains the same in all circumstances.
What could be wrong, because it worked perfectly before. Phone has not had waterdamage or whatsoever.

I experience this problem occasionally and solved it by rebooting my PC. Seems the problem is with Active Sync rather than the phone. Worth a try if you haven't already done so.
Of course I tried that. Several cables, but like I said. When you go into bootloader mode, and connect the usb cable, it normally should say usb, but it remains at serial. So I'm concluding that it's not a windows mobile problem.

OK, I understand your problem a little better. You must ensure that your phone has synched with your PC before entering bootloader. Also remember if you are trying to flash your ROM using USPL, you must first uncheck the "Allow USB connections" in Connection Settings on Active Sync (in fact, it is possible you did this before but forgot to re-enable it).
Hope this helps.
Okay, fair enough. But the problem is that the phone isn't recognized when put on usb, while the proper option is selected. When I got my phone, I HSPL'd it, so I don't need USPL.
My idea is that the usb connector on the circuitboard of the phone is defective. As I understand from a mechanic, that usb connector has a total of 10 pins for getting 'juice' for the battery and for usb connection. Could be that the pins for usb connection are damaged in some way. That could explain why charging the phone through usb still works. So I'm dealing with a hardware problem I think.

[Q] Evo usb not recognized AT ALL

Whenever I plug my phone into my computer now all it does it show the little charging light in the top left corner of the EVO, and not the notification asking to turn on usb storage in the pull down menu, or give any errors, and nothing pops up on the computer.
Recently, I started to have usb problems where the notification on the phone was flashing on and off and the usb connected sound on the computer kept going off (like the phone was connecting and disconnecting to the usb port on the computer every second), but I thought this was a cable problem and since I didn't need usb at that moment, I brushed it off.
I'm pretty sure my phone still charges fine because the light goes on. No, It isn't a problem with the cables or the computers because i've tried multiple cables and computers. I don't understand what the problem is because my charging still works fine and I don't get error messages, it's just that usb won't connect at all anymore

If that doesn't work, you may have a hardware defect, and it'd be best to unroot and take it to sprint.

[Q] Connected to PC - charging only

Hi guys. i recently noticed that when i connect my desire to pc it's not coming up with any removable disk on pc, i've installed htc sync, on my phone i tried connecting it with 3 different roms, none worked, when i put card in dad's phone, pc find it. any solutions?
Which Rom are you using? On most roms, there is a storage option in the notification area which you can select.
atm i've got runnemede aio 6.0.4 but as i stated, it also didnt came up with notifications in mildwild rom and insertcoin rom
It might just be a bad usb cable. When you plug the phone to the computer, do you hear the common sound you hear when you plug a device to the usb port? It's possible that the data wires of the usb cable is broken while the wires for the power is still okay that's why it's charging and not detecting it's plugged in to a computer. Try to test it with a different cable.
If it's the same result then you can consider checking the phone and the computer ports.
Did you check Menu>Settings>Connect to PC>Connection Type ?
USB Cable, USB Port on PC or Phone.
Try connecting to another computer, that way you eliminate the phone.
Then try another cable.
If that doesn't work my guess the USB Port on the phone is dead. Flashing a new O/S may fix it, but I doubt it.
tried 2 diff nokia microusb cables, both charged only and for nokia phone (6500s) mass storage worked, damn i hope its not phone

[Q] PC Shuts down when connecting HOX via USB cable

Anyone know why my PC shuts down whenever I connect my HOX to it using USB Cable? Actually it also happens when connecting my gf's XE. Grounded or something? After it shuts down, it takes time to restar. Well maybe because it wasn't properly shutdown. Any help would be appreciated much. TIA.

Have you tried connecting your mobile with another pc/laptop, I don't think it was an issue related with mobile.
Anyway try installing HTC Sync which will install all the required usb drivers, which may help.

[Q] S3 Connecting and Disconnecting in USB Debugging

I cannot connect my S3 to the PC with USB Debugging On. It keeps connecting and disconnecting every 2 seconds. Does anyone know why? I cannot root unless the PC recognises it. USB Debugging Off its good though. Drivers installed normally. This is very frustrating. I have plugged it in a different USB port, restarted both the phone and PC, used different cable etc.
The PC recognices it fine with USB Debugging Off. Once I turn it on and plug it in, it connects and disconnects every 2 seconds. HELP!!!
