HTC WM 6.1 on T-Mobile Dash Causes Bluetooth Connection Problems - HTC Excalibur

I use a T-Mobile Dash and recently flashed my ROM with Windows Mobile 6.1 from Kavana. I love the layout and uses but I have encountered a problem.
When I am using my bluetooth headset for phone calls, my device shuts down without provocation. I can be in the middle of a call and then lose the connection. I check the phone and it is off. After rebooting, I have noticed a considerable amount of battery power has been used for even a short time. (The last time this happened, I was on a call for less than 3 minutes and the battery, which was full before dialing, was down to 83%.)
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Jared

Replace the battery, its been a known problem and been discussed on here many of times.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have just returned from the local T-Mobile store with a new battery. I will try this out and report back.

Bluetooth Issues

Hi everyone, i myself have a BlueAngel, but my dad has a Universal (M5000) and has been having a few problems with the bluetooth.
Basically, at first we thought the bluetooth was randomly turning off so i tired the latest orange rom upgrade (buisiness phone so must use orange rom) this made no difference so i assumed it was a hardware problem, he got it replaced but the new one also had the fault after a few days. since then it has been replaced about 5 times but all with the same problem, so i decided to have a look at it. The bluetooth seem to turn itself off after the devcie has been in suspend for about 5 minutes, so i was wondering if this was a power management issue.
Any help/tips would be nice
Thanks in advance.

Tmo TP2 Shuts off all by itself.

I have a t-mobile tp2. I put on the htc 6.5 firmware on and it was working very well. All of a sudden, i come to use the phone and it's turned off. I can't even turn it on. I have to take the battery off and then turn it on. I thought something with the firmware was corrupt so i loaded a different firmware. Same thing! Happens about once a day. Sometimes i can go a day or so without it doing it. Is my phone bad? Any advice? Thanks!
Before you upgreaded to wm 6.5 it was the same way?
I've got an EU version with the stock HTC 6.5 upgrade which happens to be connected to TM UK. I too get these occasional lock-ups but I don't think the phone turns off, just refuses to wake up (had one today and the green LED notification was still blinking) - again a battery removal and soft reset is the only cure.
I've been getting less since a hard reset last week but still once every few days - somewhat annoying!
My touch pro 2 does the same thing. Except i have narrowed down the symptoms to after the phone goes on stand by for 3rd or 4th time. It doesnt turn off it actually goes into like a stand by that it can't come out of unless you soft reset the phone. Which is really weird. I am running 6.5. i have replaced everything and can not figure out what is causing it to do it. i have cooked so many different roms with no luck. I am also using build 28002. any help please!! i hate to have to soft reset my phone every 15 minutes or so... very annoying.

Bluetooth problem with TP2 and Acura HFL

I have a Sprint Touch Pro2 running stock 6.5 ROM and a 2005 Acura TL. When I got the phone a few weeks ago, I was able to pair the two without problems and it persisted reliably. I was able to shut BT off and turn it back on and the pairing would take place immediately.
Four or five days ago, though, the pairing would drop periodically, forcing me to re-pair, and now, the pairing will disappear almost immediately if I'm able to get them to pair at all. Most of the time I can't get the phone to 'see' the car.
FWIW, I use my own 4-number PIN, and when the phone sees the car, I'm able to enter that PIN and pair them.
I of course was installing a lot of stuff on the phone, although nothing that one would expect might affect the BT, so I flashed back to the stock 6.5 ROM last night to see if it helped (it didn't- same prob today).
Before I take this thing back to Sprint and smash it on their counter, anyone have any ideas about settings I might not be aware of that could affect this?
Thanks in advance for any help.
PS: I'm going to be testing my old phone (Treo 800w) on the car later to see if it still pairs to eliminate the car as the problem.

[Q] Anyone having network issues, radio problems?

I am on my second International HTC one X and both devices would lose the carrier signal quit often... I would either go to airplane mode, or turn the network off and on and it would grab it again. Sometimes it would be good for the day and other times, I would have to do it a few times....
I wanted to think it was my carrier having issues (MTS in Winnipeg MB Canada)... however, this has never happened on my many other devices. Now I wake up today and turn on the mobile data, after awhile... it does not connect, under settings it says disconnected because service is unavailable. I tried reboots, restart, airplane mode, checking apn settings.... on my last reboot, it says No signal/emergency calls only.
So now I am fearing a hardware issue (but I find it odd it happens on both my one xs).
I love this device and aside from this potentially huge issue.... I have no complaints, so I will ask here and see if you guys have any solid input.. before I contact htc!
I also popped my sim in and out, as of right now...
Thx in advance.
**update: it almost seems like putting wifi on, knocks out my carrier signal.... after an hour of doing the above things, I turned off wifi, went to airplane mode and now my signal and data is there (it makes no sense) and it is quite a hassle
The weirder part is, it seems to only be in the morning.... once I am up and running, I do not seem to have many issues through out the day, but If I put wifi on long enough... It goes to no signal/eventually....
If I do not put on wifi, it either does not drop.... or I am not noticing.
I've just begun having network problems but I'm not sure it's related to your situation. I'm in Australia on the Optus network.
It happened suddenly yesterday. Service completely cuts out for extended periods. It will occasionally come back on for a short while (long enough to download all my sms) but will then cut out again. When the signal does briefly come back in, the signal strength is decent: it's an all-or-nothing proposition.
Did you manage to resolve your situation? Would be interested to know what resolved it for you.
I've had this phone since early April when it was released here and the is the first issue I've had with it. I haven't done anything new to my phone in the past week so I'm finding this strange. I'm running Leedroid 4.0.0 but I've had that installed for weeks without issue. I'm worried it could be a hardware issue.
I'm going to try reflashing it tonight to see if it's a software issue.

[Q] Shutdown issue (but not the overnight one!)

Hi,
I've been reading the other shutdown issue with interest from the start but I think that my particular issue is different and I'd like to know whether anyone else has my exact problem.
I'm using the o2 UK 16GB version 10A/234 and this is the problem:
When I reboot the phone and it gets to the lockscreen, if the network status is "disabled" on the lockscreen and I swipe to open, the phone shutsdown and can't be started again until I remove the battery.
If I wait for a couple of seconds when the lockscreen comes up, there is a little lag but the phone works as normal.
I can replicate this issue over and over again, so it is not a random occurrence AND this is the second handset that I have had where this exact problem is present.
Does anyone else have this issue?

I'm facing the same issue. Is your device rooted?
At first every (re)boot without being connected via usb to a charger or a computer would result in a shutdown shortly after I enter my pin. After a day of usage I cannot reproduce it anymore, although it still happens from time to time, for example yesterday when I tried to send a text while having very bad to no reception. When it happens I also have to remove the battery or hook it up to a charger, otherwise the buttons/screen would not respond..
I'm thinking there is a (firmware) problem with the chipset since it always happens when my phone is trying/strugling to connect to the mobile network. I installed an app which constantly writes logs to my sd, hopefully that will give me more information about what's causing the problem..
Are you also having bad reception when the device shuts down? My previous device (iPhone 5s) had normal reception in my house, incl. a stable 3G connection, always 2-3 bars of 5. The LG G3 is constantly strugling with the connection to the network and often switches to "emergency calls only"..

This happens rooted non-rooted, stock (no added apps) and always whilst connecting to phone network. Are you on same variant as me and if you leave it for a moment before putting in your pin does it then work ok?. I'm trying to get o2 to change my handset for another model (m8) but they just want to fix my one.

Yes I'm on the same variant. Still running the 10A firmware.
Sometimes it works, but I will do some more test this evening after work and see if I can reproduce it every time and hopefully get some usable logging too.
I think this is fixed in the 10f firmware update that I installed yesterday. I haven't had a shutdown since :victory:
