How familiar are you with Mobile City Online? Is this a legit company? Has anyone reading this purchased from them before? I will e-mail them to ask what information they have on the unlocked US version. I must say I am very skeptical about this and wouldn't recommend anyone give them any credit card information until confirming this is legit.
I bought my N95 from them. Apparently they have an actual store in New York too. Good prices and a good google shop rating.
Hi,
I bought the Touch Pro 2 from them. I already got it.

That sounds pretty promising unless they just listed the specs wrong (or unless I read them wrong). Quad band 3G would be nice because I'm at ATT right now and I plan on moving to TMobile soon, but I could come back to ATT someday.
one quick question...
i got the TP2 european version unlocked
i live in NY.. and using Tmobile right now..
when they realease the phone here in the US
will i be able to get 3g service on my phone?
thanks.

Euro version of the TP2 will not work on either ATT or Tmobile (US) 3G service.
So you're stuck with crappy EDGE on that phone.

You must have the European version without support for 3G in the states. They are selling both versions and are showing the European version in stock. They say they have no ETA for the US version. Looks like they sell the Euro TP2 on their site and via Amazon.com. Amazon has them rated at 94-96% positive feedback.

I have picked up a few phones from them. Original touch pro when it came out, also imate ultimate when it came out. I also have picked up my touch pro from their shop in the city. Very nice store. EVERYTHING is on display to play with which is cool as hell! As far as releases, they are usually spot on when they have a pre-order with a release date, the ones with NO ETA are kinda up in the air. I've gotta call them for more info. I never even knew there was an unlocked version of the TP2 coming out from HTC unbranded that would allow full 3G in the USA!

a nexus one is $530 and on contract there is a certain required plan that doesn't support family plans.
HTC desire and Tmobile
So if i understand it correctly,
Desire is NOT coming to T mobile for Sure ..
It will not work with T mobile frequencies, esp 3G network
which carrier will it work with ... better not AT&T
so basically no point of buying an unlocked phone then ..

It is rumored that AT&T will get the Desire. Wait it out until April-June. Also, if Telstra gets the Desire, AT&T customers can POSSIBLY import one and MAYBE catch 3G.
As far as "T" goes, I don't know if they will get the Desire since...well...there is the NX-1.
Either way, you will not be able to get 3G speed if you import the Desire. So if you want 3G, go with the Nexus. If not...go with the Desire
Does T-Mo UK have the same 3G frequencies and whatnot as T-Mo US? Because according to MoDaCo's webiste, T-Mo UK IS getting the Desire. So if T-Mo US doesn't, we could always import and throw in our sim cards :]

The UK Desire wont work on US TMo 3G. Its radio only does 2100/900 and 2100 is what TMo UK uses. TMo US uses the 1700 frequency. Ironic that the Nexus 1 radio does 1700/2100/900 so it works on TMo UK 3G.

i have an upgrade for tmobile. is there anywhere i can buy the gn to credit this upgrade? the google nexus page says that the only place to buy is verizon.
no its currently unavailable for any U.S. carriers unless you get the LTE version.
You can however spend ~$700 and buy the phone for the full price. That's the only way to get it on T-Mobile/AT&T.

wow. i can't believe it. this is the worst nexus launch ever. guess i just wait for the next batch of smartphones to come out.
unfortunately zephik is correct. if your a T-mobile customer buying it unlocked is the only way to get the phone.
And right now there is no reason to expect a T-Mobile release in the US anytime soon.
basically if you don't want to do that, buy a galaxy s 2 and install cyanogen 9 on it when it eventually comes out. or just wait. but it could be a very very very long wait.

Most likely after Verizon's exclusivity to Galaxy Nexus which is unsure at this time.
Keep in mind that when the AT&T version launches (or vice versa), it should be compatible with both 4G networks because of pentaband.

That's so silly, such a step backwards and waste of money changing the bands and creating more models of the same phone but I guess we'll just have to wait and see when the AT&T/T-Mo version gets announced.
Typical U.S. carriers wish U.S. carriers were more like European ones. They all offer the same phone, difference are the plans/service/coverage which is better competition in the end imo.
looks like im gonna have to choose between the htc amaze or sgs 2 now. leaning more toward the sgs2 though

+1 to what jetrii said. The LTE uses a MicroSIM card (I believe), it doesn't support T-Mobile or AT&T bands. Only Verizon's 4G LTE network.
Any differences? I know the quad processor was a big difference on the note 1. I think thats been taken care of. How about the home button? Are they soft on the international version?
No differences buddy. It will be released to all 5 major networks here in the US by mid-November. With LTE (except T-Mobile, HSPA+) and with a Quad Core.

Appears the N7105 will be international and support European LTE bands, which is different from USA. Appears the N7100 will support LTE bands (ATT etc) in U.S., but not totally confirmed. Support for GSM is just a part of it. It need to be able to use multiple frequency bands(which it does) normally it it's tri/quad band it's ok, But also it need to have a SIM slot which you can replace SIM card from carrier outside the US then you can call that a world phone.

There was 1 on ebay US when I posted. BIN $550 but not sure if they shkp to CA tho.
Mine was delivered yesterday. I added 2 lines to my share plan. Got 1 S4 Active and a Note 8 LTE for $362 shipped. The Active I'm selling and terminating the line. Needed to buy Active for $99 to get the Note 8 for $199. If I get the $100 billing credit it showed I got.a smoken deal.
The AT&T promotion might make more available on eBay possibly.

Well for one thing the LTE Bands most used in Canada is the AWS 1700/2100 and then the 2600 Band. Most people in Canada don't want the AT&T version. They want the full version with phone function. The HK or Singapore version has the 2600 LTE Band but you have to watch out for the HSPA Bands because some of those models are missing the 1900 3G Band. Rogers/Fido uses the 2600 Band though it's not as large an area as the AWS Band. The HK version should work but I don't know of anyone here with one to test.

I'm talking about the device as it relates to it's N5120 LTE version number not specifically the source code numbers sgh-i467, sgh-i467M. The AT&T version removed the phone earpiece hardware from their model. If you look at the HK model you will see the earpiece speaker above the Samsung logo. I don't know if the internals have been changed but the source code doesn't allow for phone function. People are trying to get the phone function to work through Bluetooth or wired headphones but I haven't heard of anyone doing it yet.
In Canada the 2 LTE Bands are AWS 1700/2100 and the 2600.
I think AT&T also use the AWS and the other one is 800 or something like that. Ok so it's the 700 not 800.
Posted this in the TMobile release thread but hasn't gotten any responses (might be the wrong place for such a question). It will work in tmobile, yes. But won't you be losing some bands cricket/att use? I use cricket too and was trying to get the international model for this reason. With the tmobile version your missing some of the 3g and LTE bands that att uses.

I know but my question is will this degrade performance or affect my ability to use data and voice, etc.? I don't understand anything about bands.

AT&T uses bands 2/4/5/17/29/30 for LTE and 850/1900 for GSM. If you use a T-Mobile G4 on AT&T, going by your first post, you will not get LTE bands 5 or 29 or 850 for GSM.
This means is you will not be able to take advantage of AT&T's 850MHz LTE or 700MHz lower D/E LTE spectrum, or 850MHz GSM. AT&T's main bands are 5 and 17, so in some areas you will get reduced LTE performance, especially indoors and when far from the tower. You may run into markets that you only get 2G/3G in as well if they are using only bands 5 and/or 29.
In short, it will work, but it's not ideal.

The B/I/U text is the answer I was looking for. I appreciate it.
I'm going to rock it for a few days until the AT&T phone comes out and return the T-Mobile one since I have 14 days to do so.

Depending on your market, you may be perfectly fine, since you have the T-Mobile version I'd wait and see how happy you are with the service. The AT&T G4 costs a lot more.
Well, it just came. So I'll test it out with my Cricket SIM and see how it goes. But I'm leaning towards swapping it out.
Update, probably last one.
1) Put my Cricket SIM into the new LG G4.
2) Got a message saying phone was locked to network. Call support to get it unlocked.
3) Called support and they said because I don't have a T-Mobile account, they cannot unlock it. I'd need to go through a 3rd party to do that. BUT, if I do that, I can no longer return the phone.
I'm not going to bother with 3rd Parties and will just get an AT&T phone which will allow me to use my Cricket SIM without issue, plus have all of the missing bands. So, I am starting the return process on my T-Mobile LG G4, unless someone wants to buy it from me?
thanks for reporting all this. I'm on att but am out of contract, deciding if i upgrade to the att g4 or switch to tmo and upgrade there.
still not decided but I'm definitely not going to run the tmo on att, because my signal at home is 1 bar of lte if I'm lucky. the only hold back is obviously the bootloader. I've never had a stock phone for more than a day, eeesh.

No problem. That's why we're all here.
Same here. Now that I'm going to be waiting till June 5th for the G4 (AT&T release date), I'm hoping some progress is made in the next week for unlocking the bootloader. Must have root (for XPosed and a bunch of other apps).

I did the att preorder last week. I'm kind of hoping since I'll get it later that there will be root and stuff by the time I get it too lol.

It comes out on June 13 at best buy. Over a week after att stores. So that's a week after it releases. Not before

I spoke to the guy at my local AT&T store who said they aren't doing an official pre-order but that he'll put me on the list to reserve one and I'll come get it when it arrives.
Man, I'm so indecisive lol. This is by far the 'craziest' a phone has gotten me since smart phones were invented.
I scrapped my plan of getting an AT&T H810 (which would work perfectly with my Cricket SIM) and decided to spend a tad bit more ($60 or so) and get a fully unlocked H815 model that has all the AT&T bands + others. Ordered it on EBay, should be here by the 4th which is actually a day earlier than the AT&T release (which is June 5th).
