I have been through all the wiki as well as other site recommendations on MMS settings that would allow a Dash to send/receive MMS on AT&T. I have a Kaiser on the account and have used its settings as a guide also. All efforts so far have not worked. Texting works fine. There's one MMSC setting called "contact via" where the options are in a prepopulated "drop down" menu. The comparable setting in my Kaiser at this spot is set to MEdia Net. Of course this is not available in a fixed menu T-Mobile device. I have tried all available settings in that menu...nothing. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
search using "att data" i set some tags last week on a thread that explained everything about this.
Thank you
Thanks phatmanxxl,
With your suggestion I found a configuration I had not seen before. I've now sent mms in both directions and it seems to be fine.
Thanks again!!
I have an unlocked Excalibur from Orange I am usinon TMobile and am having the same problem getting MMS working on my phone.
Hoping I can find a solution as well, as nothing tried so far has worked.

Not to sound like a broken record but always check the Wiki I think you'll find the t-Mobile setting there.
Yes, the settings are in the wiki.
However, after inputing them and checking them a dozen times it's still not working.

What rom are you using?

I upgraded my ROM to the official Cingular WM6 (got it here). I have a problem with pocket IE on any connection other than GPRS/EDGE/3G.
I cannot browse anything with Pocket IE over wifi/active sync. I tried doing other stuff like checking my email and that works so I know its not the wifi settings on my PC. I also tried to connect my PSP and my NDS and both worked so its not some port problem.
Has anyone encountered this and does anyone know of a solution?
I have a problem with PIE not displaying graphics in full resolution. They are all down sized. view -> desktop no longer shows them at full size.
I'm using vp3gs wm6, with IE cache to card.
Any hints on how to restore graphics to their full size? I'm trying to view my network traffic graphs, and when they are downsized, they become useless. I was running Custel's 1.3 for months without issue.
Thanks!

I found the fix on the WIKI. It had to do with the had coded proxy that they put on the ROM. Deleting 1 key fixed it. If you encounter the same, look under Hermes_Problems of the WIKI.
i am having this same exact problem...off to the wiki!
edit: awesome, seems to be working well so far, thanks for the heads up!
and here is the fix if you don't feel like searching ( and who does? ) and woo 100th post!
Turn off hard coded proxy into IE
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings] The default setting (that uses the proxy) is:
"EnableAutoDetect"=dword:00000000 Change it to:
"EnableAutoDetect"=dword:00000001 Or simply delete it. It's more of the fact that if it's there and =0 it's used. if it's missing it's not used. But changing it to =1 will also make it disable. This way you can simply change the value back without re-adding the seting back in.
For some reason, the registry entry above will occasionally revert from =1 to =0, causing IE's proxy to be active again. Deleting the registry entry prevents this from happening.

Or...............
y'all could just use the Enable/Restore Proxy icons already provided in the ROM (Programs | Proxy Manager). Guess which registry key they flip...

I gave this a shot cause I realized I had the same issue. It didn't work for me. I don't know how to edit the registry yet. Could you point in the direction to do that. The first time I did it it worked without problems. I did a hard reset and after that it didn't work any more. Any tips.

Well, if you do a hard reset it's going to re-enable the proxy by default. I've never seen the Proxy Manager not work, let's put it that way. That said, if you go installing other settings cabs, etc... all bets are off (at least with my ROM, they are...).
Salute to you all!
Salute to you all.
I had this problem long times ago.
It's solved now.
Thanks.
Disabling Proxy worked for Pocket IE, but...
I'm having trouble trying to get Windows Live to work off WiFi rather than connect via GPRS/UMTS. Has anyone else run into this problem and if so, is there any way to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

I re-disabled the proxy. I guess it may be because I am at work right now and the wireless is crapy. I can't get anything other than a local connection on my PC. So I'll let you know later

I am using the official DOPOD WM6 version, and such "proxy manager" does not exist under "programs".

The only way i have found to do this is to go to CommManager and turn off "Phone" and enable WiFi and then sign into Windows Live, and then go back to CommManager and Enable Phone again! it forces it to connect to wifi rather than the choice between wifi and gprs stuff
hope that helps
Hi all,
Firstly I would like to say thanks for a great forum which has improved my experience of using this phone.
I have managed to upgrade to the most recent HTC rom though this website and have also tried out many of the other ROM's on my previous MDA Vario (HTC Wizard). So overall, I guess I am trying to say that I'm not a total noob.
However, the only problem I'm seem to be having is with my MMS & GPRS settings. I have searched the forums and entered in the UK T-Mobile settings for MMS & GPRS but I still cannot get it to work. I receive the message 'Error Synchronizing". I have also tried sending a picture message through the wireless internet connection rather than WAP but still to no avail.
I would appreciate any help or advice. (sorry for the long post)
BUMP - this seems to be a common problem reading through the forums ?
Does anyone have any adivce ?
try using the search tools.. i was browsing through the web e other time, i have seen somebody guiding the mms & gprs settings. will be posting the link again if i found it..
Thanks for the reply. I already used the search an inputted the settings from another post (cant find it right now) I also followed the user guide to manually configuring the gps & mms from the Handbook but no luck.
EDIT - MMS ISSUES FIXED by installing program in this thread

Question for the forum... I have tried purchasing and downloading different applications from at&t's medianet site from my hermes. I've tried just about any new rom that comes my way, but for whatever reason I can't download anything from medianet. My quess is my browser shows that I don't have a standard at&t device. My question is; has anyone else had this problem and how do I solve it?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
probably need to have the proxy turned on... search XDA for: bear at&t proxy
This is the best solution I have come up with so far. The best way is to uninstall your current MMS software and reinstall this in its place or just install it over the top and it will usually work. I have spent hours changing configurations and such and never had a good and fast solution until I found this cab. Now I get MMS as fast as SMS and never have any issues at all. I am using MRH ROMs and it works great.
Arc Soft MMSC for AT&T on Filedropper.com
thanks guys. Still no luck.
I can't find "bear at&t proxy" anywhere. I've tried removing keywords and everything, just can't seem to find any useful reference to what you're referring to. Any additional assistance is greatly appreciated.
I didn't feel like searching for it, so I just attached it here.
It puts 2 cabs in programs... proxy on and proxy off.
and I'm attaching the Cingular/AT&T settings, JIC yours are screwed up

Did you try my cab? http://www.filedropper.com/arcsoftmmscatt I was in the same boat and that was the only solution I found and it was the easiest.
MediaNet Downloads
Your connection should be set to "Media Net" instead of "My ISP." However, I've never been able to purchase & download anything on the MediaNet site, using either the original WM5 or the HTC WM6 upgrade. I get error messages that there are no apps compatible with my device.
I cant recieve any MMS or send them either. They just stay in the outbox when I try to send them. When I was with tmobile, they worked, but then I unlocked my phone, switched to ATT, and upgraded to WM6.1 and they no longer work.
What can I do?
Thanks
You could try this -

Thanks! I actually tried this before, but it wasn't working until I did a few different things. Whenever it tells you to add something, make sure you delete everything else first. I don't know if there really is any difference, but it worked for me.

Can you please provide more detail? I've had no luck trying to send picture thru mms.
Yah I have tried to help him with no success either... Hopefully someone out there is using At&t and is able to help him out.
Arite man here goes nothing, but an attempt...
I work in the technical department of a cellular service provider in the caribbean. We are not as advanced as the americans, etc in the sense of having 3g and stuff like that. Anyways, lol we do provide edge service and i have a dash w/wm6.1 Rom. I also have blackberry connect on my device. Up until recently i never tried sending MMS, so when i attempted to, i ran into a similar error. after reading a thread to fix on here, i finally received my first MMS (which was pending for days by the way), but i still couldnt send.
here's my fix...
since im using BB connect on my device, im connected with EDGE all the time. so i used my connection settings and just added or subtracted a few options from the MMS settings.
the only options i ticked in the settings were: automatic download in home and roaming network, save sent messages and allow delivery report. i then inserted the necessary MMS settings provided by my network: URL, Gateway, Port; always connect via the Internet. After this i was able to receive.
The problem with my network is that it uses WAP or blackberry to send or receive MMS, but since im using BB connect, i wouldnt have all the defaulted settings as a BB device would, so i had to set up a WAP connection and i was able to get rid of my messaged stored in the outbox.
this should be a good solution for you if you know the settings for your service provider, or you can always call and ask for the settings, since it cannot be sent OTA with the Dash.
Yea i know its kind of a long post, but i wanted to give a detailed rundown of how i got mine to work.
Got my shiny new Touch Pro 2, the number has ported back from my PAYG Orange SIM today, it's all great.
But.
The auto-configured data connection doesn't seem to work.
It connects, but once connected, I can't browse any websites and can't synchronise my email. No errors, just nothing happens.
It's working fine through WiFi.
I've tried unticking the Proxy Server settings and I've tried removing them, then unticking. Still no luck.
I've tried setting up a manual connection with the following settings:
general.t-mobile.uk
user
wap
(also, t-mobile and password)
Am I missing something incredibly obvious?
Thanks
Does the following help:
http://www.manuals.t-mobile.co.uk/m...1&ref=featured&manualid=2497&subjectid=614849
APN: general.t-mobile.uk
Username: user
password: one2one
HTH - Rufus.
Alas, no. It still connects, and it still does nothing, including throw an error. :/
Have you tried getting the settings resent to your phone using the T-mobile web site?
Yep. I stuck in my mobile number and they recognised my device as a T-Mobile Vario V (!), but the only options it gives me are MMS and email (which asks all sorts of irrelevant questions like who my provider is).
I asked for the MMS settings, got a text with a PIN in, but no settings came through.
I've tried following the guide for the Vario III (which is pretty much how I'd been doing it anyway), but I always end up with something which connects but never does anything.
I'll try a hard reset tonight if nothing else works, but if anyone else has any ideas, I'll try 'em out first!
Hmm, I'm sure you've tried it, but Settings->Connections "Connection Setup" looks like some kind of wizard. I've not tried running it, don't remember having it on my TyTN II.
Also membered seeing this post recently:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=388740
Good luck!
Well 2 hard resets later, and the data connects more-or-less properly (never seen the T-Mobile "content lock" before, that's for m.twitter.com, even though I've already synched my contacts with Facebook :/).
The email seems fairly random as to whether it'll work or just say "Cannot connect with current connection settings" - instantly. It's not even trying.
All works fine on wireless still. Very frustrating. Never had anything like this on the Vario III.
EDIT: Could be all Proxy Server related. I've unticked that again, and all seems well. Will see how it goes.
EDIT EDIT: Despite the content lock supposedly being off, I still can't get to http://m.twitter.com. I may have to ask in a shop tomorrow, and they'll blame the unsupported device *sigh*
It has to be the proxy server thingy. I had the same problems and I just went into edit settings and unticked the proxy server check box and that sorted it for me. I am curious to know why this has to be done though cos on my Kaiser it works without unticking the proxy sever.
I always set my Kaiser connection up manually, so didn't have that problem
This morning, the Twitter problem seems to have cleared too.
Also, TomTom is working, with full postcodes and sound, so I think I may actually have my perfect device for the moment
