i have been using the 6.5 roms and find there are a lot of inconsistencies among the different roms. hence my question.
yes, the roms are pretty stable currently, but i would like to see a more consistent interface.
once the official version start being released on phones, how quickly will they turn up in a cooked form on xda, so that i can flash my diamond with one?
I think HTC will not be released WM 6.5 for old diamond at all

i meant an official 6.5 version converted for diamond (which would be just as good, if not better than an official diamond version)
Well the first devices to ship with 6.5 officially are the T-Mobile Wing II (Rhodium 100) and the Dopod Tachi (HTC Twin) and that is in July at some point. So expect something shortly after that.
The 21815 and 21820 prerelease builds are stable and fast!
However, WM6.5 release will leak soon, they're at the end of developing... and... in final 6.5 version I suppose that there'll be few minor changes, because latest builds are nearly perfect... so don't be anxious for final version..
And quoting incredulous, someday of July we'll have final 6.5!

If that information was true for all TyTN devices, that would be great news. Operating my TyTN with Bebe´s WM6 for one week now, I can say that there are worlds between the TyTN under WM5 and WM6:
With WM6
- the TyTN works much faster
- bluetooth inkl. AD2P works stable
- TomTom 6 works stable (without hanging)
- a nice VoIP integration comes along
- TCPMP works stable
In my eyes the TyTN becomes a perfect little tool with WM6 installed on it!
I´s really appreciate a free WM6 upgrade from HTC - it would perfectly fit the TyTN´s hardware.

Oh, I forgot to mention, www.qtek.se is the official distributor for HTC branded devices in Sweden. Info is official and straight from the source.
So, you might want to rephrase that to "...will be good to see a HTC WM6". :-D

We're on the northern hemisphere, so it would be when it is winter in Australia.
BTW, "Juni/Juli" translates to "June/July".

I also heard that Vodafone Germany are going to release WM6 updates for Hermes and Herald...
We get the same update i Denmark. BUT. I dont really think that the rom will be any better than the ones we get here. Why? Because when the official releases come I am must certain that some of the Chefs in here will cook some improved roms on top of the official release.
If we look at the M$ history on software - there will be things to improve...hehe.
But - thats my opinion. What are yours?

Better?
I don't know.
But unlike the cooked ROMs it is not illegal, does not void my warranty and has full support from HTC.
Ciao all,
one question for you: i have updated my S620 to WM6 but
they are in STANDARD version (official from HTC).
have you any others version for my smartphone??
the best I have found is the Rogers Rom. It is just as fast as the HTC but is a little easier on the eyes
Rogers Rom here
Rogers Cretificate here you will need this
And lastly, Here is the sticky that makes it all possible
Note: this is not a Professional however. Pro is only for phones with a touchscreen. I still think you will like it better though.
very nice buddy.. thanks for all

WM6 Professional is specifically for PocketPC-based (touchscreen) devices; from what I know, the ONY version of WM6 that will be released for smartphones (non-touchscreen) is Standard.
Hi There all Artemis gurus,

Same question...
There's 2 in development that have been announced on here.
One has already been released as a 'beta' for testing by Tom although it seems there are bugs at the mo so it's not a final release. To download this got to the thread named 'oops black beta'.
There's another German one being made with the possibilty of an English version too.
Hopefully with 2 Diamond roms out in the not so distant future we'll have something pretty and new to choose from soon!
Also just wanted to clarify, I have heard that Windows 7 mobile should be out pretty soon. Does any one have any clue of this version ?
This is from Wikipedia:
Windows Mobile 7
Codenamed "Photon"[29], Windows Mobile 7 is a major upgrade planned for release in 2nd half of 2009.[30] Not much else is known about the release, though leaked information suggests a revamped UI, multi-touch and motion-related features
There could be WM7 roms floating around before then, but I'm unsure whether Artemis and some existing HTC devices would be able to support this or not.
WM7 on the art will run like a dog....

Exactly my thoughts.
May even struggle on something like a Kaiser.
My Diamond is my first HTC phone so I don't have any experience of how long they actively develop ROMs for their phones.
We're now on 1.93.x.x which is the basis for all the great cooked ROMs on this forum, but are HTC likely to release a major ROM upgrade for the Diamond which the chefs can work with - or does everyone think that 1.93.x.x will be the last official release?
its anyone's guess...
I remembered the o2 atom was way past its used by date... then out of the blue someone hacked WM6.1 to run on it unofficially...
same might be done when the HTC HD comes out...
i saw the clips on it... TF3D was running smooth as butter... with no choppyness / frame rate drop...
hopefully we'll get an 'official' firmware update... (since the hardware is the same more or less?)
if not there's the TF2D section in the xda hacking area... and rom cookers are always improving on rom speed
I had an iphone prior to changing to the touch diamond... there's more potential in this phone than apples...
double post... del
Hi,
I apologize if the answer to this question is obvious or stupid - I can't seem to find it stickied or find it, but where do you get the "official" 6.5 ROM for the Touch Diamond? I was told by HTC that there is no official 6.5 ROM for the Diamond, so I'm a little confused.
me 2
I'm also looking for an official 6.5 ROM for the Diamond but it seems that HTC has not released any 6.5 ROM for Diamond, and the guys who cook ROMs around here are probably using a ROM for another phone (probably the Diamond 2) to cook 6.5 ROMs for the Diamond.
But I might be mistaken... If so, could someone post a link to the official 6.5 ROM for the Diamond ?
please guys understand that never will be a 6.5 for diamond. at this point we should not see updates/fixes or anything from htc to diamond1.
no rom
The weird thing is that I also have an HTC Snap, the Snap came out right after the Diamond, and you can download the 6.5 ROM for the Snap on HTC's website. Also, if you look at the number of threads on the xda forum for Diamond1, and you look at the number of threads for the Snap, you can tell that there are much more people out there caring attention to the Diamond1. So I don't get this HTC strategy to not release a 6.5 ROM for the Diamond1. Note that the Snap is also called the Ozone in the UK and that a lot of business companies use that phone over there... So maybe that's one of the reasons. Oh well.... I'm sure there are a few 6.5 cooked ROMs around here which are Ok for the Diamond anyway
RAM
Snap vs Diamond for RAM ? Maybe that is the reason ?
Nope.
Both have 192 MB ram.
