Touch HD USB problem. - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hi all. Since yesterday I have a problem with my blackstone not being recognized through the usb cable. The computer doesn't see that my phone is connected. The only thing is that my battery is being charged, so I guess the usb connector on the phone itself is okay.
Also, when I go to the bootloader mode, the usb connection is not recognized. I tried several cables and several pc's/notebooks. Problem remains the same in all circumstances.
What could be wrong, because it worked perfectly before. Phone has not had waterdamage or whatsoever.

I experience this problem occasionally and solved it by rebooting my PC. Seems the problem is with Active Sync rather than the phone. Worth a try if you haven't already done so.

Of course I tried that. Several cables, but like I said. When you go into bootloader mode, and connect the usb cable, it normally should say usb, but it remains at serial. So I'm concluding that it's not a windows mobile problem.

OK, I understand your problem a little better. You must ensure that your phone has synched with your PC before entering bootloader. Also remember if you are trying to flash your ROM using USPL, you must first uncheck the "Allow USB connections" in Connection Settings on Active Sync (in fact, it is possible you did this before but forgot to re-enable it).
Hope this helps.

Okay, fair enough. But the problem is that the phone isn't recognized when put on usb, while the proper option is selected. When I got my phone, I HSPL'd it, so I don't need USPL.
My idea is that the usb connector on the circuitboard of the phone is defective. As I understand from a mechanic, that usb connector has a total of 10 pins for getting 'juice' for the battery and for usb connection. Could be that the pins for usb connection are damaged in some way. That could explain why charging the phone through usb still works. So I'm dealing with a hardware problem I think.

[SOLVED]Computer see's device for a few seconds, then disconnects.

Interesting problem I have had on and off. When I plug my phone into my desktop, it will connect normally, then a few seconds later it acts like I unplugged it. It's not the rom as it does it in recovery as well(both with usb-ms activated and without). I have HTC Sync installed. Rebooting either the computer and/or phone doesn't fix it, it just goes away after awhile and starts working again. I've experienced the problem FAR less when connecting it to my laptop, it will typically work there and not on my desktop when the problem crops up.
it's like this problem but it's not constantly http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711616
-Edit- the device also doesn't show it's charging even when it 'disconnects'
I have the same problem. just keeps discontenting over and over it sees it for a few seconds then disconnects reconnects then off again.

Mine doesn't reconnect, it 'disconnects' and stays that way(as if i unplugged it) until i actually do unplug it and reconnect it.
-edit- 1,000th post, YAY
I was having the same problem on my MacBook until I realized the MacBook must be plugged into power. Once plugged in everything was good. I wonder if the Evo demands more power through USB then other devices.
Yeah, sounds like a power issue to me. If you're using a USB port on a hub or on a keyboard, try one on the PC itself. Also, it could be a slow USB port or a bad cable if you are continuing to have issues. Try another computer if you can, and if you still have the problem try a different cable. Still have the issue, reflash (if you're running a custom rom) or contact Sprint for service.
Same issue here, but on a desktop PC (Dell Studio XPS) using the front-mounted USB port (not a hub). Keeps disconnecting/reconnecting, but often takes 10-15 minutes between cycles. Using stock ROM (for now, at least). Will try other ports & another PC and will report back.
Already tried different ports, only motherboard ports
Rom doesn't matter as the problem exists in both android and recovery
Don't have a different cable, however the same cable will work fine on my laptop then not work on my desktop

If it works on a laptop, but not the desktop, then it appears to be an issue with your desktop. Any other USB devices doing it?
I would check your motherboards manufacturer and make sure you've got the right USB drivers, a bios update might be in order as well.
But before all that, I've got an idea. First and foremost, try this:
Go to device manage (either from control panel, right-clicking my computer and going to properties, or searching for devmgmt.msc in the start menu search.)
Navigate down to Universal Serial Bus controllers, double click on USB Root Hub (you probably have 1 for every USB Port, so you may have to do them all.)
Click on the Power Management tab, and uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." check box and see if that solves your problem.
i had this issue on my hero. it was corrected for me after i did a wipe of data and cache. i restored from titanium afterwards. YMMV
good luck
one thing you might try is disabling sense and using the android launcher. then reset the phone. once it boots up try and connect it to your pc. This was how I got mine to connect. when I was using the sense launcher it somehow blocked that options screen and the default I selected wouldn't stick. once I got the connection to my pc working this way I was able to re-enable sense and it's worked perfectly ever since.
I do not take credit for this fix, someone else on here told me to try this n it worked perfectly.

it was nothing with the rom, since it was doing the same thing in recovery.
it turned out to be the short little usb extender cable that was going a foot and ahalf from behind my pc to the side so i could plug it in easier.

I can confirm this works on my HTC Desire - had been racking up my brains for the past couple of days now with no solution! Thanks a lot. This is on PC with Win7 Ultimate.

[Q] Evo usb not recognized AT ALL

Whenever I plug my phone into my computer now all it does it show the little charging light in the top left corner of the EVO, and not the notification asking to turn on usb storage in the pull down menu, or give any errors, and nothing pops up on the computer.
Recently, I started to have usb problems where the notification on the phone was flashing on and off and the usb connected sound on the computer kept going off (like the phone was connecting and disconnecting to the usb port on the computer every second), but I thought this was a cable problem and since I didn't need usb at that moment, I brushed it off.
I'm pretty sure my phone still charges fine because the light goes on. No, It isn't a problem with the cables or the computers because i've tried multiple cables and computers. I don't understand what the problem is because my charging still works fine and I don't get error messages, it's just that usb won't connect at all anymore

If that doesn't work, you may have a hardware defect, and it'd be best to unroot and take it to sprint.

Galaxy Nexus GSM: No wall charge and USB not recognized

Hi guys,
My GNex has a problem. Many users seem to have a similar problem but theirs seem to be hardware related and I'm pretty confident mine is software related.
It started a few months ago when my GNex wouldn't charge through the wall charger. I was on a trip with my friends so I didn't have access to a pc and wasn't able to troubleshoot further. The charging icon would appear when the phone was off but when I turned it on it didn't charge. I played around with the phone for about two hours, rebooting, Googling for solutions, changing the USB connection modes in the Storage settings. When I changed from Next Launcher to Stock launcher and rebooted everything was working fine again. However I think it was only a coincidence. Then the problem didn't occur again until now and this is why I think it's software related. If hardware would have been broken the problem wouldn't just have fixed itself like that.
It happened 3 days ago but somehow fixed itself again. I was troubleshooting the issue with my GNex connected to PC and installed Nexus Root Toolkit by Wugfresh. During install my phone rebooted on it's own and suddenly USB worked perfectly again!
However yesterday I forgot to charge and my GNex died. On reboot the issue was back.
"Symptoms":
Phone won't charge with any wall charger (and any cable) unless off
Phone will charge through USB in any mode but PC will not recognize it and install it as unknown device.
USB Debug Icon and Connection Mode notification do not appear in status bar upon PC connection
OTG doesn't work and apps like "Stickmount" do not detect external drives
Attempts:
Gently bending the "tongue" inside the micro usb on the phone in case there is a bad connection
Reinstalling drivers on PC
Rebooting device in different modes including fastboot
Using different batteries
NOTES
This problem started after latest 4.3 update. It has only occured after battery completely runs dry. I have 3 batteries (a bit excessive I know) and an external battery charger so charge is not the issue, I just really want to understand what's going on with my phone.
I'm not ready to Factory Reset or replace the USB port yet, those are last resort options to me. Any other options, especially software related, are very welcome. I am on stock 4.3 only rooted and with CWM recovery.
In Testing menu (type *#*#4636#*#* in Dialer) under Battery Settings my phone also says Charging (AC) when connected through USB. Hope this helps.
Been Googling around for two days now so I decided to make my own thread. Any help is appreciated. Sorry for this very long post.
Fixed it! Tried bending the tongue inside the micro usb again, forced much more this time, everything is working again, for the moment

[Q] USB Mode issue

So my phone is no longer being recognized as a USB device by my computer. Whenever I plug my phone in, I don't see the USB storage option on the top of my phone, nor will my computer even acknowledge that it's been plugged in. This issue has never happened to me before, and it only started acting up just last night. It isn't an issue with the computer OR the cable; I've tried with many different PCs and cables, both third party and official, and I'm getting the same problem. I don't think it's an issue with a broken microusb port, either, since it still charges. Interestingly enough, the computer WILL notice that something has been inserted when I plug it in... if the phone is off. However, the phone only shows up as an unknown device. Also, when I check the battery status, it almost always says that I'm charging via AC even though I'm using USB.
After exploring the forum, I've discovered and tried using *#7284#, but the code refuses to work. (I also tried other codes just to see HOW they work, and none of them will register on my phone.)
I'm currently running CM 7.1, and my phone is rooted. I haven't changed the ROM ever since I started using it, which was about a good year or so ago, and I seldom do any sort of flashing, so I highly doubt it's related to that.
Any suggestions? I thought it might be a dirty microusb port, since I've also been getting the random Car Mode popups as of late, but after cleaning it out, nothing seems to have changed.

Help to fix charging and usb connection issue

Hello dear.
I have a problem with my p601,
I cant connected my tablet to PC.
When i connected, just charging and no any connection.. In odin or storage not show a device, adb not connected...
And when i used a charger show an red stroke on battery icon. And charging is very slowly, during night only 50%.
I'm root my device, install twrp, and install cyanogenmod, but nothing change.
Now whats your idea? How i can fix this issue?
This may be an obvious question but have you tried a different cable or charger? I always found running on stock ROM that charging was an issue unless I powered it down. I have used a 12W Crapple charger and that seems to work ok but charging has never been an endearing part of the this tab.
So in Odin you it doesn't work? Could you have some dirt or contaminants in the USB port, start with the obvious, change the cable, use a different usb on the pc or try another pc altogether.
I had same problem, i noticed that the usb port was loosen little bit, i had to open the tablet apply small pressure with plier to afjust the usb port,,,, and now it's perfect.
