Hey,
I've recently just received a second hand 02 XDA Orbit (not the 2nd one) and im looking to be able to put windows mobile 6.1 on it, as it only has an earlier version at the moment.
I have no clue where to start as far as getting it installed and the procedures that i have to take to get it to work. Im sorry for being a complete noob when it comes to XDA's but we all have to start somewhere right?
So please could you give me some tips & or guide (with links if possible )as to how i can install it successfully with working Wifi, gps etc.
Thanks,
Jonty

Hi guys,
I've just received my XDA orbit and i'm loving it so far, but want to start customising it... I have a few questions you might be able to help with:
1. My orbit has WM5 on, is there a free upgrade to WM6 or do I have to buy it?
2. I want to customise the interface a bit to the black background with the "cube" interface on, is there a walkthrough on here that I can follow? Which is the best interface (ROM?) to install
3. Where can I get some free games from (or where can I buy some games)?
Sure there's more but will start off with just those.
Cheers
congratulations....
1 - the wm6 update is free, go to my-xda website, or there is an upload of the official one on the site.
2 - best black and blue 4.3 - in my opinion but this varis person to person - you will have to cid unlock it first.
3 - google is your friend
bear in mind, if you change to the B+B ROM (or similar) there is no point in upgrading to the Official WM6 ROM first, as B+B is based on the WM6 ROM
Cheers guys, can someone link to the thread with the B+B 4.3 rom in, i'm not sure which one it is...
RE:cid unlock - my phone O2 xda orbit is unlocked to all networks already, is that the same thing?
Am i right in thinking if I follow the thread here I won't need cid unlock?

The link to B+B is here
You will need to CID unlock, it is explained in the thread you linked to, just follow the instructions.
Sorry if the post has already been mentioned by someone else before.
I have an O2 XDA Orbit and i'm looking to put Fracoons Artermis rom on it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332008&highlight=touchflo♦.
I'm pretty new to flashing phones and PDA's but i'm quite experienced with a PC so shouldnt need to much help!
I was wondering what steps I should ensure to take to make sure that I dont turn it into a brick, I could do with a complete guide! I've also been told that i'll need to run the Artermus USPL program after connecting the phone. But any help and advice would be a great help. Is there anyway to backup the phone in the state it is at present if or if it doesnt go wrong?
Thankyou for the help and sorry again i've this has already been asked by someone else! Will really appreciated it!

Can anyone tell me which HardSPL (+ version) I should be using on my XDA Ignito please? I'd like to use the Dutty ROM.
And yes, I've searched, but I couldn't find any posts that answered this exact question.

have you even read the 1st post in duttys thread????
it is stated what to use if you look
look i could see it
""" Before Flashing Please ensure You have UN_Signed HARDSPL install on device this will ensure your device wont get bricked.
Thanks To Jocky2001 For HardSPL
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408621 """
why couldn't you??????????
Because in the same thread I saw people complaining about errors on their Ignito - Someone posted a question relating to an error on their Ignito and is still waiting for a response - I don't really want that to happen to me, which is why I thought I'd ask...

If you don't want the possibility of errors, then don't mess around flashing your device, leave it as it is. Read the stickies - there is plenty of information to enable you to make a decision
Thanks for no help. Much appreciated.
At the risk of being told off for encouraging you
A search "Ignito hardspl" of the Diamond root forum produced some good threads of which
My mini TUT is one.
Admittedly not a full ROM flash but the principle and Hard-SPL are the same

Because my Ignito already had an spl 1.93. I used
RUU_Signed_1_93OliNex_HSPL_UnsignedEdition. from the link in Cozzy's reply
I have flashed several times now with different roms succesfully.
Hope this helps.

Hi All
Well, after being without one for almost 5 years ... I have bought a second hand HTC Universal, mine to be specific is the O2 XDA Exec.
Being as it was second hand all I got was the handset and USB cable, no discs, box ... nothing! I am really trying to down-grade the ROM on it. It currently has WM6.5 .. and from what I can tell it is defo a cooked ROM from somewhere. I want to down grade to WM5 so it is faster and I dont need any of this fancy stuff as I will be using it for home automation.
I have done ROM upgrading before on my old HTC Touch HD ... so can anyone point me in the right direction please
Welcome to fora, have a look on my sig link, you´ll find what u need.
really being said by orb3000, you can get it from the link in his signature or you find at http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Universal_ROMS_Radios
Hello all again.
Please please can someone help me here. My HTC Uni is now a brick, stuck in bootloader.
I have done the task 28 55aa and from what I can tell, it did what it was meant to. I cant seem to upgrade any roms tho, I have downloaded 5 so far and all have failed saying it cannot find RAPI.dll ... can anyone help me please?
Sorry, maybe I should explain what I have tired! Might help lol
OK, I bought this of eBay and it came with a really bad home cooked Rom that was really slow and laggy. I wanted to downgrade it down to WM5 again so I picked a ROM of here and set about updating. At this point I need to mention this, I cant remember the name of the rom BUT I DO NOT BLAME the cooker of the rom, any rom cookers or xda developers for the problems I now have ... i did this fully knowing i am doing it at my own risk!
So, I didnt do alot off research and found out later that you need a special driver to flash in windows 7. Since trying to flash my HTC it has been stuck in boot loader. I have tried the task 28 55aa, tried upgrading just the radios and just the roms. Hard reset .. all that I can think and no luck at all.
Some of the roms come wtih "MaUpgradeUt_noID" this works, but the "ROMUpgradeUt" doesnt as it says the RAPI.dll file is missing.
Please can someone help me!
Again, on my sig link you´ll find a lot of help threads for problems like that.
I can recommend you to do a DOC format, instructions on my link as well.
all is well now, thanks orb. without your super guide I'd still have a dead HTC.
For all those who want to know, I had to upgrade my ROM on a windows XP machines ... luckily work surprisingly allowed me to do it!!
