Hi all,
Although I have tried to set it up to 30 seconds by using Advance Config 3.3; the keyboard light still goes dark after 10 seconds. And unfortunately the HD Tweak does not have this kind of setting.
It's annoying especially when trying to write something long at dark places, where sometimes you have to look at the screen and think before you write. The keyboard light goes off and you try to see the correct key, you write again and pause then same thing over and over.
Thanks in advance.
I have the same problem, It's really annoying, any solution???
there is another thread already dedicated to this an there is no solution yet

It's not length btw, it's called duration.

I was wondering if there's any programs out there that make the HD keyboard have haptic feedback.
I know the Omnia has it, so I was wondering if it's also possible (easy?) to add this feature to the HD keyboard.
I second that. I think there must be a regkey somewhere. I found a key for Opera to enable haptic feedback: HKLM\software\Opera\defaults\VibrationEnabled=1
So other programs might need this too to work. Just from the top of my head.

i have never had a chance to play with an omnia.however i was wondering what are the benefits if the keyboard features a haptic feedback? since we still cant really see what key or alphabet we are pressing when using fingers right?does it give the same buzz for any key we press or there is a different feedback with each key?it would be better if there is a program that can make the keys we pressed appear really large that the fingers will not block it for the default htc keyboard.

I don't really mind that so much. What I want is to have some sort of feedback when i press a key on the keyboard. Typing without it just feels a bit awkward.
This utility does the job on my HD : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425063

Thank you very much. Found this myself also after some searching. Next time I'll try not to be so lazy.
I'm positive there's a registry value somewhere that disables it. I don't like it when i have to run programs in the background just to use a feature the device already has. Saves up precious memory, you know?

I posted about a bug with Touch HD on that thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2919568&postcount=79
What's the efffect of this utility on performance and battery life? Does it slow the system in any way?
Look at bottom of 1st post. There is a volume fix zip file. That may help you out as there was a known issue about the volume keys bug. Can you report back? I don't have y HD yet.

SPB Keyboard is able to give vibration feedback if you press the keys...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=450256
That app works great on my HD but it vibrates in all windows, not just while typing. The developer is working to create profiles so you can choose when it does and doesn't vibrate.
Hmm, I'm not sure which app it is, but in my remove programs list it's called Kisja & Const Vibration Feedback, in CPU manager it's listed as VOA.exe... I noticed yesterday that any time I touch the screen it shoots VOA.exe up to around 60% of CPU usage. Surely that's not a good idea?
I'm a little worried about removing it as I think last time I did, it gave errors on booting saying VOA.exe could not be found. Anyway, I guess I'll remove it again, has no-one else noticed this?
Dutty's
Dutty's latest rom for the HD does an excellent job with haptic feed-back on the keyboard
This program works on the HD without any problems and will do what you are looking for.

Not exactly sure what you mean by this, but the question has been asked lots of times (just do a search on keyboard backlight) as many people complain about it. No great solution so far though unless you install a custom ROM (I know CM6 allows you to customize all of the backlight levels) or cover up your light sensor to keep it lit...
Alternatively, I think there they might be some apps on the market like Power Manager that keep the backlight on, but I have tried any since I use CM6...
ok thanks, i'm running virtuous but idk if its possible to customize it, ill check it out and search the market otherwise thx!
It would only turn off if there's lots of light. There's no timer.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 running Cyanogenmod.
not talking about a timer, just the sensitivity of the sensor regarding the lighting on keys.... it just goes of to quick imo....
$1m reward for information leading to turning off the lights in the home/menu/back/search buttons. They waste power and more important when I read at night with low light red render, the bright button lights are blinding.
Hmm. It depends in the rom you are using.
If it is a cyanogen kind rom you simply change the settings.
Kind regards Holger.

If you like to read at night SCREEN FILTER (free from market) is a great program.

SUPERB!!!!
For so long I have been wondering could I switch off the softkey lights while watching media. It's a waste of battery and not needed.
Watching a TV show with 3 bright lights lit up on the phone. argh... I use this app now to keep brightness for screen at 100% but just to turn off annoying button lights while watching movie etc.
Nice.
Thanks Artukas

Is anyone experiencing lag and delays when typing in landscape mode?
I'm typing into the stock SMS app. There are no slowdowns in portrait mode, bizarrely.
UPDATE: Looks like this could be a known bug here - http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=22432
As I've mentioned before, if you're having a similar problem to that described in the link, give it a star rather than a "me too" comment - unless your problem is different.
I don't get that. Are you using the default keyboard?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Yes, indeed - default keyboard. If the vibrate on keypress is enabled, I can tell it's delayed.
I've also noticed this in numerous applications. Try typing a Google+ post in landscape and prepare to be frustrated.
Hmm. Try going into the advanced settings of the keyboard and try to reduce vibration time or key pop up dismiss delay. Maybe that will help.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
I still does it with the vibration turned off. The key presses still seem to be registered, but feedback (the pop-up letters) seem to catch up when it's finished doing the other things that it needs to do.
I have exactly the same problem in my galaxy nexus.. and only in landscape mode... and the longer you write in landscape mode to more delay you will get... any idea?
greets Micha
Thanks everyone for responding so far.. seems it's not just me.
By no means am I moaning - the phone has blown my mind. The keyboard is amazingly useful in portrait mode, that I'm almost not bothered by this landscape slow down.
I wonder if Google are aware of it?
Might be this issue

Yup, I've also noticed this. I don't have vibration enabled.
This happens to me as well. It also happened to me on my Nexus S. It doesn't seem to do it all the time, but at least 40% of the time the keyboard will lag. Also when I use the word replacement feature of spell check it won't actually replace the word or it will replace it but keep the red underline, then change back to the misspelled word again.
just noticed this this morning- seems limited to landscape mode so far. kind of a bummer since in portrait mode the keyboard performance is the best I have ever seen.

Ah yes, the still haven't fixed that either. I was thinking the GN version of the app would be updated from the Gingerbread one. No spell correction, suggestions, auto punctuation, or word wrap in landscape mode. At least we know that problem can be fixed by an app update from Google.
I have noticed this as well. Commented also to the android forum thread about this.. Let's hope we get a fix soon
Hello again all, with this one I was curious if any has any one encountered anybugs sense they have gone to the latest update??
But before updating I wast able to use xda on tapatalk
And now with the latest update i have issues with the xda app and in Firefox when I try to replay, make a post that i end up in the quote typing, the reply box just keeps next line down and I can't get back to what I am typing and eventually just have to use Chrome,
And not sure if it a ul5 but it seem my touch whennim typing is pretty bad it end up with alot of typos but it could be fat thumbs and something I assum could be hogging up my ram but I change my virtual ram to 6gbs and fresh rate is 60htz vs the 120hrz but let me know
Thanks in advance!!!

The little green light comes on when the camera/microphone is accessed... If you weren't using an app that was supposed to be using the camera (or microphone) then some other app was spying on you...
Hi, just updated to the new software (Dec firmware) but I am still having issues with auto rotate stack widget on my fold 4. Can anyone don't mind help me to test pls?
To replicate:
1) Have stack widgets on cover screen on home page and 2nd page, press and hold, edit stack and have auto rotate on for both pages.
2) Turn off cover screen mirroring
3) Unfold phone
4) Fold phone
5) Edit stack setting on cover screen.
Does the auto rotate widget switch to off on the home page? How about the 2nd page?
Thanks!
Lock screen disappears on front screen, just can see the wallpaper.

Yeah, this bug happened awhile back in OneUI 4.x (which got fixed by a keyboard update if I'm not mistaken) and now it's returned. I avoid using the Fold to reply in a forum... I have to resort to using different device.
